2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 17, 2022, 01:10:01 AM

I'm not sure if this is the latest update though, we have heard this if I'm not mistaken, that these 2 have agreed already verbally when they won their respective bout. And that was months ago that's why the target date is November 19.

They already build the hype train, fans are waiting, social media are exploding and having their own predictions as how the fight is going to turn out an who is the winner. They just have to sit down so that we will see this fight really happening this year or the next. And the timing of the release of the statement, this is Canelo and GGG week because they will have the fight.

Yes its the latest update, they agree to the terms

Quote
Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford have agreed to “all material terms” for a Nov. 19 fight, Mike Coppinger reports at ESPN.com, while Coppinger also notes that the deal has not yet been signed, though it’s expected it will be.

Errol Spence Jr vs Terence Crawford deal agreed for Nov. 19

It's almost a done deal Crawford will get less of the revenue split but if he wins and the loser triggers a rematch the winner will get a big share of the split on their next fight, yes, they have a rematch clause on their contract but will still depend on the outcome of the fight, but with these two fighters with a good stoppage record, I doubt it will end in a decision, its good that Crawford to get less in their revenue split just to get this fight going.

However, you also need to consider that both of them have not been stopped or knocked out before in the whole of their professional careers and they are also both undefeated boxers. This might end with a decision and it might be a split decision. If we are lucky, hopefully the odds makers might think this will end with a knockout and make the fight over or under 7.5 rounds, where we will bet on over 7.5 hehehe.

In any case, I am very shocked that the managers and the promoters from both of their teams have found an agreement. But as a fan I am very happy to see this superfight occur between 2 kings of welterweight.

Was excited by the prospects of the Chargers beating KC at home, but alas it was not in the cards.

The Chargers still won against the spread, however. It would have been a winning bet with the spread placed on +3.5 during the beginning of the week then a half point move on +4 during the last hours before the game began. There clearly was many unhappy people who bet on the Chiefs hehehe.
2203  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: September 16, 2022, 07:13:51 AM
News update.

It appears that there are 2 government regulators that have an arrest warrant for Do Kwon hehehe. Terra Luna might also be recorded in the crypto history books as the biggest ponzi schemes of the cryptospace. This is much bigger than Bitconnect.

How much was Bitconnect's highest market capitalization? Luna might have been more than 50 times bigger, I reckon.

South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for Do Kwon, CEO of Terraform Labs, four months after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, its native luna token and its TerraUSD algorithmic stablecoin — which together wiped out some $40 billion in value.

Chosun Ilbo, a South Korean newspaper, was first to report the news. The warrant was issued by the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office's Joint Investigation Team on Financial Securities Crimes (led by director Dan Sung-han) and 2nd Division of Financial Investigation (led by chief prosecutor Chae Hee-man), according to the report.

Kwon is currently believed to reside in Singapore, per the report, which stated that there have also been warrants issued for the arrest of Nicholas Platias, another of Terraform Labs’ founders, and Han Mo, another employee. They are charged with violating the Capital Markets Act.

I'm very curious how this will turn out.  I'm not sure there's evidence this was an actual Ponzi from the start, but I haven't cared much about the saga other than that I was saying how stupid it was for him to telegraph his buys like that, but now I see that he was doing it on purpose to pump Bitcoin for himself to get rich and then dump on everyone.  I'm not sure that's illegal though, but maybe we'll find out why soon enough.  It looks like they've taken his passport now to try and stop him from fleeing the country.  I'm sort of surprised he isn't already on a beach somewhere getting plastic surgery and a new identity, but maybe he is.  This is the most interesting case since Razzlekhan.

There might be arguments for both it is a ponzi and it is not a ponzi. If argued as a ponzi, the Lunatics can also argue that much of the coins in the cryptospace is a ponzi because to get value from your coins, you should sell it to someone who is willing to buy it from you with a higher price.

However, the other platform those Luna developers created was the ponzi. It was called Anchor and it offered 20% yield.
2204  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: September 16, 2022, 06:27:54 AM
@Pmalek. It was a custodial service and something similar to a bank where depositors store their coins as deposits in exchange for interest. However, the difference is the depositors' coins are being lent out to the corrupt people of the cryptospace or deposited to ponzi scheme platforms like Anchor hehehe.
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations on proof of work might be coming on: September 16, 2022, 05:04:07 AM
I speculate that because of the high cost of energy and the concerns caused by ESG, proof of work mining might be more than regulated. It might be banned in some jurisdictions. We might also begin to witness a more serious argument battle between proof of work vs. proof of stake within the cryptospace. I also predict that Elon Musk and Tesla will buy Ethereum for Tesla's balance sheet.
I'd say almost definitely, which would be a shame when you compare it to the other industries which are plainly being ignored. I don't know how wide scaled this ban would be, but I can see it happening in certain countries. The thing is we've entered an era where energy is on the tip of everyone's tongue, and how that might influence the environment is something that's almost become a marketing scheme. Basically, the more green friendly you're the more business you get.

There was a meme the other day, which I believe was actually true; a supermarket a well known one in the UK, decided to put Vegan friendly on some vegetables. Plus, fast food places are now doing plant based burgers. It's the future, it's exactly how you sell more, and look good in your customers eyes. That you care about the environment, and therefore care about them.

It's not any different with Bitcoin. Bitcoin doesn't look good for those that haven't adopted it, which is the majority of the population of the world, and therefore if the governments were to ban it for the energy concerns, despite how inaccurate they might be, they've achieve mass support.

It also appears that there are some organizations similar to Green Peace that are also beginning to use Ethereum's transfer to proof of stake as an attack on bitcoin. There might be powerful people who hate bitcoin and they will do everything to attack it. This might discourage institutional investors and certainly what would their next choice of coin be if they want to invest in the cryptospace?

Elon Musk will buy Ethereum on 2023 or 2024.

The long-awaited #EthereumMerge is here: the world’s 2nd largest cryptocurrency now uses 99.95% less energy, dramatically cutting its climate pollution!

Now it’s time for @Bitcoin to change.

Yordenis Ugas Eyes Ring Return Next Year, Targets Keith Thurman, Jaron Ennis, and Vergil Ortiz

Yordenis Ugas might not have that big hype named until he beats Manny Pacquiao and got his best ever title in his entire boxing career, the WBA SuperWelterWeight title that becomes his ticket to fight in an unification match against Errol Spence Jr. who prior to their fight, holding the IBF and WBC welterweight titles. Unfortunately, he failed to win in that match and the direction of his career becomes unclear.

However, he is looking forward returning to the ring next year and some of his targets are Keith Thurman (who didn't fight have an official fight for 31 months but still managed to win unanimously against Mario Barrios on February this year), Vergil Ortiz and Jarron Enis.

Not expecting much from him but good for him to make some money before retiring.

Ugas does not deserve to fight Boots Ennis or Keith Thurman, I reckon. Boots Ennis will be the next king of welterweight boxing and Keith Thurman has recently won versus Mario Barrios. It might be more deserving for Ennis and Thurman to fight each other and the winner challenges Spence or Crawford for the their championships.

This will be another one of the biggest comedy shows of the cryptospace if cryptocoin owners deposit and hold their coins in Celsius. It is very head shaking why regulators have not banned them from doing any type of business. However, if the comedy show begins, I wish the pornstar returns as head of lending hehehe.

Celsius Network CEO Plans Revival after Crypto Crash

CEO Alex Mashinsky spoke with the Celsius Network employees in a meeting on Sept. 8. He outlined a plan for the firm’s revival, according to a recording of the event shared with the New York Times. In the meeting, he and Oren Blonstein, another Celsius executive, said they hoped to rebuild the company with a focus on custody — storing people’s cryptocurrencies for them, and then charging fees on certain types of transactions.

Whale Who Bet $1M on Terra's Collapse Now Countertrading Jim Cramer
This gives me flashbacks of 2017-2018 when newbies who closed their eyes and selected any altcoin and make a profit from its pump during 2017 thought they were "experts" despite everyone warning them and ended up losing all their lifesavings during dumps.
It is worth noting that most of those who made profit by pure luck thought themselves to be good "predictors"...

Agreed. However, there is a difference between someone who is a whale in the cryptospace like Algod and someone who might only be a talking head for mainstream financial news media like Jim Cramer. Who would be the better predictor from the 2 of them if you were forced to choose? I will choose 100% Algod. Jim Cramer is good only for comedy hehehe.

It appears we are witnessing the beginning of this mining pool having their own cashflow problems. We have argued about this before on what miners and mining pools should do. I argued for miners or mining pools to take loans for their expenses monthly. Poolin decided to issue IOUs hehehe. This might work if their holders will trust the issuers for the whole bear market. However, how can the founders of Poolin assure the holders that they are not insolvent?

Chinese bitcoin mining giant Poolin will hand out IOU tokens to those impacted by frozen withdrawals.

The IOUs are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum and meant to mitigate the effect of the withdrawal suspensions, Poolin said in a blog post.

"Our priority, for the time being, is to resume withdrawals of as many coins/tokens as possible," the company said.

The IOUs come a week after Poolin paused withdrawals amid a liquidity crisis resulting from increasing demands on withdrawals, The Block previously reported.

Thank you Jim Cramer for showing as another countertrading sign hehehe!!!

Cramer thinks the mid-June market bottom will hold despite the many troubles facing stocks

“Sometimes I just want to tell these doubters, as I constantly tell strangers, don’t give up the ship,” Cramer said on “Mad Money,” hosting the show from Seattle.

@Fundamentals Of. Algod is not forcing everyone to follow his countetrading strategy on Jim Cramer. He was only doing this because it was funny for him and because he wanted to entertain his followers. Jim Cramer is similar to our old friend Tom Lee. We do not need to take this very seriously hehe.
2212  Other / Archival / Re: FTX - Derivatives Exchange. My Review on: September 14, 2022, 01:19:33 AM
This might be the weirdest partnership in the cryptospace hehe. What is FTX's plan in their partnership with a chain of video game and electronics retail company? FTX might be speculating on play to earn and NFTs next after organizing themselves as one of the largest cryptocoin and derivatives exchange. I am also quite certain this will not only be about FTX giftcards.

Video game firm GameStop (GME) is partnering with Sam Bankman-Fried’s crypto exchange FTX.US to promote interaction between the gaming and crypto community.

The deal unites GameStop, one of the key players in the meme-stock craze of a year and a half ago, with one of the leading crypto exchanges.

The two companies will promote e-commerce and marketing initiatives, while certain GameStop retail stores will carry FTX gift cards, according to a statement Wednesday. GameStop is also being given the label of FTX’s “preferred” retail partner in the U.S.

Deal terms weren’t disclosed.

What an event and leaving the fans in the Apex wanting more!
They witnessed a grappler taking down his opponent as perfectly as possible and it was a sight to behold.

Now why did Holland even try to touch gloves right after the match had started?
They do that when they meet in the middle of the octagon at the very beginning.
Don't trust an opponent like Chimaev to be your friend or friendly once in the ring.
That was his first mistake. Then from there it went all down hill.
That choke hold finished him off quick and clean. Once again Khamzat was not touched in this match and goes 12-0.
They are saying his next opponent who could atleast be worthy enough to step in there and make it challenging for him would be Colby.

UFC 279 was not in the Apex, it was in the T-Mobile Arena. The Apex is a much smaller place located in the headquarters of the UFC in Las Vegas. The T-Mobile Arena is a bigger place which is also located in Las Vegas hehehe.

Much of the arguments say Khamzat tricked Holland, however, I am quite certain the fight would have ended similarly with Khamzat the winner if did not trick Holland. I speculate Borz with Paddy the baddy to be the faces of the UFC.

Another victim of Hodlnaut has been discovered. Algorand Foundation has lost $35 milllion in USDC after having exposure in the cryptolender before it suspended withdrawals.

Oh, yea, yet another piece of the great list of "strong" businesses, built on top of each other like castle of playing cards...
I guess that we have to be happy there's crypto winter now and then to get rid of these before they grow bigger (and make even more damage when they collapse).

Hehe if they want to become similar to banks but their source of profit is from the yields of very speculative Defi tokens, they will certainly never become big. Everything will be over when the bubble pops. What will be head shaking in the cryptospace is these type of services will return and it will again lose millions of users money.
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations on proof of work might be coming on: September 13, 2022, 01:46:18 AM
I reckon this only gives an argument for those cryptocoins that are trying to maintain Asic resistance to develop methods to maintain it longer.
Only if ASIC resistance wasn't a fake concept and could actually be implemented. So far what we have seen has been ASIC postponement since they create a different algorithm that the existing ASICs are not meant to solve so it buys them time until the day there is enough incentive for them to build a new ASIC that solves that particular algorithm. Like LTC history with scrypt which was introduced as ASIC resistance until the day they created LTC-ASICs.

I am aware of this. This is why I was saying to try to maintain Asic resistance or develop methods to maintain it longer. I reckon the best example of a cryptocoin that has been trying to maintain Asic resistance is Monero. However, their hard fork to the RandomX mining algorithm might be the last try. If it will not successful, they will change the mining algorithm again to Sha 3 where it will be easier for hardware developers to create Asic.

It appears that I should have followed how everyone ranked their draft picks instead of trying to speculate and outsmart everyone. Choosing Christian McCaffrey instead of Jonathan Taylor was my biggest mistake and presently my biggest regret. You are welcome Hhampuz hehe.

News update on Lamar's contract extension. This is head shaking. What type of contract does he want with the kind of economy the whole world is presently in. Will this cause Lamar to play better to prove himself for a better contract?

Report: Lamar Jackson turned down long-term deal worth up to $290M with Ravens

Source https://www.sportsnet.ca/nfl/article/report-lamar-jackson-turned-down-long-term-deal-worth-up-to-290m-with-ravens/

It’s week one. Nothing is set in stone, we’ve still got 17 weeks left in the season. I personally would have drafted Taylor but my next pick would be Christian McCaffrey. He’s an extremely versatile running back and he pick it up. Again, we are looking at just one week here. But if you’re truly down on him he can trade him to me! Smiley

Can’t believe the Bears won. I put some btc on the Niners but I guess this is one of those times I’m “happy” to have lost the money. Still going to be a shitty season for them but this was impressive.

Agreed, however, I am very disappointed in my fantasy team being the first participant to pick in the draft. Jonathan Taylor would have me on the lead vs. you this week if I did not speculate on Christian McCaffrey. Next season, my first 6 picks will be the safest picks. Also, I learned that MacCaffrey is prone to injuries hehehe.

In any case, do you have a bag of peanuts? I might trade Cam Akers by week 5 or 6 if Sean McVay decides to use Henderson more than Akers.

Also, where is Mike Evans?

Again, it's week one.  Like I said I would have drafted Taylor of McCaffrey is a star as well and there will be weeks when he scores more than Taylor.  He's also more involved in the passing game than any running back in recent memory (since Matt Forte or so).  He will be fine.   And Evans, what do you mean? He had like 70 yards and a TD.  That's an awesome game.  He will also have some much bigger games. Week one, deep breaths lol

I posted the question before he made the touchdown hehehe. Yes I am happy. Tom Brady was throwing everything on Julio Jones for much of the game, however.

In any case, Cam Akers ruined my first week. I hope week 2 will be better for him after Sean McVay's statements.

Also, I was shocked to see the score was 0 - 7 when I started to watch the game.

It appears very similar to Celsius where they might not really care about their trustworthiness and reputation to make many stupid investments with their depositors' coins. If they are wrong, they declare bankruptcy and go create their next scam.

It's about time, a lot of other countries have already regulated bitcoin mining and they haven't done it yet over there. It's funny how they go at it from an energy standpoint at this point when they are also facing an energy "price" crisis.

There might be good arguments on the regulation of bitcoin mining and the regulation of energy usage of proof of work mining in America, however, similar to what the regulators have always done before, they use the laws and the rules created into a weapon to use against the ones who are regulated.

I reckon this only gives an argument for those cryptocoins that are trying to maintain Asic resistance to develop methods to maintain it longer.
