1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0019 on: September 02, 2017, 02:31:55 AM
For those using the ASRock H110 BTC+, is there an easy way I am missing to know which slot is assigned to which GPU#? I know the PCI-E 16x slot is GPU 0, but what is the naming convention for the others?
run
Code:
nvidia-smi
in guake terminal it will give you Bus-Id

Code:
lshw
will give you more details too

Thank you so much. I am not sure these commands quite get me what I am looking for, though I may be missing something.

In my setups I have 13 GTX 1060 GB cards. I am hoping for some way to figure out which one is 0, which is 1, 2, 3, etc. Not sure if those reports show any type of serial number that ties out to something on the card or otherwise, or if the physical slots always assign in a certain way when all full? Still realizing that 0 is the 16x slot, I am ultimately hoping to "catalog" my cards to keep track of how each overclocks.

In windows is impossible cause your GPU number change after each reboot, in linux is another hand.
GPU number is linked from hardware so a basic GPU0 is your primary x16, GPU1 is the slot on top on x16 is u have one, and for all other u just follow build sequence.
M2 slot will always be last GPU number from top to down like pci port.

Thanks so much. Not 100% sure I follow; based on what you said, would it be like what I am showing in blue, red, or some other pattern I am not thinking of?

For me it would be blue path Wink
What's the max gpu nvOC can support ?

this is such a great coin. i want to make a zencash pool to support it.. but, i have noticed that someone is making a flood attack on the network...is just putting too much hashpower , takes several blocks and fucks off leaving us with a incresed difficulty..and repeat..again and again..stupid dickfuck
Does this effect only the miners on that pool or does that ramp up the difficulty across the network?
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0019 on: September 01, 2017, 11:00:52 PM
Hi Fullzero thanks for your effort - i am looking to load up v0019 soon on my 13x board.

question for you - is there a way i can create a scheduled system restart ever 48 hours in ubuntu?

You dont need reboot like windows but there is an option in 1bash
I have ubuntu servers running for over 3 months without restart

Code:
AUTO_REBOOT="NO"

    REBOOT_TIMEOUT_IN_MINUTES=1440  # once every 24 hours

change it to what you like

Should these rigs be rebooted ? Is that recommended or a waste of time basically

Possible to mine nicehash equihash only?

When will KMD be integrated?

Guide to add  KMD

Code:
COIN="KMD"

Add coin details

Code:
KMD_WORKER="xxxx"
KMD_ADDRESS="xxxxxx"
KMD_POOL="kmd.suprnova.cc"
KMD_PORT="6250"

Add this to 3main file in right place:

Code:
if [ $COIN == "KMD" ]
then

if [ $EWBF_VERSION == "3_3" ]
then
HCD='/home/m1/KMD/v3_3/miner'
fi

if [ $EWBF_VERSION == "3_4" ]
then
HCD='/home/m1/KMD/v3_4/miner'
fi

KMDADDR="$KMD_ADDRESS.$KMD_WORKER"

screen -dmS miner $HCD --eexit 3 --fee $EWBF_PERCENT --pec --server $KMD_POOL --user $KMDADDR --pass z --port $KMD_PORT;

if [ $LOCALorREMOTE == "LOCAL" ]
then
screen -r miner

BITCOIN="theGROUND"

while [ $BITCOIN == "theGROUND" ]
do
sleep 60
done

@fullzero I'm getting prepared all the coins (stuck with cryptonight algo coins ATM), will share once its ready.

I have a question, what coins can we mine with ethminer (all 3 versions 11, 12dev, genoil) ?

Can we mine any ethash coin using ethminer?? My point is when we mine any ethash like EXP, UBQ, MUSIC, SOIL its better mine then with 0 fee uing ethminer?

I've tried to mine SOIL, but no success so far with ethminer, if someone succeeded using ethminer for any ethash, can you please share your 1bash and 3main, would like to integrate it with my version.

Thanks.

Thank you for this

Zen is fork of zerocoin right? Then what is the state of growth plus is Zen dev also involve in zclassic?

We often see new cryptocurrencies being created due to hard forking an existing project. One of the latest projects to do so goes by the name of ZenCash, a privacy-centric coin which is directly hard-forked from ZClassic, which is a fork from ZCash. Now would be a good time to compare all three cryptocurrencies and see how they are different from one another.

3. ZenCash

Although ZenCash was only recently introduced to the world, the token has gotten quite a lot of attention already. ZenCash focuses on privacy, and represents an “evolved form of ZK-SNARK technology.” It is a direct hard fork from ZClassic, a currency we will discuss in the next paragraph. One feature that makes ZenCash attractive to people is how it offers a protected communication protocol known as ZenTalk. Users can exchange short messages through this network, all of which is powered by blockchain technology.
ZenCash has a maximum coin supply of 21 million, which is the same as Bitcoin. The governance of this project will be done through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization structure, which is funded by a portion of mining rewards. The DAO will also fund future developments and look for additional partnerships. People interested in a more technical explanation of ZenCash can check out the whitepaper.

2. ZClassic

The ZClassic currency – listed as ZCL on exchanges – is a fork of ZCash. The goal of ZClassic is to remove the 20% fee associated with the ZCash technology. The developers of this fork feel miners should not receive smaller rewards just because the developers need additional money to keep evolving the project. Instead, ZClassic issues the full block reward to miners and aims to have development funded by the community itself.
Moreover, Zclassic was designed in such a way there is no deliberate scarcity. That is quite different from ZCash, which seems to thrive on issuing fewer coins during the early stages of the ecosystem being embraced by enthusiasts. ZClassic is the first major fork of ZCash, although it is unclear if other forks may make an impact on the cryptocurrency ecosystem over the coming months. There will be 21 million ZClassic coins.

1. ZCash

Most cryptocurrency users have heard about ZCash before. This particular cryptocurrency is well known for a strong focus on privacy, while still allowing for specific transactions to be completely transparent. There is a fixed supply of 21 million coins, similar to Bitcoin. However, the number of coins is distributed at a much slower rate from the start, which creates artificial scarcity. Moreover, it appears 20% of the block reward will automatically be deducted for future development of the protocol.
The main reason people are attracted to ZCash is because of their use of zk-SNARKS to protect the amount and recipient of transactions. It did not take all that long for ZCash to become one of the top-twenty cryptocurrencies. It is also worth mentioning ZCash was initially called Zerocash, but the name was changed later on. Make sure to check out the official Zerocash whitepaper, as it contains a lot of technical information regarding this project.
awesome post, very informative

How would you compare the zk-SNARKs family to Dash and Monero?

1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: September 01, 2017, 04:21:13 AM

many people want 8-12 gpu they used to do 6.

me 2,3,4 riser free.

I got the ryzen 1800x  as it does hash the shit out of xmr.

I am tempted to buy a thread ripper 24 core  cpu miner and this board

but this would be more money  it will fit 4 waterblock cards easy  and the nice cpu

but my build  will do the lesser cpu rzyen 1800x and 3 easy water block cards.

I haven't seen mention of any low-end AM4 processor miner builds like the Biostar TB350-BTC Pro along with an AMD A6-9500.

Is there no interest in 6-GPU platforms any more?   Under $200 for MB & CPU.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B074BGXW9T/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1504224804&sr=1-1

Phil how would you recommend expanding out your 3 card builds

Would you leave one card? 2 cards? On the board and what's the best riser to be used with them in your opinion

What's your opinion on the stability of the rig after adding riders onto the gigabyte D3 270

have you ordered from them before or know anyone that has?

For equihash / Zec

What are the best settings, current just at +100 core

Cards run in a 70-90f environment

I will add more 1080 ti's for the next three months

What kind of price are you gettting your 1080Ti's for?

 Newegg usually has at least one card on sale at $699 (most commonly the Gigabyte Windforce model).

 If you're running riser rigs, though, I'd recommend paying a little more for the Aorus as it's noticeably higher performance and cools a lot better.

I see two different aorus models on their site, any input on that?

I owned this I did not like it I sold it.

water cooled don't know if I would like it

water cooled needs radatior and pump

I am not a big fan of gigabyte aorus
cards  but I love the aorus mobos.
Why did you not like it?
Also Phil what is your recommendation in turning your 3 card design into a 6 card

I guess it comes down to add2psu vs server PSU w/ mobo adapter (parallel miner)

What's your recommended riser / anyone here have a good connection for a quality riser @ good cost
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 28, 2017, 02:35:54 AM
I completely forgot that I have a RX370 (Asus Strixx) that I have decommissioned last year (its was a low performer in ETH and ZEC) - I wanted to sell it off but got very low bids for it then forgot about it.... recycled her mobo since its a H81.... I think the RX370 will have a new lease of life mining Monero.

400h/s per card maybe possible on this card.

x 8 Asus R7-370 4GB

= 3200h/s ?!!

I wonder if GTX-750ti (I think less than 100 bucks) can be re-purposed for a mean low-cost XMR mining machine or 1050ti hmmmm ?

@cvsea,

Use sgminer-gm v5.5.5-NH, I use smOS

3500h/s = 6 x RX 470-4GB Gigabyte G1

1230/core and 1650/mem (cranked up the core, but lower the memory clocks)

Note: these cards are BIOS-modded for ETH mining.

I have a 1050 ti  I will let you know.  I liked the results so I ordered 2 of these they are on sale

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500411

144.99  sales ends in 5 hours.

I am going to be doing that  amd build  on this mobo.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157757&cm_re=asrock_x370-_-13-157-757-_-Product

I will do 4 cards with it mining xmr and use the 1800x to mine xmr.

goal will be

800 = cpu
800 = 1080ti
600 = 1070
300 = 1050 ti
300 = 1050 ti
Ive caught up on the thread and I must say, very curious about a dual socket CPU xmr miner! Lol

Anyone happen to use ETC + Jaxx?  I've not been able to send ETC in over a week, both on Android and Windows.  It just says "transaction failed'.  Missed a (very slight) run-up in ETC this week because of this.
Try a very small amount. I had this same issue when I used to jaxx, it was with dash. You may be experiencing the same issue. I contacted their support and they said dash was fine xD I sent my dash out in pieces but couldn't send all or even vast majority of it
