Many would say it already has with everything it has achieved so far I agree. Once it gains enough attention and BTC settles down, i think we will see things gain alot of traction, and fast. |

Its not all about the price!
Its trolls that go on and on about the price that really annoy me!
What about the price of NXT, Blackcoin, monero, etc, alot of them are currently down!
Besides, people are holding onto their stash, no one wants to sell.
Low price is good for those that want to get in early!
Sick of all the speculators that want to make a quick buck overnight, if thats for you, go buy a lottery ticket. No such thing as get rich quick except for a small minority.
I agree, I don't pretend to understand why certain coins experience success. Nxt is a good example. They have continued to release new features and have a rock solid Blockchain, but the price has been suppressed. I just think people don't have the stomach for multiple crypto projects other than Bitcoin. I consider the current Alt marketcaps and prices as normal, whereas two years ago they were highly inflated with speculation. Unfortunately people think those prices will one day return, when in reality they will never return and the Alt market will continue to be saturated with new projects as Bitcoin will inches higher and higher. I think things will settle down eventually. It seems to be one big popularity contest at present. Look how successful Doge is. Will LTC die? IDK, i think its crap, and little interest to me. But hey, speculators watch the charts and invest in it. NXT is one of the best platforms out there. It should be well up in the top 5, but everyone looks to BTC and LTC. Both are dinosaurs and I would love to see how they can operate in the long term with mass adoption. Marketing is probably key, but that can cost money. And the the whole community has this responsibility to help in whatever way they can - dont leave it up to a handful of devs and complain that nothing is being done. NEM belongs to you, as much as anyone else. This doesnt apply to just NEM, but anything that wants to take on BTC seriously. We need to target newbies who dont really know much about bitcoin. Anyway, i hope the majority of shitcoins die soon, we dont need them. CMC could do with a major cleanup too. That would help somewhat. |

(means eth, nxt, ETC !? is better than NEM? Thatīs nonsense, because i ask myself why eth, nxt and etc are better than nem? Especially in this stage of development). yes. he tries to tell us that we need to attach blockchain nem to blockchain btc. but we have much more the best blockchain than at btc therefore i wouldn't begin to attach on a place of devs blockchain nem to blockchain btc even if it is possible. i think that it's possible, but we it don't need to pull on ourselves a network which in future will die and us for itself will pull in a grave. I'm not telling NEM to do anything, you can critique my posts all you want as a distraction from reality. I'm making reference to short term price/value over alternative crypto's (as a business would do in the current crypto landscape) and long term viability as it relates to relationship with Bitcoin. I'm just stating my opinion and what many probably feel in their gut. If you didn't own NEM, you wouldn't say it was destined for success. I wish the team all the success, but I can see the writing on the wall. I think NEM is making good progress! Dont know what it is with the trolls! LOL. Both the price and volume have been miserable. The project was launched like 2 years ago. Plus vast majority of coins are still in control by developers or reserved as future funds I fully expect prices will drop below 10 sat in 2016 as more coins are released Its not all about the price! Hey guys the only computer I have access to now and likely in the foreseeable future will be a mac. Sorry to bring this up a couple diff times but I have my wallet.dat on a USB. Will there be a Mac wallet before the swap period is over so I am able to convert my silk to the new silk? If not are there any recommendations? Thought I'd have access to a PC but I will not. Thank you!
Best thing to do will be to install a virtual machine on the Mac to run Ubuntu 14.04 and then build and run a Silkcoin wallet on Linux within the virtual machine. The consolation however is that there will be Mac wallets for the new Silk. Nice. Would anyone mind writing a little how to on this? I know SlievensDRKSLK is super busy. Not the most tech savy out there. Thanks! Download virtualbox and install windows on it. Then its just a matter of instaling the silk client on there. |

There's no gaming of the distribution. We have one of the best if not the best distribution of any project, so I am not sure what the comment refers to.
I dont understand either! There are hundreds of stakeholders listed as shown on the block explorer earlier, most of them only holding one stake each. |

Camel is way better and closer to the silk path The Phoenix idea is cool but this Camel arose so many times that beats the Phoenix Also what attracted me from the beginning to Silkcoin was the graphic design of the wallet that looked different than all other wallets If that look is interfering with the functionality then by all means change it, but if it's not then you know the old saying: If it works don't fix it and focus on other issues This is the only wallet that I don't minimize from the desktop since everybody ask me "what's that?!?" It doesn't work and I am fixing it. In my opinion the Camel looks crap and cheap. Non professional. I have always thought that. It will be reworked and used as the logo for The Silkcoin Network. Also the old Silkcoin wallet is overloaded with crap. Weaver will house all the needed features, not the wallets. (Sorry for my short, abrupt answers, just woke) It would be good to retain the animated camel in some shape on the wallet also, as that was unique to silkcoin. |

Price is a reflection of adoption and faith. I'm sure there are plenty of coins technically better than BTC. That counts for nothing if people aren't interested in it. They're also motivated to work on improving the coins they are invested in. This doesn't take into account the significant price manipulation that goes on in crypto, primarily through the main BTC bagholders pumping and dumping alts. Otherwise, yes, i'd agree. Over the years i've seen many a shitcoin go from zero to huge volumes and price increases with no warning or news to have triggered it. It's simply a price pump and it's a common occurence. There simply is no other explanation for it other than this, as the crypto markets are far too small to be representative of large numbers of investors. What we're dealing with is a select few big BTC holders throwing their coinage around in an attempt to siphon more wealth. When this game of musical chairs stops, you best be sure you've got a seat (FIAT/BTC) as this, sadly, is the state of the alt/crypto market today. Ironically it's this price volatility that also damages crypto from REAL investors outside the crypto bubble that could actually provide some stability. I believe the only real insurance measure from this is putting money into projects like NEM that do offer something new under the hood, as sure enough this game will stop. It has to stop, there are too many shitcoins out there, and only a handful will be successful, I dont think any more than 10 can really be sustainable in total if any of them will have major use. |

Stop trolling on the price!  Things will get better soon, and these devs are some of the few that deliver and dont hold false promises. low xem price on contrary has to please. because right now if you have free cash you can buy more and more xem. in 5 years you will remember this time where everyone had an opportunity to buy xem on such low price. personally i on each falling of price buy some xem and even i rejoice to that price falls. then we will have no such time any more when xem buy up not as now two person and many people will need every day xem. Or NEM will join the growing graveyard of dead altcoins. Who knows really. I've heard this "speech" about pretty much every single other alt that has ever existed.. dedicated followers trying to talk up the price, convincing themselves that they will be rich one day. Look in any thread about any alt with a falling price and you will find the same speech. That said, I do hold some NEM. But it's a small speculative position. if to speak about xem, all of us anyway come nearer every day to an interesting event. or xem as a coin will die at exchangers. or it will shoot up in price. about that will make someone rich here speech doesn't even go to shortest possible time. because all altcoins are at a great disadvantage at those moments when raise of btc begins. and therefore raise of altcoins is improbable at moments of raise of btc. if you want raise of your investments, you shouldn't put in altcoins by no means, remain always in btc. but if you want raise of your knowledge, in this case you can put in new technologies such as nem. what do you receive instead of material benefits? new knowledge, new technologies, more improved everything than btc which gives only material benefits, but thus doesn't give that knowledge and new technologies which nem technology gives. the market turns out works to opposite side. that isn't object of new knowledge, new technologies it's appreciated by market. that is object of new technologies and new knowledge it isn't appreciated by market. knowing it u will always know that investing in xem you don't receive raise in material, you receive raise of knowledge and raise of education in altcoins. if you approach business with such approach, a view of things will be perfect another. btc-profit material. xem-raise in knowledge. I invest in whatever crypto because of the technology and not because of speculation on price rise etc. We know that NEM or NXT and many other "altcoins" have far better technological advantage than BTC, but the masses invest in BTC because thats the first crypto and everyone talks about it. Yes holding onto BTC is probably not a bad idea. Me thinks i should perhaps buy some incase it did ever reach $10K or some even question $1M which i think is ridiculous. By that stage BTC would need some serious improvements as its blockchain would increase tenfold and the TPS would be too low. So yesterday was NXT's 2nd birthday? It is cool, i am here for only 1 year, and saw NXT grow big in the meantime. It was on my watchlist since last december And to tell you the truth i`m quite surprized how much it grow in the last year in terms of development and features. Its by fast the most innovative and feature-rich crypto out there. NXT will prevail! Just HODL! |
