I'll back Mexico not lose the game (more likely a win), but a draw would also not be enough for Saudi Arabia to make it to the next round, except if Argentina fails to emerge victorious against Poland. |

As I'm expecting USA to score plenty of goals against Iran today, I predicted the most goal scoring team of the day as USA in Sportsbet's special bets. As we are leaving 2 matches behind it is enough for USA to score 2 goals for now. But England is the team I'm afraid of as they might explode today. Even though Southgate adopts a controlled game usually, the performance they showed against Iran in their first group match shows their potential clearly.

From the picture you posted above, it looks pretty clearly like it's the correct call, the player in question's knee is above the last defender if you take his arm out of the picture and that's always the case when ruling for an offside.
England have broken the deadlock with 2 goals in quick succession, thanks to new introduced starters, Rashford and Foden, both players have been heavily involved in almost every attacking threat that England have so far, I guess that's the end of any atom of hope the Welsh team could have had coming into this game. |

I also didn't see such convincingly dominant performance coming from USA beforehand, IRAN have done actually better against the other 2 opponents than USA fared against them, so I felt IRAN should be able to absolved all form of pressure from USA. strongest group, three participants from most pools on the forum, as when you have Brasil, Argentina and France is same group on WC not sure about the draw, it could be a setup nevertheless, last round just started, and good luck to all three rivals, enjoy the world cup and hopefully at least Serbia will pass the group, if I fail I'm not gonna lie this by far one of the best competition I've witnessed and I'd love to see something for every other competition with this kind of format, tournaments likes the AFCON, Euro and even the forum infamous Uefa Champions League, it would make perfect, I'd don't even mind it having an entry like every other tournament, just something different from usual SuperBRU oriented pools.

Politics and Sport are two different things and that is what FIFA has always kick against, no racism, no religion and no favouritism but it seems the more they try to avoid this things, the more they occur which makes me to remember the speech made by Morgan Freeman in the World Cup ground opening. he asked the boy that "what bring us together today here is bigger than what divide us and how long could we make it last?'' and the Qatar boy recite some quran a reference that it is through respect and tolerance, this message was made to counter this kind of rumours and hate among us. Football has unite us all irrespective of our religion, respect other people religions and culture, we can't attack them because of their culture and looking at their performance so far, they will not be making it out in the group stage, just free Qatar and lets enjoy football for just this 1 month.  FIFA in my opinion deserve as much of every criticism that have come their way and more, because Qatar hosting this year's World Cup was clearly out of political and money influenced motive for over 8 years that Qatar have been confirmed to be the host, FIFA are well aware of the religious stance of the country when it comes to gender equality, gambling, drinking and whatnot, but they chose to be ignorant of these rules and the impact it would have on the entire world and their diverse cultures coming together into such a setting with highly restrictive social activities, this should have been debated and cleared over the period of those years of preparation, it shouldn't come as a surprise or such as breach of contract with Budweiser (a beer company in a unwelcomed country) being the major sponsor of the tournament. |

Nice goal from Füllkrug, he's really an enrichment for Germany.
Füllkrug could have even scored a second goal if Musiala notices him and doesn't try to score himself but makes an assist to Füllkrug in a better position.
Maybe that was Musiala getting back at him for stealing first goal from him, because it seemed Musiala was going to attempt the shot, but the maybe it would gone wide or Unai Simon getting to save it, Füllkrug had a better angle and with his typical no. 9 instinct. it was easier for him to find the back of the net despite the fact that it was a somewhat tight angle to score from. By the way, doesn't Germany need only victory today? After all, if it plays a draw, then its fate will not be completely in its hands and will depend on the games of other teams.
Since Germany has achieved a draw, it's getting very interesting now. Germany needs to win against Costa Rica for sure as Germany is only at 1 point currently, Spain is at 4 points, Japan and Costa Rica at 3 For all the other teams, even a draw could be enough, depending on results. Of course, Costa Rica will face a difficult task because it's Germany and Germany needs a win. Spain can even afford to lose (if it's not a massive defeat and Germany doesn't score many goals against Costa Rica) because Spain has a much better goal difference. I don't think Spain will want to get complacent just yet, and I'd expect them still go all out to secure a win vs Japan knowing that the job isn't done yet, but I believe that how the result of the final standings in Group F, between Morocco, Belgium and Croatia turn out might also affect Spain's approach to the game because they might try to avoid the toughest team from that Group, even if it requires them to pursue a draw or try to win the game. |

Too early to give up, there is still more than half of tournament games remaining. It's difficult, but few exact scores still can improve your situation significantly. And there is still chance to take yellow cap. Yes! Thanks mate, I think I only drew that absurd conclusion because how terrible my picks have been, meanwhile I wasn't even checking the leaderboard and table in general to have know that everyone are also doing not so well in these fixtures, after getting 2 exact score, the first from Argentina and the other one was a courtesy of the 1-1 between Spain and Germany, I've moved up 25 places and I'm currently topping the leaderboard for the match day, if only I can get a couple more results go my way for the final four fixtures of the round, then I could end up with the Yellow Cap. |

Lot's of discussion for Argentina questions so I guess you guys liked it. Feel free to give some feedback on questions, they are not set in stone. We want to make them interesting which I believe we accomplished, but we also want to make them in a way that your answers get a bit more of spread. It really isn't that exciting if everybody goes for the same outcome, we will have to make more effort on this part I guess.
The questions and options are adequate for group stage games; however, I would like to see more questions about goal scorers, goals, most corners, and MOTM awards; the questions should be more difficult, with fewer questions from the R16. Just my $0.02 @igehhh suggestions make sense too, and in addition going forward, I'd suggest questions like that of Argentina but they're a lot of options 4 or 5 choices to select from, and for the Goal scorers, combinations would make sense too, like will either of two the following players score ago or an assist, then options like Messi will score and provide an assist, then options like just Goal only, Assist Only, or Both and Neither, I'm sure questions like this will likely divide the answers, then you can also use possession range will a team have, could be an underdog or favourite, the with options like Argentina will have 40-44, 45-49, 55-60, more than 60, less than 40 and finally like how long will Paredes play for, then options like; Paredes not to play, less than 20 minutes, between 20-40, between 41-56, 57-74, 75 or more but not full time, and full time. |

Usually Argentina wins against Mexico, specially when they really have to, however the question is trickier than it seems because of the possession, Mexico usually plays for possession and should have most of the possession even if they get wrecked in goals, as happened in 2010, a 3-1 win for Argentina but the Mexicans got more possession than Argentina. I would not be surprised at all to see a solid Argentina win by 2 or 3 goals and Mexico still with more possession. EDIT: in the 2010 game Argentina was with 51% possession despite the 3-1, I don't know why I remembered the Mexicans with more possession. However got only two corner kicks in the whole game, what makes the question even more unpredictable. It was a fortunate goal for Lewa as the defender gave him a free goal  Lol! That's what it is with this world cup, Lewandowski was unfortunate with two goals, could have scored an hattrick easily but I would have taken that two unlucky goals for him, over the single fortunate one, as he was my captain for the MD2, that hattrick would have done me a great deal, but 1 and 1 assist isn't such a bad one to settle for to be honest, and I'm not going to be changing it. I believe Saudi Arabia's government gesture towards their victory against Argentina must have definitely influenced the players performance today, they've been the better side clearly attacking and pressing the Polish sides as they weren't the underdogs of the group before the opening match, Szczęsny with an outstanding first half performance to keep his team ahead after yet another controversial penalty was awarded in this tournament, at least this time it was with VAR's help. |

Yeah, I. Definitely going to enjoy this one as betting and fantasy have gone out the window early. I might rebuyin during KO but for now, might just look at pure total fantasy with entire team decked out attack. And super cheap midfield to compensate.

It would have been a nightmare, If I had dedicated more time into research before picking my team and making substitutions, I was already pessimistic with the manner players update about 2 days to the world cup and there are still popular players missing from the game, and right up till now there are no indications for players injured, suspended, even Karim Benzema remains with no indication of not being available in the world cup. I want to believe there will an update in the KO after half of the teams are eliminated already, but if there are no changes by then, then I don't think there would any at a latter stage in the tournament. |

Gareth Southgate looked really clueless with his ideas, he just brought in couple of players and used the exact template they play in their respective clubs, every of their subs looked really tactically dumb and no changes, Rashford for Saka and Henderson for Bellingham doesn't look tactically different, I was expecting a division from the 4-2-3-1 when it looked clearly not to be working for the team in the first half, but every of his changes when he finally decided he's had enough of it were just repetition of the same system, just different players. |

Sorry about that guys, we were traveling whole day and didn't have opportunity to check stuff before. Our mistake.
