2161  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The role of Bitcoin in an unemployment prone society. on: March 01, 2022, 09:51:29 AM
Bitcoin doesn't really have a role here though since it is just a currency. For example if there is no job for a university graduate then with or without bitcoin the job still doesn't exist. Doing other jobs and making money is a different story though. Bitcoin can make it easier for people to do such jobs usually online (eg. freelance programmer) and get paid. But that still doesn't solve the issue that the job they went to university for doesn't exist.
Yes that's the thing i also feel but for people it is tool to solve the world problems like unemployment and some aslo claims it can bring up the world peace? You can improve your lifestyle with it as it is financial tool that can provide some privileges related to ownership of funds like some unique advantage is at this time the banks of Russia and Ukraine are at freezing the accounts and people don't have access to their funds also but at this point btc is helpful. So there are monetary benefits associated with it.

But if we say by adopting btc the global crime rates and other problems could be solved then it's not the case as it is not creating jobs or lending out some. But if you want to take it in that perspective then there are some like learn some bitcoin basics and start writing some blogs about it or educate others about it.Do some online stuff to earn it or start investing for long term. You see there are things that are helpful but not on major scale. It is fiat alternative so we can't brag about it on all problems.

Oh right, I remember - I heard about that! When you have 1337 activity, the software spells it out as 'leet', right? Cheesy That's cool, looking forward to seeing it in person myself. But it will take a while.
No it's not related to activity but when you have 1337 posts on the forum then it shows leet which is Easter egg translated to leet and when you post one more then it becomes normal to 1338.This is SMF a forum software set as this.

You can read it about here in detail

So you can say that you are not too away from getting it on your profile just few more months and congratulations on growing fast on the forum  Wink

Yeah i see this time there are less entries and still there are few winning members from previous contests like @Maus0728 and others top winners who still have not submitted their artworks.
I don't know man!

There is a fuckton of academic workload pouring in to my schedule, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to submit an artwork before the deadline! But, sure, I'm in the process of finishing my entry, perhaps tomorrow morning or right before the thread gets locked. I just hope that I can finish it right on time while maintaining the quality.

Goodluck to all other participants! And yeah! school sucks! -_-
Yeah i know how hard it's to manage all the works simultaneously and this is why i am also not able to prepare the art for competition as you know stuck in some personal works. But it's good that you have managed your time being a student for competition and surely you could submit it before the time ends and have the chance of winning. So best wishes to you and all others.

hence any other casino launching similar NFTs will have to work hard on creating a buzz first, and convince user’s about it’s utility otherwise user’s won’t invest their money in it.
The whole thing stands or falls, in my opinion, on what the other casinos do towards utility of their NFTs. Do the NFTs give a concrete advantage over "pure HODL"? If so, then they will sell as well. If not, it's going to be difficult either way, especially now that the hype towards NFTs seems to be greatly diminishing.
Actually you are missing the part of diminishing NFT's which is the case with those who were over hyped and have nothing to offer to the holders and now they are selling it off at whatever prices they can and flipping them is no more profitable and holding them is useless. The market dilution has come where only projects that serve the benefits and utility will survive in long run.But still there are many useless projects getting sold don't know how people are ready to pay for them.
2165  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin next steps and where it may fail spectacularly on: February 27, 2022, 10:25:09 AM

I have watched videos and see how Ukrainians are reacting to what Putin has done. Ukraine do not allow male adults under 60 years to leave the country, many Ukraine citizens are volunteering and ready to join Ukrainian military force, the process to join made easier.
The Ukrainian soldiers are fighting hard for the country try to defend their position and don't allow the Russian military to enter the Kyiv and protect it's citizen.Have seen many distrupting videos of attacks and many losing their lives in this ego war against the Ukraine. The soldiers are giving their best for the country like this one is true act of bravery and will be remembered for long time :

Quote
A Ukrainian soldier blew up a bridge that connects Russia-occupied Crimea to mainland Ukraine in order to stop Russian tanks from advancing. In the process, he sacrificed his own life.

The president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also supporting the country and not ready to leave the capital and have said he and his family is the first Target of Russia but he will still fight till his last breath and have clearly gave permission to ordinary citizens to pick up the weapons and volunteer for the war to protect the country.

What surprised me most about this is that Ukraine government are now accepting bitcoin, ethereum and tether donations, millions of dollars has been deposited into the crypto addresses control by the Ukrainian government.
They are getting huge support from the people and crypto community that they have gathered around $4.4 million in their wallets and have urged people also to give btc and eth support to them as to fund the war and soldiers.

The Ukrainian government is regularly getting support in btc and other cryptos and they have already been donated around $4 Million from people

The world is with them and hope global peace prevails and bitcoiners are showing support to them.

France declaring to be sending military weapon to Ukraine, Germany today stood up too on removing Russia from Swift and also decleared sending weapon to Ukraine, Germany and Netherlands has decleared sending weapon to Ukraine, France also said she will send more. 25 NATO countries will send weapon (I may not get everything right, but what I have been following).
Poland has already been sending the ammunition and food packages to Ukraine through different modes but have said they will deliver it to the borders and will not directly indulge in war with them or in military operations.

Czech Republic has promised to deliver 30000 pistols and around 7-8k revolvers to them and other facilities.

Netherlands to supply 200 stinger missiles to Ukraine along with other 25 nations including US, France and Germany who are providing weapons and military support to Ukraine.

Global assistance to Ukraine

With the help of NATO and other helpings from outside Ukraine, I do not think Ukrainians will decide to accept that they have been defeated. Just my take. We wish the war to end soon, but I do not think Putin will let that happen anytime soon.
There are far more financial as well social consequences which Russia will also had to bear in the long run even if he intends to take this war long as Ukraine is not getting defeated easily.

The longer it is taking Russia to win, the harder it will become for Russia, sanctioning may not work fast, but it may dawn on Russia over long time period. Although, China said to open trade for Russia.
China always has cheap tactics and thinking to follow it's path over to Taiwan and thinking lending support to Russia will make it's position more stronger on world level but will aslo end up in same direction.

The month is going to end soon and so is the competition and i wanted to take part also but due to some personal reasons not getting time to devote it to make some art so feeling sad about it but happy to see some entries as well.Wish best of luck to all the contestants and waiting for more members to join this art contest.
The deadline is tomorrow but I think there will be an extension (just like the previous art contest) for users who also want to take part but running out of time, so you still have a chance. Anyway im looking forward for the entries of the artists here especially the artwork of those who often win. Goodluck to everyone.
Yeah i see this time there are less entries and still there are few winning members from previous contests like @Maus0728 and others top winners who still have not submitted their artworks. The date maybe extended by 1-2 days but speaking of myself then this time it won't be possible so next time.Still some reserved spaces are there so will see the artworks of members.

As i have said previously also there is great chance for gamblers of Rollbit to win some major NFT's like #BAYC and #Cryptopunks for just fraction of bets and if you are lucky enough to win you could own that particular NFT worth millions at this time if you know about them.

So try your luck over lootboxes : https://rollbit.com/nft/lootboxes/play

Maybe you have that lucky win from this as one have already claimed #BAYC NFT from it with small bet of $38 shared by me above so give it a shot.
2168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips on how to make 'genuine' posts on: February 27, 2022, 09:15:50 AM
Users can make genuine posts without following forum etiquette, e.g formatting, and quoting properly. These sort of things aren't a requirement for newbies, it's always nice to have obviously, but it most certainly isn't something that everyone is going to be familiar with at first. I'd say the very definition of genuine posts is that your posting solely because your interested in the discussion, and not motivated by anything other than that.

Any other recommendations beyond that, probably aren't needed. I don't expect newbies to have the same etiquette as a user who has been using the forum for years. I do expect them to know the majority of the rules, and follow them to the best of their ability, but etiquette is something you develop over time, and isn't  necessarily a prerequisite to posting.
Right we can't expect post perfection from a member who has recently joined the forum and is totally unaware about the proper representation of the post like how to use quotes, embed images and url and highlight the text so it must be avoided. The main thing on focus should be the contribution or efforts they are trying to put in their post which should be useful and genuine not like creating threads how to to gain merits and earn over the forum.

I have seen some users without proper etiquette of posting sharing something useful and still getting merits for it because what's more important information or representation? Slowly they have to or say will learn all the things and we can accept post quality improvement from them.Newbies should indulge themselves in discussion and can also ask questions if they have any doubt over any topic or if they wish can explore the threads and enhance their knowledge with it to contribute later on.

Funnily enough, if a certain user plans to genuinely make a non-spammy topic/reply, then he/she wouldn't even need tips and guidance in the first place. As long as the post is understandable and detailed enough, it's pretty much almost all that matters.
Yeah sometimes I have seen members creating long threads but nothing useful is shared with others and then only few members give right suggestions while all other just spam the threads. But on other side the post by every member should be upto point and have the information that is relevant and needed nothing else and that's quality post for them as well as others.

Newbies are different. It's nice to see a newbie who has a sincere conversation, asks questions, and doesn't try to pass himself off as someone he isn't.
All sorts of instructions from newbies are always suspicious, although we are well aware that people can come to the forum with knowledge. But many will agree with me, a beginner who strives not for knowledge, but rank and earnings can be seen from afar.
We have seen lot of merit hunting, self congratulatory and how to rank up threads in B&H board only from newbies and it is clear that most of their intentions is to see this forum as way of earning not educating them on bitcoin and crypto market. The thing is those who adapt themselves to exchange of knowledge and grow up on forum by participating in effective and healthy discussion it can be seen from their post while other still stick to the same lines. The best is to contribute and secondary goals can be achieved later on with it.

That's how smart investors do since imagine if the hype subside with NFT and you will be left out holding some expensinve piece then provably you will end up nothing if you decide not to sell it early. And in my own opinion NFT is only good to hold for 1 or maybe 2 weeks since for this we can see the price pump and we can flip up on another NFT again.
I would say flipping NFT's is good until you are making profits but you can't say for how long this will go on and team announcement could affect the floor so for me something valuable is if it has some purpose to serve which will derive it's value which is why i prefer utility over profits as want to engage myself with that part.So the project that provides a base and utility will grow in future while all other are going to be zero.
2171  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: February 26, 2022, 09:19:35 AM
exactly, I agree that an artists is not their art...
on the other hand, I also believe a better person will create better art in most of situations, but this is a point for a different topic.

Are roobet art contests still happening or they stopped with these?
Currently the art contest wasn't live at the moment, generally we may see them only at the festival season like new year but why we need to discuss about the winners reputation? If there is no such rules that negative tagged account can't participate in the art contest then they can't able to win or else there is no problem at all.

YES, A ROOBET Art Contest with the theme " Winter & Valentine's Day" is still running until February 28th. Negatively tagged accounts, whether participant or non-participant, are meaningless. Despite such a rule, anyone can create a new account and participate on it. Thus, A negative tagged account is fine with me.

Roobet.com | Art Contest "Winter & Valentine's Day" | $4950 up for grabs! Ends Feb 28.

Did see that contest and actually forgot this is valentine's month, am I getting old. Sad

Yeah, we shouldn't see the reputation for the contest winner when they can bypass it hy simply create a new account and post their art in the thread.
The month is going to end soon and so is the competition and i wanted to take part also but due to some personal reasons not getting time to devote it to make some art so feeling sad about it but happy to see some entries as well.Wish best of luck to all the contestants and waiting for more members to join this art contest.
2172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux Vs windows OS security on: February 26, 2022, 09:04:38 AM
Basically saying the core responsibility of security is of the owner of the device keeping aside the fact that which operating system you are using whether it's windows, Linux or any other.Suppose you install a malicious software or click on the link that was injected with the virus then the system can't protect you in that case.

But definitely yes if we make comparisons then Linux is best security vise from windows and have much secured network than windows. But the problem is how many of us are using it? The members above explained to you that windows is more popular which is why it becomes soft target for the hackers as you could easily find a victim from thousand of people rather than trying from ten people. Here is chart that explains that majority share is dominated by Microsoft windows :

This share is slowly being reducing as more people are shifting towards Linux but according to reports the majority of hacks are windows related like Trojans, password hacks, mining related and others.

See this :

Quote
Malware is everywhere, but computers that run Windows—the world's most popular operating system—are especially prone to attacks. According to AV Test's 2019/2020 Security Report, 114 million new pieces of malicious programs were developed in 2019, and 78.64 percent of all attacks were distributed on Windows systems.

Those numbers are expected to rise in 2020, with 160 million new programs by the end of the year. One reason for this increase is the COVID-19 pandemic; many hackers are taking advantage of the uncertainty to spread malware and increase phishing attacks. As a result, the percentage of malware targeting Windows computers has risen to 83.45 percent in the first quarter of 2020.

Source : Windows contributes 70-80% of hacks

So this is why if we see from security perspective then Linux OS is best and there are other advantages also like open source and you can made customisation to it according to your preference if you have technical knowledge about it.
2173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: February 25, 2022, 12:04:24 PM
What type of assessment indicators you are referring to? There are some things which we can look out ourselves to judge from our instict that whether the project will be surviving or not in the long run. There are so many projects at this time in the NFT space like coins but you need to decide which is better one.

I can boldly tell you that instinct fails sometimes, and you know what? It's not because you don't you didn't properly analyze, it's maybe due to some factors that you can't control.
You see the good side of holding Rollbots NFTs, you will be benefiting from the Rollbit platform, unlike other NFT projects that will promise you reality on paper and will die on the roadmap shilling and disturbing the twitter community with their tokens.

Rollbots are cool. It will be nice if they attach some more benefits to increase the taste of investors?

Are bots actually allowed on these types of sites? the last thing you want is to get into trouble using bots. I've read something about bots/.scripts before, but some sites act against this with all the consequences that entails, possibly resulting in account closure. I hope that's not the case here. With a bot you still don't have 100% certainty, whichever strategy you use.
Recently bot attacks have increased and now NFT minting projects don't allow these things and have built proper framework to avoid them because sometimes people setup bots to mint more NFT within time and others don't get a fair chance against it and other hacks so this is not allowed these days and fair minting is advisable.
2174  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Slots 🆚 Live Casino tournament 🏆 150 mBTC prize pool on: February 25, 2022, 11:48:11 AM
Well we all have our bad days and our bad streaks in the game, two weeks ago I was also playing Roulette and Poker, I like Poker much more And I had a considerable loss, but do not be disappointed because this is part of the game, just as we win and have fun playing we must also accept defeats so that we can learn much more, that is why I am always very attentive to the articles that Karl publishes, which has sometimes helped me a lot because his information gives feedback and this makes you continue to grow more every day and feel more professional playing.
I understand that part of the game we have to accept victory and defeat but I have since become a gambler but not an addict I know very well what to do in the game we enter in having fun so as not to become emotional later if there is disappointment it is natural because for I don't think it's a regret but a challenge for the future.
Indeed, sometimes I always correct Karl's published articles and then I look for the right conclusion for me, so I know what to do.
Right disappointment is unavoidable in any loss but the thing is controlling ourselves from getting too emotional and start aggressive betting which could get us beyond our limits of wagering and then addicted towards it which is far more worse. So the entertainment and fun is good way to see gambling and take profit as incentives so best part is not giving up too early and play in limits.
2175  Other / Meta / Re: Fluent with multiple languages, can i join multiple local boards? on: February 25, 2022, 11:32:42 AM
To me it is better to concentrate on a particular local board where one belongs because it is like a home here in the forum which we represent and discuss matters concerning cryptocurrency in an easy way,  going from one local board to the other does not make sense to me, it is like showing of his/her multilingual talent.
We all are not same like some wants to restricts themselves to certain area while there are others who want to explore more boards on forum and want to participate in their conversations also.So suppose you are expert in three to four languages then you can surely have a word with them as we are not discussing any personal issues here but general crypto related so if we look at a broader perspective then we all are one community under bitcointalk forum and can engage ourselves in any healthy discussion according to me.

Going outside doesn't mean we are leaving our home permanently so this goes same with writing up on different boards on forum and if he wish to do so then it's good.
2176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Personal seed phrase on: February 25, 2022, 11:14:41 AM
I would rather say to go the way as it is intended to be which is get the randomly generated seed phrases from the wallet and keep it secured on offline storage with three to four backups which is more easy to do so and safe. You need to first have all the combinations for seed phrases and difficult part is to make it in a combination which you can remember and is not easy to break. The human mind is prone to errors and beleive me there is no scope of error in this work as you could loose funds easily.

The problem isn't only the memorizing step, the biggest problem is not forgetting it after some time passed. Even if you create a poem like what @Lucius skillfully did, you have to recite it everyday if you don't want to forget the details otherwise in a couple of years you'll start doubting the details and a couple of words missing could easily make it impossible to recover the funds.
If you mix up some words in future and it has pointed out that some other words are also used as mnemonic phrase which is more confusing so it must be avoided at any cost.A little error could cause big deficiency so we need to be safe in this matter.

Does the rollbots only available in the rollbits website or we can buy it somewhere else?
You can buy the Rollbots just like virtually any other NFT on Opensea, here is the link to it:

https://opensea.io/collection/rollbots

Of course you have to decide for yourself if the prices are justified, but I personally don't think that they are cheap - although I also like the graphics very well

Thank you I thought they are only available in website, I'm not familiar with NFT markets the floor price is around 0.8 ETH right? but we can get Rollbots for much lower price in presale? I see few days back that they are having a presale on the discord for rollbots.
There is now V2 launch ahead for next rollbot series and you can participate in pre-sale round for it but what will be the price for that it's not out yet but the previous one was around $500 and public sale at $1000 so this time maybe it will rise so wait for official announcement from the team till then.
2178  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: February 24, 2022, 11:34:13 AM
It is not the jpg that makes it worth that much, it is the tech behind it that makes it worth that much. I mean there is nothing that we should be really claiming that we know in the NFT world because some things just happen without any reason at all and makes everyone shocked. I consider them like that banana taped to the wall that the guy ate which was worth 150k.

We all know that it was not really "art", it was banana taped to the wall, and even the owner said that banana could be changed it was the "idea" that was the art and not THAT banana that makes it art. Do you really believe that a banana taped to wall worths a ton of money? We all know it shouldn't however it became viral and probably worths even more right now, art is a bit weird like that.

that!

people should remember that value is different than price and some of these high prices of NFTs are already justifiable just for the fact that there's people willing to pay for it, so, they value it

people don't always buy on reason, sometimes the buy on emotion too

worth remembering that the image it's just a tiny part of the NFT, what is on the surface, there are many other details on the next layers like inside the contract, properties, etc..
Yeah that's our personal opinion how we rate art and this is nothing and have seen people paying huge amounts for some paint colour only on big frame and similar artworks but they find it worth paying so it's their choice only but for me there should be something worth noticing in art and it must have something to pay for.
2179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I was wondering will 21,000 million satisfy? on: February 24, 2022, 11:25:20 AM
will 21,000 million bitcoin be enough for the masses
See when btc was built by Satoshi the thing in his mind was to provide an decentralised alternative to current central monetary system solving the issue of double spending of coins not to fullfill everyone's need on the planet. The population of the earth is in billions and there are much more fiat in circulation but still everyone have the enough proportion for it? So this thing cannot be resolved and limited supply is what makes it deflationary currency.

What if miners decides to increases the bitcoin number is it really possible?
A single miner or group of miners can't make any changes to bitcoin and the whole community needs to agree upon the decision to make any changes in the code.Or in other words if 51% of the miners agree to change the open source code on github then it's possible but still they won't do this thing.

if they split what will happen to the two bitcoin values
The Bitcoin had already witness some hard forks in the past and thing is what the outcome is not really bitcoin anymore and just another fake copy of it like the people Roger Ver have tried to do so in the past with BSV but there's only remain one and one bitcoin all the time.

Speaking of miners then there are enough incentives for them at this time also with rewards decreasing with half at each having. At this time it's 6.25BTC for finding the next block or say solving the puzzle with ASIC machines at this time. But still holding these coins will benefit them.In future the transaction fees is the reward and more transactions will prevail and more rewards which means network will be secured by them.

The difficulty is adjusted every 2106 blocks or two weeks depending on the time it takes to find the previous blocks so you see miners always have profit in the things.

When to BTD at this point….

Recovery could happen fast, but have we seen the bottom-ish prices or not ….

The dip supported by another dip maybe incoming and we should be ready for that.

The two way preparation needs to be done one is be ready with some extra fiat to invest in Bitcoin at some discounts again and second don't panic sell off in these situations and hold for long term.

Hope everything goes normal soon  Wink
