2321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to hold in peace on: May 14, 2022, 11:51:42 PM
Is it true that its wrong to hold coins for many years and never look back? Someone said coins can die in just two years, they can also lose demand and hype under a year, so how do one hold with zero worries?.
If its not bitcoin, then you should not hold it for quite long years, but always take time to sell some of them and buy another coins again when their prices are low. However, when it comes to bitcoin, people often say that its the most valuable asset in the market and its value always appreciates in time, the reason why majority hold it for long term and never be bothered by market changes.
2322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 14, 2022, 11:22:17 PM
If it's Bitcoin just HODL. It would be a stupid thing to sell in a bear market. BTC will still reach 100K one day if Putin won't drop the rocket and/or we won't have another COVID, there is always hope in this world.
As long as you are investing in those coins with long term profitability, whatever happens to the market, always chose to HODL. That is if you want to avoid losses and be profitable in the future. The market won't always be bullish, so we should have separate plans other than hodling in case the market stays being bearish.
2323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 8 Suicides Have Been Confirmed Because of the $Luna Crash. Why did Luna crash? on: May 14, 2022, 10:52:06 PM
Use google and don't be lazy to search article.

Even you are searching "Why Luna Crash", you will get a few article how the algorithm work between LUNA & UST. Feels bad for the 8 people who are suicide, just one of learn we can take for this. Never use financial money to invest and always use free money.

But, off course can't really expect this crash "LUNA". Since the coins are being listed on MAJOR exchange, this "LUNA" crash reminds me of a mortgage crash in America while no body knows the loop for that case until it's happening.
Suicidal happens for those who have put too much expectations on a single coin and invest their hard earned money on that. Now, everything end up in a mess, that made them decide to end their lives too. That's too unfortunate for them that they took their lives because of money. Although nobody's expecting that Luna will also end up like any meme coin, but maybe that's the reality when we come to invest in cyptos other than bitcoin.

2324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Luna just became the new Shiba Inu on: May 14, 2022, 10:38:19 PM
I know it sounds crazy but hear me out. Crypto is mostly about speculation, lets be honest.'
(...)
Exactly and people should not only focus on terms of the prices of cryptocurrency or they are just here because of money like an investment. They must first appreciate the real use of cryptocurrency, like how it works or the real use of it in our daily lives.

Speaking of Luna and UST, I was really surprised about it, I didn't expect it will go that low, -100%, gross. It seems it is impossible for Luna to reach it even $1, the supply is extremely high, as time goes by it will be abandoned or forked, depending on the decision of the team.
No one is expecting that Luna will end up like this, the reason why those who came to invest huge amount for Luna, also loses huge funds this time. This made us realized that there's no consistency in crypto, its impossible to be profitable all the time. But if we always follow the most basic rule, invest what we can afford to lose, then we will never lose this much.
2325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto trading has caused more depression in 2021/2022 on: May 14, 2022, 09:53:07 PM
In the past few days, the crypto market has taken a diped turn.
People have committed suicides.
What more should we expect
Its quite unfortunate actually. The recent incident on luna dumped is really shocking and I am not gonna say no one would do such thing due heavy loss especially on those bet all im theit hard earned money. Its really depressing how this turns out plus the market sentiment. But of course they should be always ready and dont forget the golden rule that invest only you can afford to lose.
That's how investment works actually. You won't expect that its price will always be surging, there will really come a time that you get to lose what you have been profiting, and Luna is not an exception. I guess people end up in depression when they start to believe on things that would hardly become possible in the future. If only they stick to investing on the amount they can afford to lose, things will never end up this way.
2326  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC be used as a world currency?? on: May 14, 2022, 09:30:08 PM
If it's just about unity, yes that's possible.

But we have to accept the reality that not all countries are going to be friendly with bitcoin. Just like what's with it right now, too bloody on the market and it seems negative to look at and there will be citizens that can't understand how it will work as a currency.

And for those countries that are looking at it as a legal tender, they're all free to adopt it but as we always knew, not everybody is going to be okay and happy with that adoption.
For now, majority of the big countries are still against with bitcoin, so if the same situation will still linger in the future, then we can't expect that bitcoin will be held as a world currency. I agree if the case is for unity, it might be possible, but using it as a global currency, i guess USD will hardly be replace by bitcoin. Despite of the fact that bitcoin has already existed in decade, but when compared to fiat, i think bitcoin is still in its early years and has still its big rooms to grow.
2327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know why Bitcoin price is dropping down ? Don't Ask Satoshi ? Just buy ! on: May 14, 2022, 08:57:48 PM
Do not get scared. This is an opportunity for new investor to buy and get rich later. Don't ask me, if I am selling my 1.1 million Bitcoin. Just buy some today and you will be surprized later next month.

I am just playing a game. A game that will bring more investors in the Bitcoin business place. Beleive it or not the Bitcoin Bull is going to run very soon and it will go to the moon by 25 December when I will bring Bitcoin Jesus back to earth.

Do not think Bitcoin value will go to Zero and sell all your Bitcoin. Then the  Bitcoin  Whales will buy your Bitcoin cheaper because you are scared. There after they will become more rich and you will cry loudly saying, ' why didn't I hodl my BTC ?

BitcoinMoses  Grand Father of  Bitcoin  Jesus.

If you don't beleive in me then go and beleive in Faketoshi. Remember those who say, "we are all Satoshis" are also Faketoshis.

Okay ! Dokay ! You are all Satoshis.

Only I am myself Bitcoin Moses.

PS: The one who control gold makes the rules.
There is no reason to be scared about buying bitcoin because no matter how it falls deeply, it will never drop into 0 value. So take advantage while there is big opportunity in front of us, be greedy while others are fearful. If you dream to be profitable in bitcoin, it won't happen at the moment, but surely the process starts today. Trust in bitcoin and you will never lose in the long run. People only lose once they start panic selling at a lower value.
2328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lesson learnt from the crypto asset failure on: May 13, 2022, 11:57:46 PM
Unfortunately we have seen one of the biggest scam/failure of the project LUNA /UST where people have lost million/billions of dollars invested in them. We can't foresee such incidents but one thing is that if we follow the best practices of portfolio management, we could have minimize the loss.

No crypto assets in our portfolio should be that big, that in case of a mishap, our whole portfolio get a big hit. Also this means not to put all eggs in one basket in our crypto portfolio.
That is applicable if you are investing in altcoins or in any project that is still no guaranteed profits, but bitcoin will always be an exception. You can diversify your portfolio as much as you want but always see to it that a bigger portion is fill in with bitcoin. As bitcoin will appreciate its value in the next possible years, then its good to hold coins like bitcoin. However, a lot have been losing now due to Luna, but i think there's no need to regret about it since we also made a lot of profits from Luna before this happens. So its not really a huge loss for most of us.
2329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just lost my job, new yorker here, what to do next? on: May 13, 2022, 11:27:54 PM
It's hard to find a solution for you these days but you need to know what skill you owned it. What you need to do to at least try to do some side job that will give you weekly salary. Writing an article was good enough when you join into the bounty campaign with stable token payment.
I can't give you another solution and the market is also bearish, this is also reducing your investment as well. well covid and war were destroying everything
Refrain from making investments this time since you are struggling already with your funds. Instead, build more skills in freelancing so that you can land a job easily and earn a living from it. NFTs are not that profitable these days, especially that the market is actually bearish, and so less activities should be made this time. However, if you can be accepted in signature campaigns, that will also give you a decent income.
2330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Easiest Way For New Traders To Profit From The Crypto Market on: May 13, 2022, 11:11:47 PM
First thing to say about trading:
Trading is not easy and can't be learned by readig one article...

Anyone who says so is straight up lying to you.

Trading with profit requires training and lots of knowledge.
If you can't be knowledgeable and skillful before trading, then expect that you will never be profitable most of the times. Even with copy trading that OP is saying, it does not guarantee to be profitable in trading. One strategy may work for a trader, but it won't always work when used by other traders. That is why every trader should be knowledgeable and skillful enough, and even master one or two strategies so that if one strategy does not work, he can used the other one instead, the reason why a good trader is also flexible enough.
2331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Qualities Of A Good Bitcointalker on: May 13, 2022, 10:57:13 PM
We can't expect everyone who comes to the forum to be extraordinary users who are able to write word for word that is useful for themselves and others. The tips you share may be true and they are great, but expecting it to be heard by the 10% newbie who come is definitely going to be difficult.

If the average newbie who comes only for money, then the tips you share will not make them care at all because they will only focus on money and money. But I'm sure, the 5 points you have in the thread are definitely useful.
This is how a bitcointalker in the early years of bitcointalk, but newbies these days are already not performing the task they should be doing, and they also don't have the qualities of a good bitcointalker. Instead, they become self-centered and only enter the forum because of their wants of money, and not because they want to learn in the forum and also contribute valuable information in the forum. Without merit system, i guess the forum will be full of spammers and shillers.
2332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: May 12, 2022, 10:35:20 PM
I'm not going to do that for buying now it looks like we have to be a little patient for the right moment, I know a lot of people continue to speculate about buying now but in reality bitcoin will go down to the bottom again, we have to know the cycle before this will indeed happen 2018 with some saying so but I still see continuous movement.
The reference point of 20k is indeed the lowest. I am still preparing everything, whether this is the right moment or will it take a long time.
Now that the market is hitting the bearish season, i guess patience will do a lot if we can still wait for a better price for bitcoin to buy. Do not mind with other's speculations, have your own analysis of the market. If you think btc price will drop more, then wait for it, but if you want to buy in every price drops, then do the DCA. It will be a lot safer that way. Just don't sell them unless you start seeing a good price to sell.
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk won't save Doge or Bitcoin this time on: May 12, 2022, 09:55:34 PM
Who cares about Elon Musk. I never did. 1 BTC is still 1 BTC. This will pass and BTC will rise again. Actually it will exist long after us. Even if it will go down to $10,000 it will rise again. Not all people are scared like chickens when it comes to BTC. You only lose if you sell. Easy math. As for Doge, it turned to a s*itcoin anyway thanks to Mr. Musk.
Elon Musk can never control bitcoin right now. Although bitcoin is really in a bearish state right now, but its definitely the best moment to buy bitcoin right now. So there's nothing that the people would fear, as bitcoin will always recover even if its value dumps so hard. As with Dogecoin, shitcoin will aways be shitcoin, and its high value before may or may not come back in the market anymore.
2334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 09, 2022, 09:20:30 PM
I know that Casimero is not the first one to do it but the fact that he's caught in the act is really a heavy evidence just because there's a dumb person in his camp. The damage has been done and they should just take that as a lesson rather than making some speculations that doesn't really make sense.

Yes. There might be other boxers too that undergo that trick but just play safe and never noticed.

Actually, it's not just they were caught in the sauna but it's really alarming that they noticed Casimero's 10 lbs weight loss in just a matter of a few days. Maybe that triggers the investigation and since his camp has a video of it, it made it easy for the BBBofC to suspend him right away as there's proof.

With another delay, Casimero is now hitting the veteran age period and might become inactive for 1 year if no fight involving him will happen until August this year.  The worst is, with no negotiated fights, no reason at all to retain his WBO title.
That is expected to happen as Casimero has ruined his own reputation, then he has to face a lot of consequences, even losing his WBO title which i think is very possible. There will be no promoters who will stand on him, and that losing all the opportunities that has already been set for him. Casimero must be very hopeless this time, as not only he'll lose his title, but he will also lose his means of living.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 09, 2022, 08:55:13 PM
LOL... this tournament (FairBreak Invitational Tournament) has nothing to do with the ICC. This is a privately organized tournament and the credit should go to Shaun Martyn of Fairbreak Global. ICC has zero interest in globalizing the game and they don't have much interest in women's cricket either. The ICC didn't even offered any coverage regarding this tournament on their website. A total of 90 players (divided in to 6 franchises) are taking part, and the majority are from associate nations. Even players from countries such as Rwanda, Brazil and Philippines are present.

Seeing the interest of people in women cricket, ICC has given up all efforts to promote women cricket. But its a good move to gather so many women players and arrange a tournament for them. Though I don't think it will be much beneficial in terms of financial gain but definitely will help players of associate teams to improve there cricket.
Although women playing cricket are only taking few slots in the cricket's total participation, but i guess women should also be given chances to be engaged in cricket especially if they have the interest and skills on it. I believe women can excel in some games, its just that they are not given same opportunities with men. Hopefully women playing cricket will also be recognized in the future, as people would also love to see them engaging in cricket.
2336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pounds bet into £157,865.59 on: May 09, 2022, 08:34:49 PM

How can you explain such fortunate winning happening for real? It looks unlikely and unrealistic even for a Hollywood movie script!
Imagine the sequence of events needed in order to deliver the results that would perfectly fit the predictions of this impressive lucky gambler.

Actually, I guess luck purely can't explain this event, there must be something else! Or are these fake news?

When luck is on the works then having these situations or events or happenings could really be possible but its really on a very rare situation on which something that you could really see everyday.
Somehow you could really raise up really some questions in regarding on this one on how it did really happen because basing on the order of each bets then you could really tell
that its impossible on how to get win in a very long row of selection considering that not all would be surely in money line.
That just proves that gambling isn't just about luck, good thinking analysis and skills also matters. But i won't deny that this gambler has also the best of luck since predicting all these results correctly are very rare to happen. I guess in gambling, its not always the house wins. Sometimes, when a gambler has his own unique instinct to win, he will do more than luck just to prove he's something more than that.
2337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 09, 2022, 08:07:35 PM
Anyways, Donaire needs to decide after this fight no matter if he win or lose and if he will still pursue his career even though he is not getting any younger. He is already vulnerable unlike these young boxers who's recover and healing process is somehow shorter.

In fairness to Nonito Donaire, he's not like any boxer that is currently in the retirement period but still showing explosiveness. The fact that Donaire established 2 wins at between 38 and 39 years of age, and take note, it was both 4th round knockout wins, how can we even think that it's time now to hang his gloves.

Actually, from what I see, he just moves forward by having a rematch with Inoue because he won his previous fights and become a champion. For let's say he loses in his last fights, I doubt Donaire will still push on a rematch with Inoue. It means, he knows that he has the power to defeat Inoue regardless of the chance.

The main objective now is how to execute it properly on the day of the fight.
The Filipino Flash just gets better in time. He can't wait to get in the ring and fight his opponent. As Donaire is not getting any younger, i think his stamina for boxing gets even higher unlike for most of the retirees that they gets weaker and lose in the ring. But not in the case of Donaire, he becomes more skilled and passionate in boxing that he even wins his fights despite of his age. Well, i agree on you, he would not long for this rematch if he thinks he's not capable to win against Inoue. He knows he can still do it in the ring.
2338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 09, 2022, 07:49:37 PM
I just read this morning that an Indian 16 year old teenager Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa managed to beat Magnus Carlsen in a Blitz Chess tournament. He is only one of three Indians grandmasters who managed to beat Carlsen. Blitz chess and normal chess games are very different, the players don't have the time at hand to think too deep about moves ahead. It is much easier to make mistakes. In a traditional tournament Carlsen would have probably won. But still, such a big win at such a young age his a pretty big boost for his self esteem. I hope he will keep training and maybe go for a world championship match vs Carlsen at one point. Now I am wondering how this Carlsen loss will impact betting on matches in the future. It is just a matter of time until we have a new world chess champion.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/02/22/sport/rameshbabu-praggnanandhaa-magnus-carlsen-chess-spt-intl/index.html
That's actually pretty cool, you've got a bragging rights that you've beat the World Champion. Ramesh will definitely be a big player if he continues and pursues chess and becomes a competitive player, this win easily gave him a spotlight and people are going to expect, now that you mention it, I'd love to see him fight Carlsen in a standard match.
This is a big achievement for India as Rameshbabu will bring recognition to his own country. People might have been amazed that Ramesh at his young age, he's already a grandmaster and is able to win against the current world champion in chess. If he will keep on improving his talent with a lots of trainings, i guess in no time, he will be the new world champion at a very young age. Ramesh has a very bright future ahead, hopefully he can reach his goals in life with all his determination and persistence.
2339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Paradox of Gambling behavior on: May 09, 2022, 07:34:39 PM
Do you do it for winning?
of course winning is the most important, but when it comes gamble we should accept the fact that it's always a game of luck, wherein no one can really tell  the results afterwards.

And that's why i choose to gamble sports because even sometimes my favourite teams didn't win, at least i'm satisfied on the game and no regrets on my decisions. Lol
No one gets to gamble for the loss, of course we all hope for the win. But since in gambling the house has always an advantage and they always win, so we can't expect chances of winning all the time. Especially that gambling is based on pure luck, so if it turns out that we don't have the luck that time we gamble, then losing is very possible.

Well, i mostly gamble in sports too, though i did not win all the time, but the fact that we get to see our favorite teams, we also got to enjoy the game. Gambling i believe is made to entertain us, not totally for money matters, but if we wins, i guess its a bonus.
2340  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few Steps To Avoid Losses In Trading. on: May 08, 2022, 11:21:20 PM
Over the years I have come in contact with so many traders and 65% of them have always complained about not making a profit in their trading when asked the reasons behind their losses they have always responded by saying this,( bad luck). You can not make profit in trading without observing the trading rules.

Here Are A Few Steps To Avoid Losses In Trading:

1) Have good knowledge about Trading: In order to avoid losses in trading, I advise every trader and those intending to venture into trading to get knowledge of trading first before trading. Go for online classes(Youtube) for a pre-trading experience, register for mentorship classes, and onsite classes for a fast and better understanding.

Note: Learn To Earn.

2) Trade With Well Known Trading Platforms Only: To avoid losses as a trader, ensure you trade with the recognized trading platforms, e.g, Bitfinex, Binance, Huobi, Coinbase, Bittrex, kucoin, be careful and don't trade with an unfamiliar trading platform.

Note: Walk with the wise you become wiser.

3) Master Your Trading Strategy: Traders who make huge profits in trading have one secret which they do not share that is their trading stategy. They master one trading pattern and they work with it, when you master your strategy, you will trade with confidence you will jump around looking for signals or analysis before trading.

Note: Stick to what works for you.

4)  Understanding The Power Of Risk Taking: As a trader, taking a risk in trading is good but knowing when to take the risk is better, so many traders lose money in trading because they believe that everything about trading is risk-taking no, you only take cross-examined and calculated risk only in trading this will help you to stop even when your profit margin is high.

Note: We trade to grow not grief.

Summary: Your profit must be greater than your losses if your a good trader so trade with wisdom.
That is the main reason you trade (Profit). Any trader who does not make profit in trading should go back to the drawing board and get more trading knowledge, you can not regard yourself as a trader when you lose funds every day. Just like the op said, learn to earn.
Learning in trading is the most basic rule a good trader needs to do before he engage himself in real trading. However, newbies tend to forget this, but they always believe in a lot of speculations without finding the facts first. Because of how they see trading as a quick rich scheme, they always fall for losses. And losses in either way becomes inevitable in trading, but at the end of the day, a good trader should learn to overcome his losses and maximize his market gains so he can sustain trading.
