AnonyMint's answers as to how they could control individuals is on point. It really is that simple folks. I'm not mr doomsday or anything, but I acknowledge the methodology.
2162  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official btcQuick Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: November 20, 2013, 12:57:11 PM
Do you mean how long it takes? All of my transactions with coinbase in the past have been super quick. The past few days they've run into issues because they've been flooded with new users, so I couldn't say if that'll slow it down or not. I'll be using them later today though so we will see..
2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 20, 2013, 12:55:07 PM
Yeah, I really love what KNC has done and am eager to see what new beast they roll out. At the same time, it may come down to who can ship first..
2164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 20, 2013, 12:36:17 PM
@Bitcoinorama, any idea on when KNC will open up orders again?

They are basically adhering the network protection statement thing they promised not to destroy the hashrate unless any competition get greedy.

With that in mind it is unlikely to be this side of '14.

It makes no sense to harm current customers and those from the Nov batch.

Also they want to keep improving the design, get the pool up and running and give everyone here a chance to breath. This has been quite mentally and physically demanding. Hosting needs to expand etc. there is no shortage of work to do. I have plenty of content I've been working on for the site that needs some backend work before uploading, problem is it's not a current priority, and none of the guys I need to complete this are free to do so. I'd also like to work on my own pool for the guys who aren't in hosting, I have some cool ideas there...

Thanks, that's about what I figured. With most competitors releasing 2TH units in the next few months, should we expect to see KNC outdo those speeds when they do release something?
2165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup rev 2 ( green pcb ) on: November 20, 2013, 05:24:15 AM
  Hey...
How did you run power to the board?
I took a 4-pin-molex which was to power 2 sata. I snipped stripped and did as you see. 4 blacks; 2 yellows.
Cant get the access via the webserver .
The led flashes once in a blue moon.

my router is setup, to end its dhcp server at 254, i just ungraded it to include 254. I still cant get access to the webserver. my internal ip is 192.168.2.xxx
ive tried new ethernet cables, still cant wrapped my head around it.. thanks
 rob
 this is my power

my board

It's your IP setting probably, default blade address is 192.168.1.254, but you're on 192.168.2.x

As long as your router is a switching router, just change on of your computer's IPs to 192.168.1.x (x = unused IP, say 20 or something), and then try connecting to the blade at http://192.168.1.254:8000
2166  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is the One World Currency of the NWO on: November 20, 2013, 05:20:37 AM
Why would the NWO want a currency that they don't control.

^-- lol.

A DNA record of financial transactions for everyone on the planet

Control the exchange and use and you control the people

Does it need any further explanation?
2167  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 20, 2013, 05:00:16 AM
Here I go again with another feature request.

Settings profiles so we can save different kinds for different market conditions. Also for there to be several immutable stock presets profiles for different conditions, too.

Put it in a drop down menu like Windows classic desktop themes were.

You and I sound alike. See Pablo, he's requesting the same stuff I did haha. Power in numbers!
2168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: November 20, 2013, 04:47:46 AM
Off the top of my head, try this from the bfgminer folder:

bfgminer -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u slushworker -p slushpass --http-port 8332

(substitute whatever port you setup in your blades server settins for 8332 if necessary)

If that works, I can show you a simple script to make it work easier.

2170  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 19, 2013, 08:25:02 PM
This situation is the very reason I had mentioned a bot-idea to Pablo in the past, regarding backtesting--being able to select same-day testing (only), or a time frame  so you could specify the previous day or 2 up to present.

This way if things didn't go how you would've liked, you could twiddle with settings to find what would've been better, and then make a note of those settings for future flux.

Hopefully it is a feature Pablo can make happen Wink
2171  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 19, 2013, 08:00:14 PM
So, the bot didn't do very well for me in this latest bit of volatility... I'm on BTCe with the stock settings.
The high point was recorded at over $800, but the crossover didn't occur until many hours later. It eventually sold me out at $498.
At the time of writing, price is rising back up pretty quickly, but I'm in fiat now! Presumably it'll buy me back in soon, but I will have missed out on about $70 and will have less BTC than I had before.

It's fairly understandable that the bot would be blindsided by such violent swings in price, but I'm not sure why it took so much longer to sell me out. Obviously, I'm not saying it's the bot's fault, it's just going on the EMA settings I have. I don't really understand how EMA is calculated so I just have to trust it to do it's thing.

I've been trying to experiment with settings, but the backtesting doesn't seem to correlate with live trades. I have no idea why that is - according to the backtester, I should still be in BTC. Perhaps it's delayed?

Plenty of settings have been posted on the forum, but it seems that the volatility of the market plays quite a huge role. In this current market, I've missed a lot of opportunities.
Does anyone have any suggestions for profiting while BTC is up and down in this yo-yo style manner? Other than 'stop using the bot', obviously.
Any settings that are likely to take advantage of quicker dips and rises?
I'm not too sure what I'm asking for here, but some guidance would be appreciated.

I'm using the "recommended" settings for BTC-e, and my bot sold me out @ $499, similar to you, now the market's back up, & I'm with fiat. I'm afraid I'll end up with less BTC than I had before after this now once it buys in at a higher price eventually.

Pablo, these "recommended" settings are no good if this is what they're going to do! I need some better settings.

Could someone recommend some settings that would sell closer to the peak of $800 than $499, and still buy low, please? I don't understand EMA enough to come up with them myself.

Pablo, this is the kind of bad trading I hope the devs can code a better way to protect against. Maybe they don't need to code anything- maybe I just need better settings, I don't know.

All I know is I just lost a bunch of money & I don't like it.

I don't have any of my settings on hand but if I can get to them later I'll give you some to see if they might help. Best thing to do is to lower your EMA's and play with the timing to make sure you're not real far behind the curve--that's if you're going to let your bot manage it entirely.

Example, when I saw the volatility today, I killed my BTCE bot but let the MTGox one go (as it had settings geared more toward the flux). BTCE had already sold high for me, so I was sitting nice when I killed it as I was holding very low. I then purchased manually on a second downswing and am holding until I can get time later to work on new BTCE settings.

Sometimes you need to keep an eye out on this stuff.. hope your luck changes. The good news folks, is that BTC is going to keep going up.
2172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 19, 2013, 07:08:34 PM
I hope it will crash...

I'd like to buy.

 Grin

I was going to buy at Coinbase today but my account got frozen because their authentication vendor (Authy) couldn't handle the load and now hundreds of Coinbase customers are locked out of their accounts.

One thing is for sure..

there's never a dull moment in our lives with this mess.

I prefer coinbase, but they only take Visa cards.
2174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA made Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2013, 06:28:31 PM
Here's what I think... BitCoin was made by the NSA to crack codes.

All of the private keys that were easy have already been cracked.  Now we are cracking harder ones, and thus they are becoming more valuable.

It is a free market solution to help them snoop on tougher and tougher encrypted things.

Of course, I could be wrong, or it could just be the paint thinner talking.  But wouldn't that be awesome?

This entire premise is based on such an absurd misunderstanding of mining that I'd never imagined was even possible.

Phoenix told me to relax and and chill and they should arrive as expected, but it's hard to plan your whole day when you don't know what's going on. So I call the main people involved who are supposed to know what's going on UPS. I give them my tracking numbers and I hear, ummm, errrr, derrrr, errrrr, ummmmm, hmmmmmmm, errrrrrr, then I just cut in and say you have no idea what's going on do you? And their typical response well there was an exception (yes, that's what I told you when I called and calling about) but it doesn't say when they will be delivered. I confirmed with them. You are the shipping company that has my shipments and are telling me out right you don't know when they will be delivered? Yes, I don't know. Man, does that instill confidence in that company or what. Original delivery day was Wednesday, November 20th. By the end of the day. UPS can now deny or confirm any delivery date at all and has no additional information on the packages. I have been told if I want to put an "investigation" on it would need to come from the shipper. Soon as I heard that I knew I had a better chance of winning the pick 6 lotto here, so I just hung up the phone and went back to being pissed off.

Have you or anyone else thought of logging into the UPS site and simply setting an alert (via email, text, etc) for updates on your tracking numbers? It's really easy.

Then sit back and wait until it's Stateside.

You guys really need to ease off the refresh button and just let the shipments arrive to you. Does any of this make it arrive quicker? No..

Similar ideas have been proposed before.

If anyone saw the show Stargate Universe, remember they used crowd-sourced brainpower to solve algorithms. Same idea.

Stargate Universe?  Really?

wow you must have gotten the brand name paint thinner.  I've just been drinking this home depot brand bullshit.

Yes, that's it, pointing to a storyline which used crowd-sourced crypto and brainpower to provide solutions is really out there.

No bottom shelf thinner here my boy, just top shelf.

Roll Eyes

On the fedex/ups talks, I use both regularly. UPS never fails me for normal deliveries or even 2nd-day or same day air. FedEx next day and same day air is also good.

However, normal ground deliveries? FedEx blows.

I know it's not a consolation, but I ordered a curtain rod last week and used FedEx. The shipment came from one state, passed by my house, went to another state, went back past my state, and then got left in a fedex courier facility where it's sat for 4 days.

They're still trying to assess the issue.

The issue was I used FedEx.

I'm about to receive my first blade,so this following question will be noobish, but please bear with me.

Can I connect the blade to the PSU of my active PC?(it is a corsair 850W and has only one gpu running on it,so it should have enough free power)
Or is it dangerous?
Should I buy a new PSU just to play it safe?
Thanks in advance.

You can connect it to your PSU it'll be safe, just make sure the wiring is long enough so the blade isn't within a foot of your computer. Make sure you follow the wiring tips on this thread, specifically, if you're going to use the basic PSU wiring, double up on the ground wiring.
