2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India on Bitcoin: Will the Newly Elected Indian Government Pass Crypto-Friendly on: May 23, 2019, 02:27:55 PM

We should be hoping that India or rather the government of India will have an open mind on cryptocurrency as it has one of the most vibrant, young, hi-tech and talented pool of human resource that can work well with many fintech companies to pour in once the country has a good regulatory framework for this industry. But in my estimate there are more chances that the bill banning cryptocurrency can be passed by the legislature as the same leaders will soon assume into their seats. I am personally sad about this turn of events. Now, am waiting for a movement against that bill and for passing another law regulating and allowing cryptocurrency. India is already so behind with the blockchain and cryptocurrency as many countries in Asia are all set to exploit this opportunity.
2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Halving: Hype to Speculate? on: May 23, 2019, 02:08:14 PM

Next year, there will the scheduled halving of Bitcoin. For people who are still new, the term can be a little dizzy. To make it clearer:

In case you are wondering, this means that the number of Bitcoin issued per each block, mined every ten minutes, will fall from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC. In other words, this reduction of 50% will cut the block reward given to miners in half and further slow the production of Bitcoin’s finite supply. Source.

So this has something to do with the supply. The rewards available for miners is effectively reduced into half...or 50% less. This can slow down the production of more bitcoin coming from the side of the miners.

And this is the reason why some analysts are predicting that after and even before the scheduled halving, bitcoin can experience a great surge or a real bull run. Do you see this as a big probability or just another hype?

Now this might sound rubbish to some people (perhaps that's the reason I didn't write about this thought earlier), but still I know how a business is run in order to create value. I think this could add value and more qualities for Bitcoin.

No, I don't think your suggestion can be rubbish as that can have of some value too. Maybe this can be taken up by some people who are very much involved with bitcoin and its processes. Indeed, if the same hashing power can also be used with other worthwhile cause then bitcoin as an ecosystem can be more valuable and can be serving humanity more most especially that it is taking a chunk of electricity to run the whole thing. I am hoping that somebody can propose this or if the idea had already brought out sometime then maybe it can be re-examine to see if integration can be possible. Now, am not really an expert on bitcoin but I do agree with what you mean.
2144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 23, 2019, 01:37:35 PM

Apparently this is the first time law enforcement has taken an action against crypto mixers. It's funny because I am familiar with Bestmixer was just looking at it last week actually lol

Apparently Bestmixer is based in a country which also has a strict anti-money laundering laws and when authorities saw that the platform had been used in that way then investigated further and then the rest is history. I am sure this is sending some shivers with other more popular transaction mixers but i am hoping this can't happen to them as there are really people who prefer to use this service for their privacy and protection and whether they are doing illegal or not that is not for me to decide.
2145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Helios0x(IOS) is a copy cat scam of Helios Protocol(HLS) on: May 23, 2019, 10:47:27 AM

The evidence presented here can be enough to convict of that another project that plagiarized the original one. One thing, I could not really understand why some scammers can also be so dumb. How come they think that nobody will ever notice that they are just copying content of other projects? Maybe they don't have any money to start with to buy an original WhitePaper that is why copying became the best option. I am always glad that there are people who are exposing these scammers so we can somehow lessen the number of victims of these schemes.
2146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is popular, what do you think? Will you participate? on: May 23, 2019, 10:28:30 AM
The coin market ieo has turned the speculative coin into gambling. No matter whether the project is good or not, no one cares about it. The bear market project can't be used for money. Now, let's make a way. You can participate in the appointment, and then give you a few times the increase in the exchange. People may be able to earn some money. The secondary market is a long-term look at the market. It feels that this money is too buggy. Soon the money in the currency circle will be circled. A new project will come up with billions, but because of the turn With a few times the probability, it is difficult to stop the enthusiasm of the participation of the currency people, and may approach the ultimate method of cutting the leeks. I just said my personal thoughts.

IEO, ICO or even STO...these can be good platforms for crowdfunding but when human nature gets in the way things can spiral and can result into disaster and misery especially on the part of the investors. Just like in 2017, there is a growing interest with IEO with some projects selling like hotcakes. Since the crowdfunding is done in an exchange, good projects can receive good reception and one can easily trade the tokens or coins in the same exchange. Will there be a frenzy soon for IEO? That can be possible but it is always good to remain on the sideline and just act when we see a good opportunity.
2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Social Project on: May 23, 2019, 10:12:32 AM
I need help developing an altcoin to teach inhabitants of needy regions (slums) from Rio de Janeiro about cryptocurrencies. The cryptocurrency needs a limiter in its code that limits the processing power of the miners so that the poor people with average computers can have the same oportunity of mining as a wealthy person with advanced technology. Could you indicate me someone who is able to do this job? Or any softhouse for this kind of project?

This can be a good project. Is this teaching the poor with the goal of using cryptocurrency to make some money that can help them in their everyday expenses like food, clothing, shelter and education. I am suggesting you partner with capable people and also start building up the finance or funds needed for the project. You can convince some to donate their time and effort for the project but if you can have the way to get sources of money, then the project can proceed faster and with ease. Good luck with your project!
2148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When cryptocurrencies are legalized on: May 23, 2019, 09:50:13 AM

Ten or twenty years down the road, I am sure that bitcoin will remain to be the top cryptocurrency and remains as the official representative of the entire industry. Not because it is perfect because it is not but because it remains to be the flavor of the month with holders, traders and just plain enthusiasts. However, it does not meant that alts will not be here because after all this is an open market and anybody and anything got the same right to compete and to show what they got. Actually, there is nothing like "official" here as we are in a decentralized platform.

2150  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-20] EtherDelta receive Cryptopia hacker funds on: May 23, 2019, 09:26:45 AM

Wow. I am amazed just looking at the diagram. So there is a very effective way to trace all transactions starting with the hacked accounts or wallets and into the many wallets where the coins flowed through. However, what is also amazing is that there is nothing we can do aside from watching the movement. Sad to know this big reality. I am hoping there can be a small slip where one wallet address is identified to a certain person so that an investigation can be possible. Am I talking some sense here?
2151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Copyright Registrations Do Not Recognize Craig Wright as Satoshi Nakamoto on: May 23, 2019, 09:14:49 AM
So, the announcement that says U.S copyright office recognizes Craig Wright as satoshi is not really officially announced by, and it was just announced by Craig's spokesman? Unbelievable, Craig never stops to amuse me, he never stops to make an action that will make him as a clown in crypto community.  Cheesy

In most probability, that is what happened here. Just filing the copyright claim for him means he is now the owner of the Bitcoin  WhitePaper and all the rights inherent with it. Wrong move. Craig Wright never amazes us all with all of his funny actions and even comments which the media loves to play with. He is a good joker, to say the least. I am sure that someone will contest this registration and a big and enjoyable war can ensue. The man is just downright crazy but then he is making money along the way especially with his BSV which pumped two days ago due to the copyright claim news.

So at the end of the day, we could be laughing at him while he is actually laughing to the Bank of Wright or Wrong!
2152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Bitcoin Transaction on: May 23, 2019, 09:03:05 AM
Hi guys, I need your feedback. We're developing a product. Sending, receiving Bitcoin internationally, getting paid in Bitcoin is always FREE, instant, and secure. You know, with a regular bitcoin wallet there are mining and transaction fees while sending Bitcoin. We won't charge any fee. So it's different from other services and wallets. Also, it's different from Lightning Network because it's very simple to use it. The receiver's email and the app are enough to send Bitcoin.
  • What do you think about that?
  • Would you use it? If you don't, can you explain why?
  • What features would encourage you to use this service?

If your transactions are done on the chain and not in some online wallets in which you simply move balances then your transactions can't be FREE. Also, they can't be INSTANT since the customer has to wait for at least one confirmation to move the funds.
Are you planning to pay for those from your own pocket? I'm not sure how you plan on doing this.

So,

1) Unless you tell us more about how you plan to achieve this, I'm a bit suspicious
2) Why would I use a service to send bitcoins when I can simply send them myself?
3) None really, I'm against using and trusting a 3rd party when it comes to irreversible transactions.

How can bitcoin transactions be free when all has to be confirmed by miners? Unless there is now a technology for bitcoin that can do away the confirmation job of the miners then maybe this is possible and feasible. So maybe OP should expound on this some more here. I am always open for any innovation especially one that is using the word "free" and "fast" but if this is just a hype or if there are strings attached then this may not be for me. Let's give the space needed by OP for more explanation.

2153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTW US Govt does NOT recognize anybody as Satoshi on: May 23, 2019, 08:25:27 AM
it seems like the "hype" has died as they are now done pumping the shitcoin known as BSV but in case you missed it US copyright office made an official announcement saying they do not recognize anybody, specifically Craig Wright, as Satoshi Nakamoto despite what lots of clickbait news sites have been saying a day ago when the shitcoin pump began.

link: https://www.copyright.gov/press-media-info/press-updates.html

I won't believe anyone claiming to be Satoshi UNLESS he/she/they can move the coins in the wallet that received the Block 1000 reward.

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1BW18n7MfpU35q4MTBSk8pse3XzQF8XvzT

Not even god or the devil can move these coins. Only the real Satoshi Nakamoto can.  Cool

Let's call this the Block 1000 challenge  Grin

This should be the litmus test for Craig Wright and we should never accept any explanation or any ground why he can't move those wallets. Of course, being a man of lies and many bad jokes, he will try to explain things away. In my opinion, Craig Wright is just manipulating the whole industry and the media (including the mainstream) for his own interest. And the more attention he got, the happier he is. At any rate, he can be the official entertainer of the whole cryptocurrency industry and since he is not demanding for us to pay him then let's let him do whatever he enjoys to do.
2154  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Craig Wright on: May 23, 2019, 07:04:10 AM
I don't think core devs would even contest this. It would only make it look political and that's the last thing they wanted to avoid. Let CSW do things that would also be his own demise. Like highschool textbooks, he might be written as the founder of bitcoin and be regarded as an intellectual but to us who know the story very well, he's just someone who wanted money, power and tax privlieges (LMAO). He cannot alter bitcoin in any way even though he was granted copyrights so who cares.

I agree. Let Craig Wright do whatever he wanted to do and be the clown for all the media to enjoy with. He craved for publicity and he will do anything to make that happen. The U.S. Copyright Office has already issued some clarifications on the process of filing for the copyright of any document...it is not actually for them to decide for that and that they are just a receiving and filing office. They need to issue such clarification because of the media frenzy Craig Wright just made proclaiming that he now own the copyright of the original Bitcoin WhitePaper. The industry need good leaders but sometimes a clown can come and we can realize that he is not really bad at all in that role.
2155  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-22] US Copyright Office: Craig Wright Not Recognized as Satoshi on: May 23, 2019, 06:50:14 AM

Even as bitoin SV (BSV) enjoyed a Craig Wright/Satoshi bump Tuesday, the U.S. Copyright Office was hard at work dispelling notions that it officially “recognized” anyone as the inventor of bitcoin.

“As a general rule, when the Copyright Office receives an application for registration, the claimant certifies as to the truth of the statements made in the submitted materials. The Copyright Office does not investigate the truth of any statement made,” the Copyright Office wrote in a press release. “In a case in which a work is registered under a pseudonym, the Copyright Office does not investigate whether there is a provable connection between the claimant and the pseudonymous author.”

All it takes to register a copyright is $55 and a stable internet connection. In short, any claim that the U.S. government has registered Wright as the author of bitcoin are spurious at best. Why did the government go to the trouble of clarifying this point? Wright’s actions required it. On Tuesday, a press representative sent a widely read release that suggested, in short, that the government accepted Wright was Satoshi.

Oh, its good to know that the whole mess is now being clarified by the very office where Craig Wright filed his copyright claim for the Bitcoin WhitePaper. This is just another funny moment for the man who will not stop at anything until every man and woman in this world will believe and maybe worship him as the real Nakamoto Satoshi. In fact, he can have the copyright if he wanted to but it will not have any bearing with Bitcoin network which is own by nobody. The Craig Wright saga is getting strange and all he is spewing is some comedic value worth watching as an entertainment at its best. I am sure the pump experienced by BSV will soon wither with this clarification. Anybody here made some money with the sudden BSV pump?

2156  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-22]Circle Sheds 10% of Workforce as CEO Blames Restrictive US Regulator on: May 23, 2019, 06:40:25 AM
Interesting timing, considering the recent rise in price.

Does anyone remember when Circle exited the Bitcoin brokering business? At the time, they and Coinbase were the two biggest onboarding platforms in the US. Almost directly after they cut off their services, the 2017 bubble erupted.

I wonder what'll happen this time, now that they seem to be getting financially squeezed again.

This must be a very uncanny coincidence that can be tell-tale sign of many good things to come for Bitcoin. The reason the CEO cited can be true as we know that doing crypto-related business in USA can be so restrictive -- remember that for now there is no clear-cut policy of the government for this sector and there is no single law passed that focused on cryptocurrency business and trading. The government is operating under existing laws in dealing with matter of this industry. Another reason can be strong competition and less market share prospect. Let's just hope this will not spill-over to other fintech companies doing business in USA.

2157  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestMixer Signature Campaign | Sr. Members - Legendary | Up to 0.01225BTC on: May 23, 2019, 06:26:11 AM
This is spreading so fast, the news is already been carried by our local newspaper. This guys generate pleasure is spreading only bad news to paint the community bad just so they can discourage more of our country men from joining cryptocurrency as the technology is becoming more popular in the country.

In total, Darknet markets generate some 800 million dollars yearly. Bestmixer.io’s clients are from all the world “with the emphasis on the United States, Germany and the Netherlands,” said FIOD.

The probe was launched following a report by the US-based cyber security firm McAfee.

I am sad for the bad news that BestMixer has now stopped operating because Dutch authorities made investigations and later on shut down the whole site, the servers and its related services. I know that mixers are playing big role in making sure that bitcoin transactions remained private and anonymous but this idea along can run counter to the power of the government especially using the anti-money laundering ground. I hope Bestmixer can find the way to get back into business under a different name and using servers in less dangerous country. Good to see that people involved in its promotions in this forum are paid of what is due to them. I also appreciate that Hhampuz is one of the excellent managers we have around.
2158  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-22] Dutch Authorities Shut Down Bestmixer on: May 23, 2019, 06:14:08 AM

Oh well, so the Dutch authorities finally made their move to seize all the things connected with the BestMixer business. And the basis is that with their investigation they uncovered that the service is used to launder illegal or dirty money. That can probably right but I am also sure that many clean transactions are done using the service. I am not here to defend BestMixer because we don't have the verified information under our hands but I believe that if was used as a money laundering front then cases have to be filed in the court so the perpetrators can face justice and that similar services should never allow their platforms to be utilized the same way with BestMixer.

In addition, what about ChipMixer...do you think it is not in danger of getting into the same predicament?

2159  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-22]May to Become Strongest Month for CME’s Bitcoin Futures Trading: Rep on: May 23, 2019, 06:02:58 AM

CME Group, the second global exchange to list bitcoin (BTC) futures, is about to record the biggest trading month for BTC futures trading, industry news outlet The Block reports May 21. The publication has reportedly cited data from an external email from CME.

I am aware that there are people who really believe that bitcoin futures trading is not good for bitcoin. Nevertheless, the surge in the contracts bought in the CME platform is showing us that there is a growing interest for bitcoin and possibly a more positive outlook for the coin otherwise this growing interest will not be happening. Can this trend continue for this year and even into 2020? Yes, there is a big possibility for that especially that the bull run is forming right before our eyes.
2160  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-23] 30% Pullback Could be Imminent for Bitcoin on: May 23, 2019, 05:49:24 AM

Despite facing some levels of volatility over the past week, Bitcoin has now been able to find some stability and is hovering right below the $8,000 level. It is important to note that BTC does face some levels of resistance in the lower-$8,000 region, as it has tried, and failed, on multiple occasions to climb above this region.

Although Bitcoin is clearly in the middle of an uptrend, it is important to note that there is a large chance that a drawback is imminent, and one analyst believes that there may be a 30%+ drop in the near future.

While looking at BTC over a one-month period, it is clear that it is currently forming a consolidation pattern around its current price levels, which may or may not be proceeded by the formation of another upwards leg.

Importantly, analysts do believe that Bitcoin’s next stop may be at $10,000, assuming the cryptocurrency is able to further extend the upwards momentum that it has incurred over the past month.

Further Read: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/05/22/analyst-despite-bitcoins-current-stability-a-30-pullback-could-be-imminent/

I think Bitcoin can be moving for an estimated 30% dip before doing another surge towards $9,000. It means that Bitcoin is giving many people the big chance to enter the bull run at around $6,000+ a window that people should exploit and I am sure that many will including institutional fund managers. Pullbacks are very possible to happen before Bitcoin can go crazy and go into the so-called parabolic state. Are you in agreement with this positive assessment despite the ongoing retracement?
