2221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto moving into world. Algo sponsor FIFA on: June 03, 2022, 09:36:02 AM
Initially Crypto.com got to be the sponsor of FIFA and later Byju's educational application got the deal for a whooping $40million. By that time itself it is announced that Algorand is the green partner for FIFA World Cup 2022. Also it is mentioned as the blockchain partner and this helping the FIFA to develop its digital assets strategy for Web 3.0 makes way for the growth of altcoins. More firms have begun to sponsor different events and this is the first time ab altcoin is directly getting into sponsoring/partnering an event.

Nigeria had an unregulated market for cryptocurrency and now Nigeria government have issued new laws on issuance, exchange and custody of digital assets. In the past Securities and Exchange Comission of Nigeria along with the Central Bank of Nigeria banned enterprises doing businesses with cryptocurrency. Today Nigeria's SEC have issued licenses to operate Virtual Asset Services. This has got more terms and conditions to be fulfilled to receive the licence. The service should fulfill anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism.

These growth helps the network to grow strong. Also people this will give some visibility make unknown people know about bitcoin. It is the decision of the CEO and she is quite strong to get into the market.
2223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: June 02, 2022, 06:01:20 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad

This is frustrating and it's fine to feel bad about that experience but you have to take it as a lesson as well. Keep in mind that there will always be unlucky days and we're not in control of that because gambling is mostly luck-based. However, you must learn from what you experience by knowing your limits. If you're losing, it doesn't mean that you'll win if you'll bet continuously. You also have to set a certain limit and allocate enough funds for gambling so you'll know when to stop.
When we gamble with some target, even when we've won good we won't be able to stop and take a break. This means if I've decided to stop once reaching $90 winning and reached $85, I will go for the remaining $5 and this makes me loss everything. This has happened several times and I even tried to hold funds in vault and use a limited amount, but at times we get into emotion and withdraw from vault and end up losing.

One of the popular person who can be seen into controversy have now tossed a tweet that the IPL final match was rigged. He also connected the incident with the president of BCCI stating him as defacto dictator. He mentioned it requires a Public Interest Litigation and government will not do it as he's the son of Amit Shah who is the minister of Home affairs.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 02, 2022, 08:20:02 AM

Some of the presumptions of your post romero121 are truly cringeworthy, but it seems that you are somewhat blindly parroting several of the various dumbass talking points of the article... such as 1) bitcoin emissions will push global warming up 2°, 2) there's even any kind of possibility that bitcoin would move to proof of stake or that lame-ass proof of stake is an actual preferred solution that should be taken seriously (unless you want to uninvent bitcoin.. good luck with that dweeb - not necessarily referring to you romero121 - even though you seem to be blindly parroting the talking-points of the article), and 3) a kind of underlying presumption that ONLY green energy is good - which has been coming off as so lame in recent times that it is difficult to take seriously (a seeming misleading attempt to suggest that "we" should forget about all the so many ways that energy production advantages man and to limit ourselves in how we think about the various ways that energy production brings benefits to civilizations to get ahead).

I am not against ideas around attempting to harness ways that volcanos can contribute to any energy grid.. especially if there are volcanos available, which seems to be the case for El Salvador.

It seems that there are going to be times in which any kind of focus on possible benefits of one kind of energy production might well be spinning the matter in ways in which care needs to be taken in which parallel energy system should not be forgotten - even if there may well be many benefits in attempting to take advantage of a kind of energy source (referring to volcanos) that seems to be quite abundant in that area.
I used to look for updates on the different actions happening on El Salvador. As a result came across this article that described about the usage of volcanoes as energy source. What I've mentioned is wrong that the global warming could rise 2° due to the emissions out of cryptocurrency mining. Also I missed to mention ethereum mining process shifting to proof of Stake. Now both proof of work and proof of Stake are running parallel. When complete shifting happens, this too could reduce the emission. Finally I apologise for sharing wrong information without proper study about the article contents.
2226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 02, 2022, 12:30:02 AM
Understand Volcano Mining

The growth of cryptocurrencies have a big change in the financial system all around the world. Following this there is concern about the effects over environment due to mining. For this there is need for good alternative energy source. According to a study bitcoin emission will push global warming by 2° which is really bad.

It is a must to reduce the carbon emission out of bitcoin. One way is the usage of renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels. Second way is shifting their mining process from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake. These two can't be easily achieved all around. According to the region and availablity of resource planning needs to be done.

El Salvador have got 30 Volcanoes. Among those Volcanos, 20 were active. The country have already planned for the Bitcoin City and the mining to be powered by Volcanoes. In this process the geothermal energy out of Volcanoes will be used. The volcano powerplant of Berlin can be taken as a prototype and can be modelled for Bitcoin City.

Quote
The plant consists of 16 shafts, up to 3000 feet deep from which circulated steam is used to propel the turbines situated inside. The turbines can generate up to 107 megawatts of power. This energy source currently fuels 300 computers working 24/7 to mine Bitcoins. El Salvador’s volcano power plants in its future Bitcoin city will work similarly.

2227  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 01, 2022, 11:59:41 PM
It is the market sentiment to have a bounce during the start of the new month. This can get carried, but with the present market situation we can't come to conclusion. As per my understanding, the low bottom isn't touched. Probably there is price prediction of reaching $10k. It won't drop that low, but there is a bottom price which is down to $25k. We should remember the days before bitcoin reaching its ATH value. During that time the market was predicted to fall lower after a massive fluctuation, but it moved to the top. So, the market could over perform as well as out perform unexpectedly.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 01, 2022, 11:49:26 PM

The Sri Lankan women's team is very weak. They have lost every match of the T20 series. And their performance in the ODI series is even weaker. They lost all their wickets for just 169 runs. My guess is that Sri Lanka will lose the other two matches of the ODI series as usual. Their batting and bowling lineups are both weak. I have not seen any experienced player in the team.
Sri Lankan women's team used to perform better, and now the results were different. At the last order Kavisha Dilhari managed to score 49runs. If that run hasn't added, the score might've got stopped within 150runs. The team need to work, with the prevailing economic crisis within the country they don't get much of access. On the other side Pakistan women's team is getting stronger by day. Winning the match losing just two wickets is simply good.
2229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Mantra After, while playing And Before You Gamble on: May 30, 2022, 11:25:10 PM
Gamblers used to have superstitious beliefs. In a short they'll understand, it isn't powerful anymore. Some used to wear specific colour dress and used to play from specific locations and so on. I've tried to play from specific locations and in two particular places I've lost big. I've tried playing from those locations later and experienced the same. However these are just the mind that accepts the loss in some way and there is nothing connective to it.

In real-time gambling I've seen people playing cards sitting on the same order from morning to night. If a person is lucky to win and in between if he leaves, then for the particular position is filled by shuffling lot.
2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market rise in June on: May 30, 2022, 05:13:41 PM

We only can analyze and see every market movement and also news from the crypto world that is very likely to affect the price of BTC and have a strong impact on altcoins. If anyone can tell which coin will perform well in June it is very possible that he just wants to influence the coin to make people enter to that coin market.
If bitcoin falls further during this period, then you should not expect that any individual coins will be able to show very good growth. The market follows bitcoin, and it is bitcoin that determines the movement of the market, and if some coins can grow during this period, then this is usually a short-term pump, after which the price basically returns to previous levels.
There is small bounce in the price of bitcoin. The price have reached above $30500. Over the last week the price was found within $30k. To the lowest it reached $26350. Compared to the price, there is good progress and this can continue if the investors push the market with the investments. As said entire market is dependent over bitcoin, so no individual altcoin gonna make a bullish move. Maybe some coins out of manipulation will have such market movements.
2231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 30, 2022, 03:54:45 PM
What a start by GT of there IPL journye. First time they are participating and they won the title on very first appearance, teams like RCB are still looking for there first title. Hardik Pandya closed mouth of people who are criticizing him for his bad performance. I am sure after this title win Hardik Pandya will be recalled at least in Indian T20I squad.

In terms of captaincy, two players impressed everyone this time - Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson. On the other hand, those who disappointed us are - Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. For the other four captains, I have more or less neutral opinion (Rohit Sharma, Kane Williamson, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul). If Hardik is able to cement his position in the Indian team, then it may not be a bad idea to make him the captain of the T20 side. Samson is not a regular, so it is going to be hard for him.
More players have prepared themselves to be the next captain for the T20 team. I find Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul to more able, because without any prior experience taking the teams to the top is part of their captaincy. During this season Ravindra Jadeja was expected to make a big moment, as Dhoni is supportive and guiding in all means. Every season the competence is getting hard.
2232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What approach do you expect from the Government if your Country adopt bitcoin? on: May 30, 2022, 12:46:29 PM
In my country the government has not legalized bitcoin but crypto transaction applications have been shown on television, digital currency is no stranger to the public's ears and many have even invested in crypto, is this a sign that the government will legalize digital currency in the future?
In most countries this is the legal status of cryptocurrency. The governments never take a stand on legality, but opposes usage as well as create plans of developing its own CBDC. Even in my country this is the same, the government haven't mentioned anything official on the legality. It is possible to see more and more applications being advertised on television, and when checked those applications they're registered on crypto friendly countries and operating all around.
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin price drop is an excellent time to buy bitcoins on: May 30, 2022, 10:46:44 AM
actually lowering the price of bitcoin is a good time to buy bitcoin but when bitcoin goes down many people don't buy bitcoin for fear of bitcoin price going down again. finally those who dare to take the attitude of buying bitcoins will win in the future.
It's like a cycle, people want prices to go down but when they go down they hesitate and wait again, as a result they never buy until bitcoin returns to ATH and after that they regret it. Things like this we will always see in cryptocurrencies and it's a bit of a joke for me personally to see the same thing every year.
This is out of the fear. For now there is small forward move, and this could trigger the cryptocurrency users to invest for a profit believing in growth. When the market is in continued downtrend without much of progress out of the fluctuation people have a feeling that the price will fall even further. As per different predictions the market is supposed to go low to $25k and before that every opportunity need to be used to book profit.
2234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: May 30, 2022, 05:07:54 AM
they've made contributions to the society out of the profit from the people's money invested on bitcoin

am not clear about what you meant by the statement "out of the profit from the people's money, to me this is a kind of statement that could be termed as extortion which is wrong, why use people's money in the context from the first place, i think it would have been best said that El-Savador contributions to the society is on the basis of the revenues generated, if you make use of your money to buy a product, would you later refer the money in the hand of the seller as your money again after you've bought the product and left? while the funds in disposition of El-Savador could as well be referred to as government funds, which could have been from different sources such as IGR and the likes.
Taxation is levied over each and everything and this is done just to fund essential services. It can be infrastructure development, industrial development, creating job opportunities attracting investments, etc. Where does this tax money comes from, common man to the elite, industrialists, entrepreneurs, etc. In the past taxation money were used to making the lower class of people grow. If the government doesn't have tax money, what'll be its source of money. Just on that contrast I've mentioned it as People's money. I might be wrong, but on this basis I've mentioned it People's money.
2235  Economy / Economics / Re: Enticing customers to make payment with crypto. on: May 30, 2022, 03:56:12 AM
Discounts welcome more users make use of cryptocurrency as Payments. Do you have any reason why people aren't interested in making payments with cryptocurrencies. To my understanding, people consider it as an investment that brings in profit in the long term, whereas if spend on a product there'll be variation in the pricing due to the volatility. What we buy spending $30 in bitcoin can be bought with just $20 tomorrow if there is increase in price.
2236  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe? on: May 29, 2022, 07:15:04 PM
I think this is a opportunity of Venezuela. Europe wants oil and gas. It has the required tech. Venezuela needs money and food. If europe want long term security. It should make sensible long term investment in Venezuela.
Venezuela takes tenth position in oil export and 13th position on oil production. Already it is a big exporter and the countries include USA, China and India. Nearly 57% of the oil is exported to the above three countries. Maybe citing the ongoing situation, the USA can make a talk. Already Venezuela is economically down and this change is just a discussion, but it is quite hard to get approved by the authority.
2237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Between $24K and $27K on: May 29, 2022, 05:11:29 PM
The price is around $29k for a long, every week there is no big forward move. The fluctuation have kept the market decline gradually. This could fall further, if few whales pull out from the market. The market bleeds red and the same is to be considered the time to invest. For time being there isn't much of investment happening, because last year there were more new entries into the market which is also a reason for the market to get bumped.

Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet.

You are lucky that you lose only 98$, I lost 175$ yesterday and 60$ last week. You can easily imagine how I would be feeling right now. Gambling is all about losing your hard earned money in few minutes or seconds. Despite all my efforts I can't restrict myself from gambling.
A loss is loss, and what made my loss bad is that I lost every bets to roll over 20. That is really bad, and a loss of $235 is really big for a common gambler. As far gambling is concerned, don't try to recover those losses. Give some time or take a break and this will help you atleast get back little than emotionally getting lost.
2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 29, 2022, 02:29:29 PM
Maybe a league for the test cricket similar to IPL needs to be conducted. Based on the time constraints test cricket have been losing its importance. To strengthen the domestic test cricketing lowering the number of days and conducting a league seems to be a better choice. Whether it is region based or club sided domestic cricket, allowing them to participate in those leagues will be more effective in terms of revenue too.
2240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: May 29, 2022, 02:00:13 PM
Following the adoption from El Salvador more countries showed interest on cryptocurrency adoption. The recent one one the list is Paraguay. Latin American countries are taking it more seriously and strive hard to be the centre for financial technology.

Paraguay have got the lowest electricity consumption charge among the Latin American countries. This makes Paraguay as the mining haven for cryptocurrencies. The Chamber of Deputies Paraguay made plans to regulate cryptocurrencies.
