221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 43%, alts surging ahead on: May 23, 2021, 04:10:51 PM
Just one word - bloodbath!

that is good news though because the altcoin market was in serious need of a purge like this. the altcoins have been pumped big time during the time bitcoin price was stable and higher than this. the traders had to cash out their profit from the altcoins they were holding after the pumps ended and bitcoin drop gave them that nudge.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is what Elon truly did, you have to know it! on: May 20, 2021, 05:46:33 PM
He might have taken the exit when the price pumped in the first place.
He might just invest back in few days thus people might sell their Bitcoins and put in doge.
The guy sold all his Bitcoins slowly and drastically because he was always on about the energy efficiency thing since people started criticizing him.
He is just manipulating but you can actually benefit from this state if you buy low and hold for the long term.

he didn't have to sell all to make profit, selling a little would have made him a lot of profit too. also the didn't have to sell anything at all, he could have just shorted bitcoin.

but my guess is that he thought he could FUD bitcoin to crash it and then at the same time pump DOGE which is why while he was FUDing bitcoin he advertise DOGE a lot.
if that's true he has already lost tens of millions of dollars since DOGE also dumped hard.
he didn't know that shitcoins get dumped when bitcoin drops Grin
223  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low can the next bear market go? on: May 20, 2021, 05:23:27 PM
it will either be a very short one that lasts a week or two before price goes back up and continues toward $100k or nothing at all and price reverses right now and heads towards a much higher price like it did back in May 2017 and the bear market starts in 2022.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is what Elon truly did, you have to know it! on: May 20, 2021, 05:08:35 PM
something people forget is that if it weren't for Elon Musk it would have been for someone else to start the chain of events after a FUD and cause a drop like this. if people simply started searching a little about bitcoin and also look at the bitcoin chart they can clearly see that what we are experiencing these days is not new at all!

it didn't start with the drop either, people have been doing the same when price was rising. they were associating the rise with him which may be the reason they are also associating the drop with him. which makes no sense since as i said this is not new at all but Elon Musk is new.
225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fucking rich whoever bought bitcoin around $30,000 -$31,000 on: May 20, 2021, 04:23:56 PM
it is always easy to talk about the lower price that used to be after we are above it and talk about who bought there. you could also say those who bought bitcoin when it was $3k last year instead of listening to the FUD about falling to $1k are rich.

also there is a lesson to learn here which is during drops like this you have to start buying but not all at once. place a bunch of buy orders all the way from $40k to $30k and hope for them to get filled. place less amount on the level that you least expect to be reached and most on others.
226  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there any benefit of using more than 100 dice rolls to generate a seed? on: May 20, 2021, 04:09:57 PM
Plus, there is an involved procedure to turn those 256-bit entropy into a private key. It's not simply just dice rolls to hex number conversion, you also must manually construct the private key WIF.

the point of using dice (or any other similar method) is to produce an entropy that doesn't rely on the computer or the code that was written by some developers. so we just replace the RNG with dice and the rest is straight forward so it can be done with the computer code.
227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrencies are not linked to the policies or the economy of any country. on: May 19, 2021, 05:50:06 PM
From my research, the strength of the cryptocurrencies lies on the mining power of the people.
it is actually the other way around. the mining power lies in the power and strength of the cryptocurrency.
for example a shitcoin with no strength will also have weak mining. if you increase its mining power it will never increase the strength of that cryptocurrency.

Quote
An economic stability and/or crisis of any nation doesn't determine the strength and the weakness of the cryptocurrencies.
i agree with this but the economic instability will definitely affect cryptocurrencies.

Quote
This is a great factor of important hence no country, no matter how strong can monopolize or manipulate cryptocurrencies,
monopolize and manipulate are two entirely different topics. also you can't talk about all cryptocurrencies at once.
as for manipulation, even individuals with enough power can manipulate anything even the biggest cryptocurrency. as it is evident from bitcoin.
but to monopolize a cryptocurrency you first have to centralize it. for example look at the centralized altcoins like XRP. the monopoly is very evident. there are other centralized coins that are not so obvious like ETH.

Quote
In the other hand, economically strong countries cannot aswell hijack cryptocurrencies. So, cryptocurrency is a currency for all.
this is again the same arguments about the level of centralization that the said cryptocurrency has. the more centralized they are the easier it would be to control them.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can not crash on: May 19, 2021, 05:06:58 PM
when price drops 30%-40% that IS a crash and bitcoin can crash and has had many crashes. the important thing is that bitcoin price is on an upward trajectory where it always goes up since the adoption is growing. that means there will always be a reversal after the crash.

as for the crypto market, unfortunately people sometimes think it is the same as bitcoin but it is very different. majority of altcoins are there to be pumped and dumped which means when they crash they are actually being dumpe so that the pumpers can move on from that coin.
for example when the pumpers including Elon Musk are done pumping DOGE they will start dumping it (which has already started) and move to another shitcoin to repeat the same thing.
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues dumping even MicroStrategy purchased additional Bitcoin. on: May 19, 2021, 03:41:33 PM
i would love to see the faces of those altcoin bag holders who have been fooled by people like Elon Musk to bag hold some useless shitcoin that is dumping so much harder than bitcoin these days. they must be in a big loss already, Elon included if he did indeed bag held DOGESHIT coin.

for now it is time to start setting some buy orders like a ladder starting from current price and decrease in steps of $1000 or so depending on your preference.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: MELTDOWN - if you don't sell now, YOU WILL LOSE MOST OF YOUR FUNDS!!! on: May 19, 2021, 02:44:01 PM
I think that's the most stupid advice I've ever read on this forum and your thread should be deleted urgently.

let the newbies who panic, panic and sell sooner than later because the faster we get rid of weak hands the faster we can get on with reaching the next target which is $70k otherwise they are going to prolonge the downtrend.
there is also the added benefit of us being able to buy bitcoin cheaper shhh Wink
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl is not the best option as it seems on: May 19, 2021, 02:38:10 PM
it depends on how you define "hodl"! buying at some arbitrary price and then "hodling" for a week thinking you are going to get rich is obviously not the best option because that is ridiculous by principle.

otherwise if you look at the long term price and the future potential of bitcoin you can see that right now the best option is to "buy and hodl" in a very nice dip.
232  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Questions about multisig on: May 19, 2021, 02:49:15 AM
I may have misunderstood this. It wouldn't make sense to brute force invalid scripts, but valid ones. Why would someone brute force scripts that couldn't be redeemed?

we are talking about finding hash collision not brute forcing scripts but the bytes you hash to find the collision in a P2SH output is the bytes that are converted to a redeem script so they also have to be a valid script.
233  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: p2pk scriptpubkey conversion address on: May 18, 2021, 06:35:05 PM
no you can't because there is no address defined for P2PK scriptpubkeys.
addresses are only defined for the following scripts: P2PKH, P2SH, P2WPKH and P2WSH
everything else is going to have to be represented as hex or asm.

when you are converting the P2PK to address you are defining your own standard that is not going to be compatible with anything else.
you are also hashing the entire script containing 0x41 at the start and the 0xac at the end which are not part of the public key.
234  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Questions about multisig on: May 18, 2021, 06:31:23 PM
i don't think we can say 160 bit is not secure, just that 256 bit is more secure. we still can't find a collision for 160 bit and it also won't be enough to find the collision the message that is being hashed (which would be the redeem script for P2SH) has to be a valid spendable script for it to work.

i also don't like this "By the end of 2015, 2^84 hashes have been calculated in Bitcoin mining" since the hashes are SHA256d not RIPEMD160 of SHA256.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This isn't the first time the dip has happened on: May 18, 2021, 05:33:30 PM
the most important thing for people who are new and are currently in the middle of this drama is to learn that this is also going to be repeated again. so they should soak this in, see how they made a mistake by acting irrationally based on their emotions and the lies that other people were telling them with fancy words. maybe by learning from this mistake they don't repeat it next time the same exact thing happened at a higher price level.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should you buy bitcoin right now? on: May 18, 2021, 05:08:00 PM
i can say with confidence that 90% of those people who have always said things like "it is too late to buy bitcoin" or "bitcoin price is too high" are either bullshiting us or they have no idea what they are talking about because these people never buy bitcoin when price dips. they always buy at the peak instead or not at all.

otherwise if you look at the social media these days the same people should be celebrating that the price has come down this much for them to pay the same amount of money as before but get a lot more bitcoin in return.
but are they celebrating? no, they are panicking instead and selling the small amount they had before.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans Bitcoin again in 2021 on: May 18, 2021, 04:47:15 PM
additional to your title being the FUD i'm not sure if this even has anything to do with bitcoin. plus i'm not sure if reuters is a reliable source of news when it comes to China and bitcoin. if history is any indication thie is not an actual "law" by the government but it may be some bank making an statement or worse only an employee and they make it into news.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will energy consumption be Bitcoins downfall ? on: May 17, 2021, 05:21:16 PM
no because the bitcoin's energy consumption is greatly exaggerated to the point that it is starting to look ridiculous. also when you compare the energy consumption that bitcoin has with anything else in the world you realize that it is really tiny in comparison.

these days i'm posting this video everywhere:
Bitcoin energy consumption by Andereas Antanopolos

239  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical Politics by an insane guy is the reason for this crash! on: May 17, 2021, 04:11:19 PM
why do people ONLY blame him? you should all blame the idiots who follow him. he is just a business man who has seen a perfect opportunity to make profit. a lot of others have done the same thing in the past history. take a couple of years ago when someone who most people hadn't even heard of called McAfee started abusing the social media to scam people with his pump and dumps. all those idiots who lost money in those shitcoins are to blame too. double the blame if they both lost money to that pump and dumper and lost money to this new pump and dumper called Musk.

the reason for the crash is existence of sheep in this market. we get rid of them every now and then when they panic sell and get out but they keep coming back.
240  Economy / Economics / Re: Real Truth about money economy and Investment on: May 17, 2021, 04:00:53 PM
you are crazy and naive.
you don't need some fancy degree from a university to know how the world works, know economy, investment, etc. of course the "fancy degree" is a good thing and it helps but it is not the only way. and of course having that degree has never meant they'd know anything.
