1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are key scramblers effective in beating keyloggers to protect our btc wallets? on: June 25, 2015, 07:44:46 PM
Are all key loggers picked up by Antiviruses or are there any that might trick AV into believing they're harmless?

This I want to know too. I would think keyloggers are easy to detect for antivirus and malware scanners. My antivirus does a complete scan of my hard drive once a week and I keep my windows updated, should that be enough for a someone who doesn't visit doggy sites?

A rootkit virus is capable of hiding itself from most regular anti-virus software, and it can have associated keyloggers and other malicious tools. Often the only way to detect a rootkit is to scan a computer by booting from a live anti-virus scanning CD, which runs without starting the computer's normal operating system.

A number of anti-virus software companies have live CDs available, or software to make bootable thumb drives.

I'll look for those CDs which have bootscan. Thx

i'm using malwarebyte, too, and while i found it to be a beast, i still added malware anti-exploit and zemana antilogger, also hitmanpro for some searching from time to time

but your best bet it is to not download anything that has not any digital sign, if you follow this, it is impossible to be hacked

I'll download those too for added security, I usually scan all the files I download before opening them up (even though real time protection is enabled) because not all files available on net can be digitally signed. Thx for the info on extra security products.
1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding how bitcoin works is IRRELEVANT on: June 25, 2015, 07:32:52 PM
But one still needs to know some technical parts of it, for instance there was a news on blockchain fork and people had no idea what it is (still don't) and discussions were going on reddit/forums on effects of it and what to do/not and there were confusions about it and to clear those one needs to understand and read on about the importance of it.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are key scramblers effective in beating keyloggers to protect our btc wallets? on: June 25, 2015, 06:55:46 PM
Also remember to physically close your built-in webcam, if you are using a notebook. I have heard about people who were recording keystrokes via the webcam access and mirrors in the room.

Keep your Anti-virus / Firewalls etc. updated and they would catch most of these nasty malicious thingies.

I use a combination of different products and I have been relatively lucky sofar. This is why 2FA and Multi Sig are so important. Make it as difficult as possible.  Huh

Are all key loggers picked up by Antiviruses or are there any that might trick AV into believing they're harmless.

Also, do you mind telling which products you have been using for security? I try to keep my coins on an offline computer as much as possible but I need to keep a few on the live one as sometimes I am not able to access the offline machine.
A huge part of my bitcoins (600+) are stored in the deep cold storage & all payments from it will be signed offline. But, a small portion of coins (about 100+) are online. And I'm using currently "Bitdefender Total Security 2015" & also I encrypted all my private files on my laptop.

But, I always feel insecurity ..............

I use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and it usually is pretty thorough in detecting unwanted things but I still feel a bit insecure and I do have encrypted keys and other important files and they're all backed up but I have seen people reporting on this forum besides having all the security in the world, they got hacked and lost their coins and usually the explanation people give to that is someone must have stole the key, but to decrypt the key one must know the password so there must be some key loggers that are getting pass AV's radar.

1247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain signing message on: June 25, 2015, 06:00:44 PM
I use blockchain.

I even tried to create a new blockchain and test it there, I made a signature, used brainwallet to verify it and it was not able to verify.

I made sure there were no extra symbols or spaces but it still says invalid :/

blockchain is the vessel behind for example bitcoin.

you are probably talking about blockchain.info the website?

ofcourse he is talking about blockchain.info/wallet, I am sure he's not asking how to sign a message with bitcoin blockchain.

OP can you post a signed message here, Just make sure to add the today's date to it and a line for "testing purpose only", and we'll see if it verifies or not.

How I already said, I'm currently making one so we can see how many of them are fake and other info..

https://www.twitteraudit.com/ <- this is how but it's irrelevant at this point because of this:

I dont want my handle to have fake followers. The best you can do is create new twitter account, give it 50k followers and post it here so we can verify your service.

This guy has suggested you a very simple way proving that your followers are indeed real but you also need to provide proof and the simplest way of doing that is make an account post it here without the followers, then add the followers and we'll check on twitteraudit.

I really doubt they are but if you're sure they'd pass on twitter audit then doing this you're not losing anything. You'll be only adding the followers to your own account and you can sell the twitter account later to make profit.
1252  Economy / Gambling / Re: challenge poker on: June 25, 2015, 03:32:07 PM
According to him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1092254.0 , there appears to be 2 guys on luckyflop, namely (jorjito25 and Bitkiller) which are unbeatable, he got so frustrated of not beating them that he thought they were Bots which later got cleared that they're not and are infact table starters for luckyflop because they're too good.

So go ahead and try to beat them on ring games there and if you're succesful come back and brag about it here. GL
1253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have 1 BTC, how will you make it to 1.1 BTC in the best way? 10$ Prize on: June 25, 2015, 02:41:12 PM
If you have 1 BTC, how will you make it to 1.1 BTC in the best way? 10$ Prize

this is like asking:

I had 242USD, how to make 266USD in best way? if you will tell me, I will give you 10USD and I won 14USD.

grow up kid, this is just insane:)

He said 'if' you had 1 BTC.

He's asking a hypothetical question with regards to how would one make 10% of his investment in 1-3 days and he's offering a reward of $10 for the best idea which he might be able to apply to even bigger investment, he's not looking to just make $14 so that he can give $10.

Try to understand the context of the post before jumping in with your smart ass replies.
1254  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police officers accidentally broadcast blow job conversation to entire city on: June 25, 2015, 01:37:11 PM
Advertising the wrongdoings and spreading it, is worst than doing wrong by ourselves.

Advertising the wrongdoings and spreading it has been taken up as a classic responsibility by stuck up fucked up journalists as their personal agenda and feel it is justice enough to showcase enough others mistake and let the world see and judge others.

It's the general responsibility of Journalist to report any news, including Police officers getting paid to not doing their duty whilst flying in helicopters and hoping to get blowjobs from their fellow police officers.

It doesn't matter if they were Police Officers, Politicians, Criminals or general public, reporting the wrongdoings is news and it's their job to do so whether you like it or not.
1255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Calculate profit and loss on: June 25, 2015, 01:12:24 PM
Why go into so much detail, why don't simple calculate the amount of BTC you went in with into a trade and calculate the amount of BTC you got out with it. For ex.

You bought altcoins worth 0.05 BTC, you kept it for a while and it went up, you sold it and then it showed in your balance you have 0.055 BTC, so there's your profit 0.005 BTC after subtracting everything, you still have to pay the TX fee when you withdraw the BTC from the exchange but it's still simple that way.

You should calculate your profit *before* you trade or you may not get any profit. This is the normal way.

Well of-course but I don't think you understood what I said. If you bought something for 5 and the price at a later point is 10, then it is *already* calculated that you're in profit, if you sell it then what you get in access is profit. Simple as that.

And if you use an exchange, it is already shown on the sell order after deducting all the fee.

1257  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: June 25, 2015, 07:59:18 AM
but what about purse.io ? Isn't the solution for buying from amazon with bitcoins ?

Whether it is a solution or not is irrelevant to the discussion happening here, if you're thinking of in-direct solutions, you'll probably find ways of buying things from other sites using bitcoin with a middleman in between. What we really want is to have companies accepting bitcoins directly, so people can shop and pay directly without having to rely on a third party.

Stop the conversation! The only thing that would matter here (and no, I didn't scan the middle pages) is that if Amazon would accept bitcoin, that they should actively advertise discounts for paying w/ it (I'm a broken record about that sort of thing but it is the apex of bitcoin payments). Unless this happens, this move would just add to selling pressure unless there is a residual demand to purchase w/ bitcoin to receive said discounts in such a large trading/good purchasing place. Don't ever fall for these stories of places accepting bitcoin unless they give a % off because you use bitcoin's utility to pay them. As it is, you pay a markup on bitcoin in most buying zones unless you catch it on an exchange where the risk is insolvency at some miniscule rate.

1258  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it illegal for me to sell my Bitcoins? on: June 25, 2015, 07:53:54 AM
I was thinking of using localbitcoins, but this is all just so absurd.  Its not money, right?  Or is it?  Best of both worlds fo rthe government but they make the rules, and they are bought by the banks to make rules.  Why pay 50$ to wire money to your family over seas when you can pay 2 cents to send it with bitcoins?  I think the banks are behind all of these bizarre regulations, and they want to limit the usefulness of bitcoins.

You're right, it is absurd when banks ask so much fee to send money oversees and bitcoins offer a very cheap alternative to do that but until it gets a legal status there will always be problems because governments don't know whether you're sending/receiving money to/from your family or you're doing money laundering, which is why if you receive or send money oversees, you might have to do a lot of explaining and/or you might get charged doing so.
1259  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: June 25, 2015, 07:44:35 AM
we are lucky that bitcoin is pretty catchy as a name, it will spread fast between student, if they start get used to it, via gaming

in the elementary school professors should already teach about any financial instrument and any asset(just the base of it), including bitcoin, but i don't think they are doing so

I think elementary school students haven't ready yet to get some complicated thing like financial, financial instrument, asset, investment, etc. Yeah I think the teachers won't teach their students about bitcoin since they haven't known about bitcoin and don't have any idea with it. We don't need the school teach our kids about bitcoin, because we don't know whether the teachers say about good or bad to bitcoin since there were many crime news related to it. Just teach kids ourselves, if we feel it needed to them.

Do we really need to start teaching elementary children about bitcoins, it's pretty difficult for some of the non-technical adults to understand the concept of bitcoins, I say leave the kids alone and let them enjoy their childhood, as it is they have lot on their mind, school homework etc.

I think once they reach their teen years it will be good idea to start telling them about it, by that time they'd know how emails and computers work.

Yeah it's only available in US, I don't know if there is a way to bypass it through VPN because I don't use one but I have tried with Proxies and it doesn't works, I have seen a few people selling small $5 USD AGCs every now and then and maybe that's how they're getting those.
