Weekly Updates are added on the last page. The external link for the full list fixes the weird characters in the titles.

Wouter Mense created Merit counts on "Top-merited recent topics", asking to sort topics based on total Merit received in the entire thread. His reason:

Now imagine a casino with negative house edge, that means the total players' balance increases with each bet they place. It doesn't matter if players are greedy or not: bad luck can bankrupt them instantly, and good luck can multiply their balance a thousand times or more. That can happen with a positive or negative house edge.
A player winning a lot isn't a problem to the casino, as long as the house wins on average. For that, it has a house edge Smiley

As far as I know, most Mods can't ban Legendary members. I barely use "Report to moderator" for plagiarism, it usually leads to the post being deleted instead of the user getting banned.

I took him as an example because I remembered his name. He's one of the users who received a lot of Merit from xandry, who used to give Merit for reporting spam or plagiarism (I don't remember exactly), which was deleted after taking Mod action on the offenders. There's a thread about it somewhere, and he stopped doing this. It's not necessarily abuse, but it was debated and made a nice example of a user with many deleted posts. See xandry's full Merit history for a long list of Merit sent to posts that are now deleted.

High ranking spammers will never earn back their rank thanks to the Merit system. And although the Merit system can't stop the existing spam problem, it stopped it from getting worse.

You (KingZee) seem to be on a tirade against the Merit system. You've been gone from the forum for a while, so you've probably missed that many others did that before you. It's not going to change the Merit system.
In an ideal situation we wouldn't need the Merit system, or even better: all posts would deserve Merit. But we're far from that, and Merit is the best we've got for now.

Jokes aside, it's all pretty straight forward, anyone who knows any real programming language can easily do it. All you need is full Merit data (currently 6 MB), you can scrape the rest.

For finding abuse, the merited deleted posts are the most interesting part. And that's something I can only find by scraping the entire post history, modlog doesn't show it when a user deletes his own post.

What's with the quote pyramids? There is no technical reason to quote yourself for the scraper to pick up your posts (if anything, quotes make scraping more work). And if you do quote yourself to keep a complete list, why don't you delete the old posts? Now you're just spamming the same spam many times.
Did you know you can clean up your post history by deleting all old spam posts? That's what CryptopreneurBrainboss did too.

The 1000 BTC GIVEAWAY! From your friend rekcahxfb (ignore the red trust, that's from after the account got hacked) raised similar questions. He also dropped some money on a few users and signed a message to prove ownership of funds.
