1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Or Gambling ? on: August 22, 2021, 05:51:13 PM
There are people who play gambling only while there are others who prefer betting only.
Do you think both of these type of people have different mindset and one of them is willing to take more risk than than others ?

Also do think that gambling is for the entertainment and earning money too but people do betting only to earn money and there is no element of fun involved in it.

First of all I do think that when people try their luck in sports gambling, they know much better regarding what they are doing and they already have an idea of the outcome. It's really competitive and at the same time people are more well informed about their decisions. When you do consider normal betting I do think that you have to realize that, it's more fun and entertainment but on a different level. These people are just into having fun for the moment since the games are mostly unpredictable. Dice, crash etc, these games comes with a lot of fun and with a lower chance of winning.
I do think that at the end of the day, it depends on your mood and it also depends on what might interest you. Gambling/ sports betting is something that is very different but serves the same purpose. ( People have fun, don't they)
1382  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role Of Bitcoin Growth To Economic Development And Inflation. on: August 22, 2021, 04:46:39 PM
Not only that but you know the value of Bitcoins holds more potential since the Volatility makes people either use it well or either loose everything, therefore it's actually on you, how well you are able to take care of it. There are wallets which are providing the people with chance to even lend bitcoins to other people and these options provides people with not just a chance to hold but also secure some interest. At the same time I do think that when we talk about inflation, it's for sure something that is integrated in the traditional society but the cryptocurrencies are way far apart from them, but at the same time we are seeing a pattern around here, which is more integration with the economic situation of the particular country therefore it's hard to predict but it might as well work as a buffer system in +/- situations.
1383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Gamble as a newbie on: August 21, 2021, 05:13:35 PM
I am a day old in this forum and am understanding some ways in which one can get rewarded and one of such is gambling, but again, one needs to understand the risk involved.

What are your guides from your personal experience of gambling?

Okay so let's talk about why you wanna gamble?
For fun ?
That is something that might be okay for the time being until and unless you are getting addicted to it. I do think you should not just go online and try out things on your own, rather you can try and gamble on safe websites, most of them are involved on the forum and as you can see they do have their own campaigns.
Gambling with a website with strong customer support provides a sense of security too.
At the same time you have to see which currency you are going to use ? BTC ? ETH? ETH will have lower fee and charges and therefore you can very easily send/recieve through that. So be careful and everything else you will learn along the way, do not get addicted.
1384  Economy / Economics / Re: Why did Monero creator let himself be known? on: August 21, 2021, 07:18:36 AM
This is honestly a sad news.
More of a reason so as why Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto should not come out in any case possible. This is honestly messed up how the government is trying to keep that guy in jail, this is wrong on so many grounds:
1. The creators will now be wary and negative of the government and the people alike
2. Maybe in few days we will be charging for using coins like Monero
3. The whole community suffers, hands down, price will certainly go down and the investors are going to be in a pinch.
-Even if he does have a flight risk, it's not like he did hide his identity, everyone knows about him and they can track him down too. At least house arrest might be much kinder option.
Let's see what happens.
He should be given a fair trial the least.
1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Describe your first gambling experience? on: August 20, 2021, 07:08:41 PM
For me my first time sucked.
I earned something from a platform but they paid on their particular site, therefore I had like 50$ and at the end I wanted to try crash. I did make 100$ after a while, 'beginners luck', at the end of the day, it lowered down to 10$ and I did take that 10$ out. Better than nothing isn't it?
Then I again tried to play crash and other small dice games, personally I should have stopped but it did give me a really nice lesson, *never loose yourself*, after that I was very careful with everything but every now and then I like letting loose and seeing where it's gonna take me, I have the worst gambler luck in the history of mankind though.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wells Fargo asks US stock exchange to launch Bitcoin fund on: August 20, 2021, 05:46:59 PM

Wells Fargo has submitted its request to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a Bitcoin fund for its wealthy clients. The American banking giant has signed a partnership agreement with New York Digital Investment Group and FS Investments To create this new investment tool. Wells Fargo first announced the fund's launch in May. The request came exactly the day that Bitcoin retained a support area of $44,000 and managed to advance to a range of 45,950.

Bitcoin fund for their wealthy clients??
Who is going to pay ? Clients ofcourse and at the end of the day they can do it themselves, it's not hard to invest, they are just playing the role of *third party* which is absolutely Wrong because I do think the reason cryptocurrencies are very different from traditional currencies is the fact that the holder and the user, they don't have to depend on anyone or anything (internet connection ofc )
Got a link to that announcement?
Helluva change for them because historically Wells Fargo has been vehemently anti-crypto and closed many peoples accounts because they were involved with crypto.
Well this is how the world works, if you are not able to adapt to the situation and make changes then the company won't survive long.
It's the best for both, the owner and the people involved with the company. Kudos for him doing that but might as well keep in check the manipulations because the fund will be like a single entity, not individually segregated accounts.
1387  Other / Archival / Re: Global Crypto Adoption Has Grown By 880% on: August 20, 2021, 05:20:55 PM
This is a good news for sure.
I do believe that after this news people can actually expect the government to make changes in the way their economy works, they might have to make more amends in the way the government perceives the crypto world. At the end of the day there are not many crypto friendly options available in the market.
Instead of fighting it they need to add renewable sources of energy for mining, which is simply being done in some countries and is a positive overall till now with the environment, economy and the people alike.
Seeing India on the top is honestly nice since in the past we did see a lot of negative news regarding cryptocurrencies and how they are perceived.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Bitcoin skills on: August 20, 2021, 08:55:20 AM
my first post on this forum I decided to make it here since Bitcoin is what I want to concentrate on going forward, I discovered this site through a google search in my quest to get answers to some questions about Bitcoin. And am amazed at how rich in information this forum is I have found almost 50% answers within my short period on this forum all thanks to the members who have been here before me.
I have a very simple question on Bitcoin:
What are the principal technical skills a bitcoin lover needs to have if I want to buy a large amount of Bitcoin and hold it for long-term purposes?
Technical skills ?
I am really not sure if that's needed for holding.
If you do know your basics you are good to go and you learn along the way, it's not a hard task to just hold but the hard task is to be *patient*. I would rather give more credit to the mental skills and the decision making.
-You have to give prime importance to *security*, cyber crimes are more pronounced in this industry for sure. Also looking for a good hardware wallet will be the first thing that you should do. Research, Invest in a good one and do not keep such huge amount of Bitcoins in any Online/offline wallet.
Best of luck with your journey.

1389  Economy / Economics / Re: Philanthropy as a paradox for the uber-rich on: August 16, 2021, 06:50:19 PM
Recently I read about the divorce of Bill Gates and how the Melinda & Bill Gates foundation will continue with business as usual despite Melinda´s spin-off (off the marriage). This foundation manages 49 billion in assets, mostly from donations from the uber-rich.

While Microsoft does not have a particular fame for mistreating employees, most of the large companies, to some extent, are benefiting from market monopolies, questionable tax exemptions and in some cases questionable Human Resources practices. Does it make sense to you to first "take" from society by paying little tax and then doing philanthropy to "give back"? Sound to me quite cynic.
I would definitely say this is what *business manipulation of the rich class sounds like* people have power and tend to abuse it, I would say since at the end they should be the ones paying taxes at a reasonable price for sure. I do think that what they are doing is reasonable for sure, at least they are bothering to do it. Most of them don't even understand the impact of the heir actions and ends up doing nothing.
But there is also another low point that the governmental policies are a bit loose when I comes to stuff like that, I think there should be better governmental policies and at the same time it's the issue of morals and integrity which is essentially personal.
1390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: August 16, 2021, 06:25:42 PM
most Slot players has big bankroll to play because the minimum bet for most slots cant be considered as low for poor. Poor man's favorite game is lottery imho.
Lot's of games only cost $0.4 (minimum) per spin mate.

Yap, know about it very well. Even there are some slots with lower minimum bet than that. Probably $0.4 per spin is not that big for you but it can be something big for poor. I do believe poor will prefer to spend $0.4 btc for lottery instead of playing slot games. All in all, it is big or small is about preferences and depends on our pocket condition Smiley.

But with smaller slots you get better chances of winning, which does mean that you can have higher chances of winning if you are going to use a limited amount of cash.
At the same time it depends on everyone's personal experience. The same time it would depend on the casino you are following.

I had bad run on slot games lately especially with Fruit Party 2 as I did not get any FS after more than 5 hundred spins, I think it is my worst experience with Pragmatic slot.
I think I should stop playing slot games for a while and back to my other favorite game Crazy Ball aka Plinko.
I think you pick the wrong slots to play the "long game." That's the "problem" for high volatility slots because the longer it takes to bounce back (big win). You can down a lot before getting big wins. Thus, you need massive budget like what roycilik did.

Try medium volatility one if you play casually since it successfully brought my sanity back.

To be frank, I do not really care about the volatility of the slot games I like to play  Grin
As long as I like it (because of some reasons such as the UI or its feature), I'll play it as much as I wish but I will stop if I get no good wins after few hundreds spins.
Coming up to budget, I have limited budget unlike roycilik. I'll say $50 per session and I usually use it to play 1-2 slot game only.
1-2 slots? For 50$?? This is honestly a lot, I would rather take small sessions since I did hear once that your probability of Winning in the penny slots is much more as compared to the normal ones. Therefore you might as well try and split them up more.
1391  Economy / Economics / Re: How to identify high-quality projects in the primary market? on: August 16, 2021, 05:49:59 PM
How to identify high-quality projects in the primary market?
1. The team background of the project,.whether the founding team members have other technical or operational backgrounds related to the blockchain icon project. You can learn about it through official white papers, official websites, communities, and other channels.
2. The investment institution of the project is extremely important. A good project seed will attract the participation of well-known institutions in the circle.
3. The technological innovation of the project, or a simple analogy of similar application projects.
The approach needs to be different with different projects, at the end of the day we have to understand the fact that people can manipulate the market, they can manipulate the way they present it to other people. At the end of the day these cryptos projects are high risk investments and they can actually end up abandoning your all hopes and dreams of becoming rich.
I do think that choosing the right project is honestly a tough decision to make since you have to be very alert with every news or any steps that you might take, getting involved means sharing your personal information and your money ofc.
You should rather see how the projects are working on bitcointalk forum and then you might have much better options here.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 16, 2021, 05:29:48 PM
These days I'm seeing many Youtubers and Twitch streamers are promoting Gambling websites [Dice, Sports Betting] and Poker Apps.

I know it's ok to gamble for having fun and socially but I don't think young people should be exposed to this when they're in school.
Most of them will only imagine "What 'IF' i win 1000x of this amount and i'll be able to do this and that"

The first thing where will they get the money, even if they get pocket money and use that to gamble then they'll slowly develop the habit of gambling disregarding short-term winnings - if they occur.

They'll pay a huge price with the tension they'll have thinking about this when their whole life is ahead.

This is definitely something that is indeed a little controversial for most gambling sites since if they do ask for the documents to make sure that people are not underage then people don't tend to take them seriously and at the end these sites are specifically avoided.

I do think that when we are talking about cryptocurrencies like bitcoins, Any gambling platforms related to them would definately have probelms in this sector since most of the gambling places looks like kids videos games and someone might just come and use their parents card to pay.

But this issue needs to be taken seriously since it can cause long term damage, both socially and mentally.
1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Satoshi Nakamoto Hypothesis on: August 16, 2021, 05:02:42 PM
Have a check to Pieter's tweet together with his replies.

I have an email from Satoshi Nakamoto.

According to him, Satoshi is still active on early 2011 after he became inactive on bitcointalk on december 2010. He even have last message/email to his co-developers.

Your guess might ring a bell, but nah.
I think he realized that it was a really big deal that his family and his name would be at stake and he also did realize that government will probably try and pin him down therefore he just tried to cover it all up, which he already had planned before. So he is most likely a very intelligent person with plans beforehand.

He might just show himself one day and going to make some major changes in the chain. I do think he is there on Bitcointalk for sure but he is hiding lol.

I gathered every Satoshi Nakamoto thread.. Another topic about Satoshi Nakamoto. Grin

Any attempt to discover who is/ are real Satoshi Nakamoto is waste of time and will end with nothing. Satoshi wanted to be anonymous at beginning and he is a time-traveler to know he will be very famous after a several Bitcoin halvings so he did not leave trace for us to break his anonymity.

Well even if he did not leave any trace I do feel like he does care about his invention and would come to fix some minor issues.

But we won't find him for sure until and unless he decides he is comfortable with us and there have been attempts in the past, I remember one where they had a countdown lol, it's hilarious, they were probably doing some weird science experiment.
1394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: August 16, 2021, 04:32:22 PM
I was thinking that many countries are reluctant to legalise certain activities such as gambling, prostitution, smoking, ... and, apart from countries that have strong social and religious restrictions (I refer to those as the death-by-boredom countries) others simply consider than the state should not profit or allow activities that are considered diminishing for the workers or that may harm their health and personal relations (it must be difficult to be an addict to gambling or a prostitute and have a normal life).

However, other countries simply set high taxes to these activities, which I think is a false morality, as if by paying these activities can be less questionable. (Note: I personally do not question regulated gambling).

Well am not sure if it's a really good idea that the government is earning from all the gambling companies and during the pandemic they did increase the tax, by a hell lot therefore I do think that they don't have a moral ground for doing that.

The countries with Muslim dominated population are the ones which are trying to force the religion onto people and I did see a post where there were photos from south Arabia showing people gambling.

Regulations are good but only when they are not exploiting the very industry that they are gaining the profit from.
1395  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of policy reversal on cryptocurrencies on: August 16, 2021, 04:04:06 PM
A large scale adoption of cryptocurrencies would not make government devalue a particular currency, it would just mean that they have a new economic hold which would make them change few rules and norms but would not actually affect the basic of the society before cryptocurrencies.
- I would rather say that they might have a symbiotic relationship with the whole thing
- Bitcoins is efficiency being used by many countries and it's providing them with more options, more security.
- it might provide more stability in the long term since I do feel that sooner or later every country will start accepting cryptocurrencies like bitcoins so who are already doing that are steps ahead.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who where how much withdrew from no deposit on: August 16, 2021, 03:31:02 PM
The sites that I use are mostly highly reputable and therefore they have certain rules and conditions. All of them need a deposit before you can even withdraw and it does not work that way. I do think the sites that you might be using are alright but at the same time most of the good one's have their own rules and regulations which I do respect and understand why is it there in the first place.

Therefore, I do think even if you win a reward you can very easily withdraw it after setting the conditions out straight and depositing the amount first. Giveaways are mostly for the frequent gamblers though and the people who are new sometimes. I would rather suggest you to look up the sites on the platforms listed here and even duelbits provides you with one free bet which you can use and who knows you might be lucky??
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doesn't it teach, BTC Price will never go down if we won't force it to go down? on: August 16, 2021, 02:55:00 PM
I do think that it was not Elon Musk that did cause the sudden dump but rather it was a cumulative effect of a lot of things working together. There were governmental factors involved too and at the same time Chinese government created a lot of probelms for the miners. Social media did play a significant role but at the same time it cannot be the reason why we saw such a change, Maybe it was just price correction, manipulation and someone did sell off a lot of Bitcoins at once because they did make huge amount of profits, but let's look at that again *if the price fell, it did give us a chance to buy at the new low! Which is pretty great for most people* so I do think it was not a bad thing but rather it's an opportunity.
1398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the possible outcomes if you join on a Gambling sites or in Casino on: August 16, 2021, 02:30:03 PM
For me there are 3 possible outcomes if you  join on gambling

First if you are in your lucky day for sure you will win and get more money and became rich.

Second If you are in your unlucky day accept that you will loss the game and come home angry and sad.

Third  addicted even if you are in you lucky day or in unlucky day you all you have in your mind is fight back without knowing that your win or loss .

I do not think that people join the gambling sites thinking about the outcomes I do believe that most of them do join the site for one thing and that is : to have fun
The people who try and make money through a gambling site might be delusional for sure, because at the end of the day you have to understand the fact that these sites are not going to make you rich for sure, Maybe one in a million but you cannot expect it to pay you like a normal job would.
Why should we even think of an outcome??
Fun should be the main reason why people are gambling and outcomes should not really matter at all. At the same time addiction is something that can be controlled for sure. There are plenty of options that you can take to make sure that you are not going on the wrong track.
1399  Economy / Economics / Re: Baltic - Black Sea Union as an alternative to the EU. on: August 16, 2021, 02:07:12 PM
Well I do think that there are many difficulties that the EU is facing but at the same time they are doing okay. I do think that the black sea union might be beneficial for some countries which are outside the EU as well, as you said that the trading benefits will be there for countries like India, which would mean that there would be better deals available for them to choose from and there are companies like Apple which are also focusing on India and other small developing countries.
I completely agree with the points listed by stompix. The European Union itself exists only because Germany subsidizes the other smaller nations. The German tax payers have to deal with some of the highest tax rates in the world, to make this possible. The so called "Baltic-Black Sea" union represents a dozen or so countries which are heavily dependent on EU (i.e German) subsidies. And I don't think that existing EU members like Poland, Estonia or Latvia have any reason to break away from the EU and join the new bloc.
Exactly they are doing great and even during the pandemic I do think that they are able to hold down their fort therefore it would take a while for them to get into this union for sure. But they would need reasonable explanations which I do think is something the union might have to work on.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 16, 2021, 01:45:10 PM
The latest creator update from Twitch says,

Quote
"To prevent harm and scams created by questionable gambling services that sponsor content on Twitch, we will prohibit sharing links and/or referral codes to sites that offer slots, roulette, or dice games,”

Now streamers have time till 17th August to remove any such contents from their videos.

News ref: https://dotesports.com/streaming/news/twitch-introduces-restrictions-on-gambling-related-links

Do you foresee any Impact on crypto gambling?

Ofcourse
This will have an impact on the crypto gambling for sure. Twitch is used by many people and most of the Gamblers are making huge money through that therefore if they decide to remove all the links it would not only affect gamblers but also the account holder and the casino. At the same time they will still have plenty of options like YouTube etc to use therefore it would not be that hard to move onto something else.

I do not think that YouTube will do the same but it will provide restrictions for sure since this is a matter of concern but at the same time they should not ban it.
