2301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Energy Consumption Myths on: November 01, 2020, 09:12:04 AM
See the thing is there are numerous resources but until and unless you are not going to use renewal sources of energy you won't be able to state the fact one as a myth. You should understand that Bitcoins does use energy and it's completely true to say that it causes global warming ... Most of the miners are using electricity as a source of energy. In the future ofcourse this will be fixed...since we won't have to mine more and at the same time it would it only be used for transactions, their confirmations.

Plus we have to realize that people have to start using renewable sources of energy along with the normal electricity to make it work....

One must realize where they are living them go ahead as see what they can use, at some parts it would be wind energy, at some parts it would be solar energy. It's all different.
2302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: October 31, 2020, 06:09:44 PM
I've posted about this hardly 24 hours ago and concur: Bitcoin is a project built on libertarian ideas, so it really doesn't matter what North Korea, Iran, or the US or whatever national bank are doing. This coin was invented to survive independently from whatever "establishment", "government" or "powers" might be in charge now or in the future.

But sure, I can imagine these things might have an influence on the price, because many investors (and probably 90% of this forum's community) couldn't care less about the idea behind this project, but only care about its price going "to the moon". Therefore many of them still think in a classical way of investing fiat money in stock exchanges etc, thus buying or dumping depending on what they've heard or read on some news website.

But despite that government does have an  influence over the price if bitcoins , the number of people that would be using it for the long term , since they can very easily ban bitcoins and which would not only decrease the market value but it would also make it harder for people to trade and even own.

Just how the Indian government banned bitcoins before and then lifted the ban , then again thinking of banning this , many governmental bodies are causing problems for the people. They usually cannot access their bank accounts if they are using bitcoins trading services and wallets.

Thus I do believe that government and the elections definitely have an influence over bitcoins , if the person who will win the elections is a pro Bitcoiner it would not only be beneficial for the people but as a whole help the crypto to grow.

So elections might help us.

They definitely cannot control the cryptocurrencies but they can limit the number of people using it.

2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin price rise affect your gameplay? on: October 31, 2020, 04:25:13 PM
Hey guys,

As we all know, the Bitcoin is experiencing a decent price increase and it is slowly but steadily rising every day. Has it affected your gameplay somehow?
Some gamblers think if the price is so expensive it would be difficult to get profits.

How about you?

Cheers,
Karl
Bitcasino.io

I have one question:

The bets are actually dependent on us , the value is something that we set , we have an option there and it changes every once in a while but shouldn't the overall condition stay same ?

If bitcoins are expensive I believe it's better for the user since he is actually capable of making more bets with the same amount of bitcoins in the wallet.

Plus if bitcoins is climbing up :
I would rather not bet and keep the bitcoins in an exchange+ wallet and be ready for a descent trade.

- I believe even if you didn't wait for the price to be stable you would be able to still enjoy a descent game because you can adjust the value anytime and they have a realtime calculator of amount in USD.
2305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Looking: Sources that show information about suspended/injured missing players on: October 31, 2020, 03:08:08 PM
Like the title says. It is for scientific and research purposes. Cool
I am looking for websites or sources, who at one place gather information about missing, injured or otherwise unavailable players for teams. Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Ice Hockey, any major team sports.

Is there anything like that available? You can post what you use here or PM me if you prefer.

Thanks!

Hello

I believe you should understand the fact that :
- there is nothing like that right now
- news is the only thing that will do it
- you have to search for the teams you are rooting for and then search about them on the Google.
- you have to keep track of the news every now and then

Go for :
- local news
- google
- local articles
- interviews

Someone might even start using this as an idea to make a new website.
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can bitcoin be made easy? on: October 31, 2020, 01:53:15 PM
My question and also contributions is,Some class of human still find it difficult to understand what bitcoin is, Some have bitcoin in there wallet but they don’t understand it, Those kind of bitcoin can easily be scammed by using bitcoin. If there will be a means of understanding bitcoin more better will provided I think they will not be scam on bitcoin, because You can only be scammed on what you don’t know.We have to share our ideas together and think of a better thing to do if any issues of such arise.
Hello
I believe you have to start by sharing your experience with them , which would not only be personal and unique but at the same time people would be able to connect more. You have to tell them few things like :

- it's like decentralized stocks
- it's a digital currency not owned by anyone but the person holding it at that time

Explain them using things that they are already familiar with , you have to start introducing them to bitcoins by making them use it. It would be the best way since they would be able to connect more and use it practically too.

Make sure to explain the Volatility and at the same time explain it to them that " bitcoins is not something that will make you rich overnight "
2307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Central Bank digital currencies on: October 30, 2020, 06:47:40 PM
Threat : No
They are just a new form of fiat and they shouldn't even be called digital cryptocurrencies, if they are backed by the government they won't be that volatile this tell me: how would they be different from normal fiat ?

They won't be private at the same time you should be assured that the government will keep on tracking your every move.

People won't use them if they do have a better option.

You should understand that the whole concept of crypto themselves is : decentralized system which can benefit the economy and the users alike but when banks wants to get involved in the same the corruption would do no good and at the end people will have much more problems even bigger than fiats.
2308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Death during illegal cockfighting raid on: October 30, 2020, 06:02:35 PM

Warning is not enough to the offender since even if you warn them they will just monitor the cops and play once they are out on the vicinity that's why there are surprise raids since even if there's a pandemic the illegal cock fighting still going on secluded places or slum areas.

They should be given a lesson and this is by filing a charges and putting them in prison because they are violating a lot of laws about quarantine, once they put these violators in prison  many will learned their lesson, it's time to be strict on this matters now that there is a policeman that's been killed.

Not only that there were no timely backup and even the officers were not well educated regarding the first aid . This way very easily preventable.

First of all:
This is animal abuse, it should be banned in the first place. Even if people are doing it illegally one should inform the police in advance.
Now secondly:
If the femoral artery was cut why weren't other officers trained well enough to just use compression to stop bleeding, literally! This is horrible.
Now thirdly:
Please refrain for any such activities, it is horrible and should be banned 🚫 forever using better strategies and making sure that these people are interrogated well enough to find the whole web.

2309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest #Bitcoin transaction in history was sent literally just now! on: October 30, 2020, 05:33:08 PM
I am really surprised looking at the transaction fee, but I do believe that the people might have used segWit but what I am doubtful about is : How did it get confirmed so fast when since days we are experiencing network congestion ?
Since many SegWit address starts from 3, I think it went form SegWit from SegWit maybe ? But then again the reason why people are always worried about the fee is because in comparison to the transaction they are sending it generally occupies a big fraction..
Have we found the solution ? Maybe we should start adopting segWit more ?
Then again it's amazing , if the person would have transferred that amount of money from bank account , he would have to take days , answer ridiculous questions, it could even take days ..... But this genuinely was so fast and at the same time they didn't have to pay much fee.
2310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something still has to be done about transaction fees! on: October 29, 2020, 03:32:21 PM
The fee is actually not dependent on the price of bitcoins therefore most of the times the transaction fee remains same in the numerals but at the same time price fluctuates. One cannot change the transaction fee now and again every moment it changes in price. I still remember how I once paid equivalent amount of money to be transferred since at that time I was using a wallet which had high transaction fee.
It would be wonderful if one just have to pay fee in specific percentage.
But then again , aren't we forgetting something ?

-we have SegWit
-we have lightning network ( this one still needs a lot of work)

But we do have options. Therefore I believe we should try to use them more and there you can change transaction fee according to your preference, according to how urgent it is.

Maybe in the future we will have better options in the future.
2311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trasnaction can canceled if long time not confirmed? on: October 28, 2020, 05:52:28 PM
Someone send me $200+ few days ago
https://blockchain.com/btc/tx/55597a773941e25c9bd08c5a6aa01e9689cdfeb5b114af3da820f68722e04bd8

and not confirmed. If i keep get these transaction is this chance that it will not confirm?

Hello , even I have noticed the fact that transactions are taking far too long to confirm so you are not alone in this. You should actually wait for it to be confirmed or use a higher fee.

You can also boost your fee taken your wallet does have that option.

Other than that be careful that next time for sending/receiving you do use a appropriate fee , a little more does the trick.

It's just excessive network congestion these days , more people are now using bitcoins, trading, sending , receiving and therefore what we can do is : wait.

It even takes time for the transaction to be accepted into the mempool itself and after that it depends how many confirmations it would need according to your fee.

Be patient
Be careful the next time
2312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Constructive Financial Advice Needed on: October 26, 2020, 06:28:07 PM
See I will tell you something that I believe you already know : Trading bitcoins cannot be something that will give you enough money to take care of your self and your family for long term. Right now the price is reasonable and you can buy and hold for the long term.

You should understand that it's a risky thing and therefore be sure to put all your efforts and track the market timely since even a matter of minutes can cause a hefty loss for you.

At the same time you have to keep looking for a better paying job with security , since you just need your mobile to trade and a good internet connection , best of luck.

Bitcoin can make you rich for sure and be a source of suitable income , but only when you know how to use it wisely.
2313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: luckygames problems on: October 26, 2020, 10:55:43 AM
luckygames.io announced on their website that they will be closing soon.

I don't even know if luckygame.io is accepting deposits anymore since I can't even create a new account and no new bets are being shown on their website.

So luckygames is still alive? As I remember, they announced that they are going to close since few months ago. Knowing the fact that it is still alive till this time and still a notification message of the closing, so I'm wondering when they will close the site officially. I remember there is a specific thread in this forum about this closing down of luckygames as you read here
Screenshot below taken from the thread:

Based on above screenshot, the announcement was made 1 month before TwitchySeal created the thread. So logically they announced it on May, but its been more than 4 months but it is still active. Lets be positive, probably luckygames is still waiting for withdrawal request from players who still have some balance on the site.
@OP, if it is true that you have that 10k on your account, no other thing you can do except sending email to the support. I doubt you'll get any helps in this forum.

Now this is really clear
If you did have 10k in the lucky games , you would have used it quite frequently and the same time you would have known about it long ago.

I believe no one forgets about their 10k even if they are deposited in a website which is soon to be closed. Right now I believe you have to withdraw them since you still have time.

Next time you should provide proof of what you are saying since I don't think that is true but even if it is , you should instead of sending them a message , should withdraw your funds right now.

As people said :
-send them a mail
-give proof Tongue

Best of luck
2314  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Adoption: A Breakthrough? on: October 26, 2020, 09:00:27 AM
See what I see is :

If I use my bitcoins for everyday payment and such then we won't be able to hold it for long term or even trade , as for me the cryptocurrencies like Bitcoins are most important as a store of value as other things perse.

At the same time things like fruits and vegetables , I prefer taking from the small farmers which actually does 2 things :
-If get non GMO products of better quality
-I am supporting their small work
Therefore I do believe that , I cannot expect them to use cryptocurrencies or even have visa debit cards. Therefore most likely I would encash my bitcoins when the price is right and then use.

BUT

If someone is buying things internationally , across the border I believe it would be extremely helpful since you won't have to pay much fee.

At the same time if my university started accepting payment in BTC then I would literally save like 100$ per semester. It's not good paying with international cards and even in cash... But BTC would be an amazing option .
2315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trezor saved my after robbery on: October 25, 2020, 06:57:51 PM
I am a tourist in other country and living in the nature
Someone rob the house and rob everything laptop, money credit cards, phone
But Only the trezor under the bed he not rob.
he probably thought is some gadget for kids.

Is saved me because i use loclbitcoins and sold my btc later and still have money with no worries
bitcoin = freedom

It was actually a really lucky thing that the person who was in the house had no idea about Bitcoins or about the wallets that can be used. Then again cash does not provide any us with the security that bitcoin does. After a limit amount of attempts even  your wallet locks up. It is really good if the person using the cryptocurrencies is taking care of all the internet security since the only way one can find a loop hole is using wrong wallets and most of the time it's personal problem.
-Even security with respect to the governmental problems, pandemic, crisis.

But that aside please accept my condolences for the problems that you faced.

But I do believe that wearing it as a necklace as one of you did is not the safest deal since people have been stealing good chains and stuff in the middle of the day so if someone did think it was important and had bad intentions it would be troublesome.
2316  Economy / Economics / Re: usa goverment 3.13 tril. defict its enough? on: October 25, 2020, 05:41:58 PM
Quote
The final tally for the budget deficit in fiscal 2020 came to $3.13 trillion.

That was more than triple last year’s shortfall of $984 billion and double the previous record of $1.4 trillion in 2009.

Government debt totaled about $27 trillion by the end of the fiscal year.

{Some quote from the source you mentioned to make sure people notice the main points without going there}

~BTC is the least of the worries the US economy is going to shrink day by day because I don't even see anyone who will be able to become the president of this country ... If people vote for donald again , it's bound to collapse and die.

~I don't think that China will be the one to take over , I believe it would essentially be some country like : UK

~China is not only facing political crisis but internally it's battling with things like : Other Viruses which is hilarious since yet again they are not willing to inform us or the world about it.

~The developing nations and the underdeveloped Nations are the ones which these rich nations should have supported instead of killing their own economy themselves.

BTC might be 15k , might not be 15k , we have to think about the practical situation of BTC , not the price since do believe that all of us here have seen how scarce the jobs are and still BTC continue to work for the people like us who work on the forum part time and the people who are using BTC to make sure their business reaches international customers

Its not about the price anymore , it's the usage..
2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should we welcome centralized bodies for Bitcoin mainstream on: October 24, 2020, 06:11:12 PM
I do believe we can add a lot of points too here :

- they can handle cases and legal fights with he government and the people in regards to cryptocurrencies

- they can make sure that no one , literally no one has control of mining power

- they can make sure that whales and other holders don't cumulatively influence the price

- they can make sure that bitcoin projects and other crypto projects are not being tackled by the governments out of nowhere and banned overnight

But we are missing something :

This is something that we can only wish when we would be living in a ideal world , a world where there is no corruption and no evil.

Even a single corrupt person in that centralized body can make the whole crypto community suffer , they can influence the price themselves or make laws which would be eventually bad for us.

We don't live in an ideal world , we cannot trust people , that's why it's decentralized in the first place.

Any centralized body feels the need to dominate after a while.
2318  Economy / Economics / Re: Im Back with new Economic predictions USA stocks Special on: October 24, 2020, 05:36:15 PM
Where is the proof ?

Are you trying to influence the price and the people ?
Even if your 100 predictions were right , there will always be 50% chance of the next one being wrong , there is nothing one can be sure of.

Therefore I do believe instead of posting here , you might post into predictions board since this one is dedicated to economy or you can report and ask to move the topic.
I am always skeptical about the forecasts , but I do believe that due to Pandemic the market has already been down for long and we have reached a point where in few months it should start recovering maybe a little?

- by the way lowering of the value of the stock markets is not shocking or wild , it's expected.
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: October 24, 2020, 04:24:40 PM
What comes to my mind immediately if it was regulated for sure it would require to conduct a KYC which would violated on what most of us like which is Anonymity but we can't blame the government since I think they're just doing this to have some extra source of fund to sustain their economy due to this pandemic.
They don't need to impose KYC for that, with the blockchain governements could easily monitor the funds comitted on the platforms and tax them

But the thing is The government is trying to make a digital platform to actually locate anyone who is going to use funds by making KYC mandatory on all the platfroms at the same time making KYC mandatory for all the bank accounts owned by an individual. They are trying to not only check for illegal activities but also see any tax frauds.

Wallets , sites , bank accounts , all of them needs KYC !! If they would go to such lengths to impose the KYC on online gambling , no one would actually use it for sure since privacy is a big factor and they have to at least give some thought for the same. It would decrease the number of people interested in the online gambling so decrease their revenues. So I don't think they will do , they can do for sure but they won't kill their own taxes.
2320  Economy / Economics / Re: First Bitcoin Mixer Penalized by FinCEN for Violating Anti-Money Laundering Laws on: October 24, 2020, 03:41:14 PM
This was supposed to happen since bitcoin mixers are frowned upon by governments and at the same time mixers can be used by anyone as long as they are willing to pay the fee.

I do think that for safety purposes instead of imposing a fine on them , the mixers should be allowed to keep a list of addresses which can only be given to the police in case of absolute emergency. Because sooner or later , the government will for sure come for the mixers, they have to adapt and at the same time they have to take it in that they are being used for illegal activities and such.

So I believe we can reach a common ground , this wouldn't mean we are compromising privacy as long as the mixers keeps it strictly personal ... I do believe this would be needed for sure.

See this one wasn't the fault of the government since they did break the law ... Mixers needs to be extra careful.
