2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer SCAM on: August 02, 2017, 02:13:03 PM
Reported! Reading the topic title I was afraid you got scammed by Pandaminer itself o.0

Well with their workmanship and business practices you kind of do get scammed lol but that's another story xD just ask elokk what he's been going through or anyone who's tried to get a replacement gpu

One local guy's motherboard failed and he trashed the whole miner and just kept the cards
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer SCAM on: August 02, 2017, 02:10:58 PM
Reported for you also.

Side note, you should watermark your videos of your channel/link in the video itself if you are worried in the future of this happening again. Or a copyright of some sort =)

Thanks everyone for reporting the channel, my videos do have a minimal watermark that he cropped out in the bot right

The material automatic copyright and his use doesn't fall under Creative Commons use etc
2044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Network issue, possible to use moca adapters? on: August 01, 2017, 04:48:35 PM
Can I setup actiontec moca adapters to run my coax Ethernet throughout my house to supply internet to normal items ex computer, iPhone etc and have it split also powering my miners?

I have it setup but it's not picking a coax connection no matter what I do

moca networks are tricker to setup.  it's complicated by the fact that where the modem is at, you would have to split it for the moca adapter, which could be detrimental to the modem.   on the other end, unless you don't have a tv in the room where you are putting in the other adapter, you would have to split that too, possibly affecting that.  depending on what kind of tv/data service you have, they might already be using moca for their devices (whole home dvrs, extenders for wifi)  Also, performance is going to be best if you put a moca filter right before the split between all the moca devices.

powerline adapters are easier....just installed a pair today!

Do i need to add anything additional to increase their performance? Yeah as you said I thought moca would be a bit more simple to setup , hopefully powerline adapter is what i anticipated from moca lol

which pair did you use and whyd you choose to use them?

2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [New ANN] HUSH Secure Private Messaging and Transactions [Equihash] on: July 31, 2017, 02:46:01 AM
So why exactly would anyone use hush over zcash

This is a real question not trolling, they seem to be identical with a different team behind hush?
2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: July 31, 2017, 02:43:39 AM
Do you know "where" the 5% are taken from ?  The more I stack the more i should return interest right ?

They are new coins, generated not taken from anywhere. The more you stack the more coins you will receive though the rate remains the same.  To get slightly more than the 5% redeem your interest often to take advantage of cumulative compounding.

Is this the process of "staking" or "minting"? does Komodo use PoS?

It's a innovation of Komodo. You gain these rewards all the time, and it doesn't create blockchain bloat.

Komodo is PoW (equihash), and it has dPoW consensus built on top of it.

What are the interest intervals ?

How often can you redeem said interest?

Interest rate is 5% and it will accumulate for 1 year, after which you should move the unspent transaction (UTXO) to claim the interest.  You can claim more often to compound the interest. I believe komodo will continue to generate interest until all the coins are issued.

You can redeem interest once an hour if you are willing to pay for the transaction fees.

So if you're actively accumulating say 10 Komodo a day, what is the ideal redemption timeline

Also how do you use this feature?
2053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 31, 2017, 02:32:53 AM

simply not worth 2899

3 card 1080 ti.

I paid 770 for the evga 1080 ti
I paid 703 for the zotac 1080 ti mini
I paid 665 for the asus 1080 ti
I paid 121 for the 850 watt quark  psu

this is 2259  you can get 1 stick of 8gb ram for 61 and a usb 3 stick for 30 that is 90
this is   91
total   2350   plus 50 for a lowed cpu
             50
total   2400     and you can do 2000- 2100 sols  vs 2000 sols  smaller space  use about 600 watts vs 800 watts

mobo 100

2500

I did over kill

I paid 100 for a mobo
I paid 200 for 4 8gb sticks of ram  only need 1 stck
I paid 150 for an i5 7500t cpu  = overkill
I paid   70 for a 1tb hdd
I paid   30 for a win 10 key

this is 550
plus  2259
total  2809   with way more power then the  prebuilt
or 2500  with more power but not killer.

with way still much cheaper then the prebuilt and the 2899 they want does not include shipping

Probably around 2899 USD -- similar to this

Anyways.... the Pandminer episode left a bitter taste - no nightmares like that again...

BW.com hops into to the graphics card mining train with BW-E22 Miner.
Any thoughts?
Seems quite powerful.
It can be found at their Chinese main page.

DDR: 4G DDR3 SO-DIMM
SSD: 64G high speed solid state hard drive

Operating system: WINDOWS 10 / LINUX
Chassis Size: 468mm X 341mm X 133mm
Calculus ETH: 140Mh / s soil 10%, single card 23 Mh / soil 10% s

it is all about price

what do they want for it?

My 3 card 2x 1080 ti    and 1 x 1070  would kill it mining zec.

My newer 3x 1080 ti    would kill it  a bit harder doing zec.

Why 8 gb vs 4gb?

I have been reading about Komodo and I'm curious to hear anyone's answer to this

If you were explaining Komodo to a new user, who has a basic understanding of crypto but knows nothing of Komodo

How would you explain it to them?

And

Why should they choose Komodo over say BTC, ETH, or ZEC

Phillip,

Look at the MSI 1080ti Armor, there is proof on the gamer forums that they are the exact same products with different fan design and decoration with just a different bios..

Do you have a link that's interesting O_O

2060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How to Build a GPU Mining Rig - Easy DIY thanks to Phil - "Trio" 1080 TI + Mini on: July 28, 2017, 07:07:21 PM
https://youtu.be/fOzz6YFSNxE

Video and description goes over the trio build created by Phil here on bitcointalk, these rigs rock and use as few parts as possible. Many users have built these rigs as their first rigs with no issues on startup due to the awesome design, information here on BTCtalk, and the incredible nvOC software by fullzero. Hope this helps!
