2241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winter in Europe on: December 09, 2017, 01:26:47 PM
Hi people,
Would you agree that, in general, the winter is the most promisingly time to invest into bitcoin?

In addition, due to the Christmas holiday, when people get together and discuss bitcoin trading, we will see a large jump in the bitcoin price?

I am yet to find the understanding the relationship between festivities and bitcoin. What if we explain it the other way round that because of the festivities people will then need to convert massively in other to meet up with the expenses that come along with this period. In other words, instead of seeing a jump in the price of bitcoin, we see a dump in price.

The better we realize that every time presents its own opportunity to invest the moment you can afford which is not tied to either gathering of people or planned events that doesn't have any relationship to bitcoin.
2242  Economy / Economics / Re: did you know industry marijuana will be good future in cryptocurrency? on: December 09, 2017, 08:12:57 AM
Lets Discus!

recently, I noticed that some Cryptocurrency moves in the cannabis industry experienced a very large grow up this week. This cannabis plant is still a lot of countries that can not legalization and debate about this plant, Because this type of plant belonging to one of narcotics. recently. I searched for more information and I found interesting things that could be useful for treating gains in medicine, I also read an article that contained about marijuana plants in embroidered cloth (I'm not really sure about it initially  Grin).

this is cryptocurrency within the cannabis industry: (Potcoin, HempCoin, DopeCoin) I hope this helps  Smiley

In my own hones opinion, every coin that whose objective nothing other than promoting cannabis is a joke and one of the projects soiling the name of crypto currency by giving further arguments to those people who hold that crypto currency is being used for illegal activities since cannabis is illegal in most countries of the world.

Cannabis and other drugs have caused more harm than good in any social setting of the world irrespective of how the promoters of such want people to believe other wise. You see young people getting wasted away then turn to social miscreants to disturb the community and the only thing they take which is different from those who help the community is cannabis and all of other drugs.
2243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to launch ICO ? on: December 09, 2017, 06:43:23 AM
I am a commerce doctrate. And i am researching on potential of recruitment fundamentals. I am looking closly to all current crypto world. Meanwhile,, i am looking to initialise a small ICO project. Anyone who can tell.. how can i develop a secure eth token exchange for offering, with wordpress or anything else available.?

There is nothing like small ICO project because its either its successful or its not successful which means you need to be prepared for whatever the outcome. However, there are so many factors to put into consideration and not see it as a way to raise "small money" you might eventually get more than what you bargained for.

1. What you intend raising an ICO for, what gap does it seek to close in the crypto world?

2. How do you expect it to bring return to the investors in area of listing it on exchange which is one key thing a lot of people are after before even putting their fund into any ICO?

3. What timeline and milestone is your projects planning to accomplish?
2244  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Abysss Signature Campaign manager scamming members. on: December 08, 2017, 08:59:19 PM
i think this campaign owner or manager are just trying to enrolling their own alt account because they locking their campaign again and again , i think they are just trying to scamming or trying to make this forum people fool.

I was hoping to read something more intelligent and on point as I was wondering what a campaign that opened today could have done wrong in less than 24hours, I guess Op was either disappointed of not being picked on his own official handle or just looking for a reason to cause trouble. I have seen a manager prepare a campaign thread in archival and some users followed his posts to go and apply there until he locked the thread to be able to effect the changes he want. We have also seen managers locked down a thread because some conditions on the campaign had not been met. This is not a big deal Op just like what everybody else have maintained.
2245  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bubble and the fact you simply can't sell your BTC for large amount?! on: December 08, 2017, 07:08:37 PM
This situation you are is kind of serious because you have probably explore the options you have but moving large amount is really not about bitcoin but the process of converting to fiat is where the issue is and from where I see it, its one of the problem bitcoin wants to solve which is freedom to move your money so far you earn it legitimately. That being said even if you carry out a project and you are paid in fiat, there is limit to what you can move as an individual without the bank raising a flag or you answering questions about the source of such funds.

Based on the explanation, I think you need to settle for the gradual withdrawal and if all your verification should fall though at once, you cannot still not stay under the radar with that amount of money moved at once. My suggestion, try using another peer to peer site like paxful(if available in the Bahamas) where you can get someone to transfer to you using Western Union, or start thinking of converting it to ordering goods from abroad which you would probably need to buy locally if the money lands.
2246  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: December 08, 2017, 06:31:49 PM
ddos attack? something going on with server?  Huh
I'm getting ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT and sometimes 504 Gateway Time-out
or is it scheduled maintenance? but I don't see any announcement about it
I hope the site gets back online soon

It happens every once in a while. Unfortunately, given how much competition there is in the bitcoin mixing sector, it is impossible to effectively protect against a DDoS attack in a cheap and effective way, as these are very cheap to execute themselves but expensive to protect against, as the systems that would have to be in place for more than just basic null-routing cost a lot to maintain. It is better to just wait it out. ChipMixer has pretty good support and in case something happened to your transaction, your bitcoins should be fine.

This DDoS attack is something that really need to be battled as everybody just complain about that even the forum administrator had to take an alternative which is using the cloudfare( the cheapest way out) services which comes with some amount of compromise on the part of anonymity which I think why ChipMixer is not updating it yet. But there is always another option which is going through the Tor version of the site to get uninterrupted service because this issue of attacks has been discussed before on the thread. The site is currently active now though.
2247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Come NiceHash Stored Nearly 5 000 BTC? on: December 08, 2017, 04:46:14 PM
Learning about today's NiceHash hack I can't stop wondering how come they had nearly 5000 BTC for god sake? Have thousands of miners not withdrew for years? Have large players kept lots of funds to quickly grab mining power at will?

The issue here is not about one person or group of people having that amount of btc in the custody of NiceHash and its not that they are not withdrawing but its like everyone of us on the forum having as low as 0.001btc on a particular site. As at the last check which I did, we have above 500,000 members on the average taking into consideration the amount of people that have several accounts imagine the amount of btc that would have been siphoned in case the site gets compromised, that's exactly what happened here.

Miners are smart to know that you don't leave large chunk of your funds on a site but hackers are equally smarter looking for who to devour at every opportunity its left for us to protect ourselves from the ones we can and be exposed to the minimum casualties to the ones we cannot control.
2248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a bubble, its the Pin! on: December 08, 2017, 03:32:38 PM
Bubble or not?

You know everything depends on perception and what you see about the unfolding events. For those who are arguing that bitcoin is a bubble, they have their own points and even valid because they have evidence of events to support their position. For those who also hold the position that its not, they also have their reasons and I am one of those who hold that believe as well.

Bitcoin is an evolving technology that every developer and even  giants in the financial world are yet to understand the mystery behind it which is penetrating gradually and that is why the volatility is kind of high but gradually it will subside and everyone will see the true potential of bitcoin.
2249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Deal with Bitcoins Up & Down Swings? Please Help. on: December 08, 2017, 01:37:15 PM
I haven't had a drink in about 2 years. I Do Not Smoke the earth," Green nor purple"
I have had these coins a total of 2 days. and I haven't slept in these 2 days .
I have read so many hack stories that it doesn't matter unless I shove them up my azz
and sew it close someone is going to hack me. "OH wait they have x-ray wifi for hacking my azz too.
On top of worrying about it being hacked, I have been following the price
WTF " UP DOWN!! UP, DOWN!!!
This is a rollercoaster that I'm really starting to feel sick !!! Will I be Rich or will I be poor???
I don't Know but what I do know is  after I get my payment from Satoshii today I'm offloading A large
% of my bitcoins before I have a heart attack This is cool as a gamble but as an investment Mann
you either have to have balls or be using someone elses money because Bitcoin is not for the faint hearted
BTW how do you deal with your Bitcoin Market Price Stress!!!

Your fear and concerns is very much normal and its because you are just coming into this unique world of volatility. I am quite certain you have not been involved in something not as volatile as this but don't worry you will get used  to it everyone have had such at one point or the other. In my own case, a simple unable to check my wallet balance for the fifth time within the hour, made me lose my patience that I had to sell everything thinking that I could be hacked the next minute but those decisions are some I regret which is going to happen to you too if you decide to sell out of pressure and not self will.

Another piece of advice which is key, is that don't put in more than you can lose or that could alter your wellbeing in case things went the other way from initially planned with that you are able yo maintain your cool till when things stabilises.
2250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions || What is the reason? on: December 08, 2017, 10:49:01 AM
To be honest, i have never seen the network being so lazy when it comes on transactions. This is the first time for me to wait this much for a transaction to be confirmed after paying the recommended fees for it. There are more than 220k unconfirmed transactions in the network right now and increasing every second. Why are the transactions not getting confirmed? What is the reason for the network to get stuck this much?

I guess we can't always have it both ways yesterday I made a transaction too, paid the required fee and till this moment, its still very much unconfirmed. I tried using viabtc accelerator, its always full even when I tried at the exact hour. I thought it had something to do with the fee but no, its just the network we have to live with it. Hopefully when the whole of this spiral increase in bitcoin settles, we get to have more shorter time of confirmation that what we are witnessing now.
2251  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin Forbidden In Islam? Why? on: December 07, 2017, 08:34:41 PM
Assim al-Hakeem, a Saudi minister has announced that cryptographic forms of money are entirely disallowed under Islamic law. This is on account of they are both vague and give namelessness to crooks. He made this declaration on Ask Zaad, as Bitcoin costs shot above $12,000 for the first run through.

This decision comes after the best religious body in Turkey likewise expressed that Bitcoins were contradictory with Islam in light of the fact that the estimation of them is 'available to theory' and can be utilized as a part of 'illicit activiies'.

A great deal of this is a direct result of the Bitcoin action on darknet commercial centers, where they trust that clients are utilizing the cash in return for medications and weapons, which has raised various diverse doubts about the virtual cash.

In only one year, the estimation of Bitcoin has raised fundamentally from only $1000 toward the begin of the year, to more than $12,000 now. This sensational ascent has isolated the monetary group, with many trusting that the money may soon come smashing down once more.

Bitcoin was made about 10 years back, to fill in as an other option to government provided monetary forms. Exchanges including Bitcoin can consider finish obscurity, which has made it unbelievably prevalent among the individuals who wish to keep their money related action and their personality private.

Bitcoin digger work PC ranches, where they can check client's exchanges by settling complex scientific riddles. These mineworkers are paid in Bitcoin, which would then be able to be changed over into a conventional cash.

The utilization of digital forms of money have changed as of late. While at first they were utilized as a technique for installment, all the more as of late they have turned into an extremely prevalent venture opportunity.

I would agree with the part that it might be used for illegal means but saying its against Islamic laws is just too absurd for me to phantom because it then means majority of human civilisation is against Islamic law. Even Saudi Arabia the origin of Islam so to say gave citizenship to a robot by the name Sophia but that was in consonance with Islamic law.

What I see is that the leaders are only using that as an excuse to back their theory up is labelling bitcoin a bad name since their countries is ruled by Islamic laws its then good to say any thing they don't want is against the law so that people can believe them. By the time the other countries gives bitcoin legal status, they will still find a section of the law that would accommodate the legalization of bitcoin
2252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 76% people said we should remove Bitcoin from our platform! on: December 07, 2017, 04:41:53 PM
We made a poll on our Twitter (https://twitter.com/Shopawl_com/status/938506204489441281) and asked should we remove Bitcoin from our platform and replace it with BitcoinCash and the votes are surprisingly in favor of BitcoinCash.

Due to high bitcoin network we are not accepting orders below 5$ on our platform but as Bitcoin price is increasing day by day it is no more feasible for small value transactions. But at the same time Bitcoin price is empowering people. They can buy expensive products with less amount of Bitcoins as price increases.

We want to hear suggestion from you as well.

Cheers!

Our platform: https://shopawl.com

First thing first, the number of people in that poll is not representative at all. I dont understand why you have to use Twitter to gather opinions where not all your users are active on Twitter and even if they are, not all of them are following you. If they are following you, not all of them will see the tweets because of the number of people they follow whose activities would show on their timeline. If you want a more representative opinion, do two things

1. Create a mail that will be directed at your users with just a click as to whether to vote yes or no and

2. On the home page when they log-in to your site, a pop-up should appear for users to cast their votes and with this you can get the representation of the people you wanted and from there you can make your decision.

A lot of the voters must have been carried away by the fees and nothing else.
2253  Economy / Goods / Re: Ship your old Items and get more bitcoins on: December 07, 2017, 02:18:10 PM
I've got you. Nevertheless why not try me by mailing one or two items to check whether i'll be reliable or not? You can come up on this forum to give a testimony about your experience with me...

I've even said that if someone want to come on the ground to get all the assurance i will be glad to host him/her.

Business-minded people build partnerships through trials and visits on the grounds.

Thanks for your feedback

The kind of service you want to offer is quite controversial if you ask me and its because of several reasons I will try to itemize.

1.  The issue of trust, which you have right noted as to reason because you are a newbie on the forum, I think its just too early to start this kind of thing before understanding the way the forum operates and what is applicable for a service like this.

2. Who determines the value of those item, the buyer or the seller or the middle man which you are playing here and how do you propose that conflict be resolved.

3. You ask that something should be sent to you first to determine your reliability, that I say its a red flag because no matter how small the item would be, its has value and what if you don't sell the goods within a reasonable time frame, how do you keep explaining to the seller even though you didn't intend to scam.

My suggestion is to set yourself up to buy these things you wants, do it with an escrow when you receive it, the escrow release the bitcoin and you can place whatever profit margin on it depending on the market condition. With this, you can make more profit and free yourself from even hassle of explanations to the owner as to why the goods is not selling fast or why the value has dropped from the agreed amount.
2254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: By the time you figure out why Bitcoin has risen, it will crash. Here's why on: December 07, 2017, 11:18:50 AM
A Chinese insider just spilled the beans:
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/china-turns-bitcoin-focus-inward/

At the end of the article he says that China still left open wiggle room to re-open exchanges.  Now this may sound like good news, China is the biggest miner and trader of bitcoin.  But if you know why Bitcoin has risen recently this is very bad news.

Bitcoin is skyrocketing because it banned exchanges.  The exchange ban went into full effect sept 30th.  This is when bitcoins price started going to the moon.  Supply and demand.  Almost all of the bitcoin supply comes from China.  When exchanges were shut down, none of that supply could make it to the market.  Hence the price goes up.

Two situations could then crash bitcoin.  First a Chinese mining ban.  This would mean the supply of bitcoin would shift to other countries as china will exit the mining pool.  This would cause an increase in bitcoin supply to western markets by nearly 2,000 bitcoin per day.  This would cause bitcoin price to crash but it may be a slow process.

China knows what it is doing and it is trying to obfuscate what is going on behind the scenes.  China wants to crash bitcoin.  They will do it to lead up  to their rollout of the digital crypto Yuan.

Bitcoin will go to the moon.  It will go so high that the whole world will see.  Then as quickly as the rise started, china will re-open the exchanges and cause an instant dump.

At that point everyone will know what caused the rise of bitcoin.  Will you figure it out before that day?

Several reasons have been expounded how the bitcoin would crash and every of those theories have one common characteristics which is 'an insider'. There was one that I read that I have to ponder over it that according to insider information, the plan was to increase bitcoin price up to $10000 then from there start crashing the price even to as low as $3000 but alas bitcoin price touched $15000 and its still standing.

I have always maintained that China still have a control on bitcoin simply because of the grip they have on mining which is going to be their last card which I am sure they are waiting for the right time to that its going to make a devastating effect before launching that. Anyone who is conversant should be weary of that. On the lifting of ban on exchange sites, I don't expect that to cause much impact although it could cause a fairly drop but not to the point of crash as you have made it sound. The fact is the world is gradually moving away from such while Chinese enthusiasts, would have been making use of alternatives to transact with their bitcoin.
2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another hack, learned the lesson yet? on: December 07, 2017, 09:13:28 AM
You might already know that NiceHash got hacked and over $60 million were stolen. That probably wouldn't happen If people withdrew their funds on at least weekly basis. The price is increasing at the moment so we might see more inside jobs or hacks in the future, even for small sites. I'm asking for everyone to withdraw their funds from online services where they don't control their private keys and put them somewhere safer (Electrum, Mycelium,Ledger nano S, Trezor, Paper wallet etc.)

Maybe because the value of the amount at stake here is not enough to gather attention and the increase in price of bitcoin is diverting people from the atrocities that has been committed here because its only people that have kept their funds on this platform will bear the brunt of their failure to take heed to several warnings especially when the price of bitcoin is reaching new height and the lamentations begins of how he would have been richer if not of the hacks.

Unfortunately, people will still fall prey of the next hack and the warnings about not keep funds on electronic platforms will still come again  and again but those who will listen should listen.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Government put an hand to interfere the Cryptocurrency and tax us? on: December 07, 2017, 05:23:20 AM
I have read an article "US Senate Moves to Criminalize Non-Disclosure of Cryptocurrency Ownership which about not only BTC but also cryptocurrencies have finally drawn the attention of both the mainstream and the governments.

So, do you think the day will come soon or never happen?

IMO, the government will surely find some way to interfere with a "proper" excuse and tax us because they are leak of money! Their intention is so obvious to make everything "Legal". However, will they success? Will we fight?
Everyone who hodling crypto is not only want profit and financial freedom but also they do not like how centralization works.

Sorry for my poor English. Hope you will understand.

This is a huge line of action for government which they would want to tap into because imagine charging a capital gain tax of just 10% on sale of bitcoin. Let's also imagine someone who bought at $1000 price is now $14000 which means government will get a tax of $1300 which is even more than the initial amount investment.

With the above room to increase the tax revenue, there is a dilemma because of the beclouded judgement of using bitcoin to finance criminal activities and until they are able to get that in check through various policies and rules, they would definitely interfere in the near future.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As of today, Steam will no longer support Bitcoin as a payment method! on: December 07, 2017, 05:14:40 AM
This is really a sad news. Steam had done a great job by accepting Bitcoin as a payment. But times have changed now. Bitcoin hasn't been a reliable payment option lately. Longer confirmations timings, Higher transaction fee isn't what Bitcoin was actually meant to be.

Last year everyone wanted to buy things with Bitcoin as it was almost free to send it and magical. But now its a store of value used to make you rich instantly:(

It must have taken them a while to arrive at this decision but with immediate effect is the concern here that they didn't even give their users the right amount of notification in other to prepare themselves another alternative to use or made available. Its really an unfortunate thing at this time though.

The bold part is not really that part but because the value of bitcoin has greatly increased, that is why I would shout if .0008btc to pay as transaction fee today is close to 10$ compared to a little above $2 that it was not less than 6 months ago but we are all happy with the price of bitcoin not the fees that comes with it. Confirmation time is slow but its better compared to some time in the past.
2258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to become a bounty campaign manager? on: December 06, 2017, 08:37:54 PM
so ive just finished school and my job starts in the summer... i have some free time right now and would be interested in managing a campaign, ive always been good at organizing and responding to people who need help.... i think id like to try my hand at doing 1 bounty campaign for a trial and see how i like it .... been around here for a bit now and have no thought of leaving anytime soon, love the forum and have coins invested for the long term so i like being around here Smiley

ive inboxed some bounty managers ive been a part of campaigns with that ive worked for social media bounties, but i never really got any answers so im hoping making a thread can help give me some info? Just wondering how i would go about becoming a campaign bounty manager ?? how much is typical pay im assuming it would be weekly during the entire bounty or a one price deal for the entire bounty which most bounties are 8-12 weeks that ive been a part of personally ( done around 30 bounties since being here )  and basically just any info at all for being a bounty campaign manager, not looking to steal any previous or well known guys jobs... just want to get my beak wet and possibly look  into this as a part time gig , since i have a ton of time right now and think id be very positive for a campaign

cheers to anybody who can give some info, details or help... if you dont feel comfortable sharing here even send me a DM id appreciate any help Smiley
thanks to all regardless , happy holidays

Being a manager would involve a lot more than what you are doing by reaching out bounty managers because a lot of them even with the amount of projects they are handling, won't mind getting anything more and because of the issue of spamming all over the forum, it will be very difficult for anyone to work with you if you have not done any job in that regard before.

To break through with this quest of yours, you will need to either put it as your Personal message hoping someone will reach out to you, create a thread stating the number of people (choosing low numbers for a start) or start writing to developers on the bounty section who might not have anyone in mind but you also need to be careful not to be involved with the wrong project that would tarnish the image you are yet to build as a manager.
2259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need your opinion #3 on: December 06, 2017, 06:25:46 PM
Just thinking will it have potential or no.  Pawn shop for online items, the place where you can get money for your account, item from game, gift card, art, code for anything what have value.

It will be a good one but the part of getting money for your account is something you will need to define properly because if its like bitcointalk accounts, then that would not be nice in my opinion because that would mean creating an avenue for more scammers and spammers to continue to transact their business outside the forum which is something that is frown at over here.

On the other options, I think it will be a good one but the costs should be something you need to consider by finding a way to get it at a discount compared to other major markets and also the shipping fees should be looked into because of the category of people who will be buying outside your country of residence. Also, you need to think of inbuilt escrow system as well as conflict resolution mechanism because when it comes to handling people, all this are bound to create problems.
2260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rulers Can ban Bitcoin through the entire Earth! on: December 06, 2017, 03:45:09 PM
We Know That We Have High Personalities that control each Country and They are The Officials Of United Nations Leaders, What Do you Think, if they Ban Bitcoin in every country, for the Reason that bitcoin is Decentralized and can make FIAT Disappear. What can You say about it? as an Individual Bitcoin User?

Its a possibility though but the issue is can they ban the internet? All over the world there are bans against cocaine and several other hard drugs even to the extent that countries have established law enforcement department saddled with that responsibility but ages down the line after several heist cracking, there are still drug lords, cabals, god fathers still having their way. The cleansing going in the Philippines is a testimony to that.

The reason for that analogy is that even if its pronounced in United Nations, World Bank that bitcoin is banned, it will still be in existence because there is no one place they can go to shut it down and fortunately or otherwise, they cannot still find Satoshi like they did for the creator of Liberty currency.
