Damn! I knew the Warriors weren't going to be a match for the Brooklyn Nets, but I expected them to at least put some fight not getting blown out from the very first quarter, I had a very nice  7+ Odds betbuilder parlay progressing so well but it eventually got ruined by Ben Simmons not putting up to 5 rebounds, but I don't think I can blame him if he only played for 18 minutes, and coming just one short.

I didn't want to ruin my beautiful eye sight from the World Cup final, so I skipped all the league cup matches until the Liverpool - Manchester City match. At the very least, I deserve a good welcome back with a Halaand hattrick and Darwin open sitter miss and a good laugh. The Messi/Ronaldo fanboy banter on Twitter is becoming tedious and childish; I hope the season resumption shifts those banters to new ones among club football fans.

Yup! I believe that debate or banter is pretty much dead now, at least for the time being since Ronaldo is currently out of a club and Messi will just be Messi, so It's all going to be just about EPL, FPL and UCL... while following La Liga and Serie A too, there is barely any much controversy or debate worthy topics, other than the stale Brokelona trend whenever we draw or lose a game, and Juventus decline.

I believe I'll be heavily involved and following the FPL, and the post Ronaldo Man United era, they looked quite good tonight but that's against Burnley, with Rashford and Garnacho playing quite brightly, however I'm not so sure Garnacho will be able to live up the pressure.

Anyway, it appears that those who made the top10 have been paid out, and i can confirm that i received my winnings....also, from what i could pick from the clubtalk chat, there were 1 or 2 players disqualified within the top10 (probably multi-accounting), so perhaps someone just outside the prize spots from the forum got in last minute? Check your accounts!
Damn you work fast. I just finished sorting trough all that and wanted to come here and tell you to go check your balance Smiley Funny thing there was even one attempt to impersonate you. Sou you can count yourself famous now Smiley
Mind sharing your nick in chat or you just lurk? Did you ever attend one of my Fantasy chat sessions there?

@Harkorede since there were two cheaters in top 10 that means I got kicked up all the way to 7th position and you got the last paying spot. Check your balance

Yaay! I got the winnings as well, I literally wouldn't have even noticed for a while because as I'm in BTC mode for now, It feels good now to say I finished within the top 10  Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks guys! and Congratulations once again!!

Yeah, me too man. Nothing better to remove the disappointment of World Cup than to take it all out on opponents in the league. I know it's a crappy EFL cup game, but it'd be great to knock City out on a competition they used to win every season (was it 4 or 5 seasons in a row again?). Saw some training and friendly videos of Salah, Firmino, that's great but much nicer to see Thiago and Matip fit again (and Milner once more clocking record distances wtf).
Manchester City has won five of the last seven EFL Cup. This is getting boring, Liverpool won the last one, and at this point, I want both teams to lose. Every new Manchester City player must now have at least one EFL Cup. These guys are running that league for fun, and I wouldn't be surprised if they overtake Liverpool as the most successful holders in no time.

While other teams are having fun, I have to endure Chelsea Haram for the rest of the season, from Messi strolling through Joško Gvardiol like a piece of cake and Mbappe scoring epic goals to Kai Havertz and Mount missing sitters against some old school boys from Bournemouth high school.... wait, I have to watch Darwin as well..  Grin Undecided

Isn't it going to be in the league's and champions league best interest for Man City and Liverpool not to lose this early into their domestic cups ? Unfortunately, one of them have to go tomorrow night, right. However, If I were an Arsenal, Chelsea or Man United, I'll definitely wish for both Liverpool and Man City to have their fixture schedule clogged ahead of the second rounds of the league and champions league knockout stages, because the last thing you lots need to worry about is a Guardiola or Klopp team that has nothing on their plate to play for but the Premier League, the competition might even be over before the end of February or at the worse very early in to the month of March.

I'm still taking my deserved rest from the euphoric world cup final drama, so I've had little time to notice the EFL cup is already on, but I did watch some decent minutes of Newcastle's fixture last night, and I must say they still look very much like the real they were before the world cup break.

I was left dumbfounded by the Memphis Grizzlies loss and display against the Denver Nuggets, and I literally knew they've lost the game right from the first quarter after there horrendous shooting percentage, and whole body language to the game, Ja Morant putting of 35 points and a double digits wasn't meant to have any effect on the result of the game at the end of the day.

New York Knicks was more of an anticipated win for me, and I made decent profit off the Knicks doing more than well enough to cover the spread, GSW win some nights back seemed more like a fluke to me, with Jordan Poole throwing up phenomenal numbers, and he did something similar, but with Klay Thompson being off his game, there nothing else that could have happened.

and what about Salah, will the over a month long break have gotten him on completely reenergized ?

I will probably keep him in the squad, he should be eager to show off, after not being on WC, Haaland as well, but he is probably perma member in each squad

looking at others, some will hit the road, but have to find some good ones to replace them, and not have been in every squad Smiley
have to reconsider perma Everton player spot in my team, although Tarkowski picked solid number of points so far

I'll probably be having him too, but he's not a perma member for me to be honest, I might shuffle a lot between himself a lot and Kevin De Bruyne, or just another 7.5-8m Midfielder and then upgrade with another ~8m+ Forward.

No Everton player would be on my squad for the time being, I'd stick with my Newcastle players, Crystal Palace and or some Brighton players. If Only there was a very cheap way to have 3 Man City players, without the assurance that they'd not get rotated pretty easily.

For me, if Westbrick keeps on targeting triple-doubles it will not be enough, for me, I think do not target a triple-double but a huge output on scoring, like he recently have against the Nuggets it was an impressive triple-double but he needs to do more, and right now Anthony Davis has a foot injury that may cause some losing game for the Lakers but if Russell Westbrick would keep up his triple-double target it will not be enough I think he needs to do more on the scoring because Anthony Davis may return on December 19,

I think scoring isn't Westbrook's strong suit. Nevertheless, his ability to grab a lot of rebounds and make a lot of assists can be very useful for the Lakers, but only in those moments when Russ makes the minimum number of turnovers per game. As for Davis' absence, Thomas Bryant might partially replace him if he continues to perform as well as he did in the previous game against the Nuggets.

I barely see Westbrook create more than 20 points lately since he is now in the second unit. His best contributions are from his assists and rebounds. This is good since he keeps feeding Lebron and AD or anyone who is hot in the Lakers to keep them hot.

Even if Westbrook is not a scoring machine anymore and barely create 20+ points, he's still one of the huge reasons why the Lakers got an improvement lately. Yes, it did start when he fully embraced his role as the 6th man and trusted coach Ham's decision that he's more valuable coming from the 2nd unit. Also, coach Ham started utilizing the former Wizards, Thomas Bryant as their center while Davis is having some issues and the results were better because they aren't that much having a hard time when Davis is not around.

It's pretty much time for the Lakers to actually move on from Anthony Davis, despite being a heavy and consistent score for them when on the court this season, it's just obvious he can't stay fit, and he was also out for majority of their games when he would have been much needed last season, and this season too he's already missed a handful of games, I really don't know much they count on him for the reminder of the regular season, let alone the post season where the games are more intense and highly demanding, the fact that Lakers doesn't seemed to have an immediate future is something else of a worthy consideration.

No break from Fantasy Sports, not even a day.  Cheesy

congrats once more on winning entire Sportsbet fantasy

yeah, team recomposition is on, and now we get to FPL, didn't watch many frendlies, but saw Cherki miss from penalty spot, he tried Panenka style, and got into meme section on Twitter

will be interesting to see will Arsenal get to meme section as well, missing to convert their advantage in the league so far

I just took a look at my squad and I don't even know where to begin from, I really don't know where to begin from, but I think I'll be keep vast majority of my team and get me some low budget midfielders and defenders, I plan on keeping my forward semi-premium, I would have loved to have Alvarez as perma player, but then Guardiola will always be Guardiola, and what about Salah, will the over a month long break have gotten him on completely reenergized ?

Has anyone else from the forum made the top 10 except for me and Trofo? I see that Harkorede was very close 12th...with Gvardion and his 8 pts on the bench.  Shocked

The only reason why I feel bad is literally because I didn't understand how the transfers and substitution works way sooner, I had all my chip planned out for specific stages perfectly, and almost all worked out pretty well for me except the 12th Man on Ronaldo, I also had one nap to early and didn't bring on Gvardiol to my starting lineup right on time.

But it was still all a very decent experience, and congratulations mate!

Well deserved, perhaps you should take up managing a football team as a professional, that's if you've not already thought about it!

Thriller in Manilla!

That was breathtaking and even old folks here who have witnessed nothing less than 15-18 world cups agrees that this is most dramatic and thrilling final, what a brilliant show, I would have loved to say it signals the end of an era, and gave birth to new one, but then Mbappe at age 23 is already living the life long dream that even legends of the sports couldn't afford to, but should this be the last dance for Messi with Argentina, I'd say, Yes! He's finally done it all, he should step down and let the next generation take charge, what a career he's had, and to end it with the most coveted prize that eluded him once before, and more so doing it so deservingly is just pure class.

Upon seeing Argentina making numerous attempts easy attempt on goal and giving Lloris so many saves opportunities, I could only just hope Argentina would secure the clean sheet because to win the first position, because as at the 75th minute of the game, France still doesn't have an attempt on goal, so I already knew what the chances were for me, It was either a clean sheet or burst for me.

This is however the best competition I've participated in here, it was thrilling from MD1 to MD2 and there was never an easy choice to those questions, Big congratulations to CasperBGD and every other winners as well, it was such a pleasure competing with you guys.

@Trofo and Cryptofrka, big ups to you guys for the wonderful experience and thanks to the entire Sportsbet.io team!

See you guys around, I've got an FPL team to manage ! Cheesy, too bad I really didn't get to understand how exactly the FIFA fantasy works especially with substitutions and transfers until around MD3-MD4, trying different things just to understand how it literally works, I however managed to finish 12th position, so I think I still did pretty well given my circumstances, but I love the fact the it's one of the forum regulars here that won the 1st position, Congratulations @morvillz7z!

Tomorrow is Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors and Stephen Curry still cannot play, according to the news I read online it would take some weeks before he can play again due to his shoulder injury but according to source it might take longer, do you think that the GSW would be able to survive even without Stephen Curry?

I wouldn't be having any bet on the Warriors to win any game, at least for the time being until they seem to have found their rhythm, they started the last game pretty well and I felt they could win the game, but the inexperience from their role players was evidently enough, they lost their momentum and couldn't keep their lead, If Wiggins and Draymond Green should return then maybe there will be some form of leadership influence on the court, but has for now, Jordan Poole is getting more responsibility than I think he can shoulder just yet without some distinctive leaders available on the court with him.

That said, If I were to have any penny on the line for this game, It will surely be on the Raptors to win and cover their spread.

Small countries different focus I guess. I know some other small countries focus on science competitions, others on farming, others on sports but again different sports. Football is a culture in Croatia I guess? I don't even know the history of that.

I hope Croatia knocks out some big teams from rankings (which is shit anyway as Belgium proved!!!) sometimes its nice to see #1 rank that never won the right to wear a star on their jersey.

But anyway, enough congratulations and sympathy for winners and losers, time to prepare our weapons for French and Argentinian losers later lol.

Football is actually a global sport, it's just the level of exposure that differs, and regardless of the population of a country, almost every country has a national league of it's own and often multiple division, If Iceland as a country of less than 400,000 people could have a multiple division league and even the same goes for their females as well.

It's has became customary to always have dark horse(s) in these type of competition, we've seen a couple in Euro, and some previous World Cup tournament, especially what brought Iceland, and Hungary to limelight a couple of years ago, as well as an Algerian team that were playing a beautiful style of football some years back, possession and attacking game, like an European team, having the likes or Riyad Mahrez, Slimani, Feghouli and Ghezzal. This current Moroccan squad typical reminds me of Algerian team of that year.

I guess Kawhi and PG13 are playing now as they are heavy favorites. Clippers -6.5

I'll take this one, I believe with PG13 and Kawhi Leonard, they will be there to dominate the opposing team. They even beat the Celtics which is better than the Wiz, so this one should be easy.

Paul George is sitting this one out, and It's a few minutes left to play for in the first quarter, Kawhi Leonard doesn't seem to have found his rhythm yet, it's still a slight advantage for the Washington Wizards, but it's still a pretty open game. Hopefully Kawhi Leonard doesn't struggle too much here, because If he does then, the Wizards could easily win this.

Damn! I literally missed the specials bet for today, and stayed up all night, and I needed to take a quick nap which went for too long  Wink

I literally think I might have missed first 3 question, I had Ivan Perisic to play for 85+ minutes and have short on goal or assist, and the reason for my choice was literally down to Perisic already been totally overused and I felt Dalic might given an early rest today, but If the question were assist or goal, without the 85 minutes clause, I definitely would have gone for Yes, I really don't remember all the questions that involves the third place match, so I'd would have known what my answers were.

Bunch of games and a mixed bag of home and road teams I like:

Boston -12.5 at home against Orlando.  Thos should be a blowout
Knicks/bulls under. 225.5. They just played each other think this one is a 107-99 type game.
And Denver-1.5 on the road against the Lakers.  Nobody can stop jokic, this should actually not even be a close game.

Good luck everyone

Boston Celtics are the team to beat the season, they're somewhat very consistent so, I agree it should be an easy for them vs Orlando Magic. However, I'm going to pass on the pick because the spread seems to large imo, and Orlando Magic should could stay within sight even with Celtics winning the game.

I'll tail your other 2 picks, I like the idea of Chicago Bulls vs New York Knicks under 223.5 and I'll have the Denver Nuggets solely on ML @ 1.80, I hope we don't a highly explosive Anthony Davis that we've witnessed in last couple of game where he drops 55-17 and 44-10 points and rebound likes it's a routine stuff, with such performance from AD, I fear for the Nuggets chances, but I'm still taking them regardless.
2240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 16, 2022, 09:39:32 PM
Poole and Wiggins and Klay all three will have their hands full, I am not sure if all three are uninjured and available to play to be fair, maybe one of them is injured too. But if they are all healthy, the offense will run through these three and they will have to carry the scoring load.

This is a 30+ point guy we are talking about they are missing, so they will combined need to make 30+ more points together, will take more shots of course, but considering how efficient Curry has been, it is going to be hard to do it at the same amount of shooting as well. Plus, the spacing will not be the same, curry gets defences even before half court, whereas these players won't and that's a difference too.

Warriors to begin with have been underperforming this regular, and now having to go several weeks without Stephen Curry will surely put their whole season in a bit of jeopardy, and also given the fact that they're barely clinging to that 10th position, the last in the play-in tournament.

Warriors would in my opinion have been in better shape or situation if they had kept a couple their role players from last season, I'm sure a healthy  Juan Toscano-Anderson, Nemanja Bjelica and Damion Lee will all come in very handy right and will help reduce the amount of work loads on their starters.
