Fuzzy brought up an interesting fact today. Did anyone else notice there is a shortage of miners. Israeli's, and a few US sites are sold out, and bitmain too...

That's because they do ship their miners, not like you. And also the other miners are much better than yours. What a surprise!

Yea we do to. Smiley

What is the order date of the last miner that you shipped?

The last order date of AMT miners was somewhere in April?

What order did you shipped last? When it was made?

It's not like you can get a 3Th/s Neptune now. If you buy a Neptune now you will get it in September too. There is nothing on stock right now.

Do you really think they will be shipping in september? They said they expect to ship batch 1 and 2 before the end of this month..

Right they will ship 2 batches in 1 week.

You only need 0.028btc to afford datatank/giant mining operation rates.

It's a fair comparison because your customers need to spend $5,300 + $0.15/kwh where as datatank customers spend $17 for 18GH. Please show me hosting at $0.025/kwh available to your customers. I doubt you can even find below $0.05/kwh.

Yes someone could probably build an air cooled DC but even at $0.025/kwh immersion cooling would save ~$200,000/year in electricity costs alone.

What will 0.028btc get you in order to afford datatank mining?

200k$ per year saved in cooling electricity costs right? What is the cost for the Datatank?

2364  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 19, 2014, 04:28:45 AM
Nice. Wasted money on the immersion cooling setup which isn't being used for the moment. Absolutely no preparing for the gen3 immersion cooled setup and 0 vision of the future since FC build his immersion cooling in a place where power is $0.15/kwh. Let's see on what else will FC waste shareholders money...

You really have no idea what you're talking about do you?

The immersion DC has likely already payed itself off in electricity savings alone.

Btw if there is zero vision for the future at $0.15/kwh what does that mean for all of your customers who will be forced to pay that much or more?

From cooling electricity saving you mean. Please show me the math behind it. How much did the immersion cooling setup cost? Is it safe to say that it was around 500k$ and 1M$? If yes then you really saved that amount of money from the cooling in just a few months of use?

FC has gen3 chips in hand for over 2 months and he is unable to use the chips in the immersion cooled setup. Right now the setup is doing nothing right? Why? Can't FC use gen3 chips at that electricity cost?

i wonder if AM will again have a starving phase of low to no divs until sellout of gen 4, because that is one of my main concerns.

This is why I hope they set up at least one behemoth 20MW datacenter with cheap electricity so that we can have steady divs until gen4.

Don't they have a 500MW (or KW?) immersion cooled setup ready? Actually it is filled with gen1 chips, but no idea why aren't they using with their gen3 chips..

I wish it was 500MW. It's 500kw and not yet converted to gen3 hardware. (As far as I know)

It was turned off last month because electricity costs were more than earnings. At $0.15/kwh I don't really see the 2 current AM DCs being viable for long.

New facility:

Since you guys are talking about datacenters, I'm going to shamelessly plug ASICSPACE, the one I'm working on:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=657461

We're still building it, and still working out the details on pricing, but I'm pretty sure our prices will be better than anyone else's by a very wide margin. Right now we're thinking $90/kW/month for month-to-month contracts, and around $68/kW/mo if you pay 12 months at once. No per-kWh usage charge, the $90 or $68 is everything.

We won't accept anybody's money until the facility is online or nearly so, and we can't currently guarantee that we'll be online in time for your preorders. However, I will state that I myself have quite a few August SP30s coming in, so I have a strong incentive to have everything running by August. If you're getting September SP30s and you're willing to wait until around August 1st before making a decision, I think we will probably be able to accommodate you. My guess is that we'll have half a MW available in September, with more to come soon after.

We plan to do a p2pool node. We'd prefer email-based pool configuration and overclocking. I'd like to also offer customers the option of port-forwarded access to their machines' web UIs or SSH ports if they can accept the reduction in security that comes therewith, but I can't guarantee that yet.
2368  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining ASICs Technologies Promises 6TH/s Bitcoin Miner And 200 MH/s Scrypt Miner on: June 18, 2014, 08:52:19 PM
i gotta email yesterday saying i have 5 days to pay the full amount [65%] for my order otherwise i would be moved to another batch

i have checked the T&C and this is a breach of contract, also considering i would be picking up the product from Holland in person and triple checking the machines

i have yet seen proof of any scrypt based machines and getting a little cold with my deposit

I advise you to not send any money until you see at least a live demo of any miner.

64 bytes from 80.240.136.110: seq=16 ttl=56 time=40.201 ms

I think you might have pinged from your local computer?

Oops. I pinged http://minefast.coincadence.com/ not CentralCavern. Sorry. Yeah good ping on the centralcavern pool. Anything else important to know about p2pool? I might change to it, but I need to know the important stuff about it.
2371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 18, 2014, 08:18:38 PM
always mine on a p2pool node closest to where your miners are... and check your ping time before you do so - anything under 50ms is OK, the lower the better.
 Wink

I haven't read much about p2pool, but I'm getting 110ms from Iceland to CentralCavern so guess I won't mine there. Each p2pool has it's own luck and mines separately than the rest of p2pools or they are "connected"? I'm asking this because maybe I can rent a server from Iceland to setup a p2pool there. Does it need good hardware?

I got a message from Advania today that because of the 2 day delay in setup, they would waive the 150€ setup fees.

The hosting itself is very professional and i had no problems so far, they were just overwhelmed with work that week.

Temperature at intake shows 18°C (in the summer!), which is really good and allows full OCing of the sp10.

To summarize, I am very happy with sending my rig there. Excellent cooling, good connectivity with low ping and sensible pricing are among the benefits of colocating your equipment there.

That's very nice! I had one day delay and I would be happy with 50% of installation fee waived Smiley

I am expecting 2 more things: bitcoin payments and VPN and I'm moving my SP30s with them.
2374  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 18, 2014, 05:24:36 PM
They have a goal of 5 1.4mw containers and up to 10.

That would be 10-20ph worth of chips.

Also they somehow managed to get electricity costs all the way down to $0.02/kwh which is perfect for franchising. I'm hoping for at least 10-20ph.

20PH=0.35W/GH. How did you get this number? Has it been proven in a DataTank environment?

I misspoke it should be 1.2MW/container.

20PH at 12MW is 0.6w/gh and yes it has been tested.

Well that only means that you could fit 30PH which is 50% more hashrate using SP30 chips.
2375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 18, 2014, 03:05:08 PM
At a diff increase of only 15%

6TH in September will get you 7+ BTC by the end of the year
3TH now will get you 10+ BTC by the end of the year.

3TH now + 3TH in August will get you 16+ BTC by the end of the year

I trust you can do the basic maths and compare this to the number of BTC you could buy now with the same $$$

I see that you can do basic math which is good, but you are forgetting something.

You really should learn to pick your arguments RoadStress …

6TH @ $4500, 18% increase in difficulty, $.15kwh electricity cost, starting in 45 days (early-mid August) will earn less than 7 BTC before it is operating in the RED. At today's BTC prices, you could purchase more BTC than the SP30 will earn before it becomes a boat anchor.

Presumably, since you are a genius at match you have figured this out for yourself. The only question we all are asking is why are you shilling so hard for SP30 machines when you know buying BTC is a better option.

So you deny your own statement. Good one. If the future is as bad as you say with 6TH/s then it's actually worse for the Neptune "delivered" one month earlier since it has 1/2 of the hashrate and more power consumption.

BTC is a better option when? At what exchange rate and sold when?

I see that you can do basic math which is good, but you are forgetting something. One Neptune was worth ~12k$ (VAT included) and one August SP30 was worth $4,500 (in my GB). The BTC difference isn't worth the difference in payment. As for the August delivery of the free 3Th/s we will have to see about that. I am reserved about that.

I agree with you...  But there are people that have tried to convince people (and has worked I'm sure) that if you get 6TH in September and nothing now you will end up making more money.  Those people are just clever salesmen ... Terrible for the community...

It's not like you can get a 3Th/s Neptune now. If you buy a Neptune now you will get it in September too. There is nothing on stock right now.

hmm, we bought 3thmin, and are getting another 3th min in end of batch 3 for 10k CAbatch...   I think you may need to re-sharpen your pencil
Have you joined the team of trolls here advertising other companies shit too?   WTF?

Please post your 3Th/s Neptune to a single Eligius address to track it's earnings. When you get your free Neptune point that to the same address. We draw the line on 31 December 2014.

So you are selling cheap inefficient use of power in an expensive immersion cooled setup. Much marketing, less hardware.

Roadstress sp30 offering:$0.88/gh 0.5w/gh $0.15/kwh (starts hashing in a few months)

Datatank offering: $0.93/gh 0.6w/gh $0.025/kwh (starts hashing in a few weeks)

0.6w/gh is not inefficient and <$0.5/w for cooling is not expensive.

Please be more bad evasive at comparing apples with oranges. Comparing different power prices shows exactly how bad intended are you. Are you implying that an SP30 CAN'T be hosted for the same $0.025/kwh or what? Anyone that can afford a DataTank can also afford building his own air cooled datacenter in the WA state where power is $0.025/kwh! Comparing $0.15/kwh with $0.025/kwh is simply lame.

Also please show me demo of the Datatank reaching 0.6w/gh, otherwise is just in your dreams.

Also how can you get better numbers with an sp30? Datatank hardware production costs are $0.53/gh vs your material costs of $0.5/gh. Will you be selling SP30 in a few weeks for $3200 each? (including shipping)

Again comparing apples with oranges! How can you compare datatank hardware production costs with full miners production costs? Unbelievable!

As soon as these datatanks go up for sale you will have to match their price to compete gather preorders.

Right as for the delayed rx-miners? I am sure sales are booming now with the S3 announced.
2378  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: June 18, 2014, 02:18:35 PM
Anyone got any news on how Payment to Hosting company works , what are the payment options. e.g (all up front or on a month by month basis).

Asked Spondoolies for this info two days ago, no answer.

The email said that hosting required a 6 month commitment, which would indicate to me that it required 6 months up front. What other commitment would there be for a company selling hosting to a bunch of geeks on the internet from all over the world?

You won't be required to pay all up front for the 6 months. The commitment would be that you agree and commit to pay for the next 6 months of hosting. I am sure that if you won't pay starting any month that won't be a problem because they still have your equipment and they will not release it to you until you pay up + maybe you will get blacklisted with them. That's how I see it at least. Things don't need to be complicated at all.

Not complicated at all, just in advance. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg7367669#msg7367669

Which makes it the least complicated. I don't like the outcome either btw.
