241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 16, 2024, 10:49:32 PM
I do think it will hurt Canelo's legacy if he doesn't duck Benavidez this year.

1. They are both in the same division, Benavidez holds the WBC interim belt.
2. Charlo twins are 154 lbs and 160 lbs champion, they are moving up in weight to fight him.
3. Didn't fight Bivol for a rematch.
4. They said Benavidez should fight other PBC fighters and so he did, beat Plant and Demetrius Andrade and beat them.

Obviously, Canelo's legacy is going to be strained for not fighting a prime Benavidez wherein Floyd gave him that chance before.
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 16, 2024, 10:29:45 PM
Since he didn't selected, Domantas Sabonis made crazy triple-double averages. He made 18 triple-doubles this season. It's really ridiculous that he wasn't selected. If he played for a Los Angeles team, he would have been selected. When you're in Sacramento, it's tough.

It's time for All-Star Weekend. Tonight Rising Stars game will be played. I don't like the new system at all. I prefer to watch a typical Rookies vs. Sophomores game. NBA should really think about their changes and its impact on the stream. I probably sleep instead of watching the game. Saturday will be fun though. Patiently waiting for the slam dunk contest.

I know that sports leagues such as the NBA and NFL, even the MLB..to a lesser extent have been trying to mix things up a bit and make their respective sports more interesting or entertaining, but like you I liked when the rising stars game was simply Freshman vs Sophomores.  I also don't like how they changed up the All Star game itself, not just the simple East vs West, 4 quarters played.  It's just easier to gamble on the game that way.  Not that it's a very smart weekend to bet, still makes it more exciting.

I haven't even seen who's in the dunk contest, will have to check it out.

Here are the entries for 2024 Slam Dunk contest,

https://twitter.com/NBA/status/1755659321935884300

McLung electrified us with his dunks last year and he put the crowd on his feet. And so we will see if he can defend his belt here. Not sure why though the entries is just 4 for this year, and it includes, Jaylen Brown and Toppin.

I think Toppin will be a close second here as I think McLung will put up another show for us fans.

244  Other / Beginners & Help / [Warning] GoldDigger and it's variant targeting banking apps and crypto wallets on: February 16, 2024, 01:03:56 AM
It was reported that there's a trojan that harvest facial recognition data used for unauthorized access to bank accounts and crypto wallets too, and researchers dubbed it as a family of "GoldDigger".

Quote
Among these discoveries, there is an exceptionally rare occurrence – a new sophisticated mobile Trojan specifically aimed at iOS users, dubbed GoldPickaxe.iOS by Group-IB. The GoldPickaxe family, which includes versions for iOS and Android, is based on the GoldDigger Android Trojan and features regular updates designed to enhance their capabilities and evade detection. GoldPickaxe.iOS, Group-IB researchers found, is capable of collecting facial recognition data, identity documents, and intercepting SMS. Its Android sibling has the same functionality but also exhibits other functionalities typical of Android Trojans. To exploit the stolen biometric data, the threat actor utilizes AI-driven face-swapping services to create deepfakes. This data combined with ID documents and the ability to intercept SMS, enables cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to the victim’s banking account – a new technique of monetary theft, previously unseen by Group-IB researchers in other fraud schemes.

https://www.group-ib.com/blog/goldfactory-ios-trojan/

And it really sounds very complex and complicated and it seems the Chinese did take time to create this trojan that mostly targets APAC region specially in Vietnam as it targets  targets more than 50 applications related to banking, e-wallets, and crypto-wallets.

So to our friends from South East Asean region, just be careful with your banking apps and crypto wallet in your mobile or even Pc or laptop. Do everything and learn safe practice as not to infect your machines with this trojan.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC to Bitcoin ETFs - The ownership are shifting to centralized ownership on: February 15, 2024, 11:45:11 PM

It feels to me, like we are selling the keys to our soul and the legacy of Satoshi Nakamoto.  Sad

I guess no one really anticipated it, or at least when Satoshi left, he didn't foreseen that his invention might progress and evolved to what we are it known by today, an asset, a store of value and form of money. And so we can't really blame anyone here, specially not Satoshi. He has still his original vision, but his invention grow so much in the last 10 years or so.

However, we can still continue with his legacy, store Bitcoin in a wallet with our control with our private key and with safe practice and we all should be good. If there is ETF then good, if not then doesn't matter at all. We have existed without this institutions, this is just another another parameter in our space that might have a positive or negative effect so we will take it like that. And we still have regulatory uncertainties, not just in the US but throughout. So there could be no shifting to centralized ownership and if there is, not might not be that big as we picture it right now.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 15, 2024, 11:25:33 PM
Watching the clips from yesterday showing Draymond Green act like a crazy person is actually sad. That guy is breaking down mentally now that the Warriors’ dynasty is over. I’m not even sure if LeBron could save them by jumping ship in the offseason. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Draymond has signed his last NBA contract.

Yeah at this point he is going overboard.  I think as his athletic ability has declined he is masking it with this new over the top persona to scare people into submission.  I know he was aggressive before but not like this.  At some point he is just basically a danger out on the court.  It is sad bit I think this is the end of "their run".  GS doesn't look like they are gonna get better anytime soon.

I even don't think that Draymond has the athletic ability in the first place, he is more of the basketball IQ, however, he went overboard most of the team and this season it was even magnified that he got suspended by the league. So perhaps he is not masking it, he could really be out of control and he really needs to check himself and seek medical attention.

For tonight's game, there could be easy bet for gamblers, Bucks over Memphis and Wolves over Portland. Jazz is struggling and the Warriors although they've lost on their last game, might come back here against the Jazz and start another run with Curry carrying this team. Hopefully, Klay and the others help Steph here as this is a very winnable game for them.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 14, 2024, 12:41:26 PM
Finally, the 175 division will be fully unified soon. I voted for Bivol to win by decision. But only because Beterbiev is past his prime although still very capable of beating world-class fighters. Bivol has underrated power and he needs to get the respect of Beterbiev if he wants to survive.

There will be some factors that matter here like the size of the ring. Bivol prefers a bigger one so he can move well and utilize his skills while the 3-belt champion Beterbiev would love a smaller ring so it is easier for him to engage.

And the Saudi host already has someone in his mind for the winner of this fight, lineal cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.

Right, I think Beterbiev could be the A-side here and dictate all the terms? including what you mentioned, like the ring size. But it looks like though that this two Warriors are not to look like those American boxers who like to have control of every thing, ring size, gloves that are going to be used, who comes first in the billing and others.

This are Warriors, they just want to fight and see who is gong to be the best in this division. And yeah, all the belts are going to be in the line here, so we will finally see a unification fight in the 175 lbs, best of the best.

That's the right definition of these two boxers, "warriors". They are here to fight and show to the public that they deserve to enjoy a good fight. With Beterbiev's aggressiveness, this is not going to be a boring fight and will surely entertain the fans that are watching this fight. If a fighter has a repution being entertaining, it would not be hard to market a fight, so we should watch the fight from the very start as it's possible to witness a short fight knowing their knockout power.

Yes, it's just that this fighters or the weight class is not known. But being Russians or at least Eastern European, their reputation in boxing precedes them. So this two Warriors even though come from the same country will try to get their heads off for sure.

And from what I research, we haven't had a unified LHW in the 4 belt era.

So this is going to be first and so they are also chasing history here. Last year we have Crawford 2x and then Inoue followed him as well in bantam and super bantamweight.
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: February 14, 2024, 10:34:06 AM
Not a new story, I've heard so many similar stories or even worst stories than what you just shared here. Such thing is not only happened because of losing in gambling but also because of other things. No other reason except the ability to control our own emotion. Some gambler who lost money that they can afford to lose may also do the same thing so I think it is more about controlling emotion not merely about the lost money but of course the chance of doing such a thing is bigger to be done by those who lost money that they cant afford to lose.

Yeah, not the first, as for me, I have experienced this but not TV, but my mobile phone, Lol. I also threw my mobile phone when I lost a bet on roulette. I've also bet on that number but unfortunately, I forgot that time and the result was devastating to me.

But looking back, it's just funny though, I mean I can't control my emotions that time, but it's good that I didn't broke my mobile phone or what because that will be a big problem for me as I have some e-wallets and then the cost of it. So now I try to control and I just think that I can recover the next day what I have lost today so no need to really be frustrated for a lost that you lost control of your emotions and broke any things near you.
249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 14, 2024, 09:37:12 AM

Getting out of the spiral of gambling addiction is as difficult as other addictions, such as drug and alcohol addiction
Any person suffering from addiction must be helped by his relatives and supported if he truly desires recovery, which is difficult but not impossible if he has determination and the matter remains in his hands, as he is the only one capable of helping himself

Yes, and I think we have discussed this several times already. For a gambling to overcome their addiction,

1. Acknowledgment and Acceptance - They need to accept to themselves and to the people behind that indeed there is a addiction on their part. Acknowledge the negative impact on it and learn how to stay away from gambling for good.

2. Seeking Professional Help - And then this is the best option I think. Gambling addiction is serious and so we need to seek help from professionals who knows about this subject matter and recommend things that will help us forget about our addiction.
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Bitcoin catch up with Gold in capitalization? on: February 14, 2024, 08:05:55 AM
  • Do you think Bitcoin has any chance of catching up and then surpassing Gold in capitalization?
  • If so, when in the future might that event take place?
  • If this happens, will it be a good thing for Bitcoin?
1. I don't see any valid reason why Bitcoin can't surpass Gold?

2. No one can know about that, but it will takes a lot time, at least a decade.

3. Nope, even though Bitcoin isn't yet become the best investment for Average Joe, but government already try to regulate Bitcoin and tightening the laws about Bitcoin. There was a proposal issued by FinCEN to declare any form of privacy methods are illegal, this will force people to lose their privacy.

Some people invest in Bitcoin because the value keep increasing and they can protect their privacy, this could make people to convert their Bitcoin to Monero.

And I don't know why we really need to surpassed gold by the way? It is for bragging rights? What significant it can bring to the market anyways? Both are different, only comparison is that both assets are scarce, but after that? I don't know. I don't think that it will be beneficial to surpassed big companies. For sure, we have broken already in the top 10 as we are in bullish momentum specially in the next 2 years.

https://coinmarketcap.com/largest-companies/

But after that when we go back to bear market, market capitalization will obviously go down. So for me, let the market go on it's own course, and no need to compare it to other assets of market value. It will be different as our market is very volatile.
251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 50k is exciting on: February 13, 2024, 09:15:54 PM
Lol, but yeah, I remember way back in 2017, wherein when we break $5k, everyone is very happy to see and jumping for joy. And here we are again, $50k a big accomplished already from the last lowest low of $15,500 in this bear market. But we shouldn't be just selling though just because we hit this numbers. We should all be looking at the bigger picture, we are not technically even in the bull so just hold your horses.

I know what it feels for newbies in seeing a price that we have been talking for months. But as I have said, the more that you can control your emotions here, the better. Just watch the price to hit 6 digits this year and that will be our goal as it will be the first time that we are going to see that magical numbers.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changing initial option and losing the bet on: February 13, 2024, 10:51:18 AM
As a gambler and I do participate on physical gambling, at times this scenario often happens to me. After doing my analysis, checked statistics on games, I have selected option I want to play but when I get to gambling center I will have a thought of changing option or adding  a game  to the initial option I selected and this most time will cost losing the bet.

These acts has cost me from losing bet many times, as a gambler share your thoughts on this and have you been in a similar situation.

Oh well, everyone has a plan in gambling, but I'm not surprised if you let's say change it during the actual game itself. Gamblers do this often times, of course, if we see that the odds has somewhat shifted, then we should look for where we will get values for our money. But it's not a guarantee, everything in gambling is a risk, so with or without changing, if we are bound to be unlucky, then there's nothing we can do.

If it had cost you losing bet many times then maybe it's a wrong strategy for you? Maybe you can bet on pre-game or if you are in a physical casinos then perhaps when you go there, just stay calm and relax and just observed around you first before playing. At least get a feel of the environment and use your instinct as to what games you feel that you are going to be lucky.
253  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US DoJ dismantled WarZone RAT Infrastructure on: February 13, 2024, 09:11:48 AM
Sounds good, but I'm still convinced that it's a drop in the ocean. I'm sure that 2 other websites have already taken over.

Isn't this an already lost battle? Shouldn't the US be devoting all these resources to educating people on the subject rather than going after the bad guys? In the long term, wouldn't that kill the problem more than just chasing after new criminals again and again?

I think the US is continuously giving warnings to everyone like here,

https://www.cisa.gov/sites/default/files/2023-07/aa23-187a-increased-truebot-activity-infects-us-and-canada-based-networks.pdf

But the problem is that it's either there are gullible people who really fall for this cyber criminals or the infrastructure are very poor that they can easily penetrate, or they are really becoming sophisticated that it's really hard to track down every malware groups and bots that they are created.

It could be a lose battle, but it's good instead of doing nothing from US 3 letter agencies.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 13, 2024, 08:06:29 AM
A triple double with blocks hasn't been seen for quite a while I would say.

Well, Wemby accomplished that last night with 10 blocks versus the Raptors. They also blew out Toronto in dominating fashion.
It's funny, the Spurs are one of the worst teams but occasionally they win games by a huge margin, this time even on the road.

Yes, lucky for those who ride on the Spurs, we never thought that they can win big in the road against a tough team in the Raptors. Toronto though is very inconsistent, they will have games wherein they play really tough, but here in their own homecourt, their shots are lousy and allowing the Spurs to score on them.

And that record that Wemby has set with his 10 blocks.

But still Chet is way ahead in the rookie of the year for me so Wemby needs a lot of that kind of performance. However, his team is struggling and so Chet's OKC and his chance to becoming the rookie has far greater chance that Wemby at this point.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 11, 2024, 09:24:25 PM
I might be wrong, but I haven't seen anyone posted the kick off press conference,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpbcltnTnko

Kambosos says it's all about legacy, while Loma is still hunting his dream to be undisputed again. There's no disrespect from Kambosos here, even if Loma telling him that he lost to Haney twice.

So both agree that style makes fight, and so they are contrasting style and hopefully it will be exciting as we fans have been envisioning this. Kambosos aggressive and the Loma, techniques in full display. We can't wait for this.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 11, 2024, 09:10:51 PM

We haven't seen a conference yet, no undercards yet but look at how they sell the fight. This is why Ryan is good for marketing regardless of how useless the words he is saying are. Garcia indeed can knockout fighters, it only needs to connect. Still, this fight will boost the PPV of Haney.

The confrontation is a hot topic now in the boxing community, it could even be better than all the Gervonta - Davis faceoff I have never seen both fighters so angry, and I think the promoters will need a lot of bodyguards for these two boxers on their future face off and press conference.

Expect a lot of foul words between the two I just hope that there will come a time when they will hit each other, they have to do their things inside the ring, and they are being paid to do their stuff in the ring.

Honestly, I don't think these two guys have to do these things but it seems the hatred is real and the hatred will heat up as we move on the fight date, I still believe that Haney can easily beat Ryan, he is too technical and too wise in the ring to handle Garcia.

They have their own body guards, but yeah, I think the organizations should hire more, specially in the weigh-in or even in the kick off press conference. Ryan Garcia already hype the fight and with that video going out in the public, others say that Garcia has won that mental game, but we will see. Haney has been in this kind of pre-fight antics with Loma and Kambosos, so he knows what's up with Ryan.

But I do agree that it should translate those hate in the public ring, and in the first 3 rounds, like Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto, wherein we don't know who's going to win until Manny hit that upper cut and put down Cotto and that's in. So here, it's a question on whether who will dominate early or who's going to score a knock down. Haney has improved his power since moving up to this division as he is well rehydrated prior to the fight.
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: February 11, 2024, 11:05:13 AM
I don't know what to make with this stories, but I guess everyone has gone to this process as well, or maybe as early when we are still kids going to school and gambling with friends and classmates. And then as we grow, we go on and move to casinos. With the proliferation of online gambling now, it's really hard to anyone not to fall for it as everyone around us is playing and gambling.

So it boils down to our self-control, we really need to understand prioritize things because we fall on gambling. The effect is going to be bad in the long run. So there maybe addicted gamblers here and around us, we can help them as we ourselves as well might fight it out or at least those who have experience it already, by now knows what is the effect of gambling in our lives. So it's not how we started in gambling, but how it will affect us.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 11, 2024, 10:38:18 AM
The back and forth was a treat. Kevin Durant's block was outdone by a Steph Curry's winning three. I thought the warriors caught a lucky break there as it was almost a steal from a bad inbound pass. On the final inbound, did you notice how Draymond was pounding his chest and screaming at someone? I think that was intended for KD.

That was a great ending and an impressive win for the Golden State Warriors who have been playing really well since Draymond’s return. Stephen Curry showed he still has it tonight with that last second shot to seal the win. Might be some fight left in those old dogs.

Yes, it was a lucky pass by Brandin Podziemski, but you know what, it seems that Kerr is confident with this young man, he was even in the game and Klay Thompson just sitting because he had a bad night. And so when Beal trying to overpower Curry, it gave Steph that just inch to throw that 3. And we know that during this crunch time, this kind of players thrive and so Curry hit another big 3 in his career.

I don't know what Green though is shouting on Durant during the last play where Draymond played good defense and not allow him a good looks. It seems though that he is telling the Curry is better than Durant, or something to that effect. And so GSW breaks into the .500 record and they are still in the fight for the last playoff spot or at least in the play-in.
259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 10, 2024, 12:04:15 PM
The odds so far are:

ML: 1.80 - for Beterbiev, 1.94 for Bivol. And as per poll, our boxing fans here knows their stuff about these fighters and so they lean towards Beterbiev as well.

So yes, it's a even fight for this two Russians, and just like what everyone says, gonna be close and difficult to chose at least for now.

But the fight is still far, and there could be a lot of factors that might swayed us as to who is going to be our bet on this fight.

I'm not seeing a wild swing on the odds though, Beterbiev will be the favorite based on his knockout percentage and Bivol knows that. It might be close though and as we see, for boxing fans, gonna be hard to pick the winner as both as capable to pull, it's just either KO by Beterbiev or the strength of Bivol to carry him all the way to championship rounds and then into the full 12 rounds. And with that, the this might be the closest fight that we can see for this year. We see Ryan being a huge underdog against Haney, and all other fights that we think is close, the odds maker think otherwise. But not in this case, even them knows that it could be as close as a 50/50 match.

Based on the betting odds, yes it's a 50/50 match. I believe we will not have a hard time putting our bet as the odds are very competitive, we can get 1.90 on either boxer, so we just have to determine now on who we will think will win. As for majority of us here, we are thinking that Beterbiev will win because he is the heavy punches, all wins are in KO, who would not bet on that.

I hope the bookies are not mistaken with the betting odds as this fight is obviously for Beterbiev, although both are undefeated, they are champions but it's nice to bet on a fighter that we think could anytime finish his opponent. The only bet I find more appealing is Beterbiev winning via KO, but maybe it could be the same with his current betting odds now.

I don't think that bookies will be wrong with that odds, as mostly crypto related sports bookies get their odds from the odd makers in Las Vegas itself. And those odd makers really are the top of the game in boxing. So maybe they have a lot of factors that they look up before coming with this odds. Bivol's win against Canelo, which he is the huge underdog and then he win is one of them. And then maybe his age.

But for boxing fans, in which a boxer with that high ko percentage? we will go and bet them. That ML is already very appealing, but if we want bigger odds then  we will see what will be for a KO. So far I haven't seen it yet, it was only ML that is presented. But this is still very far and so we will just have to wait, just like any other boxing match, crypto sports bookies are somewhat slow listing their odds for other betting options.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 10, 2024, 11:19:46 AM

So we will see, hopefully there's no rehydration clause or something that will put Ryan at a disadvantage. Haney is  huge favorite, Ryan 5:1 underdog hehehe. Probably it's because of his style, it will be very difficult for Ryan. And this is what the fans wanted and Oscar did deliver again.

Most likely another 1 million+ PPV for Ryan and then tickets sold out in live gates?

Something which is interesting is that this is already Ryan’s second fight since losing to Tank. Meanwhile, Tank is still sitting on the sidelines without anything scheduled and coming up with excuses to avoid fighting Haney and other elite champions.

Again, we can go back to the argument of Tank Davis being one of the most protected fighter, a paper champion, beat Ryan, best numbers last year and yet they doesn't want him to fight other champions at least at this own backyard of 135 lbs. If he wanted to be "great", fight Shakur, fight Loma at his division and then clean it up just like what a best fighter would do. But they don't want his 0 go, and they think that it will be his bargaining power to any negotiations, typical of Floyd Mayweather.

Anyhow, I was just out for a couple of days from this community and then suddenly we have this great fight. And for sure, we don't like Ryan or some of us here are not a fan of his specially with that way he portray himself in the social media. But we have to take into consideration that he tries to challenge himself by fighting Haney. They were called 4 Kings, and Ryan is the only one of them having fought 2 fighters, Tank and now Devin Haney.
