Here is a better math. No preorders, buy 3Th worth of S2 for $6.3K or $5.2K if you got coupons TODAY.
Conclusion: most preorders are not worth it.

I'll wait to see what the S3 looks like before I buy any more equipment.

Are you really considering buying more hardware after the datatank announcement?

They are offering $0.93/gh and $0.025/kwh..

So you are selling cheap inefficient use of power in an expensive immersion cooled setup. Much marketing, less hardware.

Looks like it is a pay in advance setup. With one month free as agreed in the Group buy. Not a bad thing, just helps clarify things a bit.

It seems that it's an advance payment. My statement was based on personal speculation.

I mean guys honestly it's not an SP30 so it's a total piece of crap...  Hell it could be bitmain, etc... doesn't matter...  SP30 > *

Exactly Smiley

So they show a picture of cases they've had for months and every sucker believes they are going to start shipping this week!  Cheesy Grin

You guys never learn.

All that pictures means is no more refunds and to pump sales of batch 3.

Quote
We expect to ship to Batch 1 pre-order customers this week

It'll never happen! They couldn't even manage to ship boards they had in stock last year when they promised, no chance they can produce 1200 working rigs in 3 days.

What a difference! They launched the Jupiter with a youtube video and now they are launching the Neptune with a box of fans...

Hello my friend, I've missed you. Is it too boring at one of AM threads ?

None of those companies can match the price point of SP30 with current gen and Q3 planned hardware.

It has already been done.

http://shop.rockminer.com/goods.php?id=34

2880gh for 4btc.

P.S.: Due to production issues, RX-BOX will be delayed indefinitely. Customers who joined Project R60 will receive 6 units of Rocket Box instead of 4 units of RX-BOX.(For domestic China customers: 3 units of Rocket Box instead of 2 units of RX-BOX)

Now coming with a surprise delay + extra hardware spaghetti monsters for the same hashrate!

Where is the live unit demo from CEBE 2014 in Vienna?

Will you have a live unit in HK?

Love the design of these miners, so dense with asic chips, but the board arrangement of the heatsinks and fans are just perfect.

These guys just know what they're doing.  Wish I had $5k to throw at that August SP30 Group buy....  Sad

You mean $4,500 Smiley
2388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 16, 2014, 05:54:48 PM
Some more SP30 pictures Benny took. Still missing the ASICs ...
We'll bring one demo unit to Inside Bitcoins HK 2014

I'm noticing that you are stepping down from full radiators to individual chip radiators. Nice. Waiting for the next pictures with the SP30 chips and SP30 immersion cooling   Lips sealed

Just out of curiosity, how much BTC have each of those Jupiters mined so far?

I don't know exactly. I mined them either along with the burnin boards, either separately, but after doing some calculations I would say around 33 bitcoins. This may not be accurate though.
2390  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My second attempt at BTC mining- need advice on: June 16, 2014, 04:14:09 AM
Did no one read what he actually posted? He wants to know how to MAKE miners. Make. As in chips.

... on his summer break.   Roll Eyes

Actually, I mean building rigs. Cheap, efficient towers to stack somewhere and quietly mine away while I chill by the pool.

Why would you try and build rigs when you can buy the most efficient miner? Check my sig and you will be able to chill by the pool having a couple of towers of SP30 hashing for you.

Aren't they pretty expensive?

At 0.85$/GH they aren't. Show me a cheaper miner Smiley

Link?

It's in my signature. 5100$ divided to 6000Gh/s=0.85$/Gh/s

The overwhelming evidence for the past year is that even if Ken Slaughter had good intention to produce miners, doing so was beyond his skill and organizational level and he soon began lying to us all.

I don't agree with this because there is no solid proof of any ASIC chip design at any stage. No proof of the eASIC deal, nothing. All ken did was mine with third party hardware which wasn't in the IPO scope.

Edit: How hard would it be to force ken to reveal all his contracts/documents since the beginning until now? I don't remember of any evidence for the mtgox lost bitcoins either. Everything that ken gave you was just words and mining with third party hardware.

Second edit: I misread what LorenzoMoney said so I'm retracting my statement.

2395  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 16, 2014, 01:09:09 AM
In one month we will have 0.5W/GH miners while you are waiting to sell last year power efficiency chips.

You know that 0.5w/gh at the wall is last years performance right?

Bitfury 55nm chips could go as low as 0.38w/gh or about 0.5w/gh at the wall.

I know, but bitfury lacked the density.

The great thing is that they don't have to be the most efficient to sell. Notice the RBOX's are selling.. What??? They aren't the most efficient and really won't even ROI. But.. How is it that people are buying them? Maybe your assumption that only the best can survive, or even thrive in this business is wrong.

The 32Gh/s units are selling? Ok, let me know when you sold all your 60PH worth of chips, not a couple of units.

Unlike you, I'm neither. The chip is not 1.1 J/Gh, some miners using the chip are. ASIC != miner. AM does not sell miners, it sell chips.

AM BE200 ASIC - 0.554 J/GH @ 11.52 GH/s
Spondoolies Hammer ASIC - 0.58 J/Gh @ 7.5 Gh/s

Ok, but what's the use of that chip if the whole system needs ~1.1W/Gh. The SP10 is 0.85W/Gh for the whole system. Show me one AM BE200 miner with less than 1W/Gh.
2396  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 16, 2014, 12:06:05 AM
Is 60P worth of wafers not healthy?

Of course it's not healthy if they won't sell.

Why on earth wouldn't the most efficient ASIC available today not sell?

You are either uninformed or just trolling here. How can a chip that does 1.1W/Gh be the most efficient ASIC available?  In one month we will have 0.5W/GH miners while you are waiting to sell last year power efficiency chips. I have 1.1W/Gh since October from my Jupiters. Buying the same performance in June/July this year would be the equivalent of shooting myself in the foot.

Is 60P worth of wafers not healthy?

Of course it's not healthy if they won't sell.

Spongebobtech had to crowdfund via non-refundable preorders just to build something like half that amount even though they didn't lack the capital.

I thought their operation was funded with VC, eliminating the need for pre-orders.

Yes, they are fully funded yet they still choose to go with non-refundable preorders and are admittedly using the money to build the asics.

The company ran 9 months without taking any money and they got the SP10 miner in the market without the need for pre-orders. Not something that AM did anyway.

Enjoy your non-existing dividends blind shareholders.
2398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 15, 2014, 11:20:49 PM
It's not "the future" but it is part of it.

There will be huge mining operations and small home operations.

The people who are forced to pay a datacenter for hosting will simply be squeezed out of the game due to the unnecessary additional costs.

You don't honestly think that ALL home miners are just going to stop their operations right?

No, but I am expecting home miners to max their power circuit with the most efficient miners.
2399  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 15, 2014, 10:40:39 PM

When would a Spondoolie miner break even if I bought one now? What's that? You don't know because you can't predict the future?

Of course I can't predict the future. The same way you can't predict when will you receive dividends. It can be in 1 month, it can be in 6 months.

Are you that ignorant or plain stupid? DataTank Mining project is a customer of AM. AM is one of the - if not THE - healthiest BTC HW business and is not "crowdfunding" anything.

Now crawl back to the cave you came from and troll in some other thread. And take the other two trolls with you.

Healthiest? How come? AM is just cash-less sitting on 60PH worth of wafers. Where is the health in there? They can't even help the bitcoin network with some hashpower of their own so that Ghash can go below the 50% share. AM self-mining is just a joke at this moment. Their future relies on selling inefficient chips to customers.

Well, when i am expected to pay 150€ for setting the unit up, i expect it to happen within 24 hours.

It has been 3 days now and still nothing, i also said i could do it via teamviewer myself (and included instructions).

Will try to have the lost amount deducted from setup fee.

I will try and keep you updated on this unfolding situation at Thor Datacenter.

Update:
I got a fast reply today and apparently they were really busy on a "huge" installation of equipment, and were only able to bring the backlog down at the weekend.

I have access to the unit now, will post some stats once they have evend out. (looks really promising so far!)
Given the circumstances, i hope they will consider lowering the setup fee.

I'm glad that there were able to set it up considering it was week-end. Who do you want to try next? Smiley
