1341  Economy / Economics / Re: Tulip Mania 2.0 on: September 06, 2021, 02:31:30 PM
NFT's are not something that is useless, you have to understand that, Tulip Mania might be something there for the future for some of the NFT's but at the same time not for every single one of them..I do think that we don't even need to associate them much with the
cryptocurrencies..there are many NFT's that did make people rich in matter of seconds, then again bitcoins were also labelled as tulip mania but now we are in 2021 and I do think that it can go either way, the choice is yours entirely, invest wisely.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Credit cards and gambling (tabcorp, Australia) on: September 06, 2021, 06:06:34 AM
I remember the time I made the last topic about how the credit cards might be banned for the future gamblers. Apparently according to the tabcorp, banks are supposed to be responsible for the credit card bans.

They also provided the stats that only 14% of the users use credit cards and most of them use it responsibly. Therefore the ban would be enforced by the banks and not by any government and the authority.

At the same time, there was a statement that I did like in the whole news:
Quote
“If we got more information from the banks that a card was suspect, we could shut it down,” he added. “If the banks notified us that this was a problem, we would be able to stop dealing with that problem, but this flow of information doesn't happen.”

-Exactly the problem here.
The governmental bodies and the banks thoroughly oppose gambling sometimes but at the same time they are not working together with the companies to make sure it's safe and more practical and therefore it's indeed hard for them to point fingers even though they did not try to work together.

I do think this sends a strong message about how things can be done in a better way, what do you think about it ?

1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Bit Civilization constructed? on: September 06, 2021, 04:47:14 AM
Civilization might be a far fetched word right now I do think that Bitcoins for a while might struggle with the governmental laws and at the same time struggle with how people are able to integrate it I'm everyday's lifecycle, I do believe that the biggest thing bitcoins did was to allow people to invest, literally, to allow anyone to invest in the whole things and at the end of the day to shift the riches around, which is honestly very rare to see because all we have seen is how the *rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer* but right now if you are wise and you know what you are doing then there is no way that you won't be able to gain profits.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not make curiosity to people around you while you are playing gambling. on: September 05, 2021, 05:34:27 PM
This is something that might work when you are playing the games online, that does not just give you privacy but at the same time it protects such instances from happening since you can more or so prevent people from getting involved or even kids from associating with such things, therefore I do think it's more of a probelm when you are gambling in person and even allowing kids to see or experience it otherwise, There are people who get agitated and take it out on their families as well, therefore this is something that is far to personal, this would only involve the person who is gambling and the person who is allowing to see and experience therefore it's not something that can be controlled by casinos for sure.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 59% of Bangladeshi are interested to see Bitcoin legal here on: September 05, 2021, 04:39:57 PM
All underdeveloped countryes / governments have something against Bitcoin and cryptos in general for various reasons.

Honestly yes but at the same time these are the countries who can actually afford to try things like bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies as well. They have a scope and at the same time survey or no the government needs to get involved and at the same time encourage the general public as well.

I do think that the 12% are the people who are more involved with the traditional investments. At the same time there are people who are living in extreme poverty who am pretty sure did not even take the survey and therefore I do think that the figures will be quite different as compared to what we are seeing right now.
1346  Economy / Economics / Re: Debate: Bitcoin vs Gold with Anthony Scaramucci and Peter Schiff on: September 05, 2021, 02:51:59 PM
Gold and bitcoins are very different as compared to each other and at the end of the day, it's not ideal to compare them both with each other. I do think that people are right now just too desperate to try and compare things to bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies since this would not only attract more attention but at the same time this would get them in the news 📰.
Both are important and at the same time both of them are used all around the world, it's more like comparing black and white. Why do we even give thought to people like that? For some people it's better to be involved with cryptocurrencies like bitcoins and for some people things like gold works out, that does not necessarily exclude the possibility of the other being an absolute failure.
1347  Economy / Economics / Re: Masters in Blockchain and Digital Currency on: September 04, 2021, 07:08:25 PM
You already do know that most companies are now investing in cryptocurrencies, big personalities are very eager to provide someone with a personal job who does specialize in this sector therefore I do think that you might have a lot of options if you do get the masters in cryptocurrencies for sure but that would also be dependent on the location, there are places where are more options available for people who did such courses, therefore you have to be ready to move any moment. There are already many companies undertaking small courses in which kids are enrolling, pertaining to cryptocurrencies and bitcoins, therefore I do think that, you have to see where you would have to apply because this will pay well but only if you choose well where you are going next. Planning is everything.
1348  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is the security of exchanges and wallets sufficient? on: September 04, 2021, 05:29:59 PM
It's true that 'not your key, not your coin', and that there are several wallets and services available to cover yourself.

There may be a point at which any cryptocurrency (whether Bitcoin or another) is held on exchanges/wallets run by small/new companies.

The small players have limited resources. How do they ensure they are sufficiently protected? Why don't there be hacks every other day?

Most of the times being hacked is dependent on personal errors, what I have seen is that people spend hours researching about the perfect wallet, then at the end of the day they usually forget the personal security with respect to their mobiles phones and their computers.

You have to understand that there are very good wallet services available everywhere and therefore if you try and find one locally or nationally, that would work perfectly fine for you but I do think it's more important to have knowledge of cyber security.

Knowledge regarding how and how they should not really store their keys and passwords on their drive. I think everything is enough as long as people try and follow up on these things and worry a lil less about the price.
1349  Economy / Economics / Re: Recent advertisement for Visa - what a joke on: September 04, 2021, 04:44:04 PM
The fact is , they might be trying something new here, they might be developing something new, at the same time they have to understand the fact that people want to mirror cryptocurrencies because this is honestly the only thing which is holding onto strong during the pandemic, therefore all the companies are trying really hard to either replace cryptocurrencies or either try and integrate them within the whole thing.
When you do google what they are saying is not completely wrong but at the same time you have to understand that *why didn't they bother with this before?* Plus 65k views? People getting stimulated in a wrong way, they will ofc now go and buy Visa cards and expect more than they will actually get.
1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 04, 2021, 01:17:14 PM
I am still not surprised that many people leaving in this era still don't know about Bitcoin or digital currencies. I was discussing with some one about bitcoin and it's achievements over the years and how this past few years has gained massive ROI for investors and he was so concerned about how people got scammed using online platforms giving negative attributes to Bitcoin to him bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme.

Many still find it difficult to accepting this digital era because of their past experience with internet fraudsters and looters who made many bankrupt when ponzi was introduced. How do you think this stigma can be dealt with and how do we get people out of this so the don't get left out due to their FUD letting them settle on their negative notion about crypto generally would only make them aggressive with crypto investors and would still see the world the way men in the 80s saw it with lots of limitations

Actually most of the people, including kids and old people alike are actually very involved with the whole concept of Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies and also at the end of the day, these things only came into existence in 2009, therefore we have to realize that its not been that long, therefore I do believe that at the end of the day in few more years with the technical advancements we will be seeing more people interested in the whole concept of cryptocurrencies and bitcoins. Therefore till then we can do our part: telling them about it, this could mean a lot for your friends and family members because they are more likely to listen to you and to your option than go online and research, you can always provide the first push.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / ESPN into a betting deal worth 3 billion dollars $$$ on: August 30, 2021, 06:59:23 PM
Quote
Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN is seeking to license its brand to major sports-betting companies for at least $3 billion over several years, according to people familiar with the matter, aiming to capitalize on the fast-growing online gambling industry.

The sports-media giant has held talks with players that own major sportsbooks, including casino operator Caesars Entertainment Inc. and online gambling company DraftKings Inc., the people said. ESPN has existing marketing partnerships with both companies.

A very positive news perse since ESPN, is now trying to explore more of their options in the betting section now how do you think this might affect the industry??

They are trying to enter the online gambling industry and I do believe that they might try and dominate the market which is already heavily competitive but it might give the users more choice perse.

What do you think Huh
I do believe they might get involved with the crypto casinos too soon enough!!
Something to watch out for.
1352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin exist without fiat on: August 30, 2021, 06:53:05 PM
Since i joined bitcointalk forum i find it difficult to make a post relating to bitcoin, bitcoin is like physical money (fiat), and i want to know the difference between fiat and bitcoin, and without fiat existence can bitcoin have a name?, after thinking all this  with seriousness i concluded that bitcoin and fiat works like brothers and sisters and no one can leave each other, so i want to know if any other digital currency can function without fiat?.

Long story short :
Yes it can exist without fiat but not right now.
~
It's a seperate entity and you might live in a country where bitcoins are used very often and you are able to pay with it in every corner but in most countries, it's not the option, bitcoins is used but the only way you can use it is by exchanging or trading online or offline.

Therefore at some places it certainly can but most of the times you would find it hard to live just on bitcoins but have you heard of the family travelling the world just by using bitcoins???

Google it!
( They might believe otherwise, quite an interesting read!)
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥶 Winter Beijin 2022 🥶 Discussion and bet thread 🥶 Winter Game 🥶 on: August 30, 2021, 06:48:57 PM
just curious, which country is usually a strong contender in the Winter Olympics and what sport they usually dominate? I don't really follow it since most of the sport that are in the winter Olympics is usually not well known in my country and my country hasn't really participated that much in it so my interest in the event is not that great(no offense to the huge fans of The Winter Olympic) compare to the Summer Olympics.

I was not really sure of the answer so I went on the Google and it said :
Norway
US
Germany
Are the top dogs in winter Olympics they have been winning a lot of medals since it started therefore we might be seeing these countries dominate in the same and at the same time they are followed by Soviet union apparently!? Which I do think is a bit weird to say right now then Canada and Austria.
( Taken from google )

1354  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you like to become a co-owner of a world bank? on: August 30, 2021, 06:35:28 PM
It might be fair to say governments of the world hold monopolies over fiat currency. Which could be improved by introducing free market competition to the equation. The venezuelan bolivar and zimbabwe dollar could be better managed, and appreciate in value. If there were competing currencies incentivizing regulators to do a better job.

Many mistakenly classify bitcoin and crypto as attacks or attempts to subvert government authority. The motives of Satoshi and crypto developers are not negative. They merely offer alternative options with the potential to grant people more opportunities in life and more freedom.

If big tech monopolies like facebook and google are negative trends. Perhaps government run monopolies of fiat may be categorized similarly. In which case bitcoin and crypto could represent progress and an improvement over traditional modes of banking and finance.

Well I do think that people do not realize the fact that, cryptocurrencies and other things cannot function without fiat, right now we are in a system where we trade and take care of things in exchange for any fiat and at the same time it's helping many countries and people establish jobs, businesses, giving them more investment opportunities, therefore if the government tries to integrate themselves with the system they might very easily get rid of corruption since everyone will be able to track the records and at the same time, people would also have some power, that will be much like real democracy.

It does not only represent progress and improvement but also represents respect for individual financial authority and privacy that needs to be respected big time now.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Sports Gambling Websites on: August 30, 2021, 06:19:24 PM
I think you might have to explore a lot before you can reach a conclusion, the fact that sports gambling websites are very varied and these sites have all kinds of different things which might be something that is useful and needed for some and for some, might not be, I do think that you should start by exploring the sites which are involved on the forum perse. The sites with the signature campaigns etc.. all of them are doing wonderfully well and are also integrated with the people and the customer support is also well established therefore this might be a much safer option as compared to just going on Google.
Best of luck!
( Other than that many people already did put forth their own options about the best one's here )
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins? on: August 30, 2021, 05:58:16 PM
No offense for other countries 🌹

Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?

Many reasons why some countries treated Bitcoins an illegal. But we all know that Bitcoins did not break the rules of the government, in fact Cryptocurrencies are very popular nowadays especially Bitcoin, many people got successful by joining Bitcoin.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?

The government is not really scared about this part but what they are scared about is their power being taken away due to the decentralized network being over popular amongst people.

Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are something that might cause the public to realize that corruption and manipulation is very much integrated and they might need some other investments for sure. Which does mean that bitcoins might be their best option right now but it would take away the investments that might have pooled in the network from the side of big whales in banks and stocks.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card bans introduced in Ireland. on: August 30, 2021, 05:41:51 PM
Why are the offline and online shops affected in this one, shouldn't it be the gambling alone that's affected by the credit card ban and what's the story behind the ban of credit cards in Ireland? That's a really strange ban in my opinion.

Well apparently the association for the safer gambling regulation in Ireland have established that the credit card system might be causing a lot of problems for the people involved in gambling and that they might use it a lot and fall into debts, etc..

Therefore they have decided to ban it in both online and offline places.

So finally Irish people have fallen for the same social taboo against gambling that less progressive societies face. Unfortunate! But I do support the ban on credit card gambling. It's not wise to gamble using borrowed money as the chance of getting into serious debt trap increases manifold. But what's with the advertising ban!! Gamblers would anyway know where to gamble. In the era of internet, advertising ban makes no sense.

If the gambling houses can't advertise on television, they would turn to social media marketing which can have even severe impact on new gamblers. Seriously, advertising ban doesn't nake sense!

Advertising ban might be a good thing in some places but at the end of the day, these things might mean that they have to look for other things to advertise in and at the same time, they might have to use billboards etc.. but at the same time there are many other things that still gets to have a place to advertise in tv but gambling is actually smaller than that.
1358  Economy / Economics / Re: What could make a hacker return stolen $600m crypto on: August 30, 2021, 05:18:28 PM
A hacker return stolen crypto

Quote
But was the thief a good samaritan who stole the money to expose a dangerous security flaw

Quote
"I am not very interested in money!” the hacker wrote, adding it was “always the plan” to return the funds.

How can that happen that a hacker does that I return the stolen crypto and say he is not interested in money. This is funny K can say that. What do you think about this story.

Even if he does that it was still wrong in the first place to do such thing, this might be taken as having good intentions in the first place but at the same time it's a breach of security.

-There is something called *hacking* and then there is something called *ethical hacking*, here I am pretty sure that there was nothing ethical going on and at the same time if he was not interested in money, he could have just transferred or taken, just 1$!! That might have worked out perfectly well too.

Maybe he was too scared of being discovered since he might have left some small clues on the way and realized it, this was just an intelligent move to cover it up.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Credit card bans introduced in Ireland. on: August 30, 2021, 05:10:19 PM
Bookmakers have agreed to an industry wide ban on credit cards apparently they are a part of an updated code of safe gambling practices introduced by IBA. Therefore if you do live in Ireland then you have to take care of these things. It will be both applicable in online and offline shops.
Quote
The advertising ban meanwhile will be before 9pm, and will run from five minutes before the live sporting event until five minutes after, but will not include horse racing or greyhound racing.

Also not just that they have a whistle to whistle advertising ban being introduced.
Quote
“We recognise that there is a need for the industry to continue to develop the highest of standards for safer gambling,” said Byrne. “We believe in particular that the credit card ban and the 'whistle-to-whistle' advertising restrictions are significant steps on that path.

These might be a very good fit for the safer gambling regulations which is going to be there soon enough in Ireland.
Quote
“This Code is not the answer to problem gambling and we believe there is more that can be done within the forum provided by a regulator. However, we believe that these measures continue the journey the industry has been on in recent years, to ensure standards are increased for all.”

1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online sexy casinos on: August 30, 2021, 04:42:35 PM
This post is really weird since I do believe the user does not realize that we have various sites that can be used and instead of looking for such casinos, which I do not know what purpose they are serving ? Gambling? With provocative girls? Which is an amazing method to avoid people playing seriously therefore I do think these things can be segregated in the first place.

Plus some people might enjoy but might as well go for a real life experience. If a casino does not need a woman to sell their products and to advertise and still is going strong then it might be even better then your options.
