2281  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-09-15] In the US conservationists want BTC to switch to PoS too on: October 01, 2022, 05:23:57 AM
@Betwrong. This is because their argument is bitcoin does not do anything productive for society except help criminality by making it much easier for criminals to launder their money, much easier to create drug dealing marketplaces in the darknet, much easier to pay for pedophilia content from the darknet and many much more negative reasons. In my own personal interpretation, if they are being used for those things, this good for bitcoin as a technology because it makes real peer to peer payments across the world much easier to do. I do not support criminality, however.

Sad... Watching it happen live was very sad... to see his fingers awkwardly distended after getting thrown to the ground, and then Al Michaels reporting he was told it was a "neurological response to head trauma"... oof. This is terrible and not good for anybody who has a stake in or just enjoys the NFL.

They say that some football players become violent because of some brain damage caused from head trauma. The NFL denied this.

Certainly... I remember what happened to Junior Seau and would classify that as a violent act.

Quote
Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest in 2012 at age 43. Later studies by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) concluded that Seau had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain disease that has also been found in other deceased former NFL players. It is believed to be caused by repetitive head trauma, and can lead to conditions such as dementia, rage, and depression.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior_Seau

The most common of violent acts that were done by retired NFL players that were reported were domestic violence and it appears that there is also a correlation between head trauma and depression which might also have caused the violent outbursts.

Ex-NFL Player Zac Stacy was arrested on Nov. 18 and charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief after a home surveillance video surfaced of him beating his partner, Kristin Evans.

Stacy is not an outlier, though. The NFL has long been plagued with incidents of players abusing their spouses or children. Since 2000, 134 players have been arrested for domestic violence and 15 for crimes relating to sexual assault, battery or solicitation, comprising 13% of all NFL arrests, according to a database by USA Today that tracks NFL arrests.
Intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crimes in the United States. For NFL players, domestic violence is the highest criminal charge at 55% of total arrests made.

However, as fans, do we want the NFL to change the game and create new rules on tackles? I do not like to watch flag football with helmets heheheheheh.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 30, 2022, 05:46:31 AM
^ Hehehe, we should take everything with a grain of salt specially coming from Bob Arum. He used to promote Crawford, and if he believes he can beat him, why he didn't set up the fight? The only reason I can see is that it's it's difficult to negotiate with PBC or there is not money to be made because he says that Crawford doesn't have that huge draw. And this is one of the main reason why Crawford left him, because of this comment of him, and assuming that time that Crawford is still with Bob.

I would agree that if compared to Errol Spence, Terence Crawford does not have a larger draw. However, if Spence and Crawford were in the same ring to fight each other, they would certainly increase each other's draw. Also, who is at fault if Crawford's draw is lower? I reckon it is the promoter's fault! This superfight would also not happen if Crawford has stayed with Top Rank.
2284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: September 30, 2022, 05:17:32 AM
I do not know how Do Kwon can make these types of replies in social media if he is in a red notice list by interpol and if the government is really looking for him.

There is no Interpol red notice for him:
https://www.interpol.int/How-we-work/Notices/View-Red-Notices

It's either that the SK police haven't issued an international arrest but a local one or they haven't yet notified Interpol about this, after all the proof about the notice is from journalist claiming this has happened without any link to an official source.

Yes it is beginning to appear that everything in the news that was published recently were exaggerations of the truth and it appears Do Kwon is laughing at everything with this comedy show from the Korean government. Do Kwon is also presently in Singapore. I am not certain if there extradition agreements between South Korea and Singapore. There might not be anything. This is why Do Kwon is walking in the mall to have lunch with Eric Wall hehehehehe.
2285  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-06-28] Bitcoin mining revenue mirrors 2021 lows, right before BTC breached on: September 30, 2022, 04:36:07 AM
There is a good news update for the bitcoin miners that might be having problems with their monthly cashflow or that might be in the beginning stages of bankruptcy. Jihan Wu and Bitdeer has created a cryptofund to buy their assets. I speculate that there will be more of this type of fund created to take advantage of these investment opportunities.

Chinese crypto billionaire Jihan Wu is setting up a $250 million fund to buy distressed assets from Bitcoin miners, as the industry reels from this year’s steep drop in digital-asset prices.

Wu’s Bitdeer Technologies Holding Co. plans to invest $50 million as part of a junior tranche, meaning the firm’s investment will be first at risk if the fund loses money. It aims to raise another $200 million from outside investors such as family offices, venture capital firms, alternative investment funds and other mining companies, a representative from Bitdeer told Bloomberg News.

With the industry in a slump, highly leveraged miners are selling assets such as mining rigs at a steep discount to better-capitalized peers. Prices for certain types of mining machines have dropped more than 50%. In one recent example, Bitcoin miner CleanSpark Inc acquired a mining Georgia mining facility as well as thousands of rigs from another miner, Mawson Infrastructure Group Inc.

“We can buy the cheaper machines and run them in our existing facilities with stable and cost-effective power power purchase agreements,” Bitdeer’s Kong said. “You’ll have the cash flow.”

2286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 30, 2022, 03:35:16 AM
@Hueristic. This is the beginning. There was a movie based on a true story about this with Will Smith. They say that some football players become violent because of some brain damage caused from head trauma. The NFL denied this.

If Tua takes the field tonight, it's a massive step back for #concussion care in the NFL.

If he has a 2nd concussion that destroys his season or career, everyone involved will be sued & should lose their jobs, coaches included. We all saw it, even they must know this isn't right

Source https://mobile.twitter.com/chrisnowinski1/status/1575578179581771776

In any case, if Tua is out for this whole season and this concussion negatively impacts his career. There might only be one choice for the Dolphins hehehe.

It appears that I might also bench one of my team's main players. Can anyone guess who he is? Yes, it is the easily injured Christian McCaffrey hehehehe. According to the news, Panthers headcoach Matt Rhule ignored all questions asking about McCaffrey's injury which might imply that it might be more serious than speculated. Hockenson is also questionable because of a foot injury.
2288  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-09-22] JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon slammed crypto and called BTC Ponzi Scheme on: September 29, 2022, 03:01:05 AM
Overall losses caused by DeFi exploits have totaled $12 billion so far in 2021, according to a report from xxx.
Fraud and theft accounted for $10.5 billion of that sum — a sevenfold increase from last year.
DeFi, or decentralized finance, products aim to replicate traditional financial services using blockchain.

Also, share the source of the article, I would like to read it. The article really said according to a report from xxx?

Are you so blinded by your persistent repetition (and even posting links) of something that has nothing to do with Bitcoin that you don't see that the link to the content is above the part I quoted? I have intentionally removed the name of the company that did the analysis because I don't want to promote anyone.

If someone wants to buy an NFT because he thinks it is beautiful for him and also speculates that there will be more value to sell it in the future and in a market that says what the fair market value is presently, do you not think that this is very much similar to bitcoin or any market?

You live in the belief that NTF and Bitcoin are something similar, but I will never accept that someone equates these two technologies and puts them in the same category. Bitcoin is primarily a decentralized crypto currency based on POW and has its own application as such, and the fact that you think that someone invests in something because it is beautiful has nothing to do with Bitcoin.

Are you familiar with the tweet that Jack Dorsey sold for $2.9 million as NTF, and today its price is 99% lower?

In December 2020, Jack Dorsey created a non-fungible token (NFT) out of his first-ever Twitter post. He turned a static image of a five-word tweet into a digital file stored on a blockchain, and voila, an NFT was born. A few months later, the image sold for a stunning $2.9 million. Yet in an auction this past week, no one bid more than $280 for it. And even current bids on OpenSea only amount to about $10,000, a 99% drop in value.

I did not notice the quote has the source hehe.

Elliptic? Why would you be afraid to mention it and be told that you are promoting it if you mentioned it? Is Elliptic a bad service or good service? It is not bad, I reckon. I am only curious why you did not like to mention it hehehe.

Did I say that I considerered bitcoin and NFT as similar technologies? I did not say it. I only said that there are similarities in their markets because they are based on supply and demand like all of markets. They get their value from speculative value. Nothing wrong with this.

Yes, I know that NFT. Does it make all NFTs and Defi protocols that make it easier to swap NFTs considered also scams? If dogecoin dumped 99%, does it make all of the cryptospace a scam?

Also, what is your defininition of a scam? Michael Saylor talked in a video when bitcoin was more than $50k. He said that we should mortgage our homes and buy bitcoin. If many people listened, they would presently be paying interest rates and their investments would be down more than 50%. Does this make Michael Saylor a scammer? My answer is no, however, this is only my opinion.
2289  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Banned on: September 29, 2022, 02:07:45 AM
@rat03gopoh. If those alternative domains or real, Kongxx should never use them. The Malaysian regulators has clearly said that Binance should be blocked already. The conditions are not coming from unclear regulations anymore. The regulators have become presently very clear that any Malaysian citizen should be blocked from Binance.

If Kongxx has only a few dollars in his account, he can take the risk. However, if it is money that he cannot lose, mk4 has made the best suggeestion.
2290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: September 29, 2022, 01:12:13 AM
I do not know how Do Kwon can make these types of replies in social media if he is in a red notice list by interpol and if the government is really looking for him. Him being in hiding and not cooperating might only be another exaggeration from mainstream media, Do Kwon has become crazy or he hired someone to use his social media accounts hehe.

2291  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Banned on: September 28, 2022, 02:45:06 AM
Even the Binance app cannot be installed on hp.

Here's Binance's customer support URL: https://www.binance.com/en/chat

If you can't even access the website, try using a VPN temporarily just so you can get in and talk to customer support.

Alternatively, here's Binance's customer support Twitter account: https://twitter.com/BinanceHelpDesk

@Kongxx. This is the best advice in the thread and it might be your only choice. The will process a withdrawal manually to your wallet. However, Binance support might ask you for more information about your identity. You should be ready and prepare your government issued identification cards and a monthly bill not older than 3 months.
2292  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 28, 2022, 02:11:58 AM
@STT. The whole cryptospace market has been showing that on 2021 the reality was the market was in a bubble ready to pop. Everything was pumped by using borrowed money through leverage and with much of the people having lost their money. The people who might have money will move out of the cryptospace and use it for their needs.

Also, those who want to bet on prices for hours up to a day are only the market makers trading against you. Do not trade in this type of market.
2293  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: September 28, 2022, 01:35:16 AM
It is reported that 3313 BTC that are associated with LFG started moving immediately after the request of the South Korean authorities made through Interpol for the arrest of Do Kwon, with Binance they were moved to KuCoin and OKX, writes coindesk Korea.

https://www.coindeskkorea.com/news/articleView.html?idxno=81514

They have 3313 coins after the failure of Luna? Why did they not use this to defend the peg? CZ tweeted that if Do Kwon and his team sold some of their bitcoins from the treasury and defended the peg much earlier when UST began falling to $0.97 or $0.98, the failure would not have occured and they would have saved the project. We can only speculate on his argument if it is right, however.

~snip~

You're shaking your head too much, and that's because of things that have already been proven negative for the majority of naive believers who, like you, are now comparing some famous art picture with the fact that some kid got rich selling pictures of himself in front of a computer as NTF? According to some analyses, Defi caused a loss of over $10 billion in 2021 alone, and for me that is a relatively large amount - surely nothing less will happen in 2022 as well.

You can continue telling fairy tales about what people should invest in if they want to get rich in the next bull run, but don't talk nonsense that this bull run will be caused by the fact that after 10 years someone will realize that NTF is something worth investing in.

If someone wants to buy an NFT because he thinks it is beautiful for him and also speculates that there will be more value to sell it in the future and in a market that says what the fair market value is presently, do you not think that this is very much similar to bitcoin or any market?

Define what a scam is because anything that is not bitcoin is a scam for much of the people who cannot accept that the cryptospace has become not only about bitcoin.

Are these NFT Defi protocols scams?

https://jpegd.io/
https://sudoswap.xyz/

Are Uniswap and Cakeswap scams? They did not scam anyone. Those protocols are working and make swapping without KYC much easier.

In any case, we cannot continue arguing if I do not know what is your definition of a scam.

Also, share the source of the article, I would like to read it. The article really said according to a report from xxx?
2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: September 27, 2022, 03:04:51 AM
Hello,

Is it possible and legal to open an online casino without a license?
I have heard that a license only allows to put users in confidence
What do you think about this?

If the technology is available, it is possible to create a simple decentralized gambling site very much to similar to simple Defi swap exchanges. However, similar to Defi exchanges, if it does not have a license then it will be considered to be subject to regulations by the government.

Confidence from users comes from trustworthiness of the company or service. I will use Defi exchanges as an example. Uniswap and Cakeswap are Defi exchanges that do not have licenses but they are very much trusted by much of the community.

@DireWolfM14. I am also watching the game and I am presently getting worried already hehehe. The Bombay Bengal's projected points is only 3 points away from my total fantasy points for week 3. It is very clear that another touchdown from Saquon or Elliot will give him the win for this week.

Also, if this goes to overtime, I will lose week 3.

Is Do Kwon really in hiding? I checked his twitter account and it appears that he has made some replies 8 hours ago unless he has a friend who is tweeting these replies for him hehehe.

https://twitter.com/stablekwon/with_replies

In any case, after the collapse and the dump, I am not quite certain why LUNA remains to be listed in the biggest and most trusted exchanges in the cryptospace.

News update.

I am not quite sure what the article is because it is paywalled, however, the title of the article implies that Jim Cramer is telling everyone that this worldwide bear market is presently not worse than the dotcom bubble and the 2008 housing bubble.

This market is not the dot-com crash or the financial crisis. Here’s how to play it

I am telling everyone that the cataysts for the next pump of the next bull market might be around NFT-Defi projects. They are very low market capitalized projects with much potential to increase. This is speculation and I speculate that the next storylines will be around NFTs.

As far as I was able to read, the history of NTF goes back to 2012, although they only started to be popular in 2017 - which means that a lot of time has passed, and accordingly they had their chance in 2017 as well in 2021. Honestly, all these projects make very little and almost no sense to me, but the masses behave completely irrationally whenever someone successfully sells them an overnight success story.

If you look at how many scams are connected to Defi, and how much money people have lost on various super projects, then I would conclude that the whole industry is only harming Bitcoin - let's just remember the scandal with Terra/Luna stablecoin which caused tens of billions of dollars in damage. Let's imagine that this did not happen and that at least part of that money was invested in Bitcoin.

Maybe then people like this banker would have no reason to call Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme, because the biggest trigger for such statements lies in disappointment in the market - and maybe the man simply lost a lot of money and is now telling a classic story like all the other losers.

If you are correct in your argument then anything that are works of art that are valued by their owners and a market willing to buy those works of art in fair market price would also not make sense to you. It is also head shaking that just because NFTs have existed since 2012, it should not be successful and not grow to more than a $100 billion market?

There are many scams, yes, and scams that are not only in Defi. They are in all of the cryptospace. Also, what is your definition of a scam? Is this any project that is not bitcoin a scam?  From this argument then we are no better than Jaime Dimon.

Another head shaking comment to blame other projects because there are mainstream investors and bankers like Jaime Dimon who call bitcoin a ponzi. They will call it a ponzi because it does not create any value and to get profit from it, the holder must wait for new money to come in then sell it to another buyer for a higher price.

@DooMAD. Agreed. However, we can complain everyday but they will always control the storylines, the scripts and the narratives. I reckon the only way for miners to get back complete control is to take mining away from their jurisdictions or mine bitcoin illegally.
