1481  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 26, 2022, 08:59:38 PM
There are things that make us complacent when working in the office, sometimes time is not felt so that when we are old we will be aware and regret, if we owns the office then this is a good thing, but if only an employee then it is better to leave it immediately, many opportunities To get greater money than working in the office.

Actually side hustles do not provide complete freedom from the financial point of view. We still need to rely on professional jobs if we have already got one. Multiple income source is definitely needed but it has to be well planned and executed. Moreover, peeps should understand that side hustles are really temporary and they may or may not sustain our lives forever. However one can always have multiple hustles to keep oneself engaged so much that even if one shuts down then another keeps us going. Definitely worth it.
Leaving your main job in which you are well compensated is not the best thing to do, but rather adopt some of side hustle jobs that will give you additional income. Because in the long run, it’s always certain that only your main job will sustain, and the rest are just existing temporarily. So make the most of it while you can still take advantage of them, and give you bigger income too more than you can imagine.
1482  Other / Off-topic / Re: Team USA will play in the Philippines for the FIBA WORLD CUP 2023 on: December 26, 2022, 08:40:17 PM
this is the first time that Gilas will be able to compete against team USA
Technically speaking, there is no draw yet, it will be held next year, it just that the team USA was just assigned to play in the Philippines either in MoA or Araneta Col. So team USA vs Philippines is not sure yet but it is not impossible to happen if and only if PH team will dominate the game and got a chance to world's bests including USA.

About the ticket fees, well, expects it will be higher since this is a world cup than those typical PBA match, but not so expensive. Or the association will probably face a slap from the public.
I also expect higher prices for each ticket but not that expensive based on the prices shown by OP, Filipinos themselves will hardly afford it but only big businessmen will do. However, if this event will turn into reality, I guess it will also be a great privilege for Filipino players to have a match with the US team. Even if they lose in the end, it’s like they also win since they are lucky enough to fight with their idols in the NBA.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 26, 2022, 08:20:07 PM
Every good companies or business have bad reputations that re spread intentionally by haters, you can't be successful and not have people that will want to stop and ruin that success for you, if this isn't happening to you yet then you are not successful.

The only difference is bad companies have way more bad reputations than the good ones because it's real, but good companies rep are intentionally ruined by haters, period.
This is natural because of the competition among business people who want to get the top position in the same business sector. This makes them want to do everything to ensure that users will always use only their business premises and that they can get the greatest advantage over their competitors. But for now, users will not be lured by what is offered by casinos that are not trusted or do such bad things because they can choose the casino they want. I am sure that every casino will always be careful in competing with its competitors and will not let its competitors spread trouble for that casino.
With the stiff competition of casinos in the gambling industry, all casinos are thinking to be on top of the other. And they usually do this by offering their more trendy and advanced games and bonuses, and various promotions that will attract the interest of gamblers. But with all of those, experience of the gamblers are the most reliable way so they can chose with casinos to gamble and which are not. Although even reputable casinos have bad issues, but it does not matter as long as gamblers find them worth it to gamble and are still satisfied with how they handle their gamblers’ concerns and problems.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If your friend would tell you this... on: December 26, 2022, 07:59:27 PM

Too much waiting 3 or 4 yrs. gambling is entertaining.
Yeah sort of that. Next bullrun happening after next bitcoin halving on 2024, which the bull run will start on 2025 (NFA). But i think it's better to wait instead gamble that huge money like that, unless you already rich enough to lose that money and can earn that again in a month or short time.
Gambling is entertaining when you won, but never when you lose it .
Gambling is more risky when we gamble with huge amount so probably I will also wait even for quite long as long as I can assure that I will have my best best and that bet will have higher probability to win. Otherwise, betting for just some chance and luck will only lose them all in the end. And I won’t allow that to happen since the amount I am holding is definitely big and it would be insane losing them all in the long run.
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: December 25, 2022, 10:59:14 PM
Let us assume the fight is about to happen, I think Devin Haney has the advantage here.  I saw it when the two talked in the post-fight interview and see how huge Devin Haney is.  Even Lomachenco joke around if Haney is a lightweight.

If Loma shows the same move in his last fight, I think there is no chance he can win against Devin Haney because his performance is quite disappointing compared to his best performance.  So I think Devin Haney will be the one with the advantage here and Loma might be the underdog.
I would agree to that. Haney has been very excellent from his old performances, and those I’ve seen from Lomachenco is quite nothing compared to Haney. But I don’t want to jump to conclusion as there might be twists and surprises when the real fight happens. Of course, I believe Lomachenco has his own hidden potentials too, and he’s not gonna make it this far if he is just an ordinary underdog boxer. So let’s see when the real match happens.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2022, 10:44:33 PM
I think anyone of this trade could happen before the deadline in February, if Lakers wanted to get a roster upgrade or a new team mate for Lebron. I know that Westbrook name has been coming out even last season or before the start, but there are no chances from him, or not what the Lakers expect him to be, so they might as well trade him.

For AD, it's the cycle around his body, wear and tear, always injured when they were about to make a run. But the thing is, will the Bulls think he is still worth huge some of money and then them letting either of their stars for AD?
If I am not mistaken it is the last year of Westbrooks contract, and they have only Lebron and AD for more than just one year, that means they are going to actually drop to a very very low salary levels, and they will have open books for anyone.

I think trading at this point wouldn't give them any success, they will be bad this year no matter what, however, if during this summer they could use the free agency decently and even trading block decently then they could actually get a lot of great players for sure. I am not in support of AD staying neither, with very open books, AD being traded, and free agents everywhere, they could fill around Lebron with amazing players.

I go with your opinion, for this season better not to pushed anything the chance is low now and even you'll going to get new stars or players
that will surround LeBron there's no guarantee that it will improve the team's winning chance.

Let the season past if they can't get that spot even in the play-in, take the opportunities to make a good value of what will happen this coming
summer as the contract of those players who got a huge salary will expire.

That will open up good space to land stars and good role players to start working with LeBron.
Lakers will always have its goal to win in every season, all teams for sure. But whatever will be the outcome for this coming season, without or without good players that will surround Lebron, Lakers will always remain iconic as they are one of the most promising and successful teams in NBA. Even if those big players contract will soon to expire, the name Lakers itself will always remain prominent.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Types Newbies Should know About on: December 25, 2022, 09:58:41 PM
  • Parlay: A parlay (also known as an accumulator) is a combination of multiple wagers into one single bet. Each wager, or leg, must come through for you to win a parlay. Parlays are much riskier than betting on each game individually, but you also get better odds. In addition, you can wager on more events with one stake.

Would be happy if other veteran gamblers can add any gambling type that I may have missed.
I am not a veteran gambler, i am more like a newbie though all the betting types mentioned in the OP isnt new to me, Parley is the most interesting for me, infact, i always prefer to parley my betting as this give better odds and depending on how many games that are combined into one parley, one could stand a chance of turning a very little amount of money into something really huge, but on the other hand, the risk is always very much higher too as any wrong bet destroys the entire ticket and it doesnt matter whether every other games went through as predicted.

parley betting are best done with small amount of money laying around on ones account that he or she don't mind losing, using really huge amount of money to parley bets is a huge risk which i dont think professional gamblers would even take.
Parlay betting also works for me although in the real sense, parlays are not worth the money. Even if we know single betting is better and more safe than parlay betting, but somehow I realized it’s good to take some risks somehow and just play small amount of bets which if you get lucky, you will win such a huge amount out from a minimal bet. Though the odds are better in parlay, but this type of betting is usually like a lottery bet, the small bet is still capable to win a jackpot amount, but the bigger chances of profiting is still the house itself.
1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: December 25, 2022, 09:44:27 PM
The computation is very attractive having a 17% chance to win 1200% is huge enough considering most dice offer 580% return for 17% chance.  Definitely I will take the bet.  I would allocate 10% or 1/10 of my bankroll to stake for every roll, this way I will have 10 tries to get a win and hope for that 10 tries can hit 1 for a profit.  Grin
No one would really say no to this kind of bet. As long as the casino has provided positive feedbacks from previous players playing this kind of game, then I would also do the same and take the risk in betting. And the more bets I have to make, the more chances of winning. But no matter how it’s very tempting, I will also make sure that I will only bet the amount which I can afford to lose.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Licenses and Casino reputation on: December 25, 2022, 09:24:22 PM
The curacao license only makes them look good on paper and it's a way for them to avoid taking other complicated licenses, they're mainly for the convenience of the casinos.

For us gamblers, there's no benefit in playing in a licensed casino that's why most gamblers always look for feedback coming from the players, and whenever there's an issue that's always one-sided other gamblers try to look for alternatives to solving their case like for example reaching out to a mediator like AskGamblers.
Having a curacao license is the most sensible choice. But definitely, the benefits are mostly on the casino side. However, seeing casinos with license is just one thing only to consider when gambling, but the very important thing we always look up and consider is the feedbacks and reviews that are not totally paid. Casinos which are responsible not only for their own benefits, but mainly for the gamblers. And those reviews are very helpful for gamblers because it will help them to decide whether to gamble or not to gamble with this particular site.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazil passes law to legalize crypto as a payment method on: December 24, 2022, 10:59:13 PM
Well, it is a start and an opportunity for those who want to pay in btc to have the option to pay. This process is way better than that of El-Salvador imo, the difference between the 2 is, Brazilians will have the option to pay in btc, get used to the process and even have the time to access and analyze the process, unlike El-Salvador who just went straight to adoption without given the citizens the opportunity to be acquainted and validate its importance.

you may have a point on this. at least their people have time to acquaint themselves to crypto payment method and the move is not a drastic one. once some of them got a hold of using btc transaction and experienced the advantages of using this method, they can easily spread it via word of mouth. this marketing tool is a very good one as the government doesn't need to spend money. if more and more people will be satisfied using crypto payment, in time, their crypto users will grow. the el salvador's approach was like draconian one, why it was encountered by street protesters.
At one point, yes people will get to know more about crypto and how it could be beneficial to them before they make an assessment whether it will be applicable for them or not. Although there may be a lot of reasons why Brazil legalized crypto, either they’ll regulate it or they have its future plan to make it as a legal tender next to El Salvador, but for now legalizing it as a payment method is already good enough.
1491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips to Becoming a Successful Holder on: December 24, 2022, 09:59:27 PM
I think there should be a proper risk management theory to be a successful crypto holder. Holding a non potential coin will make you loses. So always try to hold top ranking cryptocurrencies and hold in a safe non custodial crypto wallet.
the right choice is BITCOIN, it is a top coin that has no equal for long term investment. Indeed, a coin that has no potential is the wrong choice, it will only waste time and will not provide a commensurate profit. to be a successful holder must know the science of trading, science of market analysis and risk management theory as you say.
Also, to be the best holder you can be, you should have all the patience to hold and not to be easily pressured and ends up panicking. Even with bitcoin, though it’s always the right choice, but even if you have tons of bitcoin in your portfolio, as long as you have no patience to hold it for quite long years, you will never be a successful holder.
1492  Economy / Economics / Re: Hope for cryptocurrency in Nigeria. on: December 24, 2022, 09:25:16 PM
This is good news. At least they're trying to reconsider their previous policy on Bitcoin and crypto. It seems this bill has a bright future. The chairman of the committee on capital markets in the lower house, which happens to be a former president of the country, seems positive on it and probably influential enough to bring his colleagues into passing it. And if Bitcoin and crypto thrived unrecognized in the country, this will certainly provide a boost to its local adoption.
Probably positive chances are also possible here. If this reconsideration will create positive outcome, the Central Bank of Nigeria will start boosting crypto adoption and will come to recognize crypto as a legal tender or a form of exchange in the near future. Otherwise, though crypto is not also illegal, but it will never be used as a legal currency.
1493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 24, 2022, 08:56:02 PM
Probably when something really life and death emergency situation happened ( I hope not to) that requires a lot amount of money, like a lot, then I will be force to sell some of my holdings rather than taking a loan from a bank, because that's the purpose why we save money, to have something to spend just in case something happens.
Cases like this are inevitable. Even myself too, if something happens like this and yet your available money cannot cater to what is really needed, I will not make other choices but to sell instantly my bitcoin if that will only save my loved one. The only reason we invest is not just financial freedom, but also to make us always prepared when unforeseen events suddenly strike us.
1494  Economy / Economics / Re: A fact that the general public don't know on: December 23, 2022, 10:57:23 PM
In every bear season, fraud events come to the fore in the crypto market and negatively affect the perception of the market. It feels really crappy when all the positive things and things like that for crypto's development are destroyed in bear season. I don't think there is anything that can prevent this and people are always scammed regardless of the bear or bull season. As much as possible, prefer the coins that came out when the market first formed. Because they are the first in this business and they have been doing decent work for years. The recent FTX scam has completely changed my perspective on the market. I don't trust anyone in the market and now I think that the only reality is Bitcoin.
I have always believed in bitcoin only ever since, and find some altcoins even those potential ones still in doubt. Especially with this latest FTX scandal, no need to trust other coins but only bitcoin. Although some coins are even profitable than bitcoin, they even make instant millionaires, but my faith is still in bitcoin. Just thinking how bitcoin survived over a decade, that thing alone is very amazing and valuable.
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 23, 2022, 10:39:36 PM
When a man gets married to a woman to become husband and wife, they become one and everyone expects that they can get to share everything with each other. I know of women who have the passwords to their husbands bank cards and they can make withdrawals on his behalf. I will like to ask the Men here if they have shared their seed phrase with their wife's? I will like to ask the women here how they will feel if their husbands refuse telling them their seed phrase?

I know when it comes to marriage, all things should be shared. And that’s the way it should be. However, there are things that will be more secured if you left it to yourself alone like I have with my seed phrase. I am not hiding this of course because my wife is certainly aware that I have bitcoin hodlings but I just can’t tell him the seed phrase to avoid its exposure. Well, my wife understands it so I have no problem with that.
1496  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: December 23, 2022, 09:56:33 PM

Regardless where we live, money is our top priority in order to survive and thrive. Having enough money to fall back on means we are entitled to more choice and possibilities. Like it or not, we are chasing or being forced to chase money in most phases of our life. Financial freedom has been most people's ultimate goal for decades, if not for centuries. To achieve this goal, we will encounter endless challenges. Each of us has a unique life situation so what is your biggest obstacle to achieving it ? I know we can make a long list of problems but there must be one or two primary reasons that really hold you back. This is where we should focus and I would like to hear your story. Thanks.
Honestly, i am stuck with loans right now which i think my biggest hindrance why i can't achieve financial freedom. But when all of these will be settled, saving would be my first aim so i can start with my dream business that will make me financially stable in the right time. I just have to stay patient this time and just be contented whatever i can afford to have.
1497  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has your budget for gambling been affected by the festive season? on: December 23, 2022, 09:34:14 PM
It is the festive season, and it comes with a lot of expenses, both planned and unplanned. The planned expenses are usually higher than normal because marketers take advantage of the season and increase the prices of their commodities and you spend more that usually budget. The unplanned in this season is that you may have some visitors either family or friends and will have to spend some more money entertaining them. For people who have a strict budget for gambling, I would like to know if your budget for gambling has reduced, or if it remains the same?
To be honest, i never intend to gamble this month as i can use the money instead to buy gifts for my loved ones and for the preparation of Christmas and New Year's eve. That is way more important than to gamble my money and just lose them in the long run. Hopefully by next month, i can save a little amount just for gambling alone.
1498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what proof must one have to identify himself as Nakamoto Satoshi? on: December 22, 2022, 10:48:05 PM
Attempting to prove identity is itself shady to me.
Because why did Satoshi go away in first place to want to come back now and need to prove his (her, their) identity. And why prove his identity in first place? If he wanted to do anything like contribute to Bitcoin he could do that under any identity he wanted. Maybe he is already creating pull requests and reviewing changes in Bitcoin!
Only those who are set to gain something would want to prove something. There is nothing to be gained for Satoshi to prove his identity. Only losses, loss of privacy, maybe even security as his life may be in danger, etc.
This has a point. If he is the real Satoshi, I don't think he will bother to prove himself that he is the real one. After all, Satoshi doesn't need any spotlight or acknowledgement, all he aimed was just to help us by giving us the freedom from the banks and be our own bank. Otherwise, if he is not the real Satoshi and would want to steal the reputation of Satoshi, for sure proving himself to the people might only be his focus.
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: December 22, 2022, 08:06:46 PM
Does completing bonus is still possible and profitable or it's just like chasing the wind?

It's profitable obviously "if you were able to meet the eligibility and requirements".

Now depends on how aggressive you are to achieve that bonus.

But for me, I'm not that enthusiastic about trying to achieve that bonus in most cases since that requires serious effort and dedication plus the fact that there are lots of players who are also trying to get in especially if the bonus is about leaderboards.
Personally, I don’t see there is a need to chase for that bonuses because they aren’t really free in the sense that we have to pay first and meet the qualified amount so we can be eligible for that. It’s even a waste of money I guess knowing the chances to win is also very rare and slim. But if you’re just there to have fun alone, then you can gamble as long as you can, but if you want to stay practical, playing for bonuses although profitable but not really something that we are obliged to.
1500  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: December 19, 2022, 08:36:29 PM
Nothing matters a lot. You just need to be honest that’s all a gambler expects from a casino.
Work on your bankroll and probablyfair thing OP. Also make the games UI smooth, so that no player should face any sort of lag and this gives the user smoothless gaming experience. Also it will be better if you can implement no KYC policy. As we are talking about crypto gambling. And here many of us like to remain anonymous. As far as you remain honest with your players, you will be praised by them. That’s all each and every gambler wants from a gambling site with has a potential .
Indeed, honesty is the best policy. Even if everything in the casino seems perfect, but there is no transparency, then expect that it will not continue to work in the long run. Just be honest to all the players, i guess  that one big word will leave a huge impact to all the players and will keep them playing in your casino. Also, if it’s a KYC free, that will also means a lot to them as privacy always matters. And with updated games and promotions, and good marketing, players will definitely stick to what your casino has to offer.
