2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storjcoin X (SJCX) - A Coin for Decentralized Cloud Storage on: December 31, 2014, 07:47:33 AM
It seems like everyday a new altcoin pops up, but Storjcoin looks really great so far. No joke. Those prices are really good, and I think once the DriveShare and such launches the price will definitely increase. Good job Storj team!

totally agree, gonna be an awesome Year 2015. #SJCX rocks!

Totally!

I'm glad to see something useful from crypto. This shows that we're moving in right direction.

I regret not buying this during crowdsale  Angry

It's never too late. I hope  Wink
2383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DriveShare - Earn money by sharing your extra hard drive space on: December 31, 2014, 07:44:00 AM
The main question remains - whether "decentralization" is really something that people value. I would not be suprised if people stay at Dropbox/Google. This is something I started to notice a while ago - people involved in crypto tend to overestimate decentralization. And crowd.. just does not care. So if there is no demand for decentralized storage - storjcoin price will go down. If there is demand - it will go up. Doesn't really matter what early adopters would do.

Answer to that would be. Offer more storage than competitors offcourse.  Grin

There are many porn sites need a huge space, SJCX can help those porn websites to get cheaper and larger space. Cheesy

Not only porn sites. There are so many businesses that needs cloud storage from accounting, CPA etc. They're always looking for more storage.
2385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: December 31, 2014, 07:41:29 AM
Storj is still going up, 2 days ago the total sell orders are 1.22 million SJCX, now is only 1.06 million SJCX. Most of 160k SJCX were active bought, it shows the strong buy will in the market. Yesterday big buy orders were filled, whales are full now, huge pump will happen in early 2015 Grin

I have a feeling that a lot of speculators will be let down after hoarding lots of Storj. After Test Group C, people who held Storj will be ready to take some profits and flood the market with cheap coins. This will actually benefit the second wave of early adopters as cheap coins roll in to write out early contracts for real users. But - I wouldn't gamble on the rate of SJCX climbing much higher until the product has been trialed by fire.

NXT IPO price is less than 10 sat, but it hit 15k sat, now is still 5k sat.

In 2009, BTC initial price is less than 0.01 USD, but now is 300 USD, highest 1200 USD.

Investing in crypto coins is interesting, if you dare not to buy and afraid cheap ICO/IPO price, you won't get the profits, you will look at them to da mars and regret.

Yes, I think if you invest in any coin for long term. You can easily get benefit out of it. There is no point in playing day trading games because real project takes time. Storj has huge potential and it offers something that is widely used worldwide.

SELL ORDERS Total: 569163.51045747 SJCX          BUY ORDERSTotal: 51.75784676 BTC

Last time I post a price analysis said there were 1.2 million SJCX on the sell orderbook, but now is only 560k, it means much less sell press.

More people know SJCX has a great potential on the online storage market and prefer hoard and hold the precious coins Grin, SJCX is ready to pump to da cloud! Grin  #bethecloud

Indeed, it's rare to see a coin that provides something useful.
2387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech on: December 30, 2014, 04:00:28 PM
New Logo contest for BitBay
We plan to rebrand bitbay project.

We have 1 million baycoin(about 0.6btc)  bounties for our new logo contest winner.
First winner will get 0.5 million bitbay
Second winner will get 0.3 million bitbay
Third winner will get 0.2 million bitbay.

community will vote for this.
The contest will end at 10th Jan.

Design Brief

We are looking for something possibly abstract to represent BitBay which is both our currency, and also a decentralized service set that can enable blockchain based service, such as decentralized marketplace and decentralized smart contract applications.

We looking for something that can double as a logo for our decentralized service and a symbol for bitbay currency.

Good luck !
Thanks for your support.

you can post your logo in this thread.

Sweet!

Here is my first attempt.  Grin

2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when altcoin will be all dead? on: December 30, 2014, 10:30:40 AM
Lot of crypto have brought lot of useful things to the market but it's still not enough time to tell anything. Lets wait for 5 years and see what happens. That's more than enough time for worldwide adoption.

Truth is that lot of people coming in here as investors or scammers. We don't have buyers who use crypto to sell/purchase. If we can't get buyers in 5 years that means we'll never get buyers and crypto will die.

Mining and trading will make some rich but real profit will come when adoption occurs. I don't know many people who even use bitcoin to buy things let alone alts

2391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What aspects should be covered in a "2014 Altcoin Summary" on: December 30, 2014, 07:46:39 AM
- Handful of people are using crypto/bitcoin to make purchases. Majority just convert it to fiat.  Cry. We're still stuck at where we were in the begining of year when it comes to adoption.

ATM, shops accepting ..that's all great but we need buyers not investors.

daaaaaammmmnnn...

Not all of the original investors had the foresight to hodl and dump during the peak though. Some sold part or all of their stake while the prices were still extremely cheap.

For example, in this thread, someone had invested 0.05 BTC (worth $50) into the IPO and later sold it all for 2.5 BTC in total. Had he waited, it would have been worth $250,000:

Well, just wanted to make myself more angry at myself than I have been for the past year. Always thinking about this big mistake. How much I could have had, if I had not been naive and greedy. An investment of 0.05BTC, about 50$ at the time, gave me the following. When NXT released, I thought nothing of it, and sold for I think about 2.5BTC in total. I could have done all of the things I struggle to do now because of lack of funding (businesses, services, etc)

My mistake will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Sad

Majority of people can't see that far..majority wants overnight gain..they can't even see few days forward let alone months.

actually yeah, i know the feeling.  i was told about BTC back in 2010 when it was cheap but didn't really bother looking it up.  i was in the process of downloading the blockchain then got impatient cos my internet was slow so i quit and uninstalled. it was amir taaki who told me about it believe it or not.

I'm in same boat.  Smiley

I looked at the size of blockchain and cancelled it half way back when it was $5

Were there any lightweight wallets like multibit back then?

I looked at it and I was like "nah..it's already too high"...a month later it was "$20" and I was like.."Oh snap..I guess I should've bought at $5..too late now" few months later it was at $1200 and I was yelling 5000! 5000! 5000! so I bought butt load of them. Guess what happened next?

I've had shit luck when it comes to crypto and bitcoins. Everytime I buy it ALWAYS goes down. I've tried it with Drk, BC, Doge, RDD, BTC, LTC and bunch others. I'm still invested in lot of them but  I don't worry about short term anymore...I'll check back few years later to see what's up..if they're dead they're dead but few years is fair amount of time.

I missed a great opportunity with BTC and I don't wanna repeat the history. Even if one of those coin hits $1 by 2020 I'll still end up with few millions on my hand. If they're dead I'll just lose couple of hundred bucks..no big deal.

Reward> Risk

2396  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worst investement 2014 on: December 29, 2014, 09:41:33 AM
You have to give it time. Bitcoin didn't rise from $1 to $1200 overnight. It took years and it won't rise from $300 to $5k overnight. It'll take years. I think it's a great investment for long term BUT most people can't see that far.

Main reason price is suffering is because we have attracted too many day traders and short time investors since last October. They invest 100k and they're out when they've turned it into 150k leaving the market to suffer. There are millions of them in crypto + bitcoin. They need to leave.
2397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2015 Official Year of Crypto Currency on: December 29, 2014, 09:38:54 AM
I think lot of crypto will rise in 2015. Many are new and only few are over one year old. So..we'll see.
2398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How in the FUCK are you supposed to know what's legit? on: December 29, 2014, 09:33:06 AM
stick to known Dev..such as Laudney, David Zimbeck and few others. Those coins will rise beyond control.

Stay away from new coins created by newbie Dev.

Don't keep your eggs in one bucket

now I regret not buying noo during ICO.  Grin
no worries,It will be dumped tonight lower than 1000sato.

Yep the devs couldn't even sell it for 1000 sat each 3 days ago.  I guess when you buy up your own ICO like he did it is easy to pump the price.  Now lets see how many people are dumb enough to buy it from the dev at 2000 plus each hehe.
For now,the dev and his team may hold the most of the coin, you can analyze thru the buywalls. They used fewer bitcoins ,but the price rised increasingly/

Yes, Dev team bought 80 btc worth during ICO and now they're pumping the price. It's pretty clear to see it. I doubt that people want nootropics that bad that they'll hoard the coins  Grin. I just wish that I had bought some during ICO. It seems like all the coins I buy during ICO dumps as soon as trading starts.  Grin..bad luck

I guess I'll have to wait till it dumps below ICO price
