1261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 29, 2023, 11:32:52 PM
We see one more case of people using other people's money just for gambling, which may be another case of gambling addiction. She should be able to keep the money and not be tempted to use it for gambling. She really needs to get help to overcome her gambling problem and not let her do it again in the future. But at least she should get punished for what she did so he doesn't repeat it in the future. If it were her own money, maybe that would be fine, but the problem was she was using many people's money and had to be accountable to all of them as well.
Myself too had this experience. He send me 3 Ethereum to cashout and I used it to gamble. I was able to win 0.5 Ethereum. The greed didn't left me, and I wanted to change it to 1 Ethereum as profit. Even the 1 Ethereum profit is being achieved and the greed continued. This made me loss everything and I borrowed money to settle my friend. This activity is really bad and later only I understood what wrong thing I've done.
1262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 29, 2023, 11:29:09 PM
what you say is very true, the prestige is really needed by the fifa world cup so that it continues to be the biggest sporting event in the world always and it is very good if FIFA continues to maintain it for 4 years

I myself see that what FIFA has been doing for a long time has been very good, the selection they have made has also been very good so far so increasing the number of countries playing will only add to the burden and I think it will be bad for the future of the world cup
I believe that year after year the FIFA management/staff intends to make some changes in the future world cups, I confess that I am not a sports specialist, but I do not know if the insertion of more countries in the world cup will be something extremely beneficial , I have no doubt that this will help a small country that has never participated in a world cup, but I have no doubt that it could lower the level of future world cups.
For me, an icing on the cake of the world cup is the fact that it takes place every 4 years.
The changes made in recent seasons haven't affected the teams or the football game in any means. Similar will be the changes, and the move of adding more teams will make football even high. When more countries gets chance to participate, it truly make more people turn to be fans of football. More teams into FIFA won't affect the future of Football which is really a wrong guess.
1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 29, 2023, 11:25:12 PM
What a day for the Indians. First, the Indian women's U-19 team won the World Cup comprehensively. Second, the Indian men's team are decimating the New Zealand team in the ongoing second T-20 match.

Almost all Indian bowlers bowled well to be honest while the New Zealand batsmen performed like crap. Looks like the final T-20 will be the decider.
Just as yesterday was a very happy day for India, it was also a very sad day for England. Yesterday England men's cricket team lost against South Africa despite a very good performance in ODI, while England U19 women's cricket team lost against India in Women's T20 world cup 2023.  India defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets yesterday to level the 3-match T20 series at 1-1.
In the men's cricket the England team played really well and unable to level the series is a real disappointment for them. By the same day the U-19 Women's team losing to U-19 India Women's is really bad. This loss from the Mens team could've made them low. Anyhow they need to make themselves strong looking for the World Cup.

Djokovic won the australian open as expected despite the score being 3 0 two of the sets were entertaining tsitsipas performed really well in this tournament, but djokovic is the number one at the moment i think this is his chance to win all grand slams in one year the only potential threat for him is alcaraz and maybe nadal depending on his form.
This is an expected result. Tsitsipas have fought good making it an interesting match than an one sided game. Djokovic have won with the set results of 6-3 77-64 77-65. With this win once again Djokovic proved he's the No.1 and the upcoming tournaments to bring good win through this. He missed the tournament last year and a good comeback.
1265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2023 be another up year for Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2023, 11:12:31 PM
i think half year will go downwards then we can aspect recovery
and nice image it shows like this year will be up

That is your assumptions or narratives, because the up going the price of Bitcoin does not have any fixed time or specifications for increment,  the price of Bitcoin is determine by the demands and supply of the market, which it can happen now or next day because of the volume of the market. So no particular time we can say that it's fixed for Bitcoin market increment. Some of those analysis is assumptions from different people understanding of the market.
The variation happens in accordance to the demand and the supply. As for now the market is in good position and we don't know what happens by the second half of the year. Just think of the previous year, when the market is predicted to bounce continuously it started to fall down as more and more negative news connective to cryptocurrency market started to roll out.
1266  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: January 29, 2023, 11:07:00 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?
If your family is fearful you leave your job it's because they don't feel secure only with the passive income you make. That is a tough situation, because a fixed formal job is what most people look nowadays, since it gives stability, while your passive investment might not. On the other hand, if that is a nightmare for you to work on that spot, who am I to tell you to not abandon it? Tongue

If I were you, I think I would look for another job. If I found something, I would leave the currently one, but wouldn't rely solely on the passive income, especially when having a family to feed.
When someone is depending on you, and they're fearful about the economic situation I'll never go for the choice of leaving the job. When the passive income goes higher it is time to invest the excess amount on something else and make the revenue increase. At times the regular day job might be stressful, at such situation we can think of an alternate choice of moving to another job.
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to acquire Bitcoin without having the basic knowledge? on: January 29, 2023, 11:01:33 PM
Basic knowledge is very simple if you're technically skilled. You need to know how to keep your recovery phrases secure and how to buy cryptocurrencies. This will let you know better about cryptocurrencies when you start to observe the market often. More number of cryptocurrency applications are available and that makes every process easier. Among the third party service providers, there are trusted ones. If is our responsibility to find the trusted one and use it.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to be great? Then be ready to learn. on: January 29, 2023, 10:55:11 PM
Through learning many things can be done. What we experience with cryptocurrencies too something similar. Based on our learning and acquiring knowledge we were able to enjoy the good out of the cryptomarket. Very few show interest learning more and more, whereas the majority simply depend on the luck or try to stay with what they know.

Learning too kind of hard work. We're putting the efforts and looking for the rewards. The rewards will be received in the form of money, fame and many more. As the thread title states, learn and you can be great someday for sure.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Approximately 384 Days until the next Bitcoin halving on: January 29, 2023, 10:50:34 PM
How many of you are eagerly waiting for the next halving?
384 days is over a year from now, can you really keep up the enthusiasm you have now and keep counting down to the next halving? If you can that will great, but otherwise, there is no need to sweat it, but just concentrate on whatever strategy you have for accumulating bitcoins. The halving is something that will surely happen, the knowledge of it should also contribute to your courage to HODL.
Close to the days will be more enthusiastic. For now, we can have a reminder that we're getting just a year ahead and it is time to accumulate as much possible. The halving cycle have brought good increase in the price of bitcoin over the past events. This time too expecting the same. This being a special event, more expectations will be found among all level of investors.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 28, 2023, 11:59:56 PM
England's posibility of winning yesterday's match were high but who expected that they lose in that match? In the second innings England bat against 298 runs where Jason Roy and Dawid Malan scored significantly well but other teammates failed. As a result, they had to be defeated even in an easy match. This is the first match of the series there will have two matches left so England will be desperate to keep the series alive.
I will also agro with you in this point that there few player failed to perform well in batting side. But I think England team are also tried their best because their runs score speed was also good But they suffered this loss due to early wicket fall. Moreover, South Africa got the benefit of playing on their home ground specially in the batting side. But if England's middle order batsmen could have stayed on the pitch then I think they would have had a chance to win. Reviewing this match, what I would say is that if England improve their bowling performance tomorrow, they can win.
England was in good position even though the middle batsmen failed to support with the scores, but the unwanted wickets of Mohammad Ali and Curran when they need to be more responsible scoring was a big mistake. The thing is that they had enough balls, which means they're not in a pressure to go for big shots. Taking ones and two's itself enough to win the match.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 28, 2023, 11:58:31 PM
What a failure by the overconfident Indian side playing against Newzealand. I mean non of the Indian bowlers were able to restrict the Kiwi's batter and then we saw Arshdeep Singh giving away 51 runs in just 4 overs. I cannot forget the last over when he started with a no ball. I had that feeling that he would again start that no ball or wide ball thing.

Unfortunately Ishan the Kishan again failed! We as a country and the team management still believe he is the one. According to me, he is just a waste and the Indian team management should give him an opportunity to Shaw. I am confident if he gets that opportunity he would fail as he has shaky hands when playing in an international tournament.

Let's see what happens tomorrow.
Overconfident? How? Giving young players more chances doesn't imply that they are automatically overconfident. Arsh screwed up once again along with Kishan and Gill, but they didn't look overconfident at all to me.

T-20 format is extremely volatile when compared to other formats which is why anything can happen no matter how strong the team is on paper.

thats true in T20 you can never predict that who will be the winner just like in football. We saw recently in football WC that teams like KSA and Tunisia beating top teams like Argentina and France. In T20 format your luck also matter a lot apart from your ability to win the game. Still there are matches left in this T20 series and there is still chance for India to bounce back.
Football is different and what happened is completely unexpected. Those are exceptions which won't happen later, because the teams have made themselves with an understanding. Earlier they made a miscalculation and lost, but the same mistake isn't made later. With T20 cricket, even a bowler performing unexpected with just rotating the bat at the final moments change the match.
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who else have my kind of mindset for Bitcoin 2023 on: January 28, 2023, 11:55:03 PM
My focus was towards the year 2024 as halving falls. The gradual rise in the market will have downturn at some point, so that it can once again make a bounce when the market is close to the days of halving. The bullish move at the moment is really good and enjoyable, because none predicted to have a good start in the year.
1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin now so you don't have to regret it later. on: January 28, 2023, 11:37:12 PM
Many people feel that they have missed the opportunity or they're late into the market. Very few get opportunity to enter the market at the right time. We recently reached down to $17k and now we've bounced back. Taking it a chance entering the market is quite good than regret of missing chances in the future when people who entered the market right now enjoying financial growth.

Market is always subject to fluctuation and there is always bullish and bearish movement. We need to have a choose the entry point or else we need to invest regularly unlike the price as we were able to invest on the smallest denomination.
1274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 27, 2023, 09:48:24 PM
Some news here guys:

USA will host 2024 Copa America
Source: https://www.inquirer.com/soccer/usmnt-copa-america-2024-united-states-20230127.html

The championship will have all teams of Conmebol = 10 + 6 teams of Concacaf = Total 16 teams

Why I'm posting this?
I think it's a great warm up to USA, having a small championship to be more prepared to 2026.
It's a good thing for the team too, because they will compete with south american teams, it's a good way to be more prepared and play with better teams like Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

The favorite teams to bet are Argentina and Brazil hehehe, not hard to predict and win some money.  Cheesy

Since the 2022 World Cup we were able to see a big number of unexpected match results. As mentioned it gives good opportunity to practice as well as know about football and the venues in which different the teams playing prior to the World Cup. It is too early to have a connect with the World Cup, but having a warm-up every evening makes every match interesting.

~
Jason Roy returned to the dressing room with 113 runs. I thought Jason Roy would score around 130-150 runs. However, there are still experienced players like Buttler and Curran at the crease. Moeen Ali got out after collecting only 11 runs. England still needs 70 runs to win. Apart from Buttler and Curran, there are no experienced batsmen. If these two batsmen cannot stay at the crease then England will not be able to win. Anyway now I am enjoying the match. I expect England to win.
After a great start from England chasing a total of 298 runs, they are struggling as South Africa was able to pick wickets at regular intervals and England already lost their 7th wicket. The only hope is Sam Curran is still in the crease with the tail end and they still need 42 runs to win the match which is going to be really tough and i had to cash out the bet as i am not having any hope with the tail  Angry.
This is the very crucial part of the match, because fall of wickets could change the result of the match. England have lost the wicket of Sam Curran and now they're in need of another 33 runs in 48 balls. This is reall tough scenario as both the teams do the best to win the match. Adil Rashid at 10* and Archer into the crease need to have patience while scoring as they don't have wickets.

ICC Under 19 Women's T20 World Cup. India Women's u19 Cricket Team won the 1st semi-final match against New Zealand Women's u19 Cricket Team, finalizing the final match. India Women u19 performed very well in today's match. India Women u19 deserved to win the semi-final match. India Women u19 won by 8 wickets against New Zealand Women u19
I just say India is a big cricket manufacturing factory. From which good cricketers are constantly produced. India's position is top in both women's and men's cricket, with India Women U19 not far behind. India Women U19 won the 1st Semi-Final between India Women U19 vs New Zealand Women U19 today. New Zealand Women U19 set a target of 107 runs which is not a big score, India Women U19 chase the target by just two wickets and finished the match in just 14.2 overs and reached to the final. Since the beginning of this year, India has been performing well in every format and match. 2023 is definitely going to be a golden year for Indian cricket.
Women's team is performing good. Now it is the U-19 team which was at the border to reach semi finals have now reached the finals. This have increased the expectation over the next semi finals between England and Australia. Women's team were progressive and now upcoming World Cup have created the expectation. Slowly Women's teams were getting importance and BCCI too is doing the best for them which in the past used to show partiality in providing support. The U-19 finals result will make India more visible to the world.
1277  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 26, 2023, 11:47:39 PM
Am I the only one who thinks it's disgraceful the sportsbook released that information?

It is disrespectful to the gambler.

If that was me I would close my account and never gamble with that company again.

Discretion is everything in this game and these idiots have lost a lot of credibility in my opinion.

sportsbook has confirmed this information.
initially has been released shared by this tweet https://twitter.com/darrenrovell/status/1614603901021437954

For a certain point of view, this is a way for promoting their activities, a lot of people talked about them and know we know that they are able to accept such huge bets...
This also shows, anything could happen with sports betting and the importance of luck. Just because we go with the odds by the sports book or the prediction data provided by different platforms, it doesn't mean we'll win the bet. I'm sure then onwards while betting everyone will think twice whether to go for big money on small odds.
1278  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 26, 2023, 11:44:19 PM

1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
Yes, one day will definitely be zero when Bitcoin has experienced a crisis of trust, where the level of security is easily hacked, even others but of course when it doesn't know.

2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

Only memories, and Banga became part of Bitcoin's journey and still holding Bitcoin to the lowest point

Bitcoin to zero someday isn't possible based on the growth it has acquired over the years. With time the adoption keeps rising than declining amidst the adoption from different countries. The value could turn to zero if we encounter decline in bitcoin usage, as well as countries together stands against bitcoin usage. Such a situation won't take place anymore.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin gaining this much fame despite it's restrictions? on: January 26, 2023, 11:39:00 PM
For some reason the acceptance of bitcoin is good with most of the businesses. This has grown out of the increasing demand among the common people and upon people's better understanding about bitcoin as the best investment and transaction support system. The real-time usage access as well as the growth have made people look for loopholes to use it amidst restrictions in different parts of the world. This itself shows how demanding is bitcoin.
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: January 25, 2023, 11:45:46 PM
That's part of the market. When the scenario seems to be favourable whales entering the market with big money is quite common. When the market is on the bullish part it is good to just enjoy the trend than going in depth analysis and miss opportunities. If the market gets manipulated by the whales we should have the ability to hold, because the market that's been manipulated will bounce back at some point.
