Wouldn't it be better if you're really going to do this to have atleast 4-5 referral links in your signature of different sites, it might give you more chance of earning from referrals than having a solo advertisement. Lately I see www.100bit.co.in is being advertised as LocalBitcoins alternative on this forum. Has anyone actually tried this ? This is the first time I have heard of this service and they'd have to travel a long way to be called a LBC alternative and I don't think it's going to be that easy, LBC is running from a long time and is trusted by many traders worldwide. |

I did generate a few addresses using this service. However, I never used those addressees as I know they have my private key. I just use those service for fun. If I really want a vanity address, I will not ask a trusted user to generate for me. I will generate it myself. Also remember to use the original version of vanitygen - or maybe some popular one.
You can ask someone to generate it for you if you don't have the computing power to do it but ONLY do it with split key vanity generation that way you can get be sure that only you would know it's private key and the not the vanity address generator. I had couple of addresses made by someone through that but I lost em in a HD crash. |

Absolutely not, I voted for the 5th option, it's just a decentralized currency giving people a simple secure way of keeping their own money without having to rely on banking system who charge people to do just that. I just sent some money to someone sitting 1000s of miles away without the help of anybody and it only cost me less than 5 cents.

I think Bitcoin has a lot of potential to become fully adapted as a digital/online currency, for offline the cash system is too easy to use and a common man don't want to go through the hassles of understanding a new system for his day to day expense. Therefore, I think Bitcoin will be more widely used for shopping/sending payments worldwide and will be more widely used as an online currency.

I think these would most probably be accounts which are carded because 10 tokens at their site cost $1 so that's 0.10/token and you're selling them for 0.025/token, which means you didn't buy them.

Might be a good one. But its slow downs my PC and also irritating by openning a lot of popups and always shows to update and its takes more and more time (may be because of my slower internet). So i migrated to AVG.
To be fair, Microsoft Security Essentials, or Windows Defender on Win8 is also quite respectable and free. Do they provide real time protection as well, I am kind of confused with which Antivirus to use, normally I am careful with what sites I visit but you never know what might pop up and I don't think/know any free antiviruses that provide real time protection and other added protections. |

I think I'll do the checking the integrity part on my windows machine, the version of gpg I use on linux, let's just say it's a bit complicated (don't ask me how  ). You're right, I think earlier I did saw a MD5 or SHA1 checksum for electrum downloads, I don't see them any more. But still I think there should be an easier way, telling someone that they need to install gpg before downloading electrum to verify it's integrity will get their eyes to roll. |

If you are looking for your private keys in the blockchain.info wallet.Log into your blockchain.info account. Near the top, click import/export. Click that you understand. On the left hand side, click on Export Unencrypted. Under the drop down box: Select private key format, select Bitcoin-Qt Format. Within the file, are all your addresses and their corresponding private keys. Hope this helps. Yes, the private key can be used to import funds on another client. . I don't think you can extract the private keys of the wallet unless you can access to it through the website which is why I avoid any online wallets. He said ' if' he were to lose the identifier, "how would he get access" to his funds. He said nothing about losing the passphrase, where did you read that? And OP reply above me by Agentofcoin explains it pretty well how to take back up of your keys from blockchain info, my advice to you would be don't store too many coins on a web wallet. GL |

Hm.. it might be that I was using different key to verify the different signature, will try again and see how it goes. I think there should be an easy of verifying the integrity of the downloads, I mean a newbie downloading electrum wouldn't know how to use pgp if he is not too technically advanced. |
