1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Official: 'Paypal opened crypto buy/sell 4 customers in the UK' on: September 17, 2021, 09:26:41 PM
After sometime, now Paypal officially Tweets about their openness to crypto.

All eligible Paypal customers in the UK can now buy, hold and sell Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum,  Bitcoin Cash & Litecoin from their PayPal account!

How will the market react, will this be enough to send BTC into 48K+ or not? What do you think?

https://twitter.com/paypaluk/status/1438746959364308995

Not exactly.
It's 48k+ which is something that is hard to achieve by just opening all this only in the UK. I do think that the market would for sure show a positive note but it would take time and at the same time the effects might not be that pronounced.

Overall it's a really good news that PayPal which is soon going to increase its fee for the customers as well, is uses by at least 49% of the shoppers. Therefore it would be a really good news for the people who would be interested in that percentage of users as well.
1302  Economy / Economics / Re: How would Bitconia look like? on: September 13, 2021, 06:51:51 PM
Some people may thing that there are countries that would do better to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, just like in El Salvador, and in many others bitcoin is widely used for fear of the economic and authoritarian policies of the governing juntas.

However, I am inclined to think that bitcoin needs a country. The value of bitcoin, the community and the influence that exerts could potentially make that possible when bitcoin reaches an even higher valuation (perhaps it would be possible even now). How would Bitconia look like? How would we get there?

What if the whole world is Bitcoin's country and rather than picking one of two we can actually pick plenty and that would definately keep us closer to a *one world currency as well*

One world - One currency
One investment

Things might take a while but I do think we are already seeing some efforts on the side of people for sure. For efamp Ukraine recently. The have to understand that bitcoins is something they would definately need for the future so might as well be useful and careful.

For me it would be a big connected economy hands down. Waiting for that to happen.
1303  Economy / Gambling / Re: I need admin of Bitvest to come here and explain! ( Not paying my winning) on: September 13, 2021, 06:48:22 PM
Hi
Am sorry this happened to you..
1. Did you message them personally?
2. Were you able to take evidence, SC and put all of them in a folder and sharing it with them ?
3. You should probably move it to the scam accusations.
4. If they do reply- good, if they don't make sure to contact the site as well, their email or anything. Leave your message always.
5. Check if you were using things like VPN etc... Might have to help make your case stronger.

Best of luck 🤞
The person is inactive, I do hope you can soon get in touch with him, try finding his telegram.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling awareness for adolescents on: September 13, 2021, 06:38:29 PM
I think it will take a lot of time before this education program bears good fruit so I guess I will just have to wait for the results. If they can save at least a few youngster from future irresponsible gambling or addiction then that could be considered as a success.

Quote
...“What makes this programme unique is that it includes the role of addictive products and predatory marketing in causing harm.
Not really unique approach. Maybe just new to them.

Yes but honestly in most places people try and ignore and force the laws down, if they are going to explain it to them really nicely and tell them what's gonna happen and how does it work then I do think it might be an amazing option for kids.

What do you think about this initiative??

As long it do shows up some effectiveness then that the time they could tell that it is a success but i doubt that results wont really be that on point which means this would be a long wait

but im not really that against nor do tell that this isnt a good one but rather on the middle side of things since spreading awareness  motive is good initiative but actually these things doesnt really

need to be that complicated or really go into certain extent which makes them impose this kind of act.

The results might actually depend on how it's implemented. The concept is good, they have good ideas and intentions, what's left is to implement it in a way that it would have a good audience, plus they can also talk with the universities and schools as well to get a wider audience. I think this might work if done correctly. At least they are trying something.

It's idea, implication, concept improvement according to the results and all of this is quite going to be complicated.
1305  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin assets cannot be blocked - is that helping terrorists? on: September 13, 2021, 06:34:02 PM
Obviously, this could not have happened if those assets were held in bitcoin or other crypto. It seems that not everything is good in self-sovereignty?

I assume those were federal reserve bonds that countries can hold? If so the same storage mechanism will probabky be used with bitcoin.

If bitcoin becomes like a gold would the US, EU and India not seem like trustworthy resources for housing nations' gold?
Terrorist organisations might get help from certain other countries also in storing gold securely so the same could still happen with that.

A system that allows people to block anyone gives the blocker too much power anyway imo.

It's not about power, it's about the regulation as well since bitcoins as a whole is tightly regulated and manipulated as well therefore storing it etc.. might now work out perfectly well. Terrorist organizations might not be just getting help but uncontrollable power as well if not done right.

My point is why people always try to think negatively about bitcoin when people themselves are reusing bitcoin freely in any form legal or illegal it doesn't make any sense  chief.  And not to mention before bitcoin was born, do you think there was no other way of terrorism?  This is ironic and really unfair.  People are expecting perfection so much that they forget what bitcoin really means.  Bitcoin is not the only tool for potentially illegal activity.  Why is no one talking about illegal activities for fiat like corruption, bribery.  Bitcoin's essence is objective positivity

It is but one cannot just deny the implications it comes with. Bitcoins is something strong and can be misused anytime anywhere as well. Therefore we have to believe in it and accept it. Make changes to improve it in the future. Making changes will start with realization and we have to understand that at some places and points bitcoins might give them an unnecessary advantage for sure. Virgin coins might be a disaster for us as well.
1306  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling license on: September 13, 2021, 06:21:13 PM
Ok thanks, personally I was told that rental was also legal just don't know the procedure. Which is why I posed the question here. But I'll look into the legality of it more.

- If gambling is legal in your country you can go and register yourself online for the license, check the taxation in your country as well and remember that you will be paying a certain amount before you can even start.

It would also take a while and the license would be based somewhere else for sure. There are countries where these kinds of license can be used but the government allows only international ones due to local ban on gambling.

Therefore you have to research on this part first.
Curacao is definitely the mother of all licences.

Leasing one is stupid and unprofessional. Get one for your site after registering.
1307  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you notice how corporations took over the internet ? on: September 13, 2021, 06:17:44 PM
Well I do think that it's something that should be expected in the first place. The internet is for sure a very powerful tool which people with power are able to afford and to influence. The way YouTube changed themselves is the way most of the applications are trying to change themselves slowly.

- I do believe that bitcoins was not exactly meant to be a currency but rather to support the user, if the user is really into investing and rather than just using it as a currency, they might as well do it. I think it honestly depends on the user and not on anything else.

Things are paid for now a days.
YouTube is getting more and more like commerical applications, but you can't blame them since this is actually what's been happening to everyone else as well. Therefore they have to be in par with everything.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: G A M B L E R S !! What are your thoughts on this? on: September 13, 2021, 06:02:54 PM
Well I do think that if am really good at this game which am competing for then I would rather use option B. If am probably not really sure about what am doing then I do think think it would even work I would probably go with B for sure.

B sounds more fun hands down.

Therefore I would rather evaluate my decisions and then make an informed decision as well.. Both ways you need a lot of luck but in one you need skills as well.

1309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is like a losing lottery ticket on: September 13, 2021, 05:54:24 PM
https://youtu.be/52DuIE1-tJY

The linked video explains the difference between traditional financial instruments and bitcoin. Traditional are redeemable, while bitcoin is not. Which makes bitcoin equivalent to a losing lottery ticket. Or, similar to a stock of a bankrupt company, a currency of a former county or a casino token of a bankrupt casino.

Not really for sure. I do think there is a lot of definitions that you are ignoring themselves right by now. Lottery tickets are unexpected, sudden, not even as a further as well. Bankrupt casino?? I don't really think it works like this for sure. You have to do research on it for sure.

Redeemable ?
I do not think that might work out the way you would have expected it to, since nothing is non redeemable you have to work hard for it hands down. It's the same for both traditional currencies and cryptocurrencies as well.
1310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling awareness for adolescents on: September 13, 2021, 04:59:31 PM
Quote
UK charity Gambling with Lives has created what it describes as “a ground-breaking new youth education programme”.

The programme is aimed at preventing gambling harm in young people and will be piloted at schools in Essex, Manchester and Northern Ireland.

According to a press release published by the group, it aims to influence the way gambling awareness education is delivered to young people and address the lack of information and help currently available.

Speaking about the programme, James Grimes, Head of Education at Gambling with Lives, said: “What makes this programme unique is that it includes the role of addictive products and predatory marketing in causing harm.

Apparently there is going to be a new education program for youths which would teach them about gambling, it would be not only unbiased but evidence based as well, they are going to put roles out in the open regarding the predatory market and how it's influencing the adolescents at this moment, I do think that this might be really helpful for certain cases because they are not shoo-in things away but rather teaching adolescents and talking about their issues.

What do you think about this initiative??

1311  Economy / Economics / Re: The economy of Bitcoin on: September 13, 2021, 04:52:28 PM
What is the reason for the decline in the price of cryptocurrency Bitcoin? It is unimaginable that it will suddenly decrease by 2.6 billion. If this is reduced, the price of Bitcoin can go below 30 thousand?

Even if they do go below 30 thousand people will have the opportunity to buy at this price, you have to understand that, what might be a loss for you might be something that might be more important for other people who were waiting for this opportunity. You have to find the silver lining ik every situation, yes ofcourse this would be really depressing but you know things will be fine eventually, the price will recover and this is not even that big of a deal since we have seen this happening over the years as well and it's not really a scary option. 30k?. perfect! I would buy some bitcoins as well.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 13, 2021, 04:27:12 PM
Not just that I think the fact that this message is Poppin up there does mean that you might already be monitored, therefore things might be a little scary, since most sites do not permit the use of VPN and easy to track someone down as well.
They can very easily track your transactions down, if they do know a little about cryptocurrencies and addresses. It would be wise to avoid such situations, if it's banned leave it alone. You don't really have to pay your time in prison for all this, you can rather go to the nearest offline gambling store and gamble there
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is connecting your wallet to third party portfolio apps? on: September 13, 2021, 04:22:52 PM
What's the worst that can happen when syncing your exchange wallet with apps such has Blockfolio (FTX)?

I know Blockfolio probably has good reputation but what about another less known app? What would happen if the phone is compromised or it has malware? What if the phone has malware?

If the phone is compromised it's your fault most of the times. I do think you should understand the fact that, these things are not to be taken lightly, you can download things from sources that you can't really be sure of and can download a malware with it very easily therefore you have to realize what you are doing and are the same time you are supposed to follow through with the security and everything.

Probably its safe but of course make some research mate to obtain specific information and make sure as well thay you're connecting to the real site or apps wherein not a duplicate platform because you know there are some apps and sites made of some hackers that looks like the real one just to obtain victims,so be aware.. Infact all the information can be found in the internet so always use to make research to avoid issues such hacking..

Not just that, you gotta have some practical knowledge for sure. There are people who randomly spread their password around to people they know and get scammed as well, therefore it's not just about the site but it's more about you as well.
1314  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sorare.... are you in it or do you find it to expensive on: September 13, 2021, 03:59:07 PM
Recently I have been getting deeper into sorare.

I love crypto, I love fantasy soccer. So this would be a perfect match for me. I have been playing around with some pocket change but I noticed that if you want get in more serious and really want to make some money out of it you already need €250-500 to set of in a decent way.

As I do not have my desired amount of money to put in already I started of with a lower amount and try to make some money on buying and directly reselling the cards for a small profit to build a larger balance in that way.

Are there other people that love to get in sorare but find it to expensive to start seriously?

I have not really tried these things. But for the people who does not know what it does mean in the first place lemme just quote a thing from google.

Quote
Sorare is a global fantasy football game where managers can trade official digital collectibles. It is on a mission to make crypto fun and accessible to all through fantasy football. Based in Paris, Sorare provides a soccer team management game with digital NFT cards that fans can collect and trade.

Well I do think that I prefer going for the normal sports gambling since the sorare is definately more expensive and therefore it also takes a while to learn And you might need a lot of practice since it won't just be based on luck.

For me this game would require a lot of hardwork, therefore this might not be the perfect thing for most people for sure. Because most of the time people do try and just play it for fun.

1315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concern about the the problem of online underaged gamblers. on: September 13, 2021, 03:33:37 PM
They have to understand the fact that it's not just the responsibility of parents but the site as well, but the site cannot really ask people about their personal information since this would actually cause more probelms, they would actually cause a probelm with their privacy settings. See the solution is everyone working together and also teaching the kids about the whole thing for sure, If you do see your kid having a gambling probelm, then you talk about it, you take them to psychiatrists, it's should never be taken lightly for sure, it can spoil their life forever in the future.
1316  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin differs from gold on: September 13, 2021, 03:11:48 PM
Bitcoins and Gold are way different as compared to each other than that they have to understand the fact that there is no need to actually compare them in the first place. Since bitcoins and cryptocurrencies are ways apart, you have to see that gold is a traditional currency which is something that people use all around the world, cryptocurrencies are more dependent on the mobile operations and the knowledge about the basic trading. But with gold you just go and buy, there are companies who are selling traditional gold as well as gold stocks. Bitcoins is way stronger but manipulations are ofcourse gonna be there as well .
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot vs Video Poker on: September 13, 2021, 08:11:41 AM
Video poker does need skills. I do not really think that it can be done as it is..when we are talking about the slot games then we have to understand that they are based on sheer luck. There are people who might know nothing but just how to push the buttons and they would be able to ace in the slot game if their luck is good.
I do think that we have to understand that video poker needs not only luck, hardwork , skills, attention but it's way more complicated. Therefore for me personally I would rather go for the slot games since I am not so good at poker. You can always find tutorials online and improve on your skills for sure.
1318  Economy / Economics / Re: Boost of a countries economy on: September 12, 2021, 06:52:04 PM
I do think that the government has to understand the fact that there are things that cannot be controlled. Things like bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. There are many reasons so as why the government thinks they are a threat and decides to ban them.

1. They cannot control them and they want absolute control over everything.
( For countries like China)

2. They think this might take over their own economy, like fiat and other tradio investments instead of supporting it, which I do think is stupid since it's something that will help them grow if done Right.

3. They think this might increase the instances of drug dealing etc.. anything pertaining to the black market, I do think fiat is an easier tool for sure.

4. They think it's absolutely unnecessary when we do see things like *El Salvador* I do think they should realize that it's going to be a necessity in the near future and they might now wanna lag behind for sure.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: September 12, 2021, 06:47:27 PM
This is honestly depressing to see players loose this much amount, in millions ! I remember the time I did the post regarding the most successful players in gambling and this one is quite the opposite. I do think that this would show you for real regarding how you should be very careful while you gamble since it can go both ways, there are times when people can win millions but there are times as well, when people can loose millions which makes the whole thing even more complicated. I still think the saddest part might be the addiction that comes with it, people might dig a deeper hole in hope that they might win the money back.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading broadly in China, than Nigeria. on: September 12, 2021, 06:29:06 PM
Bitcoin trading mainstream in China, however Nigeria is not among the top 10 countries trading Bitcoin , could it be that Nigeria government have not legalize Bitcoin?why is China among the top 10, but Nigeria isn't?

The Nigerian government have decided to put a lot of hurdles for Bitcoins in the past and people as well, people who are engaged with Bitcoins, therefore I think it's all about missed opportunities.

There are definitely more applications in Nigeria and people do need it more than ever but I do think you realize that, bitcoins, to be accepted worldwide does need a lot of support from not only the government but the laws too. Therefore I do feel like even though in both the countries it's not an ideal situation but Chinese people are much more accustomed to using bitcoins during such times. Therefore even if they might not have much options, they know how to use it well, whereas for Nigeria the people are still looking for the support of the government.
