1861  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Getcryptotab.com a scam on: March 08, 2018, 09:07:40 PM
Newbie here. I found this chrome extension circulating on Social Media Getcryptotab and many are using this to mine bitcoin. I already installed this extension and so far I already generate 0.000000165700 BTC in one night alone.

I wonder if any one here already withdraw from this website. Any reviews and feedback?

Take a look at their own recent payouts page: https://getcryptotab.com/en/journal/

All the payments are in the thousands of satoshi. If they are a legitimate service that is actually mining bitcoins with your computing power then it'll just mean that your computer is getting severely lagged and overheated for virtually no rewards.

Also, your electricity costs will pretty much not going to be covered.

You made a good decision to stop using it. There are no benefits whatsoever, especially as it could even be a hidden virus or not even pay you when you have just made enough for minimum withdrawal.
So basically scam right? Even they allow you to withdraw it is still not enough to harness the actual fee that cost your mining service right?
I see there are tons of risk in involving to a chrome extension thanks for the warning 0.000000165700BTC a night is not enough and not worth a try.

For a newbie, that amount of satoshis in a night would be massive because the calculation in his head would be, if I can get this in one night, how much more would I get in about say 30 nights and in few months, I could have 1 btc by practically not doing anything forgetting that the implicit cost (just like a faucet site, that takes your time, data, deceive you to click on ads, solve annoying puzzles while they are made richer) is more than that, and the increment won't happened  on a multiplying by nights basis. If the site is not scam, they would set a minimum payout point which would either frustrate you to leave, if otherwise they would make you keep your eyes on the prize for them to have enough time to either cause damage to the system or the users by exploiting information just like someone outlined earlier.

1862  Economy / Services / Re: Selling 3Commas Account with $10,000 Balance for $5000 on: March 08, 2018, 07:49:30 PM
I want to get something straight in this transaction and kindly provide explanation as well.

If you are not allowed to make withdrawal which necessitate the selling of the account, how would the new owner be able to access because it won't be different of seeing an address with 10btc without access to the address or maybe I am missing something here.

Again, if you won a campaign, they are bound to honour such agreement if you had meet the conditions and would not deny you your prize without a tangible reason as businesses that are not outrightly scam, value their reputation more than anything. So, leaving the prize aside, won't the new purchaser face any issue because by buying you automatically inherit both the good and bad entanglements that comes with the account.

I know its confusing. But I do kindly explain to people that ask about the account.

You cannot withdraw or trade/invest with the 3commas balance. The balance is used to pay for the fees associated with the service. So if you understand that to create smart sells and smart trades using the interface they charge 0.25% of the total you are trading with.

"A commission of 0.25% of the amount of your transaction is charged for each Smart Trade or Smart Sell created. The use of infographics and portfolios, automatic balancing, in particular, is completely free." - 3commas

Say I own a $1000 dollars worth of TRX and I want to set a stop loss and take profit for my TRX using their service it would cost me $2.50. This is what the balance is used for.

If you trade in high volumes of money then the $10,000 dollar balance would be beneficial. But considering I trade with only like 2k it would take me a long time to use $10,000 dollars worth of fees.

"FYI: At present, the service credits $10 to an account upon registration, which is sufficient for testing and completing transactions with a total volume of $4,000" - 3commas

I'm pulling the quotes from their FAQ page "How much does it cost to use the service?" found here : https://3commas.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000228593-How-much-does-using-the-service-cost-

Don't get me wrong there are people using 3commas that are moving huge amounts of money and this account would be a perfect discount for them. The trouble is I don't know how to get my ad in front of those people! So I just posted on the big bitcoin forum and will let it float till it catches someones attention.

Again, if you won a campaign, they are bound to honour such agreement if you had meet the conditions and would not deny you your prize without a tangible reason as businesses that are not outrightly scam

Yes, I received and email from them saying I won the $10,000 and I was ecstatic. Jumping for joy. 8 hours later I get another email saying I will never be able to withdraw it and it is used only to pay for the service. I was very disappointed. I made the argument I didn't win any USD if I cant hold the USD in my hand. I realize now that they probably didn't actually give me any money. It was just key strokes in their program.

In the end... the catch is it would really cost you $10,000 dollars to achieve such a balance on your 3commas account so it still has value. Value to someone who will use the services with some real capitol.

Even though I didn't win actual USD I am still happy with my prize and grateful. You've got to be grateful and move on. So that's what I'm doing. Just waiting for someone to want a nice 3commas balance at a heck of a discount.

Good description?

Thanks for the explanation

1864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle tough times in cryptocurrency? on: March 08, 2018, 02:54:04 PM
We are indeed the tough times of trading or investment in cryptocurrency. After the ATH of Bitcoin last year, we are now at the stalemate at 10K USD mark for almost 2 weeks and no sign of going up. I was thinking to hold for as long as I can since I believe in crypto.

If you’re at the losing position what is the best thing to do?

At this time, since a losing position has already set in, there is nothing to be done than to manage it so I see only two options at this but what matter is the aftermath of the decision because that is where either happiness can set in or some unending guilt which might not leave for a very long time.

1. Set another lower point based on the amount of loss you can accommodate at this time and sell if its falling below that point.

2. Wait till the time that the market might take a positive turn of events of course this would seem very difficult especially if you are active on the forum where price panic is being posted here and there. But if you can close your eyes to checking the prices and set like a month to see things, you might be surprised on how price might have recovered.
1865  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT [READ BRFORE BUYING BITCOINTALK ACCOUNTS] on: March 08, 2018, 08:11:06 AM
Here's a thought. DON'T BUY ACCOUNTS PERIOD. Start your own account and build it up instead of buying an account and trying to get ahead here.

Unfortunately, I they wont listen. Even the Op that is crying foul now would have been aware that account sales is seriously frown at on the forum that is why they decide to operate outside the forum and also because they know that no reputable escrow would want to engage in that kind of deal and ruin all of his reputation, they skip that part which put the scammer in a position of strength to carry out his nefarious activities. If you want to help others you need to keep the thread alive by ensuring you paste his name every time he changes his username so another individual wont fall victim of this (but only those who will take their time to read though).
1866  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What Problems do new investors face when researching cryptocurrencies? on: March 07, 2018, 10:20:57 PM
We all know there is a wealth of information on the internet about cryptocurrencies, but how much of it is actually helpful? How can you trust the person you are receiving information from? And is all the spread of FUD making you even rethink any of your investments?

In order to help new crypto investors, we need to come together to create a place for them to trust the information they are reading and the people they are getting it from.

If you selected, “Other” in the poll, please reply with whatever else you think new investors face when researching and then finally investing in crypto.

Thank you

In addition to all of those problems you listed investors faced, the most important one is finding the truth because a well perfect scam plan is always designed in detail to check out and the stress of finding that is always killing. I took interest in a particular project at some time, and every names provided I traced to LinkedIn, Facebook and even websites where the people are mentioned in short, everything checked out and because I am an average user of the internet, I couldn't make a conclusive statement because despite all of this something tells me the project is an unserious one and it turn out to be so.
1867  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need help Coin Listing In Exchanges on: March 07, 2018, 10:13:19 PM

Hello Friends

i need help Coin Listing On Exchanges.

if you have already listed coin on Exchange . Pm me

thanks

Aside for the major forks that exchange sites by default compelled to support and because of their own selfish needs of encouraging users to leave funds on their site, they then declare support those fork coins.  Other than that, its increasingly difficult to get listed and its not something that is done via PM as several conditions needs to be met with the continued increase in the amount of coins that being launched in the market. The conditions are publicly available on any exchange site you wish to get listed.

While some would relies on votes, I have come across some that requires deposit of some amount of bitcoin (which is obviously not cheap), others would demand that you share the official ANN thread on bitcointalk among other conditions that needs to be met before proceeding. Do all of those, and you can get listed.
1868  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How on earth did I incur such high transaction fees? on: March 07, 2018, 09:24:59 PM
Actually... it would seem that you set the option of "Edit fees manually" checked, so you should be able to enter your own fees. I've just checked Electrum and its dynamic fee estimation seems to be pretty OK right now. Says only 12 sats/byte for confirmation within next 2 blocks, which is about right.

You mentioned that it says "Static" fees... so that's probably your problem right there. It probably kept a fee amount from your previous transaction? Just check "dynamic fees" and adjust the fee to your comfortable block time confirmation. Or, keep your current option and enter your own fee. You can always click Preview to check everything looks good.

Download the latest version now... and you'll see that there are only 2 options: Dynamic and Manual.

This is largely the most definitive explanation as to what could be the reason for this because even me, I yet to phantom how you would pay fees that is larger than what you intend to send. When the fees was on the high side sometime ago, its was just some high percentage of what is to be sent and not more than it talk less of when the traffic on the network is low and transaction fees are not high at all with reasonable confirmation time. What surprises me is that you should have gone through with such payment without asking because by default you should know its just out of the ordinary to lay such ridiculous high fee as you must be missing something.
1869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLAYSTORE and APPSTORE!! on: March 07, 2018, 03:01:37 PM
We are into gadgets, most of the people are addict on it.
We spent more of our vacant time facing our Cellphones and Ipads.

Playing games and downloading some apps on the store require payments, Is this the best time for those stores to open their payment method with cryptocurrency specially Bitcoin?

Its really a good idea and would even bring more awareness to the crypto industry but there are two issues that of concern in this

1. A lot of those applications are open source i.e what can be downloaded for free especially on PlayStore which if monetized, a lot of people wont be interested in whatever is being said to achieve and also for every app that is being paid for, there is a free version of it only difference is the ads part which could be annoying.
2. PlayStore and AppStore are both platforms that is being managed by companies Google and Apple. What is the attitude of these two companies to bitcoin as a currency. To the best of my knowledge, if they are not overtly critical of bitcoin, they are also not making their statement as an outright support for bitcoin which makes it difficult but the moment these companies accept, all their platforms will be activated to accept crypto.
1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bitch moved by the Chinese Regulators. on: March 07, 2018, 08:37:38 AM

Chinese regulators are reportedly blocking social media accounts held by cryptocurrency exchanges that still offer services in the country.

According to a report by Caixin today, authorities have shut down some exchanges' channels on China's dominant social messaging app, WeChat.

In one example, the official account of OKEx on WeChat has been blocked, while links to all previous content are now merely showing a notification that reads: [...]

It looks like that Chinese regulators are starting the 2nd wave of  their bitcoin/crypto attacks. I guess this news some somewhat affected the price in the last 48 hours as the price plummeted from as high as $11.5-$10.8 as of now.

Do you think they are now on the offensive because suddenly bitcoin is on the rise and they want to put the price to dip again and stop the hype train on its track?

This people are not just retiring in their moves against bitcoin and cryto in general as they are using every means to frustrate the penetration and popularity of bitcoin. I cant imagine they can go to the extent of blocking their accounts on social media, the next is for them to go to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram but what they dont is that for every means they block, there are making room for another one under the radar to come up and they are pushing those who want to legitimately to their business through that means.

On the effect on price, its sure that the recent dip wont be unconnected with this but I believe its going to be temporal as its normal for price to react, only to recover over a period of time and this wont prove otherwise as well we just need to hold still and contribute to the panic that might drive the price lower than what its already happening.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin still a good store of value <Safe haven>? on: March 06, 2018, 08:04:33 PM
Bitcoin would still remain a store of value for the next few years to come if the market is still largely based on speculative purposes as there is still room for new heights to be reached. To then compare bitcoin price and gold price to me is not considering other factors that differentiates them. Gold main purpose as we can tend it to be is solely as a store of value but for bitcoin, it encompasses both the attribute to be a store of value and a currency which means the attention to have been devoted to on one objective would then be shared with effect reflecting on price.

Aside the above, like you have said, the table turns which gives the hope that the table can still turn again to the advantage of bitcoin which is very much not impossible.
1872  Other / Meta / Re: What do we do with users like this one? on: March 06, 2018, 10:48:53 AM
Greetings fellas.
Here is an example of account of Full Member with 507 posts and 0 value at all, no questions asked/except the ones regarding the campaigns/ no contribution at all.
Bumping old and closed campaigns and generating activity by quoting his reports and nothing else.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1018434

I understand that 99% of the newbies accounts, registered now are only for the bounties, but is there any penalty for such activity?
Participating in sig campaigns is OK but generating posts by quoting or answering a threads without even read the OP or the comments it's just too much.
What to do with such users report them or just let them be?

This is a clear case of where the merit system will be put to effective use and why it has come to stay despite the deficiencies and complains that have greeted this innovation since inception. Not all users will be caught by moderators neither will all posts or users reported will be attended to because the moderators have tons of request to deal with on a daily basis. I am sure that if this merit system had been in place earlier, the user might not go beyond the position of a member or even a newbie. But one thing is sure now, if he does not change, he is not leaving that rank even if he has 1000 posts to be proud off and also sooner or later, campaigns will start requesting for minimum merit from the default.
1873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you support the Use of Bitcoin as a National Currency? on: March 06, 2018, 06:27:08 AM
While it is good news for Bitcoin users/hodlers that countries allow the use of Bitcoin as a means of transactions within their border, what will be your position if a country decides to take a step further by using Bitcoin as its national currency?

Unfortunately, when a country decide to take it further and make it a national currency, its then beyond the position of an individual as there is nothing else to be done for or against such move in short my position is of no relevance to the situation of things. The only thing to do is for me to key into the current position and that would be done after careful study of this new transition of financial relations.

My position would be revolved around to start by making my position known as a crypto enthusiasts as one of the earliest people to have been involved, carrying out consultancy for adopters who want to take advantage of this new way of life, setting up a fully crypto market place either for goods or crypto, and paying due to government as the needs arises.
1874  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Central Bank really have impact on bitcoin? on: March 05, 2018, 06:32:55 PM
are the price movements related to those speeches of the central banks such as the BOE?

Any action by the CBN have a way to influence bitcoin price but the extent of that influence depends on what is being done. If its by speech of CBN reps, it won't have much effect or a temporary one and even in my country, the Central Bank has issued a memo warning everyone against bitcoin but still bitcoin and crypto generally is still popular and continue to generate influence among the  youth.

If they then decide to go with actions and willing to go the extreme among which would include, banning of exchange accounts, compelling banks to stop making international transfer as it relates to cryto, transfer between customers within the same country with any notation of crypto, that would have effect on bitcoin price but because whether we admit or not, the banking industry has been a propelling tool for crypto.
1875  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent on: March 05, 2018, 07:35:59 AM
This is really a subject of discussion without any reservation because there are several people that are smart but not rich. While I admit that chance is a determining factor, but it has to be supported by being smart. I have not seen anybody who is rich that is not smart even if chance is going to be on his smart.

The issue is that there is no measurement of smartness and its not even on the basis of formal education. I have seen people who didn't even acquire university education employing people who do to keep their accounting records while those who didn't do well in formal education went out to become entrepreneurs to hire the bookies. It then mean that they might not be smart in formal education but smart in areas of business and the taking of risk.

In conclusion, I would agree that its a combination of the two and not just focusing on one to be the determining factor.

1876  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet 3.0.6 assistance please on: March 03, 2018, 02:40:32 PM
I downloaded the 3.0.6 version. That version does NOT function on my laptop w/OS Vista. Nor does it work on my HP laptop w/OS Windows 8.1
If you are getting error messages about "Python35.dll", you need to install the KB2999226 update for your OS. You can read and download the appropriate package from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

They have packages for Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 in both x86 (32bit) and x64 (64bit) flavours.

Question:  What OS will support the new Electrum Wallet version 3.0.6 ?
All the OSes listed on the download page... Windows, Linux and Mac OSX.

I have personally run it on Windows 7, Windows 10, Ubuntu 16.04 and Mac OSX "Sierra" 10.12.

I think I will have to try this option because I have been having problem installing and running the v3.06 all it does is to tell me something is missing from my computer "api-ms-win-crt-math-l1-1-0.dll" I have tried downloading from the internet but the same thing is still going on. And thereafter the Phython stuff. Would like to know if any other person have faced the same issue and how do you go about it?
1877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the benefit of cryptocurrency to startup developing and digital nomad ? on: March 03, 2018, 02:00:10 PM
I observe and found a lot of bounties that support project for startup and a lot of startup employees are digital nomad why they use crypto to develop their project? Thank You

According to Wikipedia Digital Nomads are "Digital nomads are a type of people who use telecommunications technologies to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner.[1] Such workers often work remotely from foreign countries, coffee shops, public libraries, co-working spaces, or recreational vehicles."

How do they use crypto? It means they can have workers spread across the world pursuing a common objective with limited cost and aside that, the have a common currency. Instead of the employer in the United States having to pay people in Japan, China, South Africa, Ghana, UK to change his US dollars to several countries taking into consideration the exchange rate of all of these countries and the transaction fees that would be paid. Crypto would stop all of this bureaucracy at a minimal cost.
1878  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Struggles to Pass $11K Amid Low Volumes on: March 03, 2018, 09:59:40 AM
In fibonacci analytics it has a big support on 10k ,now that i'm writing price is 11300$ , and i hope it pass it till next resistance around 12k , but volume is low , market need more money injection to grow , money is like blood in market vessel!

I understand you concern, how many times did we try to test $12,000 but then stumbled? So lets say that its a big resistance around it and we need to break that wall. The problem is that it will be difficult without fresh blood pumping the market. So for me, we need to waited it out, I'm sure that investors are still in this "reluctant" stage. But assuming in the next days or so that resistance goes down, it will be a good sign that the "reluctant" stage is also broken, new investors  willing to enter the market, pouring the needed cash to make a significant push to the next barrier which is $15,000.

The point is there would always be a barrier because naturally when we touch $15k the next we have to start looking at is $17k which by all means very correct. But relying on "fresh blood" to be the reason why such height can be attained is focusing on one side as the factor to determine price which is demand forgetting that another important factor has impact and that is supply.

Focusing on demand is something the current market cannot control because every massive means that could encourage such inflows is gradually shut down (example is the Facebook ban) but the supply is what we can control at the moment which if matched below the current demand level, then those resistance can be defeated conveniently.
1879  Economy / Services / Re: Scammed for $3000 by user: geheimdienst off LBC any help is appreciated/paid on: March 03, 2018, 06:55:06 AM
First of all, please move your thread to scam accusation board. Services is not the appropriate board.

How do you get scammed?
LBC has an escrow system to keep you safe from scammers.
Is that the scammer from your place? If yes then good, but if not then what is the use of contact info?

You just paid $3000 to learn a lesson Shocked An expensive lesson....  Roll Eyes

I don't understand why people cry over something they can avoid by all means necessary. LBC even the rate of scam is on the increase there, they have a system in place that if followed completely there is lite chance of falling victim but Op might have allowed himself to have been deceived to circumvent some of the rules because of reasons best known to the scammer.

There was a thread about this sometimes ago where comments and suggestions were raised about how to stay safe on LBC but that what people don't read until they are the next victim now you have to incur more amount to do the right thing. Let's even agree you found him and you are on the other side of the world the cost of meeting him along is on the high side and you are not sure he will be able to pay you, what exactly would you do?
1880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: government arrangement of taxes on bitcoin, would it be considered positive? on: March 02, 2018, 09:21:14 PM
I heard people trying to say that there are positives side on it because it is somehow protected under legal boundaries...

what do you guys think?

The only positive side I see to it is that people can then be free to talk about bitcoin or known to be associated with it. Today over here, your neighbor can be involved in bitcoin but you don't talk about because you don't know who he might talk to and with the level of low awareness about bitcoin, it can simply land one in trouble. But with government coming to tax it, it then means that there would be an huge sum of money dedicated for awareness purpose and the changing of orientation for those who are stereotyped about the issue without any option of changing and that is positive to the entire crypto space.
