1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2023, 06:48:16 AM
Todd Murphy is having a good outing so far and he has picked up his third wicket in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara. He has figures of 15-2-35-3 at this point, while Nathan Lyon has 20-4-66-0 to his name. The two relatively inexperienced bowlers (Todd Murphy and Scott Boland) have so far stood out among the Australian attack and this is the first time that they are playing against India. On the other hand, the Indian batsmen are handling Cummins and Lyon with relative ease. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli at the crease. Australia need some quick wickets now.
Some quick wickets is must for Australia at this point to be on the safer side. Based on the performance from Rohit Sharma it looks like he's playing only the confident shots. On the other side Virat have slowly begun his scoring, and by the end of the day atleast we should see score above 300 runs. Todd Murphy is playing good, same as the Indian spinners spin bowling is giving hands to Australia team.
1222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 08, 2023, 11:23:44 PM
We can potentially expect 80,000 in 2023. Everything will depend on both the economic situation and the degree of acceptance of bitcoin and the level of use in interstate settlements. it is no longer necessary to be tied to halving alone, since a huge portion of the coins have already been mined.
I'm not sure of it. The market is in good position, but the economy needs to be rebuilt and it takes time. In recent years the cryptomarket have begun to coexist with the traditional market. This too a reason why we were able to have bullish and bearish movement within respect to the traditional market variation. Though huge portion of coins is mined, the halving increase the demand even high which could trigger the market high than what we experience now and then.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 08, 2023, 11:19:03 PM
Emotional decisions never benefit anyone. I am 99.99% sure that India would refuse to participate in Asia Cup, if it is being held in Pakistan. Therefore the only option left for the PCB is to move the tournament to a neutral venue. They can conduct the tournament without India, but then ACC will lose more than 75% of the expected earnings form this edition. And what they can do about it? Obviously boycotting the ODI World Cup in India is an option. But the cost will be too huge for the PCB and they will be unable to afford it. My advice to them is to stay low until the opportunity arrives. Let BCCI do whatever it want for now.
I agree as it is not good time for PCB, so they have to give up and just go as things are going with most chances they will not get any compensation from ACC as well because if they allow this all then there is no problem to playing in Pakistan here Jay Shah and company have no softer corner for Pakistan and their situation so better for the PCB just go ahead with new venue for the Asia Cup and also talk with ICC about Visas and security of the Pakistan team in India while they will be in this country for the world cup and if they agreed about this all then surely they have to go India for the world cup and give their best which is currently important for their cricket and better future of the game.
Emotions are part, and we need to have the better understanding through these situations. This will let them work on the game and progress than keeping themselves down with the unwanted politics. As said Jay Shah and Company doesn't have any soft corner, which also have valid reason. Right now moving the venue to a neutral place and winning the Asia Cup makes Pakistan stand high. Whatever the politics PCB does, it doesn't gonna benefit them in any means which is the hard truth.
1224  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 11:13:29 PM
Saving is the base for investment. In the past people doesn't had the opportunity to invest. Now everything is in the hand and it makes things easier. The decision needs to be taken by OP, because at times the investment might fail. In that situation mind thinks I should've saved the money than investing. As there is no side hurdles to meet invest is my choice as it looks like the student is able to meet her needs and able to hold it for long term. With investment time is the major constraint, because when you're in need the market might be at the bottom and at such situation you need the money to withstand the situation.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: February 08, 2023, 11:08:22 PM
Teaching children about the finance is good. That too needs to be done at the right age. Some parents used to force their children to learn at the earliest as they weren't able to reap the best out of the market. This doesn't gonna benefit the children as well as the parents. In the long run these children will be with partial learning and they never find a way to progress. Giving them about the base of finance is good. Along with that when time comes we need to inform about the alternate choices available. If he wish, let him learn because most of the parents try to educate about cryptocurrencies just for money making. This is not the right way.
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is ever the right time. on: February 08, 2023, 05:13:19 PM
Nine months passed. OP should've made his own decision. He had missed opportunities, if he had invested when he made plans, surely by now he could've got good profit out of the investment. Every investment have got risk, just because things happened good we're positive on the decision. If we had encountered bearish market, then we'll say OP should've waited. Human minds were like the cryptomarket that keep on fluctuating. Opportunity missed might take even years for the same to happen. So we need to act perfect at the right time.
1227  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think Bottom is gone on: February 06, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
We can't be sure on it. The market being volatile could drive the price in any direction. For now we experience the bullish move with minor fluctuations. The price that had similar market variation around $17k is happening around $23k. This is nothing different from the previous market scenario. Crossing barriers will give the resistance to push higher.
1228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 07:17:04 PM
Simple thing is to learn about the market and further make a decision whether to invest or not. As every form of investment, cryptocurrency is subject to risk and it is our responsibility to know about it and invest than going for it on someone's suggetion. Watching the market movements for few days itself gives a better picture about the market. Further going for an investment seems to be fair, whether it is 60% or 100% is upto the users choice.
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 06, 2023, 05:10:22 PM
Perth Scorchers' reliable batting managed to win the match. Every batsman has tried to score runs and everyone can be said to be successful. Ashton Turner in particularly the captain of the team and he has done his due diligence. He collected 53 runs off 32 balls from his bat. It can be said that he has played the biggest role in the final match. Besides, other team members were also able to run, so the team was able to easily control the big target.

BBL 2022 is finally over and Perth Scorchers are the winners. After IPL, BBL is the biggest and finest league. Brisbane heat should have scored 190 to 200 but they just scored 175 runs and lost 7 wickets. Perth  Scorchers team easily chased the target with 4 balls to spare
Once it was Big Bash League and the popularity is now stolen by the IPL. India have got the biggest market for cricket and the same is being well utilised by the cricket board. Now IPL for women is started this year, which too a good move. Perth Scorchers didn't win the final in an easier way. The team struggled much and if Aston Turner hadn't performed at the right time this could've been a win for Brisbane Heat.
India is one of the few populous countries in the world. The importance and development they have given to cricket is appreciable and definitely Australia lags behind in that regard. At present Australia's Big Bass has also not been successful in business due to which we see that they have decided to reduce the number of matches in the next season. Above all I would say that India has the talent to dominate the cricket world which is not easy for others.
There were more criticism that a country that is on the top in population unable to be on the top list of Olympic medals. This is true Cricket have taken away the importance of other sports in India. Slowly people of India have begun to give importance to each and every game. Upon the same for each and every sports leagues were conducted. Now Indian people continue with cricket giving equal importance to other games as well. For this reason it is really hard to defeat India and take its position.
As the population is high they can get good players for any sport which is not possible in a country with low population. Even if India wins in other sports besides cricket, it does not have much impact, but Indians try to know and know any cricket news. I don't know whether India is in leading position in the world in any sport other than cricket. But I have seen their dominance in cricket since long ago.
Increased population is an advantage to have big number of able players. At the same time this leads to corruption and the player selection at times won't happen out of ability, but on money. Another thing is the lack of infrastructure, and nowadays there is better infrastructure development happening around and things were getting better over time. Other than cricket India have little upper hands on shooting and in the previous Olympics it was javelin throw.

West Indies vs Zimbabwe (Day 3)
Day 3 of First Test match between West indies and Zimbabwe are still ongoing, both opener T.chanderpaul and K.brathwaite build a phenomenal partnership of 336 with both player score his 150+ , now at 336 Zimbabwe bowler got his first dismissal of K.brathwaite who score 182 with a strike rate of 58.33, while chanderpaul are still ongoing, he score 161 with a strike rate of  39.56. I will not be shocked if westindies score 500+ because Zimbabwe bowler are completely failed to put the batsman in trouble.
At the moment 2nd wicket of mayers are down with 374 runs in 125 overs.
Wonderful innings played by West indies openers Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Kraigg Brathwaite because of them they gave a big target to Zimbabwe which is difficult for them to chase .
If the openers have lost their wickets earlier, West Indies could've ended the innings in less than 200 runs. Just the openers have scored 182 and 207* runs. The rest haven't contributed much to the team score. Finally 447/6d is a good score. Zimbabwe have scored 75/1 in 28 overs seems good. Anyhow this match is going to be a draw.

My guess was to declare after collecting more than 560. But West Indies declared the innings after losing 6 wickets for 447 runs. Apart from the two openers, none of the West Indies batsmen can play well. The collection of the two openers was 389 runs. However, the performance of the Zimbabwean players is quite good. The pitch is completely batting friendly. Zimbabwe scored 113 runs for the loss of two wickets. But my guess is that Zimbabwe can score 250 runs at most. And West Indies will win the match.
If West Indies have planned for 560 runs and declare the innings, surely West Indies would've lost every wickets. What they did is good, and Innocent Kaia is the only batsmen trying to keep up scoring for Zimbabwe. Already Zimbabwe have lost 3 wickets and reached 114 runs which isn't enough to stand a chance to draw the match. We can't say this to be batting pitch, because the scoring from West Indies and Zimbabwe is completely on the opposite direction.
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time of owning bitcoin on: February 06, 2023, 12:55:47 PM
The excitement she had got expressed through her smile and it is real. The particular lady researching about bitcoin and making the purchase at the earliest through the support of OP is the best decision she had made. She had bought bitcoin at the right moment and I'm sure by now she could've experienced the profit out of bitcoin price increase. This further increase her interest on buying more and more bitcoin. I would like to know from the OP, other than this lady anyone from the discussion showed interest buying bitcoin.
1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: February 05, 2023, 11:57:11 PM
The major reason behind hold is not to take risk. With people wanting to take risk and increase the holding go for regular buy low and sell high. Everytime we can't be successful with the trade and that is the reason why people prefer holding. In the past holding isn't much preferred and at some point it is believed that patience is much more important than anything to profit out of cryptocurrency investment. This is where people started to prioritise holding than just spending.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 05, 2023, 11:42:07 PM
I have only followed some bet predictions by some forum members here. Those high rollers are probably just gamblers like us but with a bigger bankroll and other resources. They probably have access to some special network too that gives them the best information available but not the kind of info on rigged or fixed matches.
Maybe following such persons through our forum is good than following high rollers blank without proper understanding. I've followed bets suggested in a thread and it was mentioned as fixed match. It looked like some kind of fraud and tried with small amount and I was able to win the game, that too on odds above 2. Rather than tail betting can find something trusted like fixed matches.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 05, 2023, 11:38:38 PM
ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?

Def no, bots or AI use all data available at the moment to predict the result of the game, but as players are only humans (although highly professional ones) they make errors, they can suffer an injury, withdraw, lose temper and many other things which cannot be predicted by a machine, no matter how perfect.

that's very true. what will happen in the field is unpredictable. but if the time comes and developers created an AI that has very good success rate, i don't think bookies will allow this betting to happen deploying AI. they will stop their business before this is exploited. they won't permit paying huge winnings owed to AI.
How come it is possible that an AI based outcome will be precise. Maybe there can be coincidence, but I don't believe that AI gives perfect outcome on sports and casinos. Just think, if AI knows the script on which a particular casino function, then it is ok to say AI does it. When it simply make prediction as the human, how come it'll give the close outcome.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin Dead ? on: February 05, 2023, 11:34:34 PM
This is a problem inherent to all meme coins and shitcoins in general, once there is a huge pump the lucky ones get huge profits and have no need to ever invest in the same coin, but for the rest they have no option but to wait for another pump to come.

But as soon as the price seems to be ready to pump there are several traders willing to capitulate and recover whatever they can, this reduces the chances of a new pump happening and while dogecoin has so far defied all our expectations this cannot last forever as the number of bag holders will be so big that sooner or later the demand will not be enough to produce another pump.

Although Meme coins have no viable use cases, its market cap is on the rise. Actually, a big part of crypto currencies are speculative assets that can't provide technical benefits, so I think that Meme coin will remain in the market as long as it's unregulated and developing market, and the biggest beneficiaries are the whales who pump and dump it.

I recently came across an article stating that the demand for Meme coins still on the rise:
Meme Coin Economy Swells by $5.8 Billion in Less Than a Month, Suggesting Demand for Meme Tokens Still High
Agreed, what is being said is the real working of these memecoins. Though there are no real use case this is much preferred for technical benefits by the whales to profit. There were more discussion on the memecoins existence and getting out of usage at the shortest. Doge is not the kind and it survives and is predicted to be good in the long term. So, for everyone who think dogecoin dead is wrong.
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bearish market the right time to buy coins? on: February 05, 2023, 11:20:45 PM
Base on the steady market increase early this year, some coins increases times two but now it has falling drastically.

That's exactly how money is made in crypto.  Having enough where with all to glfigure out which coins will survive a bear market.  And then load up on them when everyone is selling.  As the saying goes: be fearful when people are greedy, and greedy when people are fearful.  Essentially buy low sell high.
The hard reality people won't easily stick to this scenario. Whenever the price is on its upward move people starts to be on the queue for purchase and just stay away when the market is at its bottom. At the beginning this used to be little difficult, and things could change when people have experienced these kind of scenario for a while. The next time they'll do it right, buying at the bottom and selling high.
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP future looks shaky and uncertain on: February 05, 2023, 11:09:16 PM
XRP has too big supply (100 billion), core team as main whales holders and weak public support from crypto community. I think adding all those factors we can't expect too much from XRP. About support from enthusiasts, I think it stays behind the memecoin SHIB, which also carriers the other disadvantages like huge supply and few whales (probably also from the development team), although it's undeniable SHIB has a strong presence and support on crypto community among average investors, what means marketing works at their favour, even though it's an empty marketing.
Even the huge supply isn't a problem. The team as the Whale holders having complete control over the network makes it be a centralised network. For some reason we can believe on it and invest, because they never lets down the market of XRP. The network being used on different real-time needs make it better even though it is centralized and under controversy for a long.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 03, 2023, 10:22:57 PM
Most of the team sports in Olympics have either 12 or 16 participants. For football, it is 16 (with almost 200 countries participating in the qualifier tournament), while for other sports such as basketball, field hockey and volleyball it is 12. IMO, 12 should be a good number for cricket, for both the men's and women's tournaments. And the IOC has ruled out T10 format, because they want a format which is played regularly. But then, a normal T20 game takes at least 3 to 3.5 hours to get completed.

The main issue with the bid from ICC is that they don't have any qualifying tournament. They want teams to be selected on the basis of ICC ranking, which is biased towards the full members. IOC wants a fair pathway for all the competing nations and they will definitely shoot down this obscene proposal from the ICC. And perhaps this is exactly what the ICC want.

Its still not finalized by IOC that whether or not cricket is included in 2028 LA Olympics (final decision expected in Oct this year). You are talking about 12 teams but ICC has proposed six-team T20 events for both men and women for 2028 LA Olympics. Its a great move by ICC to take cricket to biggest sporting event after giving a delay of many decades.
Cricket biggest problem is very limited number of test teams and new countries are not joining in. Reason is not clear that why new teams are not coming in this sports.
ICC proposing 6 teams is a way to keep the Olympic matches not that interesting. More the teams more will be the interest in watching it. ICC might've felt of losing importance of different tournaments and leagues. Cricket is played on different countries, but they doesn't make themselves into the next levels. In recent years it is Netherlands, Ireland that have made good progress. Not much teams into test format cricket, because huge funding is required.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 03, 2023, 10:13:21 PM
Pakistan participation is yet not confirmed in ODI WC as India is not coming to Pakistan for Asia Cup.
As I am seeing that the Pakistan team in top five on the ranking of ICC men's odi ranking. And since the top seven teams in the rankings are considered as Super Leagues and qualified for the ICC World Cup, so Pakistan is already qualified for playing  ICC World Cup 2023.
Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already confirmed that no decision has been taken regarding Pakistan not going to the ODI World Cup 2023 which is going to be held in India. source
Ramiz Raja have mentioned about Pakistan's decision to play on the World Cup. He had mentioned about the scenario, amidst the economic situation, heavy investment were already into renovation of grounds considering the Asia Cup and now moving it to neutral location is not a good decision. Since 2013 India and Pakistan haven't played any bilateral series. Both the teams meet only during the ICC events.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 09:56:57 PM
This is very surprising to be to get to know that there are casinos that are known as charitable that are going out there help people to send funds to ameliorate poverty. I think this kind of casinos are mostly owned by government and they are the one that control most of the activities whereby there are some companies that do contribute fund to support these kind of casinos.
Some of these kind of casinos, I am not sure if they will also accept KYC which is something that is going to make some player not to use that kind of casino.
Even casinos connected with charities is really good. Other casinos too support people at critical times, recently Stake send a big amount for the people affected by the war between Russia and Ukraine. This is happening now and then, but regularly paying 4-40% of the revenue for the charities needs to be applauded.
