1381  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: CoPay wallet in windows app store, STILL not working on Windows Phone? :( on: June 05, 2015, 11:47:01 AM
I am using copay on my windows wallet and it works flawlessly but the only worry I have is I don't know any way of importing the backup to any other wallet, which is why I am afraid of sending any big amount of coins to it because if for some reason it doesn't work tomorrow I have no way of getting hold of my funds.

Agree, we know that the backup process needs to be improved. But, regarding to import to another wallet different of Copay if for same reason bitcore-wallet-service stop working, let me say that you (or your company) could create their own service to use with Copay. So, with your backup and an alternative bitcore-wallet-service, you will never lost your funds if something going wrong.

Copay uses Bitcore Wallet Service that it is also open-source https://github.com/bitpay/bitcore-wallet-service. After create the service, change the BWS url from preferences and "recreate" the wallet with all your funds. That's simple.

It is also missing some features as importing a paper wallet, sending to multiple addresses etc.

We have these features in our plans.

Thanks!

Thank you for responding to my concerns, the problem is the average bitcoin user such as myself don't know how to create another bitcoin wallet service using what you recommended above, I really like CoPay so far and has been using it constantly and have no complaints with how the wallet works.

I just hope that soon it has a paper wallet import feature and an easy way to import backup in another wallet without having much technical knowledge should a user feel the need to do that.

1383  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin Wallet on: June 04, 2015, 07:02:25 PM
The Main wallet I use is electrum, I have always used this as far as I can remember after learning about bitcoin wallets, it's just so simple that even a newbie can use it without having much knowledge of how bitcoin wallets work. And never bothered to learn about any other wallet till now but I did learn of CoPay wallet recently and it's still far from being even a secondary wallet.
1384  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign 2.O - Pay Per Post & Fixed Campaign Thread on: June 04, 2015, 06:53:25 PM
I think you're allowed to have your referral link in the signature, that's how it was in the previous thread and I don't think the rules have been changed. See my sig, I have my referral link there, but still, let's wait for ndnhc's reply on this to confirm.

Yeah okay you got me. I'm sorry okay Tongue

Lol, it's kool, will try your site with some coins once it gets verified. GL Smiley
1386  Economy / Gambling / Re: MiniDice - Simple Dice for Quick Rolls - Fair - Open Source Script on: June 04, 2015, 11:23:58 AM
What will be your strategy to beat the other dice site in moneypot ? All I know is that you wont get any profit as a developer if there is no one wager at your site. Dustdice is taking quite alot of the high roller and betterbets is one of the new favorite dice to play with

Well MiniDice is extremely simple, and very progressive as a Dice site.
Other sites lose that concept of simplicity and privacy as a gambler.

As dan updates the script, and as I maybe get a budget, I'll upgrade the host and hire someone
to add more features.

BetterBets is a bigger site compared to MiniDice. Imagine it as a big brother or something
The very fact that it measures its bets in Bitcoin and not in Bits sets it apart from MiniDice.

So yeah, thanks.
Ultimately this is a simple project I wanted to try,
so depending on how it fares I'll fix some issues up Smiley

About me being Small.
I sold my account, and I didn't really do anything wrong with Gebbit.
I did the work that was required of me anyway.
I stopped with cryptocurrency for a while and now I'm back. You might
have noticed from the similar writing style.

I actually did noticed it and I had my suspicions, thanks for clearing them up. But it's funny you were aware of bitcoins and crypto currency prior to making this account but when you made this account you pretended as if you were a newbie lol

Hi guys, saw about Bitcoin in a little talk made by some people from a company here!
From the Philippines! Hi to kababayans already here. Any help and tips to get easy here would be good!

I've read up a lot recently and I got a bit from the bitcoin.org website
it's informative in my opinion! good job to the developers Smiley

Are there places that hire manpower? Like writing or something? I've seen writers for hire
but they don't seem to get hired much Sad

I'm a good writer, that's probably my biggest bet since I'm no good at programming Sad
1387  Economy / Gambling / Re: MiniDice - Simple Dice for Quick Rolls - Fair - Open Source Script on: June 04, 2015, 11:15:12 AM
Just tried to visit the site and I found it anything but quick, maybe that's because you're using a free domain. And I saw something in chat

So you're small -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=399152

Why aren't you posting from your original account? I guess maybe after the whole Gebbit episode you don't want this site to be associated with your previous doings.
1388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BEWARE: IGOT.COM running a scam? on: June 04, 2015, 10:29:47 AM
I have seen some previous users also reporting this issue couple of times in the past but it was later resolved, I can't say if they are a scam but they do take too much time for withdrawals, either it's bitcoin or bank transfer which is completely not acceptable but after seeing their dealings I wouldn't recommend anyone using their exchange.

Keep calm and be in touch with their support, see if they have a phone number and try calling them and I truly hope you can get your coins back.

Here are two users that seem to represent igot on bitcointalk, try to see if you can resolve your problems through them, just be careful and don't give away any sensitive information regarding your account.

1389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransom Paid In Bitcoin on: June 04, 2015, 10:18:50 AM
I bet some Anti-Bitcoin people are behind these sort of attacks and they're doing this to make Bitcoin look bad and give it bad publicity so that governments around the world ban using it and/or impose more restrictions on it.

I know that bitcoins are not to be blamed here but if the agencies keep facing these issues, like it has happened before and they have to pay ransoms to protect people/companies I fear they will resort to putting harder laws on trading/using bitcoins.
1390  Economy / Digital goods / Re: looking to buy amazon gift cards for btc on: June 04, 2015, 09:51:30 AM
I dont know about 50% value, but I seen most people selling their legit cards on purse.io.

Or just go to gyft.com

I've seen quite a few threads selling for 50-60% of the value so I'm gonna see if I can find some in that range. Not in a hurry so I'm not just gonna take every offer

If anybody is selling an AGC for 50% discount you can be sure that it was acquired by illegal means, most probably from a stolen credit card and your Amazon account can get into trouble for using that. The legit sellers who either earned it by doing work or purchased it from their cash will sell it at 10-20% discount at most.

GL finding a legit buyer who is willing to sell it for that much discount. Do ask for proof on how they acquired the gift card, no matter who you buy it from.
1391  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy Problems Bitcoins frozen on: June 04, 2015, 09:35:57 AM
If Cryptsy want people to enable 2FA than they should make it compulsory right from the beginning and not if you make a transaction which they dont like. It is plain mopping nothing else. This was the last time I used Cryptsy.

I agree to this that whatever are the requirements of using their services they should inform about it at the time of the registration and not after a user has deposited the funds in to their site, I think it's bad practices.

My advice to you is since your bitcoins are stuck on their site, you have to do whatever they ask you to do, so just suck it up and play along, provide anything they want and get your coins out asap, that should be your number 1 concern. After that you can find another service which is much more transparent from the beginning and doesn't hold user's funds for no reason.
1392  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-03] CD: BitPay's Multisig Wallet 'Copay' Leaves Beta on: June 04, 2015, 08:54:25 AM
I have been using it from 4-5 days and so far I haven't had any problems with it but as some people have suggested it, it's not yet safe to keep large amount of bitcoins on it. Not because they might get stolen but because it might happen that user itself isn't able to access their funds.

I had a discussion about it on reddit and things I learnt were that first of all there aren't any other wallets (currently) that supports BIP32/39/44. Which means a user won't be able to export the backup from CoPay and import into any other wallet. This is my only concern which is stopping from sending large amount of funds to it for if some reason the app is down I won't be able to access my funds otherwise.

Apart from that there is no way to import a paper wallet and it is another concern as some users prefer keeping their funds in cold storage and they can't use them with CoPay. Until there is a way to extract the keys out of CoPay back up and import it into another wallet and the import paper wallet feature I don't think it will get much famous. I really hope developers read this and make some changes in the next update.

Another thing which concerns me is that since you cannot sign a message from inside CoPay and you cannot import keys to another wallet you cannot prove that you own an address should a need arise to do that.
1393  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Rated # 1 by Bitcointalk Members ! on: June 03, 2015, 06:24:31 PM
Man I am on a big losing streak, have most probably lost around 0.6-0.7 in last 10-12 sports bets. :/ This one http://www.directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=1HtBFTe2VCPpRQkL2e4F6hBh26KNMgpa71 I was counting on to cover all of them together but the rain yesterday and day before that ruined everything. smh
1394  Economy / Economics / Re: What to buy.. what to buy.. on: June 03, 2015, 02:54:16 PM
Gold & Bitcoin would be my no.1 choice if I was buying, also Land, where I am the cost of land gets almost doubled in an year or 2. But it really depends on what budget you have.
1395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [NSFW] What do you guys think about this.. on: June 03, 2015, 01:51:32 PM
It's really funny and yes that girl got indeed what she deserves . it was a really nice move from that cop Shocked lol
not sure where this came from , probably USA or something , maybe that logo "12" or whatever helps you out

It's funny? is it??

I bet you wouldn't think the same if the girl in the video was your gf or your wife or sister or mother.

Anyways, I am not taking sides, she obviously shouldn't have kicked him in the first place but still it wasn't like he was really hurt from that kick, in fact she must have hurt herself from that kick because cops generally have strong legs. And she was obviously drunk. I think kicking her in the neck was uncalled for and it's sad really.
1396  Economy / Digital goods / Re: (21F) sell my nude and private hot pictures and videos for BTC on: June 03, 2015, 01:29:54 PM
Can you provide some proof that you're really a chick and not some fat ugly dude?

Like, I don't know maybe Hand-write bitcointalk on a piece of paper with today's date and your username?
1397  Other / Politics & Society / [NSFW] What do you guys think about this.. on: June 03, 2015, 01:21:52 PM

I just saw this somewhere else and some people were saying that the Cop is not to be blamed here  Shocked And that she deserved it.

I personally feel even though she did kick him first, as an officer of the law he should have just charged her with hitting a police officer but he decides to kick her in the head and seeing that just makes me wanna bash his head with a bat until I crack his skull open.  Angry

So.. what do you guys think? And any idea where did this actually happen, any news on this, was he fired or not?
1398  Economy / Services / Re: Write a Review for Company On Google & Get Paid 0.01 BTC - Paid Immediately on: June 03, 2015, 09:23:48 AM
I received a payment after writing a google+ review,

My Payment: https://blockchain.info/tx/3e8d1a8558af5d33c827a15921a692a008a7ea51fe98d0ae8ab50894f8638440

Thanks.

A newbie vouch for a newbie is not worth anything.

@OP: I can do this but I would prefer if you escrow the funds. Or you can pay half first and half after the deal and you can cut the 0.0001 Tx fee from my payment if you're worried about that. Let me know.

Here's an escrow list, you can pick anyone you like. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0
