A payment takes 10 min to process. In what store can you buy something under 10 minute really?
Sometimes you have to wait 15 min at the tilt because the employee is a moron, if you could do that in 10 min i`d be very happy.
You just buy the stuff quick, pay for it, then put the bought stuff in a safe storage inside the magazine, and go looking at the other products until you wait for verification. Then after the verification is done, pickup your bought goods and leave.
It would change shopping habits, but whatever.
Not all blocks take 10 minutes, that's the average time but some of them I have seen to take more than an hour. It is a minor problem and it has been discussed before but if any store does starts to accept BTC as a payment method then the person paying with bitcoin has to wait until the Tx has received 1 confirmation because the shop owner won't accept payment until it has 1 confirmation and for now this is how it is.

I need to send >5 bitcoin to a stranger on the Internet in return for some digital goods (nothing illegal).
Has anybody used btcrow.com as an Escrow service for trading and can they be trusted to hold my bitcoin?
I have used it in the past and it is good, but I don't know how are disputed handled on the site. With such big amounts, I would always recommend using an escrow on bitcointalk. They are always much more safer and can help settle disputes in an efficient manner. Ok thanks. Any recommendations for an escrow on bitcointalk? How would that work? There are lots of them. Some of the good ones you can use are devthedev , escrow.ms , master-p , Tomatocage escrow.ms currently isn't providing escrow services but you're right, they all are very trusted but if I were to recommend I would say devthedev, tomatocage. Here's another list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

Like it or not but once they do this people will deposit their bitcoins in it, some will do it for the interest (if there is any) others will do it because they don't know how to keep their bitcoins safe or they're too naive and trust whatever is said on a website, I have seen a few people on this forum who still keep large amounts of bitcoin on blockchain info wallet even though there are so many reports on how others have lost bitcoins stored there.
I just hope that this bank comes under some jurisdiction and doesn't runs away with people's funds.

You send a statement to the blockchain (readable by everyone who wants or needs to) that some number of Satoshis that were previously under your control are now under someone else's control. Your statement is only valid when you prove (via a digital signature) that you have the private key belonging to the address which originally received the bitcoins. Similarly, the recipient can only spend the bitcoins when they provide a similar signature with their private key. Of course, you don't send to a recipient but to an address - presumably the recipient told you the address to send to and considers your payment made when the required amount is available to that address, but you don't send anything directly to the recipient.
Onkel Paul
thanks it helped me to get the knowledge inspite of it that i didnt asked..thank you
Zeros and ones unless it's Tuesday and you're in Belgium, then it's ones and zeros.
can you please explain what you said ..belgium ,tuesday..it sounds curious to me, if you didn't joked.. "Gleb" is just a crazy troll guy here.../ignore Lol but he's funny and I love funny people.
And to answer you question OP, when you send bitcoins to someone you send digital money from your address on blockchain to the recipients bitcoin address, it is publicly visible to anyone but only the person holding the key to that address controls the funds. And the technical aspect of it is already very well explained by onkel paul.

You can sell here on the forums but this can be quite risky
trust system and escrow are here for a purpose, i don't find it more risky than holding your coins in some radnom or notorious exchange actually with the right escrow , trading here on the forum is the most secure form of exchanging your money Actually the real threat when trading BTC to Paypal is charge back and no escrow can secure you from it. But having been said that I have seen people on this forum who are considered trusted to trade using Paypal but OP I'd still suggest you to go slow and trade in small quantities. Although afaik it can be charged back upto 180 days cmiiw, to me it just sounds like trouble.

Electrum is becoming much better with each update. Keep up the good work! True, Electrum rocks, I just hope I get to see a windows phone version of it someday. I only trust electrum with my funds and hate that I have to rely on other wallets when using mobile.

Gambling is the badest way to earn money online ,you can get lucky once or twice in maybe 1 month with betting on it,dont count on it to make btc,you will end up losing it
Not at all types of gambling, if you are skilled at poker you're going to be in profit in long term and same can be said for sportsbook, I know some people who have spent their whole life sports betting and they do it for living. But as I said both require skills and a lot of effort especially in sports betting.

I wouldn't recommend you investing in cloud mining, the ones that were thought to be reliable at one time turned out to be scams and ran away with user's funds and the ones that are running, you'd have to invest a lot of funds to earn anything from them and it's too risky.

If you need bitcoin wallet in your phone, don't choose online wallet. You better choose mycelium where you can get the private key But, if you really need online wallet. Make sure you give strong password & enable 2FA Hey can you please tell what is mycelium? Is it a mobile app for keeping coins offline? I am looking for a reliable mobile app which I can keep offline and always accessible to me. Does mycelium have the same functionality? Mycelium is BTC Android wallet, it is pretty reliable, what you can do is if you want to keep your coins offline, put them on paper wallets and Mycelium has an import wallet feature so you can import the address which contains the offline funds, use them and send the rest to another offline/paper wallet to use later.

Hey ndnhc, what happened to the spreadsheet which use to auto update the posts count by participants in real time?

Minimum deposit amount as well as fee is too high.Do you think with current package you have any serious chance to catch players? All the requirements are very high for some online casino. You need to make it more user friendly and promotions are the best things to do too.
because they are online since 2000 and claiming that it is very trusted casino so they want rich players there because they are running business for classes, i am also disappointed to see the minimum deposit of $100 and that is really very high to test this service,
It is too high, but they noted it and they might change it soon, so let's give them some time. Noted on decreasing minimum BTC deposit / withdrawals and also that VietBet needs more posts / time on bitcointalk (correct we are new to this site).
Site looks good, I am mostly interested in sportsbook, will try to see if you guys offer better odds then others apart from the poker promotions I think you should also start a signature campaign on this forum, so that more people can get to know about your site.

I think I have seen this script on other dice sites too and it always gave me some errors, I believe there are better scripts out there, even the moneypot one is very smooth, may be you can give it a shot and see how things go.
Also ..Just wondering what persuaded you to choose this domain name "CrimeDice"?

When I first entered bitcoin I believed it was going to change the financial world for the masses for the better, as time has gone on I don't believe so much anymore that it will do what I first believed. Will it grow I am also skeptical about this but heres to hoping it does I am in camp 2 I feel it was a bubble and will roll down to a few dollars not 0 though because to much funds will be pushing it back up and carry on manipulating to make their quick buck. There were skeptics like you at the start also but some people believed in the concept and they bought it when not many people were buying, and now we know them as 'early adopters' and because they believed in it they received the rewards when it went to the roof. I believe bitcoin has a great future ahead and the people who believe in it will again be rewarded in future, but it might not be in near future as it will take some time.

It is legal in my country afaik and I do know a few people who use bitcoins, some of them were introduced to it by me but they mostly use it for anonymous and easy gambling.
I have also met a few people online who live very close to my home and they buy/sell bitcoins and I use their services from time to time to purchase bitcoins. So to answer your questions OP I think it's not too developed atm but it's getting there slowly.

Definitely! And it will also go up to at least $ 2000,-. But it could take another 15 - 24 months.
but there is nothing major happening that can cause this huge rise in the bitcoin price. there is the same news and events that was before and the price is stuck at this level of $220 ish. what reason do you have that it can go up to $2000 ish? Yeah, I don't think it's going to happen in 15-24 months either, it will rise very slowly and it shall take a lot of time. The price cannot be predicted and although right now it seems that it's not going anywhere but you never know, the only people who will benefit from it in long term will be believers like early adopters who despite of all the negativity kept it and got the rewards.

You're right, I am sorry I will not discuss this further here, just one last ques though.
When I asked about the IDs I meant does your Govt. follow this system as well and if they do, does it mean you guys get adult status one year before?
PS: I'll see if I can find someone to make a video and mail it to you.
|
|
|
Hm.. this is weird strange. How does your IDs work? Do they show your actual age or +1 ? In other words, the first year of life is counted as one instead of zero, so that a person is two years old in their First year, three years old in their second, and so on.[1][2] Since age is incremented on the beginning of solar term rather than on a birthday, people may be one or two years older in Asian reckoning than in the Western system.

Moon (her name) born on 15 june '92 (be aware Korean ages are different)
Also looking to an escrow to hold the 0.2 btc till then
What do you mean by Korean ages are different? If she is born on June 15 th 1992 then her age on June 15 th 2015 will be 23, how is it different? And here's an escrow list, choose the one you prefer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

Best answers are chosen by the user who has posted the question and it's not that easy to get fake votes. I posted 5 answers earlier and 1 answer was chosen as the best one and hence I know how it works.
I checked the website but their reward is too less 0.0001 which is barely 2 cents. Other sites offer 20 cents for the best answer.
Yes, this is correct but if no best answer is chosen by the questionnaire then the best answer is left to be chosen by votes, the reward is not too great but still something is better than nothing. Do you mind telling which other sites give 20 cents for best answers? I'll give them a shot when I have nothing better to do.

A competitor of Bitcoin saying it's no good, not surprising at all. It's good though that they bothered enough to give it a review. However, I do think that in time the Transaction fee might increase as more restrictions are put in and maybe miners will ask to increase the Tx fees as the mining becomes less profitable after halvening.
