2161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Squares -- A place to gamble your favorite altcoins. on: May 19, 2016, 10:20:19 PM
Interested. It will suck for Luigi if not all squares are filled and he has to send back everyone's bets. Or does escrow just get to keep all the bets if that happens Tongue

Yeah... I haven't really figured out what to do if that happens... this might be a little tougher than I thought  Cry well shit... Roll Eyes

Any ideas?

Use 0.1 BTC and bet a mbtc on every square, and allow more than one person to buy the same square, then split winnings proportionally to how many tickets each winner had on that square.

Or just offer to buy the board out of whatever isn't bought when it's time to close betting.

2164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Node count for Alt coins? on: May 18, 2016, 07:11:58 PM
Thanks qwizzie, I remember seeing a long list of IPs a while ago, but wasn't aware there was a breakdown by ISP now, I'd only seen that for BTC at 21's site I think. Thanks for not being more of a douchebag, I guess, Macrochip Tongue

Interesting to see ETH with 2k more nodes than BTC. Too bad they don't break them down by ISP.

Edit: since Macrochip brought it up:
https://monerohash.com/nodes-distribution.html
No breakdown by ISP there either tho...
2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Node count for Alt coins? on: May 18, 2016, 06:24:25 PM
I think I actually saw somewhere that ETH had overtaken BTC in number of nodes recently. Also, re: dash, how many are run on Amazon or Azure servers? You can parse the list of node IPs versus known Amazon or Azure IP ranges to estimate how many are running on centralized 3rd party VPSs, but I don't think you will find that information compiled publicly and available anywhere.

Is there a coin specific White Paper I can read? Seems interesting.

Pablo.

Seems like a fork of ducknote/darknote/digitalnote, which is a fork of Bytecoin.
2168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: POLONIEX is probably the next exchange to go down on: May 18, 2016, 01:18:14 PM
When an exchange is shut down by authorities (in this case SEC), is the exchange not committed to let the user payout their coin balances?

I guess you will only lose if the exchange has some financial problems.

IANAL but if an exchange was shut down by some authority, don't you think it could take months (or longer) to get any coins out? And coins that predominantly trade on that exchange may have dramatically changed in value (for better or for worse) by the time you are able to withdraw?
2169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 17, 2016, 01:09:36 AM

Need SOME excitement, anyway, with these low volumes.

2170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Execoin: | First Open-Source Stealth Wallet Released! | Fast | ASIC-proof on: May 16, 2016, 05:04:39 PM
There is no need to change, ScryptN is Ok)

Should at least start a new thread and take "ASIC-proof" out of the title, since knc Titans have been hashing scrypt-n for quite some time now then. (I say start a new thread because I'm pretty sure original dev has long since abandoned ship and no one can change this one anymore.)

Neoscrypt is OK, but multi algo seems to be all the rage lately. The originator, myriadcoin, is still chugging along, and recent converts include verge, Aurora, and anoncoin. Even theymos mentioned multi algo as a possible solution to Bitcoin's ASIC issue recently.

Troll activity possibly at an all-time high. Is that a buy signal? Sell signal? Smoke signal? Traffic signal?

Can we get a screen shot or two in the OP?

Sad that the mods deleted the Turkish and Croatian ANN's. Was any explanation given?

Both said that they deleted because translations were clearly Google translate.

Hello
i want to ask something does mining a specific algorithm rise the diff of the another algorithms within the same range of the first one

No each algorithm adjusts its difficulty independently.

Messing around with logo:

None of them scale to low res well at all. It's really not easy to make something simple that is attractive that scales well to low-res. Starting to appreciate nzsquirrell's logo much more Smiley

Has any coin implemented multi-PoW with a PoS compenent at this point?

Probably should remove the "now listed on cryptsy" from the topic title  Grin

Also, every exchange in the OP is dead, only trading on cryptopia now. Does anyone even have access to the thread?
