the numbers doesn't look very promising :/ I hope the BTC prices go up soon
Yes, this table makes me depressed with my current hardware investments. I honestly wish I would have never ran group buys for mining hardware. If difficulty continues to go up like it is, it is looking like almost every mining equipment investment I have made has negative ROI. It was never my intention to host group buys for hardware in which investors lose money. FML & screw the mining manufacturers which are basically well played scams thus far.

Yes, it seems reasonable considering this: http://bitcoin.sipa.beThere are so many companies and securities releasing hash power in Q4 this year. I would not be surprised if the network continues its current growth rate through the end of the year. Also, I think a large percentage of manufacturers will setup large mining farms using their own equipment at cost. Notice how none of the newer companies have stated they will not mine on the Bitcoin network. This will push difficulty up much higher & much faster than anyone anticipated. This is not me hating on just Cointerra by the way. I think almost all current consumer mining hardware equipment is overpriced. They are not the only ones by far... I just would like to see them succeed because they are from my home state of Texas, so I am giving them constructive criticism.

I'm glad they have taken my advice & advice from the community on lowering prices. However, it's still not a good investment. It seems they're trying to find the highest price that the market will bear. I don't think they're there yet, but certainly some people that don't understand the economics of Bitcoin mining will still order from them. Even if delivered on time you're likely to lose $1,200... not exactly my idea of a good investment. http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/85e10d5a76They don't seem to understand the risk/reward ratio needs to be just right for people to risk this much money on pre-orders. If there is no possible reward even if they deliver on time, I don't know how they expect to sell their products (unless they are just planning on mining with the equipment themselves at cost).

You can do that.
Thank you sir. I just wanted to make sure deposit addresses weren't changed after each deposit.

Prison? Jeez.. I'm as upset with the delays as anyone, but this seems a little harsh.
I do agree though that Avalon are basically scammers at this point.

I put up a poll on our forums for a back up plan in regards of what to do if I am not able to negotiate a better deal with an ASIC manufacturer.
Please go vote!

Hey... CH !
i thought you were holding out for couple weeks, i think you said maybe a week .. I was gathering coins. I was hoping to take the ride with you guys.
Edit:
Let me know if you open back up..
Zedicus
Hi Zedicus, I feel bad for you. I remember you telling me you were getting BTC for this through coinbase or something similar. If you still want to invest with us, please PM me and I'll arrange something. Please know that if we don't end up using your funds, that you will be refunded in full and left out anyways. But, I would like to try to include you because I feel bad. Anyways.. PM me if you want to work something out!

I envision Custom Hardware with three subforums.
-Custom Hardware- general custom hardware discussion -Custom Hardware Manufacturers- every vendor specific thread (whether official or not) -Group Buys-
We should start a thread in the Meta subforum or did someone beat me to it?
I posted a new thread in the meta subforums. I was just lazy and quoted ckolivas because I think he had the best idea of how to arrange the subforum. Go post your support here!! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282006.0

RE: ASIC vendor (Avalon, BFL, etc..) hate/smear/scam/delay/lawsuit/"BFL cut their toenails" threads. I think ckolivas' said it best: It is completely out of control and is unacceptable.
It's time to split off the threads and make the subforums suitable.
I suggest renaming "Custom hardware" to "Custom hardware development" and adding another hardware subforum "Vendor customer discussion"
Thread this topic stemmed from (currently stickied in Custom Hardware): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=281307.0Except, I suggest leaving Custom Hardware for general custom hardware discussion that's not vendor specific and not having to do with development. So.. it'd be like: Custom Hardware Custom Hardware Development Vendor Customer Discussion

I went all in on this one. I'm going to be rich!

Thanks for the explanation. I never would of thought any Bitcoin ASIC would have been unprofitable at this point to ship it across the world. Difficulty has gone up so fast, I'm scared. Someone hold me and tell me it's going to be alright. Congratulations on your build, I wish you were based in the USA and I'd buy some.

Quick question, sorry if it is answered somewhere. Do deposit addresses change, or can I use the same one multiple times? I would like to point my merge mined coins directly to the exchange.. I will of course exchange them and get the BTC off so I'm not storing them on there, I'd just like to send them there for the convenience. Thanks

Hey you added us Little update that might be of interest, we aren't launched yet. June WAS the plan, but we then took a long hard look at where we were going and decided it wasn't good enough, so we changed things up quite a lot. Current target is "sometime" in September - TBA Your blurb though still summarizes the main points well despite the new additions (and many firsts) of: Encrypted transactions with additional anonymity functions which make it tougher than BTC and cheaper than Zerocoin. Encrypted messaging system built in. First (I believe) P2P decentralized exchange Self regulating supply determined by demand signals in the system which can NOT be influenced externally POS interest (used to balance inflationary supply adjustments deemed necessary by the above) Tons more new cool stuff, but they are the main USP's Thanks for the info, I will fix it.

"Only available in China." ... So you came here to tease us with a product that we can't buy? Or, were you just trying to show off? Or...

CH,
I sent payment yesterday (see our other forum for TX details). It is in addition to my previous shares (should have 8.44 now) I wasn't sure if you wanted me to post in both forums, so I decided to just because.
Yep, I got you.

Hey CH,
What payout address do you have for me. I feel like I never said.
Honestly I haven't got that together yet. I will make a nice spreadsheet showing ownership percentages and pay out addresses. I will ask everyone to make sure I have the correct address on file before any dividends are payed. So.. there will be plenty of time to get that worked out. My apologies for not being able to check now, I'm quite busy juggling work and other responsibilities. Thanks, Ch

I feel that the hosting limit has been reached. I won't know for sure until we make our last hardware order, but I am no longer allowing people to send in funds.
We have about 199 Bitcoins for our last purchase. As many of you know, I am trying to reach out to the hardware manufacturers to secure us the best deal possible. As of right now, options are limited for hardware that will actually break even, therefore I'm looking into other alternatives. Again, please excuse me for holding onto group funds for this long and not making a purchase. I am looking for a deal among deals that would really knock this investment out of the park and make it a great opportunity for all involved.
Thanks for all of your support! If any extra funds are needed for our final purchase, then I will open this back up at a later time. For now consider it closed.
Thank you,
Ch
