1341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 12, 2023, 03:09:41 AM
The problem is we keep increasing bet size to get more excitement, same level of excitement can't be equal on different bet sizes for many gamblers, we don't want to decrease bet size aka controlling bankroll since we play for fun. As it mentioned before, it is always best option to stop gambling when fun stops. I don't have gambling addiction problems so it is still my decision to keep depositing for getting more enjoyment, IMHO. Everyone has different limits and excitement levels.
I reckon that differs from the bankroll you initially have, plus the possible influence of maybe richer people and their positive results. I reckon it's also why gambling casinos have scoreboards so that people can induce other people to "believe" that more aggressive bets can result in more profits when in reality it's different from person to person. I myself have felt the thrill, but even then it's always adjusted to my level instead of adjusting to the level of others' bankroll.
1342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 11, 2023, 02:57:13 PM
I just wonder if there could be any more info about being addicted to trading. The article only gave out checking prices constantly, even in the middle of the night regardless of everything or anything. I mean I've been there, but I wouldn't have considered myself addicted to trading (and it was rather light, definitely didn't wake up just to check prices). Well, I definitely felt the stress of trading, I wasn't even aggressive heck I was actually scared of every drop to the point where I lose money instead of profiting.

And honestly, if you have the skills, I'd consider addiction to trading be well worth it at some point.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 11, 2023, 05:49:15 AM
Well, I don't think they have anything to lose if they gamble in their own casinos, so yea I think so. Ofc I don't think this applies to every owner, but I reckon most new owners would probably gamble a lot in their own casinos, but later on, would probably never touch it again, or maybe a bit but very rarely cause I think at that point, their assets would be pretty big already and they're either playing golf or doing some other type of hobby. As an owner of a casino business, I reckon they know themselves about the risk of touching it for a long time (especially in their case since they are the owner) so if I were them, I'd stay away after it has settled down.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is Gambling? ChatGPT Responses. on: February 11, 2023, 02:19:55 AM
I guess the answer to the 15-50 year old ones was generally the same, the 5-year-old one was the one that most differed from the rest (still the same for the most part, but dumbed down to the level where risks aren't portrayed as serious as the rest). Nothing new or unique, though I did consider adding gacha-type of games for the 5-year-old description initially, but not for the rest.

I do think that ChatGPT's response about what is gambling based on age doesn't really make sense. I mean, regardless of age, the answer will be general. Just look at how the response turned out, almost just identical to each other.
Well, that's how ChatGPT works, it's really generalized unless a specific data or point has it. It was an issue with stackoverflow at some point iirc, it presented seemingly correct answers due to the way the bot presented it, but was actually incorrect.
1345  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommendations for Good Esports Betting Sites? on: February 10, 2023, 04:18:32 PM
Stake and Sportsbet. That's the top two sportsbooks I always use, I've tried others but I've always stuck to these two for much longer. The only downside is, well, KYC as usual.

Also, other than what @LittleMouse sent, you can use this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319239.0 as a reference for the casinos you're going to visit. It has more info with regards to crypto used and some more additional info (such as if KYC is required). Gl to you OP!
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 10, 2023, 08:19:29 AM
1) Gambling related thoughts are always in your mind even when you are working on other activities
I'd actually argue with one, there are probably only some instances where a totally unrelated thought would come when you're working on something like the activity your doing is not really interesting, or a forced activity so to speak. I've had a few instances of my mind wandering about when doing some random stuff, but never when I'm working since it's my passion really. I also wouldn't think it's bad to think of gambling then, since it may just be the activity that you really enjoy. Nothing wrong about it imo. I'd only ever consider something wrong if you're mindlessly spending money on gambling, to the point that it's negatively affecting your financial needs.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 03:09:04 AM
I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.
That's just biased, isn't it? I myself am a sample of a gambler who has savings piled up which is already separate from what I invest and what I use to enjoy various hobbies, gambling included. I think a better description would be gambling addicts? Though I reckon you'd be able to guess the answer already from those two words itself, it's because of addiction, simple as that. It doesn't even matter if they have a family or not, the fact that they got addicted is already enough of an idea that they wouldn't bother with them, let alone save funds for their family.
1348  Economy / Gambling / Re: Own a profitable gambling site. Looking for investors on: February 10, 2023, 02:44:30 AM
The Marketplace would probably be the better place for you. Maybe in the services section of it? Hardly doubt a lot of people in this section actually want to be investors, they're more on the side of enjoying casinos instead (and would probably not risk investing (lending) money to a stranger on the internet)
1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does regulation affect the future of cryptocurrency? on: February 09, 2023, 12:28:54 PM
I don't really think we need any regulations, any sort of influence it can give is actually just it restricting the crypto scene in the first place. No investor would be scared (if there were any) of investing in crypto if the government didn't place sanctions on it in the first place. Ofc regulations do increase the confidence of regular people in using crypto, but it doesn't necessarily stop scams from happening, and scams are the ones that make people want to stay away from crypto in the first place.
1350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 08:36:10 AM
I think the best feature they can add is live chat support to assist them, I reckon a tutorial is naturally there so no need for that, but if there were any issues to crop up I reckon having live support could help the elderly in accessing casinos if they ever wanted to. Though I do think that any elderly visiting a casino would probably know what he's doing, I reckon no one would honestly just get lost and suddenly end up in one after all.

In your uncle's case, I think it'd be better to learn about crypto in general first then online casinos, online casinos work the same anyway, crypto or not, so knowing what crypto is and how to use it should be the priority.
1351  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 09, 2023, 05:40:15 AM
My friend's story sends me a signal: no matter how much I earn right now, try to keep my job and souce of income stable. I am also a family man and have responsibilities. Anything bad can also happen to me so I have to be prepared to the unforseen problems, although I am doing fine now. Make hay while the sun shines. If you have any advice for my friend, please let me know. Thank you.
I mean why would one even leave a stable source of income? I'd only ever leave one if I were to permanently retire or a better opportunity came to me. And in your friend's case, I'd honestly take those few low-paying jobs rather than stay jobless, after all, he doesn't exactly have the "time" to look for better ones since he has a family to support. Maybe even just take a lot of small part-times temporarily while looking for a big job, I reckon it would take a month or two to get accepted anyway (at least, from my experience).
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difficulties with creating an NFT project? on: February 08, 2023, 12:37:39 PM
My perspective is that currently NFT=Art Collections

I think there is an opportunity to move away from this association of NFT and Art to NFT=Any Asset.

This of course will requires changes to the current infrastructure.
I think some people actually think of NFT = Any Asset, and not just art. I reckon most catered NFTs were art because, well, it was by far the easiest to make since it didn't need anything at all in terms of usabilty, since, well, it's art (hence the creation of monkeys). Some pay-to-play games use the concept of NFT to give their users unique in-game assets that they can use to play after all. Well I guess the biggest idea for NFT being used in games is with the "metaverse" thing people wanted so they can trade any asset to whatever game connected to it, but without a proper infrastructure for it, I don't think it's going to ever work (nor do I think the gaming industry ever needs to adopt it really).
1353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any thoughts about NFT? on: February 08, 2023, 12:28:41 PM
Hey, I dunno anything about it, earlier I've holded some tokens and received satoshi for holding. For example it was GMT project, now they released NFT Greedy Machines, could you share your thoughts about it?
Information looks kinda good, you can receive satoshi just for holding, or you can play NFT game and receive more

Is somebody holding it?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5436956
Here. It's also about Greedy machines so saves you the trouble of what people think about it since I reckon generally most would have the same opinion about it. For anyone else curious about what the NFT is about, iirc it was about cloud mining via NFT, nothing game-changing or big imo.
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 05:35:38 AM
I believe it was only once or twice, back when I started out (which was in highschool). As a kid back then I was into gambling due to the influence of my friends, nothing big, I only played with my friends anw but with money involved but I did realize back then it may lead to something worse if I kept on going on. My girlfriend then also pushed me to stop since she didn't really like me gambling with money, so I stopped that is until at least my 2nd/3rd year of college. Slowly got back to it and here we are now, still gambling but in a balanced way (imo anyway).
1355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: misconceptions have always been and will always be on: February 07, 2023, 12:29:56 PM
what about people that create and run scam projects? Are they deserved to be called developers?  I don't think so.
They develop scams so technically they are. Kidding aside, it is indeed really easy to create a scam token, as well as market it to people using social media influencers that are dumb enough to market it for some reason. If you guys want some examples, go watch some of Coffeezilla's videos about crypto scams and the like, great watch and break down the projects and why they're a scam basically.

Tbf though, some real developers out there can still scam the hell out of you, so whether they are a dev with experience or not, if the project stands to be good then I reckon all is fine. Their creativity stands to negate their inexperience anw.
1356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 07, 2023, 08:17:42 AM
We hear it all the time in the news and even here on this forum - Scary price drop speculations based completely on fake/exaggerated news or on something without any kind of substance.
Hmm, I can't really say, I'm more on the side of it being unethical but we all know trading is a competitive market, a zero-sum game. Spreading FUD is one way for other traders to get a one-up from other investors, newbies or not, and profit off of it, so it's actually just one (but probably many) of methods available. Not to mention in the first place, FUD can easily be corrected if research is done properly (though if it wasn't FUD, they may lose out depending on how long they figure out whether it really is FUD or not).
1357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tip and Tricks about when to buy or when to sell? on: February 07, 2023, 05:21:49 AM
Buy low sell high. That's the basics of trading. You don't need to push yourself to sell at the highest price or buy at the lowest price possible, that's just too risky so if you think that the profit gain you have is at a comfortable range, then sell. If you think that the price wouldn't bottom out anymore (or even if it did, you wouldn't lose out much), then buy. There are a bunch of methods you can use to see if the market is approaching sell/buy range, but ultimately it still depends on you whether you should.

Just don't buy on greens, and sell on reds as much as possible.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US casinos set new record of revenue on 2022 on: February 06, 2023, 12:35:26 PM
Gambling is getting more popular, just at the US casinos produced almost 55 billion dollars in revenue during 2022, an amount which surpassed the previous record that was established last year, and since any trend going on the US is most likely taking place all over the world it seems safe to assume the same is happening at many other countries.

Have you noticed this as well where you live? Are cryptocurrency casinos experimenting the same kind of boom as fiat casinos?
I think it's safe to say with crypto having/experiencing the same thing but with a lesser amount of audience I reckon since it's being limited by it's medium (crypto), but in general, it should be the same imo. Heck, it may have even offset some of its limits by most (if not all) crypto casinos being online, which is easily accessible by a lot of users. Crypto isn't as hard to get into as well compared to the past so really, the limit I said earlier could be called non-existent at this point (or in the near future).

I guess the promotions that casinos has had in the past year of being free (mostly) from the lockdown proved to be rather effective, and people are being more lax with how they spend money (regardless of the current economic situation I guess).
1359  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think will happen if... on: February 06, 2023, 06:24:28 AM
It'd drop ofc. We can't exactly remove the influence that the institutional investors have in the current market, if they pulled out, there'd naturally be a reaction to the market, a negative one to be exact. But it should naturally die down since the market would naturally adjust itself to balance the demand/supply in the long run. Bitcoin surging still remains in question then, I still think it'd do, but it'd probably be slower in consideration of institutional investors not entering the market anymore (which is impossible I think, but just for the sake of OP's scenario ig).
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interesting Facts About Online Casinos on: February 06, 2023, 02:34:58 AM
FACT 6: 90% of slots players opt for online casino gaming than at land-based casinos
Only 10% of punters choose to play slots at a land based casino while 90% of the players choose online casinos. This means that it is more interesting to play games online.
I honestly think any normal slot-only player would choose to play on online casinos than brick-and-mortar. Ofc this doesn't include say incidental visits or if they plan to play other games, but in general if you were only planning to play slots, why bother going to a casino? Though that only applies to recent times I reckon, with the boom of online casinos compared to the past. I reckon most casino visitors play table games like Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, etc. anw.

Seriously, a direct tip? How's the payment or transfer happened?
Wouldn't the casinos set that up themselves? Wouldn't put it past me that they made their dealers create a casino account and any tips are just automatically transferred there so that they can entice their dealers to gamble it back to them lmao. Never really seen it though.
