KNC KURT Today, 11:35 AM at KNC Forum
To dive straight into your questions, this Plan B hosting facility is going to be utilizing the 28nm chip and not the 20nm for the Neptune miners. This is being built so that we do not follow the trends of our competition, by under delivering or simply not delivering at all. We are still working out many of the details regarding Plan A and plan B , but as of this moment, our main focus is the development our 20nm chip.

Funny, for almost 60 days now his competition has been shipping.

Update I was working on reviewing code, but have been pulled away because of work. If I can come back to it I will.

I'm reviewing the code now.

And I rarely drink, so can I trade ahmed's drinks and my drinks in for a concubine? I can support only 1 more. Smiley

Ahmed, thanks for the link.

Fuse, is this not the exact thing I told you about in chat lastnight? That it's likely due to some inexperienced developer tweaking settings to make the coin more responsive, and trying to sell it off as a feature? I'm buying a lotto ticket tonight.. I'm like 10 for 10 this week.

Action item: Look into the TAG code.

I don't mind doing this sometime today or tomorrow, but I'm guessing someone else here will beat me to it.

That's just WILD... thanks.
After all this time... lol.
Just be aware BTC in will NOT equal BTC out
Can you explain this to me?
If he paid $10,000 and at the time that was only 9BTC and now he is refunding what will he get?

1.  9BTC (worth about $5850)
2.  $10,000 / $650 = 15.4 BTC

#2.

KNC has given out refunds in BTC about 5 times now.

Something else to keep in mind, a lot of coins are permutations of each-other and at times, poor ones at that. As I mentioned to Fuse yesterday, it's possible that some code snippets have been taken out over time by folks, not knowing they were important, which later led to issues like this.

If there have been nefarious actions against TAG specifically, it could be due to its popularity and stable price. It has remained concrete-stable despite volatility for the past 5 months. That is noteworthy.

This may or may not matter to the developer from a business standpoint, as long as there's a few MH, transactions will still work for the "rewards" system.

Mark can do this with his farm... smart move.  Grin

Exactly my point.

Brief overview of negative retarget with sublinks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395940.0

Ahmed, it's certainly worth investigating a negative retarget situation. Is it simple a matter of a pool being ahead in time and then mining some coins to check? Cuz I can easily do that, and will volunteer one of my private pools for it if anyone wants to pop blocks fast.

In keeping with some of the coins in the world, I've noticed a few of them have had previously-confirmed (defined as confirmed and paid for a very long time, not just recent) blocks suddenly turn orphan, usually not a string of them either (indicating a fork), but just a sparse 1 or 2. Very odd. What's more odd is this occured across several coins around the same timeframe. Could just be an odd bug (or nothing at all) but worth mentioning.

With TAG, I've been following it and some other "stuff" in the netheregions of the internet, and my overall estimation is that something "isn't quite right" though I can't say what.

One thing is for sure, TAG hashrate has dropped by 70% in the past 2 days. So while it is worth noting the asian market is trading in greater volumes, the network is slowly dying out/collapsing. This may or may not matter to the developer from a business standpoint, as long as there's a few MH, transactions will still work for the "rewards" system.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 12, 2014, 03:34:19 PM
Is that what they promised? only mining 5%?

Yes, in several of the beginning news letters/postings, and it was stated many times in this forum as well as through email by them, and most recently a few pages back.

Can someone please post the "news brief" explaining how they wouldn't build or sell anything for most of Q1 so previous buyers could stay competitive?

Had nothing to do about competition according to them.

The mood around here with most customers isn't good (you could see things differently), and the fact that bictoinorama hasn't been posting isn't a good sign.
yeh sure he's logging in to bitcointalk but he hasn't posted a word, making it look even more suspicious that KNC are up to no good.
I'm thinking that orama most probably knows KNC's intentions but hasn't got the heart to post a load BS just to cover up for KNC, even if he's on the payroll.

Think about it, would you.

I know this, I'm one of the very few for the past 1,000 pages who've known about this stuff and predicted it long, long ago. I called them out on their bad business practices and poor customer service about 90 days ago.

They officially announced, a few pages back and through email and the newsletter, that they've basically put their foot down and do  not feel obligated to meet any of the demands which you just mentioned. Do you or anyone else hold them by their balls? Well then, having a countdown clock or stomping your foot won't do anything. In fact, they have everyone else by the balls. This has all been explained awhile back. It seems like folks are still slow to catch up.

RE refunds, their policy since day 1 has been to offer refunds for products up until the time of shipping, but they also held claim to changing that if necessary, which they have for Batch 3. (Some call it batch 2). They're exercising their rights, they're not doing anything wrong. It's up to the consumer to read the print and terms of agreement at time of purchase.

At best you could say their TOS were in breach when they failed to produce upgrade modules for 2013 Batch's 1 and 2, and have rescinded making them for batches 1 & 2 Neptune. Also, when they failed to uphold the NPS, which most folks here agree on, but nobody is taking legal action so far, at least that has been mentioned.

And.. the customer is most certainly not always right, that's such a silly phrase. A customer stomping their foot because they can't get what they want, doesn't make them right.

1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 12, 2014, 01:35:37 PM
I think this is a good indicator they have been mining the f'#k since October. 5% my a$$. I'm sure it's just semantics. Sam's wife probably paid 1 krona for 1000 Jupiters in their existing datacentre and hence, on paper, it's not knc mining more than 5%. Something like that, I'm sure.

Yup, I've been saying this. They can easily and legally say that they as "KNC" aren't mining with more than 5%, all the while having bought their own equipment for like a buck, mining the heck out of it at home.

I think we should start a clock (and petition) with time lines on what/when we what from KNC.  If we don't get realistic updates on what's happening with our orders then we should demand refunds.  And I also think it doesn't matter if you're a batch 0, 1 or 2, to just write in a TOS that you're batch 2 and you're not entitled to refund is BS (and probably illegal) especially if product you've ordered has even started production.  if product information is misleading then they don't have a leg to stand on.. We are the customers and customers are always right.

What have you been smoking? It seems to be premium stuff.

Have you guys had a previously-confirmed block (or more than one) turn orphan hundreds or thousands of confirmations later? That's always fun.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 11, 2014, 07:53:31 PM
I agree with timmers. They needed lots of crowdfunding to get their empire going, and they have done that.

Congrats to everyone!! Like the many who died building the Great Wall of China, you too can lay your claim to having helped stand-up KNC .
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 11, 2014, 07:51:00 PM
There have been like 3-4 new coins launched in the past 24 hours, that's probably why. Many coins have lost hashrate in the past few hours because of this, even LTC lost like a GH.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 11, 2014, 04:42:52 PM
I don't see modules being offered at this juncture...  it's just too late to be cost-effective for either KNC or the customer.
I'd be shocked & amazed if I'm wrong.
If they kept the price just high enough to take a small profit, it would be far over the current competitions $/Gh/s   imho... and a hard sale.
If they do, it would be just to fulfill a promise to customers.
and no, they don't collect or accept BTC from equipment sales... they use BitPay, and receive cash in their bank account, which is why refunds are given in fiat to your bank. That argument has long since been "hashed-out" in here.  Wink

BTW.....
Happy page 1500 KNC

I don't see them being offered at all simply so they don't have to bother with them, but price-wise they can make profit and sell them so that we could also make profit. They simply won't.

If you figure a November Jupiter inventory cost is roughly $1,000USD, take out $15 for casing, $100 for controller/wiring, you're left with modules roughly under $220/ea.

I don't have access to a calculator right now but if they sold modules for 120-140GH @ $300/ea, everyone is a winner. But they don't want to do that. Too much hassle, and too much increase of network hashrate which will hurt their datacenter plans.

1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 11, 2014, 03:39:07 PM
Holding on to the hope or dream they are going to stop manufacturing for your benefit is silly...  They're not in this to lose.
and yeah, the diff-rise is no secret... so I totally don't know what the point is....
other than... "hurry up and deliver..."  ?

Wholly agree, this is what I've been saying. Just commenting that KNC has been downplaying any asic manufacturer and diff rise in correspondence to people over the past 90 days, saying it basically didn't exist. Another example of their clear shift toward OEM-based focus, not wanting to deal directly with customers.
1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 11, 2014, 02:31:20 PM
so hashrate went up 1/3rd in 30 days?

KNC says it hasn't gone up noticeably at all.

I had someone that is working bulk orders with KNC tell me that Sam Cole himself told him that the hashrate will flatten until they are shipping Neptunes as no one will be introducing significant hashrate into the network.. What is worse is this person didn't understand that the network hashrate isn't a secret as the difficulty is tied to it..

It's on track for another 20% at the next turn and has been doing 20%+ for a while, not sure how KNC can say anything like that as it's showing no signs of slowing down.

Sounds like he may have been misleading the individuals on purpose, and establishing more of their own made-up reasons not to follow through with their NPS claims.

I'm sure more pools would open up if there was confidence in the coin/network, but with the sync issues I'm seeing and others are seeing--issues which are only increasing I might add--confidence is going to teeter.

My estimated network hashrate calculation shows a 30% drop in rate since about 24 hours ago.

I noticed some odd 'didnt send' issues with Blockchain last week also. I wonder if this also relates to our private discussions on the matter? Hrm.

And there's another bugs. If you send like... 70000+ coins, it'll fail to make the transaction.

I rename this to StarBugscoin

Have you re-tried it? I've sent quarter and half million at once without issue.
