1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: March 26, 2023, 12:52:23 AM
What is the fair percentage of a total max supply that are in circulation that can make you invest in a project? It is fine to avoid a project that has low circulating supply? Why? What about if the project is a brand new project and the use case is killing it?
A supply that actually makes sense with the use case that the project wants to present. I certainly don't see any advantage to investing in a project that has a seemingly infinite number of coins at its release with no plans to balance it out according to their project plans. A big token supply can actually be understandable if the mechanics for it being burned (or something similar) is rather big as well, it's just like any regular good project, just scaled up in terms of token numbers.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual Betting/ Real bet on: March 25, 2023, 02:02:00 PM
After few minutes I decide to take a look into vFootball i could also get some winning over there, Surprisingly i was wipe with their manipulation at this point i just have to quick to wait for the previously bet matches to finished running.

Have you experience the manipulations over vFootball betting?
Though i don't know if this thread already created, If yes then ref here i would be happy to locking this thread.
This is just an assumption though, it's nothing concrete since it's we only have your word for it (and people would be rather dumb if they took the words of an internet stranger as a fact immediately). Honestly though I don't know why you'd bet on Virtual sports, they're basically a simulation and there's nothing really fun about it AND you can't exactly help but assume of manipulation (we'll never know though tbf) since as I said, it's just a simulation.

Can't exactly say whether I've experienced manipulation in virtual bets, on some matches yes, local ones, but other than those then not really.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 25, 2023, 11:48:03 AM
I believe that fraud is the biggest issue that online casinos are facing after settling with the LAW to keep running their businesses, and I believe that the combination of Artificial Intelligence with human assessment will help prevent frauds.

With AI it will be more easier to eliminate frauds and set a stronger level of protection because AI is far more capable of doing the intense cross checking and and more complex security checks, it is a load of work for human to do cross checking themselves as the chance of missing a spot is possible due to tiredness or laziness. All these work load can be shifted to AI and leave the investigation cases to humans to fix.

What else do you think a gambling casino can benefit from using AI technology?
Gambling itself technically has no problem, the legitimacy of casinos is another thing as you said though. It's a rather simple way to set it up though, just let the AI store a database (possible now in ChatGPT with it's plugins feature) of validated gambling casinos (possibly made by legal authorities for better validity). Other than for security purposes though, maybe proper levels of self-exclusion? That would require each casino to setup an AI though, possibly helping in detection of computers that are being used by the same user if possible.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pastor Shuts Down His Church After Winning About $140,000 In Sports Betting.. on: March 25, 2023, 04:30:03 AM
Pfft, well that was quick. Kinda funny how the man himself admitted to other pastors pretty much just doing fake religious stuff. I must say that the stuff about how he got a notif that made him proceed to gamble is kind of like a coverup story to make it seem all accidental or coincidental, sounds bs to me ngl.
Now my question is, As a business or as a career person who is also into gambling/betting, would you quit your current business or career if you won the same amount of money from gambling/betting?
Be sincere and state your reasons for your decision..
Absolutely not. The thing that differs between me to the pastor in question is that I absolutely love what I do. Heck, I'm even learning other stuff that I really like, and no amount of money is going to stop me from learning/doing what I love. It actually opens up a lot more opportunities to learn imo.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 25, 2023, 12:33:39 AM
Here to revive this place, ChatGPT just recently released initial support for ChatGPT plugins. TLDR of this is that it enables the AI to access the internet and search for live data, compared to it's previous model where it was stuck on data before 2021. Watched a code report about it and saw it was also able to store company data to a database, and ChatGPT can basically answer questions about it via accessing said database.

Just with these two capabilities, I reckon it's possible for it to store data across all professional players of a certain sport, assess reports for each individual player, and pretty much reveal statistical data about them, making it a LOT easier for people to understand who is better and what actually makes them better. Now, this may NOT exactly help in making 100% accurate predictions BUT it does open up a lot in terms of basic understanding of teams in a much more easy-to-understand way, but this time, backed with data, and a lot of it.

On a side note, Microsoft recently released a paper about how GPT-4 is also able to be "like" humans, didn't really bother reading it through but for anyone curious, the paper's title is "Sparks of Artificial General Intelligence: Early experiments with GPT-4"
1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 24, 2023, 01:20:23 PM
I hardly think it matters much in the short term, fiat would still be the primarily used payment method by the majority of businesses so no matter how much we hate its model or how weak it is in comparison to Bitcoin, we'd still use it for a lot of payments and whatnot. In comparison, if you don't mind the volatility and just want to stay away from banks, you can move the majority of your funds to Bitcoin and store it in a wallet. The majority is because as I said, a lot of payments would still involve fiat, so it's necessary to keep some for immediate use.

I'd welcome businesses accepting Bitcoin anytime though.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin loan for students in higher institution. on: March 23, 2023, 11:50:33 PM
Good day guys; I said  let me know if the forum have a board where students are being support in education by giving them student loan To help them in education, so many members here I believe are students in various higher institutions so many of them fine it difficult to pay school fee's or pay rented apartment, buy textbooks and hand outs or even feed very well or access to student loan boad, please I want to know if there is any room for students in this forum in universities to access student Ioan, i said let me drop it here because I have not seeing education board.
Don't universities themselves have student loans? I reckon it's just a matter of a lot of paperwork and you'd be able to apply for one. I'd honestly doubt you can find one here since I reckon it's be a pretty big loan, most of the lenders here would probably require collateral or outright not give it.

Plus, I don't think borrowing Bitcoin for a long period of time is good due to how volatile it is, especially if we consider how you're borrowing it as a student loan, which (afaik) only gets paid when you graduate and get work.
1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to accept crypto payments? on: March 23, 2023, 10:24:30 PM
The most easiest way would probably be a payment processor, just hire someone with the know hows of you don't know how to do it or if you're not confident of implementing it.

The other way would be QR code, simple a f as well to setup, just post it at the counter.

Additionally, You can even setup a way for receipt to process once payment is received or is being confirmed, or some other way that can make checking less of a hassle. You might need some IT help there though.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 12:38:54 PM
Most of the time I play Blackjack & Dice.  I have always noticed that when I bet a large amount I am a loser when it comes to Dice.  Also in case of Blackjack when I bet big amount I get wrong card due to which I lose the bet. On the other hand when I bet small amount I win in case of Dice and if I bet small amount multiple times I win multiple times.  In Blackjack, when I bet small amounts, I am always get good cards and win the bets. Thus the cycle continues.  I have noticed that it is not an easy thing to withdraw from having achieved something great. I always gamble for fun with small amounts and lose them but I don't care. But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?
Technically we're always cheated by casinos (and we willingly agree to it though) with their house edge but the issue seems to be another thing here. I wouldn't call it an issue though, you just got unlucky simple as that. If you want to go nitty gritty about the details, small amounts of bets basically increase the number of games you can play, which also spreads out the chances of you winning and losing more compared to one big win. I mean, in cases of a 100 matches with a 50/50 chance, if you lost the first but won the rest, then that's good right? But what if you bet big and lost everything on the first one? It's simple logic like that. Wouldn't call it a cheat, just how it goes when it comes to luck.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 23, 2023, 09:29:33 AM
With how much CBDC's are being developed for use as a legal tender, do you  think there is a future for gambling with CBDC's?

Last year (2022), Macau which is popularly known as the gambling capital of the world due to it's booming casino business were planning to give CBDC's the status other accepted Legal tenders had. It raised the question of it this will prompt casino's in the city to begin accepting CBDC's for gambling?

The government in Macau did not say when;
Quote
The government has not established a deadline for when or which digital currencies will be accepted
But it is something to expect.

If Casino's in Macau begin accepting CBDC's, It may prompt other casino's to follow suit especially in places where CBDC's already have the Legal Tender status.

Gambling Capital of the World Macau to accept CBDC as Legal tender

It's simply fiat, so I don't think theres any reason why it wouldn't be used in gambling. Especially if you consider how the government would have transparency woth regards to which money comes in from where in every gambling business. I doubt crypto casinos would implement it though, unless required by the governing body over them. It technically isn't crypto after all, it's just digital fiat.
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 02:53:07 PM

They're both kinds of used in the table/card games, luck gives you the cards you can use to play while skill decides whether or not to continue the play with the cards you got. You can technically wait till you get a good card in poker and play aggressively with that and that would make poker a game purely based on skill, but because of bluffing, where you have a weak hand and still play like a madman, it would involve a certain level of skill (based on decision making that is).

And slots are well, slots. I don't think there's anything to talk about it.
1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how exchanges list news crypto tokens on: March 22, 2023, 02:35:48 PM
Don't projects simply ask for exchanges to list their tokens? It'd depend from exchange to exchange on how they'd accept them, like requirements, documents, and whatnot. Kinda similar to how you'd officially apply a business to the regulatory group in that area. Pretty sure you can simply look up an exchange and their FAQs page about it to find out the specifics, but they'd probably be quite similar for the most part. Except for well, exchanges that just accept any token (idk if they exist, but there's probably a handful of them out there).
1233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations? on: March 22, 2023, 02:01:44 PM
I think that's something natural, the world we live in is a place full of regulations after all. A place without one would probably be just a barbaric place where strength rules all (with some scheming behind it, but mostly strength). The thing is a centralized and regulated system is supposed to make the lives of those who use it easier and safer, but instead the opposite happens, or somehow an alternate focus of those who implement the system is added, which makes it detrimental to the users when it can exist without those "add-ons".

In Bitcoin's case, I reckon most of those who use it simply just want to stay away from banks and all their bs. Simple as that.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons Why Cytpocurrency Gambling is more Addictive than Fiat Gambling! on: March 21, 2023, 12:43:02 PM
Do you guys think my assessment is to the point or do you think there are more reasons related to cryptocurrency gambling addiction? Please go ahead and reply to this thread. If you have a valid point that I think is related to this thread then I would add it to this topic
Uhh I don't think the medium here matters really, chips or crypto, you can easily convert them to whatever you can immediately use no matter the time. Chips need to be exchanged after leaving the casino so I don't exactly see how it's an issue. If you're gonna argue that crypto is money while chips are only a representation of money then really, the feeling of "satisfaction" only happens when you physically touch money imo, crypto doesn't do that, and I reckon chips are closer to achieving that than crypto.

As for the other two, I'd say I agree with those, though I reckon no KYC is slowly disappearing already from online casinos, a lot of famous ones already require it after all. As for Volatility, well, that's just how it is with crypto.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is a project for all crypto friends on: March 21, 2023, 11:28:29 AM
I see absolutely no reason why we should send the funds to you. Might as well have said to give you free money really. I honestly agree, it is indeed a half-baked idea and was probably something you thought up of while you just woke up or drunk. Even escrow wouldn't help establish trust in an idea like this. If you really wanted something like this try it with your friends, if you have any. They might be more willing to partake in your idea since they know you, but on the internet on a public forum like this? Good luck getting even one.
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can we return the stolen wallet? on: March 20, 2023, 02:25:43 PM
I think the only help most (if not all) of us here can give you is tips and advice with regards to how to manage your wallet (and whatever you store it in) to avoid being hacked. I'd advise having a laptop you'd only ever use for transactions and whatnot so as to avoid instances like this, where even if you do get hacked, it'd only affect your regularly used system which you don't let your wallet access. You can try maybe asking for exchanges to blacklist said wallet so related coins to it wouldn't or can't get sold (idk if they'd accept it or not though).

The only person who can probably help you ever really is the person who hacked your wallet themselves.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think that there are Dark secrets in every Successful Business on: March 20, 2023, 01:00:45 PM
I think that's a different kind of bet. It's not really something us people who gamble in casinos are doing exactly, those bets of theirs undergo a lot of thorough decision making and even if they are unsure of what the result would be, it isn't exactly a result that ONLY relies on luck, it relies on a lot of other factors together with said luck. You can never relate or use whatever techniques people use to form successful businesses in gambling, heck, I don't think gambling even enters the picture when thinking of building a business. That's a pretty narrow point and way of seeing things imo.

I also wouldn't really call it "dark", it's a secret yes, but I reckon some of them don't have that kind of darkness, at least in the early parts of their business career.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 20, 2023, 12:04:19 PM
Not really that strange if you consider it, I and my friends bet on a night trip to a graveyard near us, we (or others not in the game) set up some stuff early on and whoever got it first had to pass it to the person standing guard outside. We did it in the middle of the night and boy was it dark, bloody place did not have lamp posts (or even if they did, it wasn't exactly on then). We bet around $30 each, it was kind of like the stuff we were supposed to get meant how much we would get each, I got around $70 iirc since there were quite a few of us.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my lack of knowledge has blinded me so far on: March 19, 2023, 12:51:23 PM
I don't really think it's simply because of covid, I think anything that has relation to "gambling" would require KYC simply because it's a place people can go for money laundering activities, as well as the simple fact that gambling itself has laws regulating it (such as 18 years old and above), and to properly document it as such, they'd need legal documents that indicate how old a user is.

I think them asking for KYC only on big wins is a marketing strategy, I mean the idea of KYC is totally outside of the users mind during registration since they weren't asked, so they'll just proceed as usual but when winning big or withdrawing, they'd suddenly ask of that and at that point, some (if not most) users would probably have the mindset of "might as well do it since I'm already here", which would retain them as users of said casino. There's also considering the fact that KYC at registration simply damages the casinos capability to attract user base since they probably know themselves how people hate KYC.
1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why The Majority Of the Population Will Embrace CBDC's on: March 19, 2023, 03:04:42 AM
ofc they'll bloody embrace it, it's pretty much the replacement for fiat. I hardly doubt people who are less technologically knowledgeable would go out of their way to suddenly learn about the possible currencies they can use when the government has a replacement for the one they removed (or will remove). It wouldn't generally be different from what most people use right now afaik, just that it's digitalized and cash flow is much more easily observed/seen by the government (or the public if it was publicized)
