2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE - to the moon on: May 23, 2017, 12:45:56 PM
Doge has no real application and will not find it in the near future. So do not buy a losing asset.
I don't agree with this statement entirely.  Dogecoin does have utility for a lot of things, tipping is one of those things.  Transaction fees are extremely low and confirmation times are quick.  Those are advantages over the current state of bitcoin, no?  One problem is that it probably won't get widely adopted, but that could change.

Would I buy it now?  No.  I think it presently costs way too much, and I think it's being ridden upwards by gamblers and suckers.
last I read the tip bot is RIP, apparently people are working on a new one
2382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE - to the moon on: May 22, 2017, 03:11:38 PM
How high do you all think doge will go?
2383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - 5 STAR PRODUCT 1 STAR SERVICE - BAD BUSINESS PRACTISE on: May 22, 2017, 05:37:42 AM
That is exactly what they said. I asked them if they would be emailing me when they *are* in stock, they said this:
Quote
Hi,

We will put you in the email list if your order quantity is more than 5 units of cube quad.

Best regards,
Baikal
I thought they were all about one cube to one person awhile ago? Has anyone heard more on them having miners in stock?
2384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU and Overall Rig Setup Recommendations on: May 22, 2017, 02:11:32 AM
I'd recommend reading this thread and talking to philipma about his builds as well as finksy about a server PSU, I've been looking into the same thing

you are too expensive !
H81 pro  someone here has connections in china and he sells them brand new for $100
What member?
2386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ROI question on mining rigs on: May 20, 2017, 10:02:12 PM
It really all depends on the price of the alt coins staying strong Smiley

This is just 2 x 1080ti's, and is constantly fluctuating with coin prices and profiability etc.

Are there any writeups for setting up a 1080ti rig?

Mouser has them.  I just had to make a repair like that on one of my B1's.  FYI it's a total whore to fix, take your time.

were you using the POS  oem psu?

Phillip what PSU do you rec for these?
2388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: May 20, 2017, 05:17:51 PM
anyone knows where to by these plugs ?

Has this become a common problem for the pandaminers?
2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: iBelink DM11G - 10800mhs x11 miner - 9000usd - FINAL 10 UNITS FOR SALE! on: May 19, 2017, 07:43:51 PM
Will the last one cost 100.000$? Asking for a friend...  Roll Eyes

This is crypto, so anything is possible Smiley

But I doubt there will be a "last one"

I do apologize to VoskCoin, it was not my intent to single you out, the influx of newbie accounts and mass attacks towards this group buy thread, is pretty astounding.

I'm sorry you were caught in my reply in general.

The DOGE coin remark was 100% not addressed to you personally, and I actually haven't seen your videos, it was a reference to all the newbie and "other" accounts with the same tag line of "I have no dog in this fight", hence the DOGE coin comment Smiley

So to all the people who "have no dog in this fight", who are you fighting?

We aren't fighting anyone, the group buy is almost at a close, and we thank the people who participated, and we look forward to you enjoying this and more products to come.

Thanks!

Thank you, hope this works out for all involved and I'd still like to have this miner sooner or later. . but then again I want to try every miner xD
2390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: iBelink DM11G - 10800mhs x11 miner - 9000usd - FINAL 10 UNITS FOR SALE! on: May 19, 2017, 12:51:11 AM
I'm very disappointed to see this, as well as the downward spiral of these groupbuys.

Maybe you are "very disappointed" because your "group" tried to sabotage this one and failed?

I am sorry you feel that way, maybe if the time and effort spent on trying to bash a few reputable members was spent on working on unity, you could have been a part of this.

The units are spoken for, I believe there may be a handful remaining.

Thanks to all involved, we hope to bring many more "nice things" to the community and as always the early adopters/investors are rewarded with better pricing, thats the way it goes, and we are not unique in this method.

There was time, effort and weeks of planning to make this happen, and it did.

I saw a post regarding pricing and waiting, how soon some forget the $13,000 KNC Neptune that never came until MANY MONTHS later after scheduled delivery dates?

There is no downward spiral by any means, it is what a few "bad apples" are doing in a failed attempt to sabotage something, and are "upset" about not being able to do so.

They couldn't get it together on their own, it's just that simple.

Anything else is simply FUD Smiley

I also love to see all of the ALT accounts here that follow this thread and we know who you are, it's no mystery.

Lots of newbie accounts with "no dog in this fight", thats ok we dont take DOGE coin anyway Smiley

Thanks!

I'm not sure why you're personally attacking me, I'm also not connected to any group so I'm not sure why you're also accusing me of that. I get the doge reference, you watched my video and now you are attempting to demean me. I'm sorry you're upset but it's no reason to attack anyone let alone me.

Furthermore with the groupbuy drama as of late my comment is certainly warranted.
Hope your mining efforts work out for you.
2391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How can I use a server power supply for mining? on: May 17, 2017, 10:08:24 PM
I'm interested as well, subbed for your results!

2394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best / Most efficient power supply for 2 Baikalminer Cube's on: May 17, 2017, 09:54:43 PM
There's no reason to get a standard ATX power supply if you only need 12V rail.

Get this instead:
http://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-750w-he-94-power-supply-7-pci-e-16awg-psu-kit-for-antminer-l3-litecoin-miner-ltc/

Same efficiency, less than half the price, higher capacity.
Really hard to argue with that, I need to move to psu's like that, how many are you currently using / powering what?
2395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best / Most efficient power supply for 2 Baikalminer Cube's on: May 17, 2017, 09:53:17 PM
So I received my  Seasonic ATX12V / EPS12V 660 Power Supply SS-660XP2

and it does not power on . .  Undecided

Did you " jump" the PSU, or use a antminer switch on the motherboard connector to the PSU?

It will not come on unless you do.

Yeah needed a replacement T_T rolling now though!

https://youtu.be/M5hOIKzqikY made a quick video running the baikalminer cubes w/ the seasonic PSU
2396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: . on: May 17, 2017, 09:37:33 PM
How much does it cost to run these large exhaust fans?  What's their typical draw?

I'm a hobby miner with a hot room, so I'm curious what added cost these things have, compared to running a box fan or playing with higher AC use in my house.

I'm running one of these in my garage.  It's loud, and pulls ~ 500W by itself, according to the label on it, but it moves the air through the exhaust hose very quickly.  I also have one of these pushing air over the equipment, with everything enclosed.  This allows the ~30 cu ft of air that the miners occupy to be completely refreshed every few seconds.  It's way cheaper to move a lot of air than it is to cool the air, so AC is a total waste of money and energy for this kind of thing.
Do you have a picture / what does your mining gear consist of?
2397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Poll: Mining Room Top Temps on: May 17, 2017, 09:35:45 PM
How would humidity levels affect mining room?

What are good practices for fire protection?

The issue with humidity and electronics is condensation, it's not like how it affects warm blooded animals.
The moisture also gets absorbed by some components shortening their life. Low humidity is good but it has
nothing to do with cooling perrformance.

High humidity environments is an ironic case where higher temperatures are better to keep the relative humidity lower
and protect against condensation.

Some "light" reading...

https://www.electronics-cooling.com/2013/06/electronic-performance-impact-of-elevated-humidity-environments-implications-for-free-air-cooling-of-data-centers/

So with free air, there's no practical way to combat the humidity is there? If I'm moving a ton of air through my setup, even with a big dehumidifier the air would come and go before it had the opportunity to be dehumidified?
2398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Garage / Residential Data Center Mining Cave Planning - Garage Grotto Part 1 :D on: May 17, 2017, 09:26:47 PM

What does that keep your basement temp at?
would the 16" fan be better suited for my setup?

Do you think that it's more effective to run them side mount or to run attic roof mount style fans?
2399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Garage / Residential Data Center Mining Cave Planning - Garage Grotto Part 1 :D on: May 17, 2017, 12:09:50 PM
I want to run at least 2 fans in case one fails, so I can limp along with only 1.

Thoughts on this fan?

thoughts on fans on the wall vs the roof?

If I go with roof mount, so I simply run intake vents along the entire bottom of the structure?
2400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - 5 STAR PRODUCT 1 STAR SERVICE - BAD BUSINESS PRACTISE on: May 16, 2017, 12:42:33 PM
Could anyone please direct me to a guide for allowing remote access to my baikal quad over the internet? I'm going away for 3 months in June for work and there is no way my girlfriend is going to be able to do anything for troubleshooting but hard power cycle it

Also, when I want to manually change pools, I have to change the pool priority on the http setup page, and then execute a hard power restart for it to change pools. Is this for anyone else?
You can download Teamviewer and remotely access it, that's what i'm doing right now too.

I don't have to do a hard restart to change pools.

Is that the best setup for a mining farm? How can I setup email / text notifications if one or multiple go offline?
