Blocks are really slow these days I don't know why, I always add a proper fee but the confirmations are taking way too long.
I think It's because lots of cloud mining websites have halted their operations.

Maybe, I don't know.. but I wish there was a way to get confirmations lightening fast, like add extra extra fee or something but I know that's not how it works.

They are having some issues with their email providor.

Bitstamp and other exchanges had the same problems or lets say had the same "excuse"

Bittrex could tell the truth but it could also be a indicator that they don't have that much btc in their hot wallet.
Transferring BTC from the cold to hot wallet takes time i think they are just a bit more careful then other exchanges.

It COULD be, but it's not. They are simply having problems with email. I use Google authenticator 2FA instead of email confirmations, and my withdrawals come through quickly.

Yes but one cannot even enable 2fa without receiving the confirmation email for that too, I faced this problem quite back and it made me suspicious and from they day I only use that site as a last resort For ex. I want to sell a coin which is only listed there.

2224  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me invest 50btc? on: February 23, 2015, 01:07:49 PM
I don't know what to tell you in regards to where you should invest your money. But I will tell you this, Don't give out no-collateral loans, BTCjam or otherwise, Don't invest in cloud-mining no matter how legit they appear, Don't day trade.

I would advice you to just keep them safe in a cold storage but if invest you must, then think out of the box, design a new btc website maybe, a new game. GL

2225  Economy / Gambling / Re: [POLL] So.. How's your Gambling journey so far? on: February 23, 2015, 08:35:27 AM
Used to be up in profit until I had too much btc in my wallet and I bet too much on satoshidice, and lost 0.7, since then it taught me a lesson and I NEVER hold any amount more than 0.1 wallet. I keep it all in my exchange where withdraws take a while so it keeps me from gambling since my money is bit farther from reach. Xapo.com is even better since there is at least 24 hour delay in withdraw from your vault and it is very secure there as well.

Keeping your funds in an exchange is also not a good idea dude. You never know when they're gonna say they got hacked and run away with your money.

2233  Other / Off-topic / Re: What should I write about bitcoin in a post at my blog? on: February 22, 2015, 12:55:15 PM
Write about how Bitcoin should be called BTC and not XBT and maybe something should be done to change it's ISO Code.
2234  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Western Union - How does it work ? on: February 22, 2015, 12:36:02 PM

ok so the Western Union have some kind of Database on his PC or whatever . and now from where the Western Union agent make the money come out from ? Do he have an ATM or something ? .

~ Madness

Yes they have their agent account and they log in to their database to know this. Agent pays the money, they have to keep the cash available and agent receives the cash and their commission from Western-Union in their account within 3 business days.
2235  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Western Union - How does it work ? on: February 22, 2015, 12:28:26 PM
It's basically works like this.

You go to a Western-Union outlet and tell them you want to send money to someone, let's say overseas. They give you a form, you fill it up, add your ID and pay the amount you want to send + the fees. And in return they give you a MTCN code. (Money Transfer Control Number )

Then you call the person and give him/her the MTCN code. He/she walks to their local Western-Union outlet, presents the code and their ID and they give them the cash.

Yeah but that's the problem , how they will give that person the cash that I sent , I'am pretty sure they are not going to send Physical cash via mail (in Western Union , right ? ) , so Is it Digital ? does the agent have an ATM on his office ? and also how he know how much someone sent the money ? this is what I can't seem to understand .

~ Madness

No the person has to go to their office to collect cash. When they enter the MTCN number in their computer, they find out how much money is sent.

The agent will check where how much Google sent me ? do have some kind of Database or something ? also from where he will Withraw the money ? I mean they should have certain amount on their offices , or do they have ATM's or something ? Shocked

~ Madness

Yes, the agent will check how much money was transferred to you and give you cash or check if that is what you prefer. They don't have ATMs.

This is just outrageous. Soon we will discover some other company had installed some hardware that key-logs to steal passwords and such.

Mine hasn't been so great. I try every week to win back my previous losses and end up digging a bigger hole for myself.

So how's it been for you? Have you made any profit?
