2301  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What are your steps for digital privacy? (here are mine) on: June 02, 2018, 11:22:13 PM
I think it's interesting to ask here, since generally people on this forum are probably at least slightly "technically competent" than the average person.
I don't think so. May be some of the hire rank members are but rest are not tech savvy. You are making things complicated for them when you are saying using Linux and stuffs.

Have you ever used https://duckduckgo.com (?) Use it instead of Google.

Anyway use VPN or tor browser. You are anonymous.  Grin
2302  Other / Meta / Re: Posts number on: June 02, 2018, 10:52:50 PM
I checked the number of posts and found a difference between the visible number per user and the actual number.
The number appears to be true for my account but is wrong for some accounts."If we ignore posts in Serious discussion/ Ivory Tower / mods"

 - KingScorpio:        number of Posts:  3015      actual number 3047
 - BillyBobZorton:    number of Posts:  3211      actual number 3106 3211
 - Jet Cash:            number of Posts:   4007     actual number 3792 4190
 - Theb:                 number of Posts:   1805     actual number 1771
 - d5000:               number of Posts:   4610     actual number 4509 4610

and more.
check it

Do you know...
1. Posts do not get counted in Serious discussion section
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion
2. Both Posts and Activity do not get counted in Ivory Tower section.
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion > Ivory Tower

- Posts in Serious Discussion only activate a potential-activity period. They do not increase your post count.
 - Posts in Ivory Tower neither activate a potential-activity period nor increase your post count.

For this reason you are seeing the difference between their number of posts under their username and actual number of posts on the post history page.  Smiley

Sorry I did not see the last part of your first paragraph.

I made some corrections and seems like we both have different results. Can anyone else confirm their numbers for the mentioned users?

You need to account for deleted/hidden/removed posts
But it should show the same number for everyone in the history page. Isn't it?
2303  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers earn money using your account on: June 02, 2018, 10:46:18 PM
For the signature, if the manager cannot see that, he will count the other accounts and he will send money to their addresses. I saw there are such managers doing that for himself, so he is registering fake names and he is approving them and send money to his ETH addresses.
Ok in that case this is worse. Seems like I am the dumb one LOL

I never thought that a manager will not manually count the posts. Isn't it his job? How do they get the job at the first place? If these managers are doing this then they are literally playing (bad one) with their employers (ICO companies). This is not morally right.
2304  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers earn money using your account on: June 02, 2018, 09:52:21 PM
So be careful, some people earns money over your account.

.
The spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1__2QYnVNEXUXBpp6-pwgNSRciooFu99aKIOff9dzeYA/edit#gid=1567602394

The question is what users can do to prevent this?

Wait something is not write in your logic.

You are wearing Tradelize's signature. On the image (http://prntscr.com/jq2amp click and see the arrow and compare with the current spreadsheet) I can see three tesla80. One is definitely you (12, looking at the current spreadsheet entry) the other two (28, 31) you are saying is not you. Say even the manager is not too dumb to identify the multiple entry for (say the others) the same user but when he will count the posts, don't you think he will notice it? He will be going to see every post 3 times LOL. A dumb won't be that much dumb not to notice it.

#Additional Case: You have not applied for the sig campaign...
You are not wearing the signature so the scammer will not get paid if he made an entry under your username

PS: I wonder is that really anyone else who entered the data at the first place? Logic does not back it up.

The question is what users can do to prevent this?
There will be such case, so nothing needed to prevent it  Smiley
2305  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading signal become a smart scam!!! on: June 02, 2018, 09:25:50 PM
We get scam because we are very lazy. We didn't try to research or analyse crypto market. We only depend on other.
Well here you have the reasons and I think these lazy people deserve it. Brain dead people are no useful for the community.

PS: Meta is not the right section for your topic. You may consider moving the topic to an appropriate section. Scroll down a bit then look for move topic

I'm also looking for feature requests and content creators. Will update the thread with more information soon but please PM me if you are interested in being a part of this!

Not the right section mate.  Please feel free to move...

By the way, welcome to the forum. Good luck with the finding.
2307  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to get certain own topic deleted? on: June 02, 2018, 08:46:38 PM
its about this topic

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3254613.msg33895634#msg33895634

i created it in a drunken situation where i got angry about the negative side effects of the merit system.

(note i am a very deeply considering person)

i have locked it how can i move it to the archive.

Good to see people are learning and adopting with merit system. The forum is a much better place now.

PS: If my memory serves me right then you have another topic which also had a negative vibe about merit. You wanted to award merit for writing blog article for you. You might consider taking care of that too?
2308  Other / Meta / Re: Can BTT start its own news channel in local countries? on: June 02, 2018, 08:42:11 PM
This site is a forum made up mostly of computer scientists, crypto enthusiasts and business people.
Also, we are not bunches of jokers. Entertain is not our things. Let the Hollywood to look after it.
@OP why are you trying to snitch their (Hollywood) bread and butter?  (LOL)
2309  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Would you do KYC for a bounty hunt? on: June 02, 2018, 08:32:36 PM
I am a bit scared that  some ICOs and recently a well-known bounty management group have decided to ask for KYC for bounty hunters. For me, that puts me on the spot of choosing if I want to risk to send my documents on line for not much money or just decide that I should not do any bounty.

The worst thing is that sometimes the KYC is asked after the promotion is done. For me that is just blackmail. What would you say if I agree with you to pay you 300$ to paint my fence and once you finish I decide that I will only pay you if you give me your address, copies of your documents and a picture of your wife or husband.

If you don't like it then walk out. If you think it worth giving your KYC details then go for it.

What comes first to you?
The promise of the money or your anonymity?
You need to know your priorities.
2310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is this the bitcoin forum problem generally on: June 02, 2018, 08:27:34 PM
When ever my posts and activities reach 31 my profile goes back to 28 hence my profile goes back to aNewbie position.what does that mean?
Yeah... theymos added a special code for you...

Code:
if ($u=="2037620" && $activity==31){
       $activity = 28;
}

$u is userID for the system
$activity us your number of activities  Grin

By the way, TryNinja had your answer.
I was just making fun

PS: Nice username by the way.
2311  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Switching from fiat to virtual assets. on: June 02, 2018, 01:54:27 PM
I'm comfortable with B2evolution, and it seems to do the job for me. For some reason, I've never liked WordPress. I created a couple of sites, but I took them down.
Like I said on the other topic... Old school phobia Tongue (Just kidding mate)
By the way good luck with the domains.

I've got too caught up in the BT merits dramas. I need to get out more. Smiley
Good luck again (LOL)

2312  Other / Meta / Re: Demand for sig managers on: June 02, 2018, 01:41:49 PM
But on what criteria and who gets to decide which manager is 'anti-spam' or 'competent', or has enough 'experience'? What happens if managers like Darkstar don't meet the criteria because they haven't run many campaigns (even though in my opinion he is probably running the best campaign right now in terms of spam management and reputation)? Who gets to say managers like Sylon won't be involved and what is the criteria for not including him? I'm sure sylon and many others will argue they should be on there and him being terrible as a campaign manager is just my opinion. In what order are they going to be listed? Most trusted? Person who has ran the most campaigns? All these just lead to more questions and issues and this is the trouble with centralised lists. A list with 20 campaign managers will probably include ones far worse than sylon as well (or even worse, turn out to be scammers).
I think you have a valid point here. A centralized list will create a lot of issues like:
#A cold war in between the not listed service providers with the person maintaining the list. There will be some service providers who will have valid reason to be added in the list. Who will justify issues like this?
#Service providers in the lists will start computing with each others which will result in lowering the payouts for projects. i.e: all these freelancer bidding sites
#Sure this will (lower payout) also impact on compromising the service quality.

There could be more... But actually we don't know about the possible outcomes until we try. So, lets see how it goes first.

update: That's a coincidence @hilariousetc. After posting this, I just noticed you sent me a merit on my other post. The timing will definitely make digaran to say that I am your slave although I ignore his/her comments.
2313  Other / Meta / Re: When does the "All" button show up? on: June 02, 2018, 01:24:27 PM
Certain threads display a "all" button which shows you all of the replies on one page. This is inconsistent and doesn't always show up. I'm wondering if I can view threads on one page by adding a code to the url?
If the number of pages under x amount then you will see the [All] link next to the page numbers. Like this:

As you can see this post has 6 pages of replies so far: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4104852.0;all <===working since right now it's 6 pages

On the other hand when the pages are too many then you do not see the [All] link.

and even adding ;all value in the url also does not work:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0;all <===not working since too many pages.

Now, I do not know the value for the x. May be theymos or any other member who noticed it before they will know.

Also would I be able to do the same for a users post history?
- In the post history there are no such feature.

The reason not to use the [All] (when there are too many pages) is...
When you will have too many data to retrieve from a table, the server then uses too much resources which can hang the whole system.
For a web application it might end up time out error (504 status error) in the client side. So, no system administrator will do that poor system design.
2314  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers earn money using your account on: June 02, 2018, 12:30:47 PM
Hello everybody,

I just want to inform you once again that there are scammers who use other's account name in bounties.
Here is in one picture 3 different tesla80 are exist. The other 2 are scammers who copied my profile URL to the bounty sheet.
It's good that the bounty manager finds them easily, but not every manager is good like him/her.
So be careful, some people earns money over your account.

https://i.hizliresim.com/r1d447.png

The question is what users can do to prevent this?

I can not see the image even copying/pasting it in my browser. Would you care to upload the image in https://imgur.com. I am pretty sure same is going to happen for other members too.

Thanks
2315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Please lock this account, this is a fake account on: June 02, 2018, 12:28:05 PM

This is not the correct way to do it. Feel free to read this: Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly)

I assume you are trying to report the project, right?
2316  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Switching from fiat to virtual assets. on: June 02, 2018, 12:24:32 PM
I've got nearly 600 .com domain names, so 'best' becomes a relative term.
That's an insane number. I assume you are keeping them to have a good price in future. Are you personally advertising the names in one place or just left them the way they are hoping that someone will contact someday to buy. I am just curious how you are maintaining them. There are yearly renewal fees for them also. How do you manage that as well. It definitely cost you a lot for renewals.

I went through a phase of thinking I needed half a dozen names for every project that I 'almost' started, but I've put four on Talk Merit, and this is probably a better idea. I did consider using Drupal as a CMS for all of the projects, but it is easier to set up each project using a dedicated CMS.
https://upr8.com/
https://foxfoo.com/
http://namestag.com/
https://buyany.com/
These are the four domains?
I see on the buyany you have the list of some more domains. I am just trying to figure out the basic idea of how you maintain them by exploring the pages.

By the way I am not sure what is that holding you back to use wordpress CMS. Comparing the current tech stuffs, WordPress is the best in every aspects than any other blogging CMS out there. I am sure most of the developer/designer who know about website developing/design stuffs - they will also vouch for WordPress. I am pretty sure you are missing something.
2317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bct account locked?? on: June 02, 2018, 12:05:42 PM
I want to ask about locked accounts.

If There is someone login to my bct account, then he login. Changing email And my password.

There is an email notif from the forum if it can lock the account.
The question I am, how to reopen the account? Because email & password has been replaced by "hackers"?

Thank you if Anyone is pleased to explain to me.

Are you asking to know the answer or you are asking because you have a main account and the main account got locked?

If the 2nd guess is correct then this is a meta topic. Feel free to move it to the meta section.
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Meta

Here is your answer:
Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
2318  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Switching from fiat to virtual assets. on: June 02, 2018, 10:50:50 AM
You might be thinking of this page -
http://crypto-bounty.kat1.com/bitcointalk-beggars/
Yes correct.

It looks as if I may have undersold the name, as it is now listed for sale at Undeveloped. I'll watch the entry to see what happens. I'm not too stressed about it though, as i did make a profit of 10,000%. Smiley
A hack lot of people are looking for cryptobounty name especial the .com
It was a good choice to buy indeed.
Is this one your best shot so far?
2319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: UPDATED : Merit on: June 02, 2018, 10:19:33 AM
I am always making high quality posts ( sometimes it took me a lot of time ) because I am aware that it is the only way to get merit and upgrade my membership , however it seems that no one have noticed them. I think besides a good post you should choose the right topic/time/..in order to attract the maximum of readers.
What do you think guys ?

Let's forget about any other variables like time/having enough sMeits to send/visibility etc. I went though your post history and really had hard time to find a single post to send merit. I am pretty sure that I am not missing anything.

Do you understand your efforts are not enough to get merit yet? I suggest you to spend more time on the forum and follow few members who achieved good amount of merits since the system launched.

You do not need to create these types of topics to earn merits. Merits will follow today or tomorrow you if your topics are merit worthy.

Hope the suggestions help.

Good luck.
2320  Other / Meta / Re: What is trust in my profile details ??? on: June 02, 2018, 09:04:39 AM
There is one option trust in my profile details. That is positive or negative in front of that.

Can anybody tell me ,how can I get the positive trust. There is any benefit for getting +trust like merit.

Marketplace trust
Let me know if that's help. Don't bother about untrusted feedback. Trust is kind of feecback. If you have positive feedback from the DT members then it's a good thing.
