update: Upgrade to 2.3.46 fixed the issue.

Happy New Year!
1402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 05, 2014, 10:15:09 AM
Hello, oOne of my miners performance decreased a bit (~10%) .. I checked the ASIC Events and it looks like there is an issue with the bottom board. Loop9 OFF.

I already rebooted the miner and restarted the miner gate couple of times ... anyone saw this before?

----BOTTOM BOARD------
PSU-BOT[EMERSON1200]: 1392->1280w[1280 1264 1260] (lim=1335) 0c cooling:0/0x2000

LOOP[9] OFF (no data on loop)
27: disabled (i2c good)
28: disabled (i2c good)
29: disabled (i2c good)

[H:HW:3868Gh[2114+1754],W:1810,L:0,A:27,MMtmp:0 TMP:(20)=>=>=>(63,44)]

thx

I got the same on one miner. What have I done is set both PSUs to 1340W (on 220V+) so they can re-optimize. You should get ~4200 from that miner.
1403  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Still buying Hardware? on: October 05, 2014, 09:43:40 AM
Let me guess, you noobs think " why buy btc when you can mine for free ? ". Just spend $1.5k on a computer, and get btc forever right?

Awesome, keep buying.

What about those who got coins instead of miners? "Why mine when you can buy them?"
1404  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 04, 2014, 07:41:20 PM
About the git tag... that's coming.  0.92.2-testing got about zero people testing it, so I never did a real release of it until 0.92.3 came along and I decided to skip the 0.92.2 release and focus on that.  Furthermore, my release script failed to create the signed tag, and I decided I would fix it later rather than further delaying the release.

I'll see if I can get the signed tag out today.  Sorry for the delay.

As for the 0.9.3 signatures:

http://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?search=laanwj%40gmail.com&op=index

Wladimir has taken over the Core release signing process.  It used to be Gavin (0x1FC730C1), but this time the SHA256SUMS file is signed by Wladimir's key (0x2346c9a6).  I trust that key because it is signed by Gavin's key (0x1FC730C1) which has been used for every prior release as far back as... 2011?

I have checked the signatures on all Core downloads and have made them part of the Secure Downloader within Armory, so you can download them without having to check the signatures.  If you trust me to check the signatures properly then you can trust the downloads in the Secure Downloader.  This is one of the reasons I made the secure downloader, to transfer some of the burden of checking signatures from you to me!

Got it. Thank you! You are the best!
1405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 04, 2014, 01:52:13 PM

Yes I have entered mininig pool information.
I ordered 3 machines. 1 machine always had a error so i've messaged spondoolie.
The other two machines were connected to slush pool and were running for a few hours until this message appeared. I've entered a backup pool information so if slush goes down it goes into the second one. But still it is not working.

Have any idea?

Spondoolies are on holiday I guess so they will get back to me after Monday i think.

Have you entered correct host information? Restarted MinerGate a few times? Tried different pools?
1406  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 04, 2014, 01:17:16 PM
The only requirement is that you upgrade your own version of Core to 0.9.3 -- which has been updated in the secure downloader as well!

I have an issue with 0.9.3 because this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=799967.msg9017618#new seems to have stopped. I haven't bothered to learn how to check the sigs on the bitcoin Core and that thread made me realize that I don't know who signs the bitcoin Core client. I will not touch my Core client until I figure stuff out.

1408  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Spondoolies Question on: October 03, 2014, 07:50:09 PM
I've been mining for about 2 years now and after receiving my last 40 TH from KnC and hearing they will not be shipping anymore to retail customers, I am curious where I will find a reliable ASIC firm to continue expansion. I ordered from Cointerra once before and had a HORRIBLE experience, many users on Reddit and Twitter reported the same hardware problems (promised minimum 2 TH but lucky to get 1.6 aside from overheating issues) and lack of support from the team. Obviously I'm quite skeptical about their revamped "team" and products. Been doing a bunch of research on Spondoolies and wanted to know if anyone has ordered from them in the past and if so how was the customer service, hash rate (vis-a-vis projected hash rate) and power consumption over a 24 hour period? Thanks in advance!! Grin

Server grade units, best customer support, top notch quality overall!
1409  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining ASICs Technologies Promises 6TH/s Bitcoin Miner And 200 MH/s Scrypt Miner on: October 03, 2014, 05:03:54 PM
Hi guys. Does somebody asked them to show a video of their products?
I'm looking for 200-300 mhs scrypt miner, but I think video is the only one good proof of real product.

This is a scam until real hard proof is shown.
1410  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Negative Difficulty (Difficulty DEcrease) on: October 03, 2014, 04:55:55 PM
Will this period be the first in modern times where the difficulty goes down?  We look to be possibly on a path to a difficulty decrease this time.
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Isn't it funny that one month after my GB SP30 were delivered that the difficulty stopped? Looking back in the GB thread makes me smile at all those replies with nonstop +20% difficulty increase projections.

Congrats. All of your customers will now only suffer a 50% loss instead of 70%, surely something to be proud of.

Of course everyone who bought any ASIC before June has already turned a profit by now but as we know profit is irrelevant to SPtech hardware owners.

Are you talking about a $ or BTC loss?
1411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 03, 2014, 04:51:56 PM
bit off topic it seems that diff is plateauing a bit with the drop in bitcoin price

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

I'm kind of glad about the price drop, its really hurting the whales who dump BTC i think since it makes it harder for them to pay their bills and they might have to start dumping hardware at lower costs.

It's negative feedback loop, caused by inefficient miners forced to sell to pay electricity bills.
On top of that, BitFury is selling huge amounts.

Selling BTC or equipment?

1413  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: October 03, 2014, 10:20:00 AM
Cross posting(thx ElGrandJefe):

In a nutshell:
  • No more pre-orders
  • No more lies about performance or delivery dates
  • No advertising or selling anything they don't actually have in stock
  • Full asset freeze for BFL and Jody, Nasser and Sonny (JNS)
  • Repatriation of assets held abroad by BFL and JNS
  • Full accounting of all BFL assets and records
  • Full authorization to subpoena any person or business entity holding BFL and JNS assets and records
  • Full, sworn list of all payments and transfers of funds, assets and property of BFL and JNS
  • Complete, sworn statement itemizing all payments, transfers, and assignment of funds over $2,500 made since June 2012 by each of JNS
  • Authorization for FTC to obtain credit reports on JNS
  • Full preservation of records by BFL and all its officers and agents (no more forum post deletions)
  • Authority of temporary receiver to send anyone at BFL home, including, but not limited to JNS
  • JNS may work for the receiver if so asked, but will no be paid
  • No burn-in testing without approval of the court
  • Shipping of completed miners is allowed, if consumers want them instead of a refund
  • No refunds unless approved by the court
  • No new sales unless approved by the court
  • All BFL and JNS bitcoins go to a wallet controlled by the receiver (as noted in a previous post)

There's a whole lot more in there that's unfavorable to BFL, but essentially the receiver temporarily has control over everything, Jody, Nasser and Sonny get nothing and have to provide a full accounting of what they have taken in the past. Everyone has to cooperate fully with the receiver or their ass is grass. The FTC is authorized, and indeed has been granted extended powers, to continue gathering evidence. Further criminal investigations and civil suits against BFL and JNS can continue.

And last but not least, the judge says "this case is mine, bitches".

All the customers should file complaints to FTC and don't forget to give them details about scammer Josh Zerlan aka Inaba! Let's get him into a nice prison cell!
1414  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Home mining is dead. on: October 03, 2014, 07:53:56 AM
I solo mine 3gh.  I figure I have a 1 in 42 million chance of hitting a block every 10 minutes.  Better than powerball odds, not as big a jackpot tho.  But I'll take it.

Is my math right?

I would like to know that too!

1417  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (1GH/S per Unit) on: October 03, 2014, 04:00:40 AM
Dear unit holders,

We would like to announce that with immediate effect, hosting costs will be reduced from 0.15$/GH to 0.105$/GH per month.
Team CryptX

Epic!

Once again cryptx has proven to be a scammer and a liar. Happy business with him!

I guess thats the whole point regarding AM's strategy. ... They got a massive amount of chip to unload, the rest depends on you/the community.

Still lots of chips to unload? Also the community owns nothing to AM. It's their job to get their stuff right.
1420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: September 30, 2014, 05:53:57 PM
How did they almost recover from their mistakes? They have had a working ASIC since January. Their one mistake was that their massive stacks of money magically disappeared.

Honestly what happened to the money?

Why isn't that argument in court? They promised delivery by Oct/Nov/Dec, but they failed and had working units in January? How is not that a fail/scam?
