What 240v power cable can I swap onto https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817182320
(typical atx psu)

/ where can I find them -- these atx psu will auto adjust with upgraded input and run more efficiently powering my miners, correct?

Running the flat blade power cable  on 250v to atx psu rated 120-240v --- is this correct or a big mistake O_o

What kind of 250v outlet do you have? are you connecting to a PDU or right to a wall outlet? You can definitely plug any decent quality PSU into a 250v outlet but there are different kinds of cords depending on the specific setup.
Is there any real benefit to the PDU? with the setup I'm looking at making I don't see the purpose of a PDU as I can add more outlets at a lower expense than PDU, I don't have them yet but I'll need to have them installed this month, so i'm open to suggestions / best ideas from you all

I'm having this exact problem now on my pandaminer b3+
2283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: June 06, 2017, 12:58:09 AM
Do I have to make the USB bootable? Do the instructions provided on site not include that within the hdd program
the tool is doing everything for you ... just load the image as source and select the target device ... after flash its ready to use.
I was unable to boot it on the panda from bios though?

mh dunno what panda uses or how it works ... for a normal mining rig with normal motherboard it should work with enabled usb boot.

Trying again on a new USB, tytanick says he does not support pandaminer so if this doesnt work i'm SOL xD

I changed boot to it, and it still boots windows, even disabled the other 2 boot options, still booted windows

2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Caution! Pandaminers catching fire! on: June 05, 2017, 10:22:41 PM

no they are using 5 and splitting  2  into 4

so
1 single 18 gauge
 1single  18 gauge
 1 single 18 gauge

then a single 18 gauge that splits into 2 single 18gauge
then a single 18 gauge that splits into 2 single 18gauge

and every photo of every burnt  setup shows the melt starts by the split cables.

I mention that this psu should not be used long term more then one time in my review and that I went to a rosewill tokamak 1500 watt with no issues

Yeah, that's completely irresponsible engineering right there. Too few conductors with too few connections to the hardware. And with wiring like that, I seriously question their "1600W" unit is capable of anywhere near that mark over the long haul. If it is, it's a fire hazard because the cabling simply can't support it.

Stuff like this sickens me. This crap is going to burn someone's house down.

FYI, those Tokamak units throw a ton of EMI back into the power lines. I just pulled one out of my farm because I couldn't review power supplies with it running at the same time. Too much extra noise in the oscilloscope. They kill AM radio for a block, too. I have another 1200W Enhance Titanium doing the same thing which will also come out of the farm soon. Other than that, they are good units. I'd have just kept using it if I wasn't a power supply reviewer, but I hate shutting the rigs down just for load testing so I'm migrating to units that don't do that.
do you have links to your reviews? That's very cool.

@Vosk...Are you just posting the webpage address that your pic is on ?

You need to click on your pic and then "copy image location" and paste that into IMG tags.

Code:

ah. . .  I see now, I used to use photobucket for all this stuff but then I had to start paying 30 dollars annually due to bandwidth usage so I'm switching to imgur like most use here, rookie all over again xD I was just grabbing the copy link -- thank you

How many people are buying in and why would you say this is the best hosting option? I do not like hosting these pandas at home
2291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Caution! Pandaminers catching fire! on: June 05, 2017, 06:43:10 PM
This is why you have them hosted by Giga Watt, they are professionals and also do on site repairs. https://giga-watt.com/promo/prices

Do their ICO now and lock in 3.3c kwh for 50 years https://cryptonomos.com/?r=1H2MkmZnQak9mIc0NKCaddDsQ
I just glanced over it, if you buy into their ICO now, when would you be able to begin hosting? Do you have hosting with them currently?

What's everyones thoughts on genesis mining bitcoin mining contract? I ran the numbers on the 20 TH contract and it should be a solid 600 profit a month open ended contract, so 4-5 month ROI, charge a dollar a day maintenance fee at 20 TH, so 40 would be 2 dollar etc

I used my buddys code to bring it down to almost $2.5k, a lot of people talk negatively about it, but if you compare the numbers thats pretty solid with zero % hassle lol, don't get me wrong I'm about to working on building 2 more rigs but its nice to mix it up I guess.

What are everyone elses thoughts here? I've been on their Monero contract for a month now and earned 6 Monero, this BTC contract on todays rates is almost 2x as profitable it seems. If anyone wants 3% off you can use my coupon discount code for genesis mining = p7Yi4l

http://imgur.com/a/IlDYW

Screenshot of sliding purchase bar, price is before 3% discount applied. Their bitcoin contracts seem to come & go, it's been unavailable for the past couple weeks but available ATM.

Again this is a genuine post as a lot of good discussion takes place in this thread, but per the numbers the some rigs will make this same amount for a couple hundred bucks less? What do you guys think?

edit why do my images rarely work?
2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 motherboards fried trying to get a 7th GPU work on: June 05, 2017, 03:48:27 PM
i currently have a similar situation, mind you im running only 6 cards per machine (tb250-btc) and using a 4kw psu with a pico. i power the board and it burns between the cpu and the backplate (under the heatsink, vrm?), at first i thought it was a ground issue so i wired a ground from the Power Distribution Unit to a screw on a standoff to the motherboard. it powered fine (4 systems) then i got to the 5th and it fried, a pop sound then smoke etc. then i tried to power up the first system i did earlier that was working and it popped and burned. im stumped now... my option now is to take off the picos and power the boards with a 300w or so real psu and just power the cards from the 4kw but not sure if that is a great idea but i would know its solid grounded through the psu instead of make shift.. just to add im not plugging in molex plugs into the two aux connectors, would that make a difference? cause all 6 are on risers just like OP, 006c risers and powered with a pcie.
whered you get your psu from?

I have not read through this thread yet however I've been advised that smos works on the pandaminer b3+?

It worked on my batch 1.

I think I have a working  smOS  msata that I used.

Do you know if your miner uses an msata?
I can check when I am home but I believe it is, hoping to move away from windows!

I will look to see if I can find the spare.

zec + pandaminer + smOS = very stable for me.

apparently they've changed the motherboard settings but its still an msata?
2295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 05, 2017, 03:13:17 PM
That is 2 1070 katana
1 1080ti aorus
1 1070   msi gamer

I wanted to check the synch box to set all three   1070's together

It did not work well  the katana near hat big fat ass aorus would over heat.

So I did 4 settings for four card no synching more work.

All my builds now will be based on  the

GIGABYTE GA-Z270P-D3 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX

http://www.ebay.com/itm/381927411340?

with 2 identical  1080 ti's
and one 1070 itx

and an 850 watt psu
I get these as low as 95 dollars on a sale
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-Quark-Series-850W-80-PLUS-Platinum-Full-Modular-Power-Supply/172183274675?

these can expand with ease to 4 cards
compact
what 1080 ti's will you be using with the board?

2298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1080ti's: Better Options? on: June 05, 2017, 03:10:00 AM
Miningpoolhub. I just downloaded nemosminer with alexis 78. Same result as my setup from before, will test for stability until morning.
You should clean up with all those ti's coming your way  Smiley

EDIT: replied to your pm btw

Thanks for the PM I missed it. Settings look good I do same settings on clock and mem but my TDP is 75% not 100.

Have electrician installing the 30A next week so at least I can get a few more rigs online, then have to confirm with power company and city about a 200A upgrade. Then things will be a tiny bit better.
Where are you located and what's it costing for that, if you don't mind me asking xD

For what it's worth, to lessen your disappointment these pandas aren't the exact "home" miners I was envisioning. I didn't see anywhere of someone actually running it where I could hear how I think it'd really sound, the Pandaminer is ridiculously loud & it's underperforming for me currently
https://youtu.be/lOh6hgTRYBY

I have some time and a new PSU I will mess with it and post another video tomorrow if anyone is curious
Thanks for posting the video showing how loud it is. Do you have a separate room for you miner/garage? Don't suppose you have the ability to measure the sound level.
Ps. Congrats on finally getting a panda.

I could get a decibel meter and find out for you, noise fills up my entire house if the garage door is open... it's pretty loud lol
