1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Wallet should be suggested to a newbie? on: September 07, 2014, 07:40:32 PM
Sure go for Electrum, but not bitcoin qt! Also I think that newbies don't need cold storage and if they have big amounts invested in bitcoin they can surely take the time to learn about the whole process or at least have someone teach them how to do it.
I think this is something that is very dangerous for a newbie to try to do. Especially when it is not in a not public environment (via PM or at your house for example) as no one will be able to look at the advice being given and can say the advice is good/bad. I would personally almost assume that someone giving advice in private is going to tell a newbie to do something that would make it easy for the person giving advice to easily steal the bitcoin being put in cold storage.

You didn't get it. Having someone teach you how to setup a cold wallet isn't the equivalent of actually using those wallets. It means that the newbie can learn and he can do it by himself at home. If you are recommending an wallet, you can also tell him to protect his future private keys/wallet like real money. Once the newbies knows all the process of setting up a cold wallet he can do it for an infinite times.

It's really not even about who you trust more. It just doesn't make any sense to imagine that the Spongebobtech CEO knows more about Asicminer than Asicminers own CEO. Does Guy also know what color underwear I'm wearing?

Why would so many competitors give Guy all this sensitive info? And what kind of NDA prevents him from disclosing the source, yet allows him to disclose all the info?

Ok first statement has no sense. Guy never stated that he knows more about AM than AM's CEO. No logic. He just stated what AM's CEO told him. Nothing more.

Also I am imagining that a meeting between 2 CEOs is a bit different than a 2 regular persons meeting (like you and me) so that's why you don't get this thing about all the sensitive info. You should start thinking outside of your own box of thoughts and admit that not everyone is like you.

Care to elaborate the countless times when he was wrong? And don't give me the SP30 specs.

Just to list a few:
...

So you gave me as examples some future predictions and you are comparing them to statements about past and present FACTS! You are either trying to mislead again or your  personal logic doesn't let you see that you are comparing apples with oranges. In your own little box of thoughts you think that Guy is wrong about some FACTS just because he was wrong on some future predictions which may or may not come true.

When should the shareholders expect the next financial report? That should clear things up.

Hi,

Where can I email for tech support for the hosted units?
One of mine dropped to 4TH for the past few days.

E-mail support@, but don't expect an instant reply.
1584  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 14nm ASIC is coming! on: September 07, 2014, 04:28:55 PM

I'm not believing anything BA says at this point.

[Thanks for the info, I've got 2 on order but they haven't been dispatched yet, i know they dispatch in the order they where placed, what order number was yours?, just wondering when ill get mine.]

Are you in the August or September batch?
1586  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TuringStations Razor Bitcoin Miner (The worlds first 7 TH miner) shipping now on: September 07, 2014, 02:33:35 AM
For sure they prefer Bitcoin because to get a refund will be impossible. But if you pay with Visa,MasterCard you have 120 days to Chargeback(Chargeback is a process that allows debit and credit card holders to reverse transactions when there is a problem with the goods or services they've purchased using their cards )
So is a SCAM 100%

But if you pay by card you will need to provide some personal documents to the scammers and I wouldn't advise anyone to do it.
1587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 07, 2014, 02:31:15 AM
The fault of not providing the correct power cables is not with the colo, it with the supplier of the equipment.

The C14 male and female is fairly common I would be surprised if they didn't have them, but the C19 usually comes on only really high end servers and things like massive switches and UPS's PSU's

Never blamed the DC for not having cables. I was just trying to find a backup plan/solution for the missing cable not provided by the manufacturer Smiley

so how are this machines now?

Hashing steady and stable!
1588  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 07, 2014, 02:28:20 AM
The sales price of chips stay a relatively high margin because our option of building our own devices and sell/deploy is always wide open.

Basing your assumptions on a rumor from a competing company's CEO who has been wrong countless times and almost never right is simply idiotic.

FC has outright denied the rumors started by Guy that AM is selling at cost and FC's word can be taken at face value unlike Guys.

Guy has never been a reliable source and he has proven he will say anything that could garner a few more preorders.

Then it's a matter of who we trust. You trust FC. I trust Guy. I am sure that he doesn't want to build a career in bitcoin mining based on lies and on false rumors just like others. He plans to be in this business for a long time and his actions towards his customers prove my point. Don't mistake him with scammer Josh Zerlan or with redbull boy Joshua Zipkin who has no problem stealing money from old army veterans. Care to elaborate the countless times when he was wrong? And don't give me the SP30 specs.

Guess we will have to wait to see how will this unfold, but the reason that I don't believe FC is because he also stated that the self mining started mid-july, but there is no evidence for that except that they have 200Th/s on BTCGuild. No dividends, no official speed, nothing.

So you are just advertising and earning money for every sale you are responsible for correct? I'm not sure how that isn't a form of selling.

Again, why not sell advertise hardware for BFL?

First of all I wasn't aware that BFL had an affiliate program. Second of all I don't intend to support hardware that is being shipped 13 months later and that is bad quality. I think that being fair and trying to recommend good products/services has more returns than trying to make a quick buck while screwing people.

I see no problem in earning some money by supporting a good product. You are earning money too in form of dividends when you are supporting AM's products so it's the same thing. Except that people can see that I am affiliated to a company, while you don't seem to be affiliated to any company to a newbie when in fact you are an AM shareholder so from my point of view I am being more fair than you. When your signature will be "AM shareholder" then we will be equals regarding products/companies affiliation.

Whats in the racks behind the Neptunes? Bare Jupiters?

Looks like bare Jupiters just like in KnC's DC.
1590  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 07, 2014, 01:23:20 AM
Yeah I know they come with C14 to C19 cables for plugging into PDU's.

Problem is I found out that that only sent one cable with each SP30 instead of two, which means I'm running half speed till I can get Amazon to deliver to the datacenter on Monday. Sad

Care to share where are you hosting them? A DC should have all sort of cables around. I think they are required by their internal rules for safety reasons.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 07, 2014, 01:21:42 AM
ok so:
when i had just 1 miner added to PSU knc still seen 2:...
plugging other miners does nothing - it says stopped but still sees this 2 miners.
is it possible i got all 5 miners fucked? or should i somehow reset the controller?

Well you have a weird controller board then and I'm out of troubleshooting questions. I think you will need to wait a few more hours for more people to read this and they will help you.

Did you buy this miner from someone or you have it directly from KnC and it suddenly stopped working?
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 07, 2014, 12:18:27 AM
ok im on it btw aint this hashrate bad?

It's bad, but give it time to get some speed maybe? 1-2 mins?

1594  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: September 07, 2014, 12:16:10 AM
This is September. Last September I sold BTC2000+. Now,

"I will not sell 2000 BTC this month. I will not sell 2000 BTC this month. I will not sell 2000 BTC this month."

 Grin

Please sell so we can have another liftoff! Please sell so we can have another liftoff! Please sell so we can have another liftoff!

Why not sacrifice 2k BTC for a bigger wealth? I would If I had at least 4k BTC!

One of the ONLY reasons to sell 2k BTC at this time, for a large BTC holder, would be to attempt to manipulate BTC prices downward, which should NOT be something that some one like Rpietilla should be suggesting as a possibility..   In this case, his aspiration would likely be to buy in at a lower price and then to have 2400 BTC rather than 2000 BTC... good for him (if it works) , but NOT good for the many smaller time holders who do NOT have such manipulation abilities..

Some may suggest that 2000BTC is NOT enough to downwardly manipulate the market, and that could be correct - except to the extent that there may be some coordinating with other dumps or dumpers.

You didn't get it. When he sold 2kBTC last year the price went to the moon. I want to repeat the same experience this year too.

Who is that rpietila guy anyway?

A guy that bought a castle with money from bitcoin.

guys my KNC miner sees just 1 cube. any ideas what to do?

Have you tried to power the cubes one by one to see if there is an issue with any of them?

i tried to hard reset but doesnt work. clicked 5 times, 5 secs, 5 times - nothing.
now other thing i see is.. i ticked bfgminer yet it mines with cgminer on this 1 cube.

currently it sees 2 miners out of 4. at slot 2 and slot 6.

im using 2 PSUs:  EVGA 1000W GOLD, Seasonic 1050W GOLD and connected 4 cubes with them.

any ideas?

You haven't answered to my question. Try to power the cubes one by one to see if you have a defective one. If all cubes are working then try to power 2 cubes with different power supplies. Then try the same thing with the other 2 cubes. Give report here afterwards.

This is what I am not understanding. I have to be missing something. In the new Armory, we dont even need to run the Bitcoin QT separately. Although, if you want to setup a cold storage, the process gets a little complicated considering you need a couple of computers, but even as is, Armory is way superior rather most superior with the kind of backup and restore they provide. Bitcoin QT does not provide any such feature.

Of course Electrum is faster and little easier considering no downloads and the benefits you loose out in comparison to Armory would probably not matter to a newbie.

Sure go for Electrum, but not bitcoin qt! Also I think that newbies don't need cold storage and if they have big amounts invested in bitcoin they can surely take the time to learn about the whole process or at least have someone teach them how to do it.
1598  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 06, 2014, 11:17:05 PM
Do you think that the reason you are constantly insulted may be because you are constantly making absurd/baseless assumptions about how much AM is failing/will fail?

Well neither you or any of the shareholder don't know for sure if I am wrong or not so you don't know that I am making absurd assumptions or not until you see exactly for how much profit they sell the chips. As for baseless, well they aren't baseless. I am basing my assumption on what Guy said and also on the lack of dividends/information/other projects. A 28nm mask+chips don't cost 10M$.

So I guess this means you've completely justified ripping off naive noobs by selling them SPtech hardware?

Serious question, if you don't care the slightest about ROI, why not just be a used car salesman for BFL instead? Just like spongebobtech, bfl makes reliable and pretty hardware at an incredibly unreasonable price.

I told you in the past that I am not selling anything. I am just supporting their hardware. Having an affiliate link and praising their quality hardware isn't selling.

Is this a new trend on this topic? I am not drunk, but I'm seeing A LOT multiple posts from the same person. Is this something like the macarena dance?

People repasting stuff thats been deleted by BA basically..

Ok got it. Thanks.

Josh will be suing me from prison.

I will donate to you a fraction of a bitcoin if you put him behind bars just to show to the tard that people ARE ready and ARE actually using fractionated coins.
