2181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 04, 2014, 05:45:58 AM
I just bought a NEM stake last night, hope this goes well!
Currently dropped from 100k nxt to 15k nxt, you will see 15k nxt to 3k nxt.

Are you saying i will be able to get one for 3K of NXT?

I just got 1 NEM stake on the asset exchange for around 15K of NXT.

Was this a good price, or will they drop further?
I was advised to wait 4 days before buying or make a bid around 15K, which i did.

I think its going to take off when it launches, pretty exciting, of course im still more invested in NXT.

Nobody can tell you if the price will go up or down. But I can tell you that I bought a couple of stakes between 15k and 22k. So I think it is a very good price.
At the latest when the alpha comes out, you canīt get this prices anymore.

Yes ive been told this too.
When does Alpha launch?
I was reading somewhere that its August.

No August the Beta is planned.
The alpha hopefully this month.

WOW, thats awesome!
Im glad im in on this now!
Ive missed out on so many opportunities with cryptos, I am a firm believer in NXT, but i also believe in diversity.
NXT and NEM will both help each other out for the better im sure.

One question, how do we exchange our NEM stake for our NEM once it launches?

I thought it would be interesting to discuss which anonymous feature would be the best to implement into silkcoin, there are a few options:

Cryptonote
https://cryptonote.org/
whitepaper: https://cryptonote.org/whitepaper.pdf
summary: https://cryptonote.org/inside.php

Personal feelings:
-Only drawback is the extra bloat on the blockchain but i am not 100% sure about this, I am just judging from bytecoin.

Darksend
https://www.darkcoin.io/
whitepaper: http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdf
Summary: Mix of conjoin and stealth addresses built into the decentralized network

personal feelings:
-Good but slows down transaction times and not 100% anonymous because it just aims to mix coins. But it may be enough for anonymity.
-This could be the easiest and quickest way to add anonymity into silkcoin

Zerocash
http://zerocash-project.org/
whitepaper: http://zerocash-project.org/media/pdf/zerocash-extended-20140518.pdf
Summary: http://zerocash-project.org/how_zerocash_works

personal feelings:
-This is the most anonymous method, people argue that the masterkey problem is a major concern but you can use multi-sig to make sure no one person is in charge of destroying the key.
-It is also bleeding edge mathamatics and has not been implemented in any coins yet but it could be a good thing for silkcoin. They could be one of the first to be using the zerocash technology.

I would go with zerocash, and i think we should embrace it along with other coins, im not sure if blackcoin will be using zerocash or not, but I think its the only option unless we develop another technology from the ground up.

Darksend has not even been proven to work reliably yet (they have had forking issues), Cryptonote is excellent, but we would have to create a brand new blockchain, and that is not just an option.

Zerocash is soon to be launched for bitcoin, and i expect other currencies very soon.

Oh that rules out cryptonote. Out of the 2 zerocash gets my vote aswell.

I'm pretty sure that zerocash will released on its own altcoin from what i have read. (zerocash is the new project, zerocoin is the previous project meant to be built on bitcoin)

Ive just been reading on the Silkcoin website and they are 70% complete on implementing zerocash, so thats great news!

2189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Silkcoin surpass Blackcoin? on: June 03, 2014, 01:30:53 AM

the most basic and important one - wallet.
This may be just me, but I'm not that much impressed.

A new version of the SilkCoin wallet has been released, with improved market data, and the addition of an orderbook. Trading will be available in a future update as well. There’s also a social tab, with a built-in IRC client. (http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/2014/5/22/silkcoin-wallet-update-marketing-push-coming-bittorrent-integration-planned)

Is that missing anything significant? Those are nice-to-haves, not must-haves that other alts will have to rush to emulate. (And if they are so great, why would it be hard to do so?)

As far as the transaction anonymity features go, the SilkCoin team will keep a close eye on future developments in other coins, and integrate the best fit option into SC. (same link)

I think this is smart, and basically just tracking a bit behind Blackcoin's own announced intention of adding anonymity. There are a couple approaches out there being pioneered by Dark, Monero and X11 among others. I suspect more than one method may be "good enough" so in the long run we may see a couple methods used for anonymity by the alts. (All serious altcoins will be doing anonymity, I'm convinced, one way or another.)

Yes i agree i think most altcoins will do so and if Zerocoin gets adopted on bitcoin, well that puts an end to the need of darkcoin.

Im having alot of trouble with this wallet when it comes to sending funds, its doing nothing!
The send button gets greyed out and nothing happens to indicate that the payment was made.

Whats going on?

#27....

Look at the depth chart at poloniex....

don't miss the take-off guys..... rocket is fueling Grin Grin

This is very exciting, but i expect it to drop when the next POW stage comes in, i wish i sold mine when it was over 2c because i could have reinvested back into silk again!
2192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 02, 2014, 10:23:44 PM
When does NEM launch?
I have about 25K of NXt, and a 1 million stake in NEM is around 19-20K of NXT.
Is it likely to get up to 1 cent per NEM any time soon?
2193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 02, 2014, 09:56:08 PM
So when does NEM launch?
2194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blackcoin on its way back to $1? on: June 02, 2014, 04:29:26 AM
Its been rising steadily over the last week.

I think it would be priced more then 20$ soon

really?
It will be interesting to see how it gets adopted, it does seem one of the better coins around.
They have agressive marketing and if they do well with the anonymous features i think its safe to say that darkcoin will be a thing of the past.
2195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: June 01, 2014, 11:01:50 PM
These are my pick:
NXT
Blackcoin
Megacoin
NEM?
Silkcoin
Sharecoin

2197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will Blackcoin go? on: June 01, 2014, 10:47:27 AM
If you compare BC charts with the initial NXT ones, the seems really similar.
In my opinion it will slowly but steadly lower its value for a while, then it will rise.

yes good point
2198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blackcoin on its way back to $1? on: June 01, 2014, 10:40:56 AM
Will its market cap reach that of litecoin?

I think its a far better coin than litecoin, but in the long run i think i want to hold onto NXT, if i get a good return from BC and a few others, i will put some of it into NXT
2199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How high will Blackcoin go? on: June 01, 2014, 06:30:59 AM
Blackcoin is on the rise, will it beat litecoins marketcap?
2200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blackcoin on its way back to $1? on: June 01, 2014, 01:31:51 AM
im just killing myself that i traded all my BC (4700) for DRK last week, as it appeared to have stalled, and then DRK dropped down to $6 and i was worried that it was going to drop further so i exchanged them all, i want to get some reasonable stake in BC, so hope its not too late.

Wish i never wasted my time with DRK.
