1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][DARKSILK PREANN][TESTING STORMNODES/DarkSIlk MARKET/I2P] on: November 02, 2015, 04:34:20 AM
Well it was my birthday yesterday and it passed without a hitch.

Sadly (not really Cheesy) I was working on DarkSilk all morning, day and night and had actually not slept Halloween night as I stayed working from the 31st till about 6pm on the 1st, passed out and just woke now.

You guessed it, I'm working on the code again lol

The reality is this, I work all the f'ing time on DarkSilk and crypto, but I love it, I am not one of these developers that doesn't enjoy what I do. I am as hyped for the launch as you guys and was only tonight talking to my friend about how I am looking forward to doing the HTML5 wallet design and progressing the Weaver services it offers after launch. Even my friends who come over and see me at my computer all the time ask me "When will I be finished?" and "When are you launching it?" to which I reply "When I am done and happy". They all say the same thing, "That's fair enough" Cheesy

I know you guys just want the wallet now and want to launch ASAP and want want want, but let's be honest, wouldn't you rather I take my time, test, fix, secure and overall ensure a smooth and successful zero hour alongside limiting the reason to fork for any reason? I am sure the answer is a resounding "Yes!".

Here is what I would like to to do.I want to hold a meeting, on Skype or Google Hangouts (either/or) and I want input on peoples thoughts of the current specifications of DarkSilk, what they expect/like to see and don't like to see from a launch of an altcoin, what people would like to see at launch or in particular the future (we already have a lot for launch, lol), if people would want to be a part of a foundation or even to be a part of the marketing/promotion of DarkSilk.

Here is how it will work. No set time, yet, just PM me your email address you most frequently check, I will then formulate a list of everyone and mail out a choice of times, select the time that is best for you, I will then correlate the results and select the best time for the meeting. It will then be publicly posted here in the thread for all to join in case they didn't see this message originally.

Talk soon Wink

You have been doing alot of hard work and really deserve a well earned break after launch, i can wait for as long as it takes, do it right first time!  Cheesy

DASH is digital TRASH which in the end will ultimately CRASH
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats up with Digibyte? on: October 30, 2015, 10:33:01 AM
Never heard of it, I'll look it up some more

Its coming up 2 years, i started mining it when i was new to crypto, once doge become unprofitable i mined some and then sold my rig.

nice, so it it any good?

Got a good dev, but nothing overly unique to attract me to it.

NXT is where its at for me, but its good to diversify.

I mined about 40K of the things shortly after launch, ended up dumping them for NXT.
I still think NXT is a better investment, but anyone know why the sharp rise?
Ive seen this happen before with Digibyte, but am interested to know more.

Pump and dump?
Well most digibyte was dumped in the early stages of mining, perhaps its more profitable to mine again and perhaps they are once more dumping the coins they have pumped from mining?

WOW look at poloniex were all aboard the Titanic

it's good. even more blood!

Its many thing but good? I dont think so.

Agreed de-listing is a bad sign.

So I must ask, since "We have many developments in the future for NEM before marketing/long range is better" argument, first let me say technology moves quick, this team is not keeping up, by the time their promises, ahem, if their promises are kept the tech will be light years ahead.

Also if we are still in development phase why was there a distribution at all? You got money from a bunch of investors and promised cutting age technology and ideas, but have provided nothing and we are literally holding "XEM" that is worthless, there is N  O T H I N G we can do with it. Well I guess we could sell at a loss.

I can only assume this is a scam, or a sinking ship, you have given us nothing to prove otherwise but words. I await my PM about this post being removed lol. That's how you silence your critics, by pretending the criticisms don't exist and silencing them with your "self-moderating" topic. Stand up team you got.

Ethereum looks more like a sinking ship to me!

Lol I suppose you have not actually looked Eth?

Its price has dropped significantly too, although has bounced up again, doesnt offer anything new that NEM or NXT can do, they have used up all their IPO funds pretty much - where has all that gone?

They only have a command line interface currently and really have hardly got far compared to where NEM currently stands.

1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 27, 2015, 10:20:21 AM

Maybe create a separate topic announcing this? This is something altcoin creators want to know. It will take away a lot of work - but they have to know about this first.

Great idea! Done!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1221014.0

We really need to make sure altcoin creators are aware of NXT and it's possibilities!

Please tell me if I put incorrect information about NXT in the thread, i`m not that familiar with it, but I did from my best knowledge.

Well looks like I got censored, the thread is gone. I tried to help NXT  and new altcoin creators, but looks like the mods dont like NXT and censor it very heavily.

Anyway good luck with NXT!

someone quickly start a new thread! Grin
1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: October 27, 2015, 01:45:41 AM
These days it's like a Cambrian explosion of new code projects.

A couple years ago it was an explosion of Bitcoin/Litecoin forks which in many ways were kind of pointless.

But now we are seeing lots and lots of new projects, some using a Blockchain and some not but many really bring ledger technologies to the next level.

There is a lot of competition out there but when I look at a lot of other projects it's like one developer an ten guys promoting it. In NEM we actually have four amazing devs working every single day and many other people helping out and trying to get NEM ready for something way beyond crypto forums and speculators.

To really help NEM be the best we could use more people helping out though still. If you would like to get involved and help us out, send me a message and let's have a chat.

Those 10 guys promoting are why there more popular though

We aren't focusing on pumping to speculators on BTT.  For better or worse the decision was made a long time ago to not do that, but in the meantime I am still trying to post here.  When real deals have been signed, they will be announced here, but if you knew just how much was involved in real world meetings, you would be very surprised.  Makoto is definitely our best marketer and he has been to maybe close to 100 meetings I am guessing, maybe more.  The guy is busy.  Its not his job or responsibility to type to minute notes of those meetings on here, nor does he have time to because again he isn't trying to pump XEM to BTT speculators.  But again if/when a deal is signed, there will be press releases and official announcements.

I completley agree.

As for all the armchair experts posting here that nothing is being done, why dont any of them come forward and offer assistance if they think they can do a better job?

I think NEM is looking like a serious investment and it will pay off down the track in years to come.

This is the version I was informed to use a while ago by Palm - https://github.com/silkcointemple/silkcoin/releases/tag/v1.1.0.21

Clear your entire chain, download the above version.

Then put this file in your hidden data directory - https://github.com/SCDeveloper/Silkcoin-Blockchain-Bootstrap/archive/master.zip

The file above is a split archive and can be put back together using WinRAR or 7zip or Unzip (Linux) into its original bootstrap.dat form.

Once that's in place, start the wallet. It will import blocks from the bootstrap.dat and then you can sync the rest from the network.

OK, ill give that a go, i hope im still on the right chain, as i fear i might loose all my balance.

I am sure you'll be fine. This is the same chain as Cryptsy.

OK, sweet, well ive sent a small amount to poloniex to test it anyway.

Oh ok. Have you already installed that version, cleared your chain, downloaded the blockchain.dat and resynced already?

Havnt done it yet, its still downloading.
But at least the funds have shown in poloniex, so it should be all good i guess?

Try to sync your Silkcoin blocks from me - 82.8.176.59

1,164,191 Blocks in total and fully synced.
seems to be syncing for me right now says only one active connection to the network! lol Thats probably you!

Saves the day again Cheesy

I do have 22 connections though.

You appear to be using an older wallet version. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Now have 4.5 btc in buy, and 44btc in sale, that dosent look good,,,

Its almost game over for xem.

Whatever, XEM is more promising than most over coins out there!
So much work being done and good advancements being made and we have trolls like you that are butthurt because you did not buy any. Well i suggest you buy now, because prices wont be this good for long.

Your only trolling here because ETH dont have an active thread here... lol

Anyone else having trouble staking their silkcoin wallet?
I cant find any connections on the network!
(image removed for readability, CC)

Yes ive done that, but the wallet cant even sync, let alone stake!

Anyway, im using the later version of the wallet.

First, let's see if we can get you synced nzminer. Here are some peers:

23.227.190.182
95.90.218.108
194.135.94.86
104.255.33.186
115.70.149.131
188.165.42.51
82.8.176.59
151.224.68.90
71.115.160.71
108.20.142.214
37.59.24.199
75.130.163.51
71.65.208.48
204.11.237.233
212.5.143.239
50.162.235.186

You can edit your silkcoin.conf and add them by adding lines like this:
addnode=23.227.190.182
addnode=95.90.218.108
ect., ect., ...

If you do not know where your silkcoin.conf file is, on windows it would be within C:\Users\Your User Name Here\AppData\Roaming\Silkcoin\
On linux ~/.silkcoin/   (or otherwise stated /home/Your User Name Here/.silkcoin/ )

If the silkcoin.conf file does not already exist, simply create a text document containing all the "addnode= yadda yadda" lines and save it as silkcoin.conf (not as a .txt document) in the mentioned folder/directory.

Re-launch your wallet so it reads the config file.

Hope this helps you get synced nzminer. If any of this in unclear, please do not hesitate to ask here or by private message.

Thanks, i will give that a go and let you know if it works. Its been about two months since i last synced the wallet.
