2161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on transgender only events? on: June 25, 2022, 10:58:42 AM
I don't think so. It's a niche market so to speak. And even if it did develop into mainstream one day, it's going to take a LOOONNG time. Just considering the fact that there's still a part of the population that's against transgenders, you can already see that the market it has would be pretty small. Not that I'm saying the event is bad or anything, just that prejudice for it still exists. But yea, beyond that, if the game is entertaining and the competition exists, given time it should be able to build it's own market.
2162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think the market will take to recover? on: June 25, 2022, 06:48:51 AM
The market should be able to gradually recover, just that if you were to ask when the market could reach the peak, I reckon it wouldn't come till the next halving. We would probably see a pretty long period of steady movement, maybe a gradual increase even but it wouldn't be a sudden pump or anything imo. Just DCA in here imo, it's the best time since we're not going to see the peak any time soon so almost this entire period is pretty good as a time to invest.
2163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Type of Gambler Am I? on: June 25, 2022, 04:36:50 AM
Let's go Casuals! I might be included in some other categories really since I probably would not admit it, but of the ones I admit, I'd be put in the Casual gamblers. I don't think much about money, how much I can earn, or how much I spend or should spend, I just tend to have fun and enjoy some games. If it was sports gambling it may be a bit different though since I consider gambling on that one as a side objective or something since I mainly focus on and enjoy the games itself.

I guess I can go Serious gambling when it comes to poker or blackjack though. It is kinda competitive sometimes.
2164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Can Fail and Will Touch Be US $ 13k Dollar? on: June 25, 2022, 02:53:39 AM
It's not impossible that's for sure. The market sentiment right now is mostly negative, even if we consider how many people are actually thinking/hoping that there would be a bounce back after the drop to $20k, we haven't exactly seen it happen so we might not have bottomed out yet. If the constant sideways keeps happening though, I think the chances of us going below $15k would probably gradually reduce. We won't be seeing anything past the ATH ($69k) until the next ath though imo. And I reckon the next one wouldn't go past much $69k, maybe at most $100k.
2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn-to-Earn tokens another pyramid scheme? on: June 25, 2022, 12:36:59 AM
Isn't this already a thing? Like well, generally I mean. I've participated in a bunch of studies and whatnot that gave me a quick buck after like studying their materials and answering their survey questions by the end. If the learn to earn crypto model follows the same style, I don't think it's going to be an issue.

The demand here would come from players wanting to earn and the people who would supply would be organizations or industries that would want to perform a specific study, is how I would imagine it. Most x-to-earn models only really feel like a scam since their coins are hyped to the heavens and beyond, I'd see it more as a stable type really, well at least those that I've tried anw.
2166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you trust a gambler with your money/savings? on: June 24, 2022, 04:18:24 PM
gambling is not psychological disorder because it is a competition that earns money which whenever it happens money involved so I would like to say that addiction of alcohol will contribute to psychological disorder why addition in Ros can also contribute for psychological disorder because the function is limited like function of gambling gambling is just to a process of getting money from another person due to arguments and prove so I don't think that it can cause disorder but it will make you to lose whatever thing you have if you are totally addicted to it.
Compulsive* Gambling IS a psychological disorder, but it's not only that. It's like a mashed up ball of mental, emotional and social stress. They're almost always together or rather very similar to SUDs mostly because the symptoms of not being able to stop is always felt. In this case though, instead of intakes, it's more like your brain itself makes you want to gamble more.

Edit: I meant compulsive, thanks to @lionheart78
2167  Economy / Speculation / Re: “When” Will Bitcoin Price Break $69k All Time High? on: June 24, 2022, 04:13:38 PM
I'd reckon it's going to take years before Bitcoin bounces back to ath levels. As the article said, the drop from $6k to $20k is pretty big and we're not really seeing any recovery at the moment, and I doubt we will.

The most waited time frame would be the halving season again, it's never failed before in showing that Bitcoin would hit new heights during it after all.
2168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Better than DCA is DCAing when fear is high on: June 24, 2022, 11:59:21 AM
Those who know charts can find proper bottom and do dca there but for simple folks fear and greed index is enough: https://alternative.me/crypto/fear-and-greed-index/
A "proper bottom" doesn't really exist imo, it only ever appears or is discovered after it passes so yea, it really isn't a metric I'd use in DCA. Heck DCA should be done regardless of time/price, it's all about trusting an asset to develop in the long term. I would definitely recommend DCA on Bitcoin, but never on altcoins. DCA is the idea of slow and steady wins the race imo, it's not something to rush or to use to get rich quick.
2169  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos Vs Ethereum Casinos on: June 24, 2022, 09:46:50 AM
Isn't ETH like pretty bad if you were to consider the transaction fees right now? Nit to mention the development of LN which if implemented, solves the issue of speed and cost of transaction for Bitcoin.

Not that it's probably going to matter, most casinos accept multiple currencies and most users would opt to use currencies with low af fees like xrp/litecoin/etc. But yea if we're picking between the two, Bitcoin casinos all the way.
2170  Economy / Gambling / Re: KYC casino or no-KYC casino, but with no bonuses/no cashback? on: June 24, 2022, 04:00:39 AM
I mostly prefer KYC'ed casinos, even if you don't add the benefits and bonuses that they have. I'm not particularly against it since KYC does help in ensuring that you get a generally good experience with the casino. Ofc checking the casino and it's rep out beforehand is something I'd always do.

The idea of my identity getting out is always a thing, but that's the case as well for other stuff I've KYC'ed on. I just tend to be careful whenever something pops out that seems like it knows me but I have no recollection of doing it.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you trust a gambler with your money/savings? on: June 23, 2022, 11:04:17 PM

Questions for discussion
- Are gamblers eligible to hold financial positions?
- Do problem gamblers deserve a second chance to hold a financial position?
This is a case by case scenario problem here imo. If all gamblers had problems handling money, I swear gambling would've been banned long long ago. And I wouldn't really give a gambler a second chance, most of their bad habits come from compulsiveness and that isn't anything closely similar to a simple mistake, no, it's way worse.

It's kinda dumb though how he recruited him based on friendship and not resume. It's all good to help a friend BUT this was a retail owner position. Friend or not,  they should've checked his credentials and work experience properly first.
2172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 23, 2022, 06:12:19 AM
I don't think casinos going online could help the current state of casinos in Macau, there'd already casinos that own that space or are dominant compared to other competitors. Not that it wouldn't bring positive though, just that the effects would be rather minimal.

As for government owned casino, well it isn't something impossible but I don't think it'd grow that much or potential. We already have a lot of casinos out there imo.
2173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which crypto sportbooks are VPN friendly on: June 23, 2022, 12:20:03 AM
I think most casinos wouldn't outright ban you for using VPN, the issue comes when there's a problem and then they detect you using VPN. It's basically saying "someone did something wrong, and they're hiding themselves". That's a straight up red flag if you ask me.

There's also the issue of KYC since if your nationality don't add up, well that's grounds for you being banned.
2174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mind Over Matter In Gambling Using Pendulum on: June 22, 2022, 02:03:27 AM
Do you believe that you can actually predict future events like horse racing and boxing match with the use of Pendulum.
I think this is silly, when it comes to betting the only thing that can beat the odds is your knowledge of the game/sport, plus everything is random and unpredictable (if we disregard the technical criteria among the participants).
I honestly think it's a real thing BUT they do tend to, well, forget about all the wrong predictions done. So really, it's NOTHING impossible, even someone can predict a thousand matches and if he got 1 or 2 right, then he can also say that he, well, predicted a match no? But well it is a confidence booster for some people to actually trust their prediction to something else, it's like a sense of relief that the burden is removed from your shoulders.
I believe that people who make use of these "techniques" are much more interested in becoming popular or making illicit money from it than in making a profit using it for themselves.
Probably popularity. Though it's honestly going to be short lived in these cases imo.
2175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: National Sports and Sports Betting on: June 21, 2022, 01:36:40 PM
National sports in PH keeps changing, It was sipa before and now change to arnis even though the majority of people didn't have idea about it and whose deciding for it.

The government is not prioritizing our sports industry so what's more for promoting our own and give a dedicated national tournament for it and televised for the public awareness.
Though tbf, the change to arnis seems to have given more traction to it? I've seen some local tournaments of arnis before in my college in the past few years afaik. I guess that's one step to it but I don't think it's going to reach the levels of basketball or the like honestly with how much the government isn't really doing anything about it. Most of the people that support it's development are enthusiasts and they can only do so much imo.
Cockfighting should be the national sports since most Filipino loves it while the government gets a huge pile of money from its tax.  Cheesy
Can't deny that. I can't really see how it's so amusing though tbh.
2176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 21, 2022, 04:05:57 AM
But they don't limit the tourists that come in? I guess that's where the bulk of casino users come from if they were to let casinos stay open and yet close down restaurants (which is still odd imo, but eh whatever). Though then again it's understandable since as the article said, the majority of the income they get is from casinos. They might just be doing this since they're still on the testing phase, they might also close down casinos later on if the results prove to be on the bad/worse side.
2177  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitcoin roulete on: June 21, 2022, 01:35:47 AM
There should be casinos that have it right? Probably not based on the next block hash though. There are instances where the forum has hosted a few of those afaik but those were hosted by trusted members so people were willing to play it. Hardly doubt anyone who's unknown would have much traction with it imo.

I don't think casinos would implement it and even if they did, it's probably going to be a lottery type of thing? Since the results would take a few minutes to reach, unlike with normal roulettes where you just spin and spin away with no concern for duration/time.
2178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best time to buy or wait a little bit ? on: June 20, 2022, 01:45:53 PM
Put it lower as you said. I would probably invest more at $15k, right now I'm still following my DCA routine but if it goes below $15k, I might just invest more to take advantage of the dump. Not planning to sell even if Bitcoin goes below $10k though, it'd be kinda dumb to let it sit at a loss. As for your strat, it might be better to DCA it instead of waiting for a price point, maybe a weekly DCA instead of month if you're pressed to invest it all but if not then the usual monthly DCA would probably work wonders imo.
2179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: National Sports and Sports Betting on: June 20, 2022, 06:36:48 AM
For the PH I have never seen an instance of gambling with our national sport. Heck, if I were to be asked what sport would be where people most bet on, it wouldn't even be basketball or the like, I'd go for cockfighting (which was recently banned, so it might be changed really but the norm is like that here imo). Famous sports as others have said would be basketball though.

Basketball and billiards are really my favorite sports here and in fact, I can say I'm good at that sports during my prime. Smiley
I've been in love with billiards recently after I watched clips of the Magician (Efren) lately. Man, I'm still dumbfounded how this hasn't really been in the media like basketball or the like. I know the sports isn't for everyone but man, at least give it some coverage that's worth his reputation at least.

I guess that's Rugby? I'm not sure if it's just a typo or the name of the sports is actually Ruby.
Yea it's probably Rugby. Oddly enough I looked at OP's source and Rugby wasn't even in India's national sport (Correct me if I'm wrong though). India had this instead

2180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: June 20, 2022, 03:41:46 AM
One of the most effective methods here imo is finding a hobby. If you have the money, even taking a vacation somewhere for say 2 weeks to a month without any whatsoever access to the internet or anything related to gambling/casino, e.g a farming area/fishing location where you can put in your time doing those activities instead of anything else for an entire day in that 2-week break. It honestly amazes me how those 2 weeks of being away could be a HUGE help in trying to clear your mind.

If you don't have the money though, a hobby is the way to go. Let's say drawing, it may be said as a hobby but there's also a lot of studying and understanding involved that is going to take up a LOT of your time. Heck, it doesn't even need a hobby you can do, you can maybe start finding content creators on the internet to watch and sink your time in.
