In my opinion it was unevitable that this amount of money was attracting the attention of the organized crimes. Tryads in china maybe. I mean why rob a bank for a measly 5k USD, with all the risk included, when you only need to rob a cat and fry it to get what... millions?

*Triad (though I heard it was Mongolian pirates)
Yes, Triad is exactly right! Just like TF and Ukyo and all the rest of the great bitcoin financiers, who gave their lives so that others may live.
NeoBee Danny too, those Triads threatened his daughter, if I remember right.
Organized krymes Angry They just ain't got no scruples!

Well NotLambChop, we know that these others didn't vanish so strange like friedcat vanished. Most of them are known to be alive. But friedcat was gone in an instant, even letting his wife behind. Well, you can't say if he loved his wife but his wife called the police, so she might have loved him.

I think the vanishing of friedcat is a different level of mystery. Sure, it can be that he vanished on his own. But i simply see it unlikely that organized crime would have overseen such a low risk target. Only because we didn't really see things like that happen before doesn't mean that it is unlikely.
2323  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 24, 2015, 10:12:09 PM
I kind of lost track of the "have you seen this cat?" bit, the trolling was ridiculous and the competition was hotting up and coming out with all kinds of extravagant claims so I thought it was better if they either backed off and looked for another direction or held off altogether while the rat race cut each other down.

It's a shame they didn't hold off on the dividends when things where at their peak to have a big stash to take things to the next level but it would likely have got eaten through regardless of how big it was. Hope they're all doing well wherever they are, you'd never know it from looking through most of the thread but this was the turning point where Bitcoin became too big to kill Smiley

I don't think holding off dividens would have been a help for asicminer. They never had too few money. They were really rich so that holding back was not necessary nor would it have changed something.

2325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about tetherUSD, coinoUSD, BitShares 2.0 and BitUSD? on: October 24, 2015, 09:41:22 PM
Trustworthiness of the Bitshares dev's is not an issue.  They don't hide behind computers and have been very active over the years at conferences.  They even hold weekly mumble sessions you can jump on and ask questions etc...

The 2.0 wallet just came out and with that will be bugs and issues so use it accordingly.  OpenLedger provides a nice Bitshares on/off ramp especially with their nano debit card.  Overall it's a great solution where you can trade other chains such as BTC without having to trust a 3rd party exchange with both sides of the bet.

I will add, research yourself such as GitHub repositories to get an idea how much effort is going into these projects.
https://github.com/bitshares (BTS 1.0 had 8311 commits, BTS 2.0 so far has 1046 commits.  Shows you how active they are)
https://github.com/cryptonomex <--creators of bitshares that are also creating specialized chains for the music industry etc...

Thanks for your insight into bitshares. So how does the pegging to 1usd work? Will bitshares 2 always have that value? How is that value establisheD?

Weak hands...

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It would need balls of steel to still believe that friedcat is on a business decision to work "officially" in silent afterwards and buy back all of his companies shares for pennies, claiming he worked on the next big hit only.

In practice still holding would be nuts when thinking this will end well. Holding because the shares are nothing worth anyway anymore is a different thing.

+1, many of us said "all the way to zero" and it wasn't just talk. Its a shame a lot got burned with speculative trading but the IPO was a huge success.

And friedcat was one of the rare occassions of a businessman that really could make a thing work. Though one could wonder if it was luck only since it seems only the first asic was a real success.

And for sure you have to criticise that he held the only keys to the riches of the company. That was stupid.

In my opinion it was unevitable that this amount of money was attracting the attention of the organized crimes. Tryads in china maybe. I mean why rob a bank for a measly 5k USD, with all the risk included, when you only need to rob a cat and fry it to get what... millions?
2327  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Purse.io - Bitcoin Amazon Marketplace - Save ~10-25% on Amazon Wishlist on: October 24, 2015, 09:24:44 PM
If you are allowed to raise it to 50% then you can set it so high. I had a couple of orders on amazon.de taken that way. On co.uk or .com it is practically impossible.

Though it is relatively useless too since purse will eat the additional discount. for example 50% only turns out to be 36% or so at the end. The rest is fee for purse.

Yesterday i sent some transactions to poloniex and 2 of the three transactions had been malleated. So copies were created and showed up. They didn't confirm of course.

So it's really so that 2 attacks run now. Might be from the same person trying as much harm as possible.

Roll Eyes Let me show you guys the example so you can make good decision :

1. Korea

*lol* Everytime i thing about korean girls i have to think of that story where a korean man sued his wife for betraying him as looking great. Because she has born him ugly childs.

http://www.examiner.com/article/man-sues-ex-wife-over-ugly-children-and-wins-daughter-s-looks-horrified-him

The story is a hoax though. Though it seems to be really so that many korean girls made a lot of plastic surgery on themselfes.
2331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2015, 07:51:35 PM
IMO, leave trading to the pros.  If you think you're going to make money via trading, always remember that people with exceptional experience are in it to make the money off people like you.

Professionals started as noobs too at one time. Though yes, as a noob you will lose ALL your investment. Not only once.

Because of that start small. Maybe $20. Or start with a demo account.
2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay for the companionship of a Supermodel with Bitcoin. All Money is Money! on: October 24, 2015, 07:40:36 PM

These "supermodels" are - to an even greater extent than other hookers - focused on money. People thinking that paying more constitutes a special relationship obviously have no experience with both women and economy.

It's a status symbol and perceived one upmanship I suppose. And if you're moving in the highest of circles, or rather the tackiest, I wonder how many of the conventionally acquired females draped around the place are there because of Boris or Slobodan's gorgeous body and kindly nature. It's not something that has the slightest appeal for me, but for some people it works.

I agree. Though it's not even a thing of the richest. Many normal man chose their girl after their look. They tell her what to wear and how to style. These girls are like a car to these mans. Something you show around to show everyone what you have.

It has zero appeal to me too. It must be a life missing love. Though i think many don't even know how great love can be. That's a pity.

Next thing is, many man nowadays don't even know anymore how to deal with girls, especially how to approach them. Buying them seems like an easy way out. Though i would suggest to learn it. If you really have problems with it then check out PUA, despite his bad reputation the real communities are simply made out of man who love woman and want to life all the sweet things you can have with woman. Only some sickos try to exploit woman or even to punish her. Those are not really liked in the community.

Man nowadays simply get not teached at all how to deal with woman and when they do it is some stupid nonsense from hollywood movies that for sure won't work in the reality.
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay for the companionship of a Supermodel with Bitcoin. All Money is Money! on: October 24, 2015, 07:32:40 PM
Interesting discussion on the subject on reddit. I thought it would be worth sharing with you guys here.

http://fallenangels.london/of-course-we-accept-bitcoin-all-money-is-money-2/

https://redd.it/3ouf0d

The escort are high level escorts in every direction. They are intelligent, most of the times well educated (college or university) and above all, sexy at the maximum. Are the best choice for that kind of people which have money and are alone. "Unfortunately" I am happily married and cannot taste those. Anyhow I will use never my bitcoin with those. I would use my fiat money. Cannot have fear to be known. It is a pleasure to be with those.

I am glad you are one of the few who understand the difference between a a high class escort and a standard one. On this level its usually about exclusive dates, events and parties and in most cases just be a smart listener. There are many blue-bloods who don't mind paying for a company of a intelligent woman.

Thank you very much for your special world about me. I can assure you that if I were young, have money and single would more than happy to have the companionship of such kind of girls. Maybe be able to attract her so much and stay with her more than can be possible with my money. But even because the relationship which will be created in such conditions will much more enjoyable. Not because i doubt in their professionalism in doing their "duty". But because the attraction from both the parties (when born and exist) give something special to them; something that any amount of money is not able to create.

I think i would not want to do it exactly because this kind of "relationship" that might build. I mean if it really turns out that girl is a girl you fall in love then you might have be no chance. She might not be in love since she was paid for it. And you are heart broken.

Even when she fell in love, i wonder if MissSilvia would have to punish her for breaking the contract or something like that. I'm sure that is not allowed. I might be wrong.

And then, though that's my personal preference... i'm somewhat cautious with girls that you draw to you with money. You never know if she would love you without money too then. And i really really like that the girl that loves me know went through hard financial times with me. That showed me that her love is deep and pure. Smiley

You have not read well my post.  Wink  I have not mentioned in any place the word "love". "Attraction" and "love" are way far away from each other. So, I wrote firstly "Maybe be able to attract her so much and stay with her more than can be possible with my money." So, in other words, the attraction be firstly by the other part and not from me. Then, if this could be verified, is the next sentence: ".... the attraction from both the parties (when born and exist) give something special to them; something that any amount of money is not able to create.". This mean attraction (for sure) at least by the other part.

You can tell that in these things nothing can be calculated. Maybe could be so. Maybe could be me that can't be able to protect my feelings and myself. Who knows? Maybe you right. But for the others. Because as for me (knowing myself) that it is not my case.  Cool

As for MissSilvia, she will know nothing. It will be a little secret between me and the escort in question. So everything well thought. Don't you think so now?  Cheesy

Or course that might happen. Though i wonder if that isn't only your dream and you would spend a lot of money only for being near these models.

Though they way way more important question would be at the end... would you really want to have such a girl as your girlfriend, if it comes to that? I mean how much does she love you and how much does she love the money? When you lose your job or bitcoins, do you think she will stay with you? My girlfriend has proven that to me when we both went through a really hard financial time. And i'm very lucky about that since at the first look she looks like a really expensive girl. Though her love is pure and great. Cheesy I met her at a disco, by the way. Many random events that led to that. Cheesy

Unsere Energieriesen wanken schon, E.ON oder RWE.

Look at my  trx. it get confirmed after 110+ mins .. wow . maybe it was because of lower fees ?

Your fee was 20 times higher than the minimum fee. The confirmation time matches the calculated confirmation-times shown on cointape.com. Check the website out. It's pretty usefull.
2337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: October 24, 2015, 06:05:21 PM
that we don't have it now because those, who should implement it, have a financial interest that bitcoin is not working fully fine.
Yes, right.
But not only this.
It can not possible in our Universe to create something "which is good [for everyone]"

Well, I guess we all give up now.

I have the feeling many gave up, yes. But i think we only need to wait a while until everyone sees how stupid a "fee market" would be. We have to pay 30 times the minimum fee for standard transactions now. And this is only a problem because of spam transaction.

If you imagine having more than enough legit transactions that would fill, let's say 2MB blocks constantly then it really will get nuts. Because it is impossible that all legit transactions can confirm. The fee market will rise exponential and still alot of people would pay not enough.

Such a bitcoin would die pretty fast. It would be useless because unreliable. And the lightning network will die on the same day. Roll Eyes I really did not think bitcoin will stay in such a politics zone.

2339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: October 24, 2015, 05:49:41 PM
Isn't the price drop caused by raising price of bitcoin?
I mean, during the first bitcoin bubble back in 2013, the alt-coin prices was bound strictly to bitcoin.
Now, some alt-coins has its own value, so when the bitcoin goes up, the exchange rate to bitcoin goes down.

BUT

We are now experiencing larger drop CLAM/BTC exchange rate if it is only following internal value of clams.
I think, that lot of "investors" when saw, that the BTC/USD price goes up, but CLAM/USD not, started selling CLAMS and started current dump.

Unfortunately the clam price is bound to the bitcoin price, not to the USD-Price.

When i first tried to invest in clams i bought clams but had to realize that i have to keep the bitcoin price in sight. Since when the bitcoin price drops then the value of your clams drop too. If the bitcoin price goes up and the clam-btc-price stays the same then your usd-value of your clams is rising too.

There is no real connection clam-usd unfortunately. So holding clams is a risk since you always have to keep the bitcoin price in mind. If you gain 10% profit form investing your coins in just-dice and the clam-btc-price stays the same, then you can easily lose 20% in reality when bitcoin drops in price.
2340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2015, 05:37:18 PM
As I have found myself, there are following methods for earning bitcoins.
1》Mining = Block minings can pay you some huge btc, upto 25 btc for every block mining
2》Faucets = They pay you satoshis, even though they pay so low, they at least pay for doing nothing...
3》Trading = Trading or selling your items through btc can help you make some quick btc
4》 Gambling and games = You can earn small amount of btc through games like casino too..

Mining is only a good way to earn bitcoins in theory. In practise it is not working. You have to pay for the miner and the power cost. And many noobs fall for the theoretical profit of mining over the months... because they don't realise that bitcoin mining has the difficulty. Which means the reward you get in one month is way less in the next already. And this goes on.

Most of the time you will NOT even get your investment back. Not to speak of power costs.

And the worst thing is that the chance is huge that you will lose much more by having bought from a scam company or invested in a scam cloud mining company.

No, mining is not a good way anymore. Especially for private persons.
