1441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 08, 2023, 11:37:46 PM
Remember the first trading lesson you learned as a newbie? Did it come from a win or a loss? A loss teaches you about the reality of the market, protects you from becoming cocky, and humbles you. When you are a beginner trader, a small loss is not a terrible thing. Losses teach you proper trading risk management strategies and techniques and respect for the market and prepare you for long-term success.

Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
Personally, I have my fair share of losses during my first months in trading. I know trading is hard and quite complicated so as a beginner, I will never expect to make a successful trading. TBH, those losses I had experienced has been my great challenges in crypto that made me stronger and smarter today. Those losses had made me improve and enhance my trading skills and strategies, but I believe there will always be inevitable losses in trading regardless of our high expertise and knowledge in trading.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the best strategy for high wagering/low losses on plinko? on: January 08, 2023, 11:02:14 PM
There's a higher chance of it landing on the middle rows. Normal curve-based probability. I would suggest you focus more of your bets within the center, and then deviate a little here and there to cover a wider range. If you are shooting for a single bet high wager, however, this could still work but will not guarantee a win every time. So I would really suggest you drop multiple marbles instead of going all out on different bets, like what Jackg said.
That is way more profitable dropping in the center with multiple marbles so that it will easily move back and forth, side by side, in which the winning slots are mostly placed. Also, if you think you are losing already big on that day, I guess it’s smarter to just call it a day and leave. After all, this is still luck based game so strategies alone are not enough.
1443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 08, 2023, 10:33:43 PM
I think  it is the casinos problem to gain the trust of the players.  In case there is dispute between casino and players, the one who has the strong evidence get the sympathize of the readers and players.  If the casino is just randomly throwing accusation to save funds that is supposed to be withdrawn by the player, they will suffer and possibly would even have a greater loss because of their reputation of being unjust and players moving away from their platform because of trust issues.
Most likely, it’s always the casinos that should make first moves to attract new customers by creating bonuses and promotions, and gain their trust in the process. If not, these customers will make a shift and move to other casinos. However, with regards to casinos accusations made by players, as gamblers we can already tell who’s telling the truth or not, but if the casino can quickly address the problem and resolve it, no matter how suspicious the casino is, gamblers will find no reason to leave the casino.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 08, 2023, 09:59:57 PM

And each one says things to himself in his own way:

Hector Garcia says he’ll beat Tank Davis by being “smarter fighter”

That has not to be told, it's already given, I mean you need to be smart in order to win the fight. This isn't his first fight, I'm pretty sure he is using his intelligence everytime he stepped up in the ring. The question here, what if Tank Davis is still smarter than him, then how can he beat Davis?
A fighter needs to be smarter than the other so he can make an edge over the other, and that is everyone’s goal in the ring. But we all know who’s smarter and fiercer between the two. However, if Ryan will eventually improve his craft by boosting his performance level, and become the toughest, he might eventually win over Tank Davis. But that will take a lot of time to realize that’s why Ryan should definitely prepare much for this match.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Cassino Continue With Wagering Requirements, If Abuse is Eliminated? on: January 08, 2023, 09:35:37 PM
the reality is, there will always be abusers. i don't think it can be eliminated especially if the casino is not requiring kyc to its customers. even some licensed casinos are still not requiring kyc for their small time bettors. so it is far from happening that abuse will be eliminated in my opinion.
the possibility is - they may lower their wagering requirements but they will keep certain conditions to avoid rampant abuse of their bonuses or rewards.
It’s far from possibility to lower their wagering requirements because it’s the best way they can take advantage and make high profits from their players, as much as abusers will hard to believe that they will never exist since a lot of players want to gain advantage of the casinos too especially if they have made more losses than gains.
1446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC Price Drop - How are Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Responding? on: January 07, 2023, 10:47:05 PM
Once you have observed prior timelines on BTC, there is nothing to be afraid of. I'm pretty sure real long term holders don't even check prices of BTC, that's how much faith they have in it.
It is important to differentiate between the long term holders that have one or several bear markets under their belts and those which do not, this is because the long term holders that have experimented bear markets on the past know very well how bad things can get, and since they have held their coins even during those circumstances then it is obvious they will be able to keep holding their coins now, but for those which do not have this experience and only know about this from watching the charts there is a real risk they will sell their coins as they they could be unable to endure the pressure during these difficult times.
That’s why experience greatly matters in any of our endeavors, especially in a volatile investment like bitcoin. Surely, they will be panicking at the moment watching the price keeps on dropping but if they have established their faith with bitcoin, they will stay patient and continue hodling until they’ll reap what they sow and experience first time profits when the market turns bullish hopefully this year. However, for long term hodlers, they know what they’re doing, so they’ll be safe with that.
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their cryptocurrency on exchanges? on: January 07, 2023, 09:59:32 PM
I am in the process of purchasing a Ledger Nano offline wallet and it got me thinking about why people store their digital assets on crypto exchanges.

These exchanges are susceptible to hacking, insolvency/bankruptcy, misuse of customer funds (FTX) etc.

What would happen if Binance got hacked tomorrow and lost the majority of its cryptocurrency? Would they be able to reimburse customers or would they become insolvent?

I asked my close group of friends how many store their assets on exchanges and only 1 out of 6 uses an offline wallet.

The recent incident with Luke Dashjr confirms that you are always at risk of being hacked no matter how vigilant you are.

Will give my thoughts on the Ledger Nano once I receive it.

There are still some reputable exchanges that have stood the test of time, but that doesn’t mean that they can be forever reliable of our coins. But I guess people have been blinded by the promises of these centralized exchanges that they even trusted them with all of their coins. And others may also have no choice but to put their coins on the exchanges since they have no real knowledge and skills on holding them for long term in their own hardware wallet. And admit it, people have this mentality to just never want to exert more effort on their own, but only want to stay stress free even if it means trusting the exchanges for long term may mean losing their coins in the end.
1448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: January 07, 2023, 09:29:17 PM
The reason why you thinking like this is because trading strategies are not 100% correct strategies at all. The reason why self-proclaimed gurus are going to promote them is to gain their own popularity and spread their own shitcoins. No strategy will ever be a full proof one.

The only thing that is going to help is buying low and selling high. Rest all indicators are going to only give a prediction and that too will end up 50% correct.

Eventually what I have learnt is that day trading is tough, but in long term trading, just stick to what I said, you will gradually gain profits.
Precisely, there can be no perfect strategies that will make you profitable at all times. They may be completely working at its early days but eventually, some turned out to be not working anymore that’s why strategies need to be improve and become advanced. But I don’t see them becoming obsolete and end up useless in time, of course they can still be useful but you need to know where they can be mostly helpful.
1449  Economy / Economics / Re: Will central banks ultimately fail in their goal of lowering down inflation? on: January 07, 2023, 08:59:32 PM
Not really, they don't need to drop the prices, people are somehow expecting prices to fall and I have no idea why, they just need to keep prices going up just a bit, or not at all, which is quite possible. As long as you give good high interest rates, people will use all that extra money to invest and that means there will be lack of money and that means people will keep the prices cheap to be able to sell because if they keep it high then nobody would buy it since their money is in interest.

As simple as that, it is literally a high school freshmen level mathematics and everyone should be aware of it, nothing complicated going on here.
I don’t put my high hopes on that. Central banks have less chances to lower the inflation down since it’s a worldly effect and is experienced all over the world, and I don’t even think it can still be in controlled either. The only thing they can help the people is to increase the interest rate of our deposits as it can be profitable on the part of their clients. Either way, this inflation will stay for good but hopefully prices will not increase that much that average people will hardly afford it.
1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 07, 2023, 08:40:14 PM
although I know a little bit about some of the ones listed in this thread, I think it's necessary for beginners to know more slang and terms in gambling, I think you need to update and add more information in this thread so that it can be understood by the readers. another beginner  Wink
This can be learned eventually when you chose to be a gambler for quite long years. But I also think it’s necessary that these terms should be learn by beginner gamblers at its early days so that they will understand more and be more associated with gambling. The terms you have posted OP may only be few but definitely they are helping, so hopefully you can add more to these.
1451  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 06, 2023, 11:38:16 PM
I'm sorry to hear about how the current situation and exploding inflation is effecting you and your family.  I think the truth is, however, that it's effecting people a lot more than they realize or are currently willing to realize.  Most of my clients understand the impact inflation is having on their bottom line, but really only so in the very short term, and they simply aren't making changes that are necessary to not effect their long-term.  What I mean is most are willing to spend more than they should be, and it will effect them hard in the long term, in my opinion anyhow.
I would say that in every changes, the effects will also be visible. But when it comes to increasing prices of these basic commodities, no matter what we do, we cannot avoid it but rather adopt it instead. And maybe saving some extra money could also help, and not buying those that are not of high essentials. It’s okay to spend, but make sure to spend it wisely.
1452  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: January 06, 2023, 10:52:27 PM
Those who've seen previous bear markets, survived several winters, please share some hope and courage.
This is not the end, right? Smiley
Do not worry this is not the end, now there are many exceptional holders out there which despite the crypto winter they never had any problem holding their coins, but if you ask me they are an exception more than anything.

For the rest of the investors their first crypto winter is always the hardest, so I do not judge them when they show signs of being worried or they start to doubt themselves as it is to be expected, just remember that bitcoin is simply too good as a technology and that despite its weak price bitcoin is still as good as it was before the crash so it is bound to recover at some point in time.
If you have traced back history, you will know that crypto winter is also an advantage to keep us in accumulation phase and increase bitcoin in our portfolio. So we should not fear it, but embrace it and understand that a bearish market is needed before a bullish market takes over. Just stay patient and keep hodling, this is not the end, but definitely the beginning of our crypto career.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 06, 2023, 10:32:26 PM
Yet 20 years from now the generation today who spend 5 minutes on youtube stories will still think their generation is better than the old ones who spend hours just lining up to a popcorn stall and watching a 3-hour movie. Give them an interesting story that affects and relates to thier lives and they will surely watch them and even talk about it in the pub.

A country that is just devastated by war will have a generation that will most likely be interested in watching war movies and talking about wars.
I wouldn't say that one generation is better than the other, it's all based on what people want and everyone has their right to want whatever they want. Me and my spouse are from the generation that goes to a cinema and wait in line to buy a popcorn and spend a night basically fully on that movie, whereas if you are at home, even if you spend 3 hours watching something on Netflix, you have more than 3 hours and that means it just won't work for you, won't be enough, you need to do something else as well.

But, that doesn't mean kids who like to watch 5-10 episodes of their favourite show that night is any better or worse, it's just preference and that's fine, that's good, we need all kinds of options available to us.
Also, we can’t expect for the different generations to have the same interests and preferences too. Today’s generation are more likely interested in technology and everything about robotics and computer. But I don’t see it working for me either. I still prefer those old type movies rather than seeing these modern ones.
1454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: January 06, 2023, 09:57:59 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
How much faith do you have about the crypto world?

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?

Your money in the bank, are you confidently sure that it is safe?
I mean money that you don't see;
Money you don't hold;
Money you need to sign your signature before you withdraw;
Money that bank can freeze and tell you some regulatory stories;
If you can trust bank to be 100% safe, something you don't control, it then means that bitcoin is a heaven because you will be your own bank.
How do you see that?
Or do you trust the bank more than yourself?
Probably, people are more blinded by banks and they think it’s way safer than any other, including cryptocurrency. But if they will look at it deeply, with bitcoin which is giving us freedom to manage our own funds, that is way more safe and secured than entrusting banks our hard earned money and let them take advantage on it. But I guess, only bitcoin enthusiasts would only know that, and the rest are still bank fanatics.
1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Example of Not your Keys Not your coins on: January 06, 2023, 09:34:41 PM
Thanks to Celsius’s “unambiguous” terms and conditions, any cryptocurrency assets — including stablecoins — that were deposited into Earn Accounts, became Celsius’s property, the filing stated.

I'd say in this case, it's more correct as an example to read the whole terms of service rather than not your keys not your coins, because everyone already know when they deposit to centralized website, the third party has a control over your coins. While in this case, Celsius's terms of service make them win about the coins ownership. If Celcius didn't write such rules, the customers will win this legal court.
That is why if there are terms and conditions listed, we should read and understand them so that we will not end up regretting and blaming ourselves. But even if there are no terms listed, we should never stick to centralized exchanges no matter what because we are giving them the permission to have an access of our account when in fact, it should be only ourselves have the sole access to our own wallet.
1456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and investing, and still very broke.why? Is it spiritual? on: January 05, 2023, 11:45:59 PM
People who believing into spiritual aspects in trading or investing are lacking in experiences; once you gather knowledge and experiences then you start believing into your skills by leaving off any kind of external factors.
I believe in spirituality in life but to say that someone who's good in trading and investing yet, not yet well with financial, there has nothing to do with spiritual about it. There are I know of spiritual law but it's not really connected to this.

I agree that it's about lacking of experience.

Don't know how to manage money, finances and someone might have just been from the lowest up to the top and then is having hard time on keeping up on what's happening to himself so, spending is like becoming a YOLO thing.
Spiritual aspects when it comes to trading and investing are just few points to consider, but it’s not really that significant. However, if you both trade and invest without knowledge, skills and experience, then you should not expect for it to be successful too. They can still be profitable for some time but definitely, those profits will not be sustainable.
1457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 05, 2023, 10:30:02 PM
I do not know about you guys, but I gamble because I like it and because it is a hobby as well as an addiction. I'm good with myself, as I already admitted to having an addiction but tried to find and apply techniques to avoid getting off track and spending all of my money on gambling. It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?

For me, If I know that there is a huge luck coming when I bet on the game. There are times that I just spend my extra money and even If I will win or lose it doesn't matter also if the online casino are providing bonuses such as deposit bonuses or cashback.
Well, bonuses and cash backs are certainly some of the highlights in gambling. But we know that it’s just rare to happen winning from them. And honestly, if we always gamble and lose our capital, for me that would not be fun anymore as I come to gamble to be mostly profitable than just to gamble and then lose them all. Although sometimes losses are just inevitable, but if we always gamble with luck and with some skills aside, I guess we can expect more winnings in gambling.
1458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 05, 2023, 09:23:52 PM
That's definitely one of the things that you can consider when you are talking about trading and if that's what you have experienced so, why not?

For me, the people who are earning a lot are not so noisy about it and just keep it in a low profile unless it's an enormous amount of win and needs to be televised or something.
No one would want to trade without wanting profits in return, as there are a lot of successful traders but chose to be silent and stay low key despite of their huge wins or profits. Those are obviously doing trading to earn a living, regardless if its main source or not. As long as you have great strategies and skills in trading, trading will always be working and profitable in the long run.
1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 02, 2023, 08:53:44 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.

Accepting bitcoin in your business will boost and maximize your future profits. Just don’t be bother with its current value and instead, accumulate more of it. Surely, you will gain huge amount of profits when time comes that bitcoin value will hit its new all time high, but that will only happen if you are highly determined to consider bitcoin as your long term investments. As bitcoin is best for long term investment more than any other cryptocurrency.
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: January 02, 2023, 08:24:46 PM
Will decentralised exchanges get more attention now that FTX secrets is all out? Will people now trust decentralised exchanges more than centralised exchanges? Cos the only thing still standing tall right now is Binance, I believe this is the only CEX people still give full face 😂  but it seems like Uniswap and Pancake will take the lead in near future?
Yes Binance could never be replace as trusted among cex and that would continue for more years to come. Somehow the event circulated on FTX, trigger some users to take a look deep on decentralized approach more. The convenience brought by cex somehow shattered due to a lot of losses of many people and that leaving trust on those very low.

Now that it happened. Surely many will do more security on their funds moving into non custodial wallets and services.
That’s the safest way to keep your funds instead, keeping them into non-custodial wallets. However, for senior citizens and those who are illiterate, who are still hodling their coins, I guess it’s hard for them to manage their hardware wallet and it would be better to just trust those centralized exchanges that have remain reputable and are still not hacked at the moment.
