1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 20, 2023, 11:58:02 AM
In fairness to Golden State Warriors though, this team is already proven to always show "big changes" once playoffs come.

Disregarding how bad they are and not well-performing in a season, that all will be erased once playoffs come and every team will start at a 0-0 standing.

I will still treat them as a big deal in the Western Conference once playoffs come. Prior to that though, they need to make the playoffs first, and looking at the current competition in the West, too tight that almost 9 teams are all possible to be in the play-in tournament.

Grizzlies destroyed them last night. The best player for Warriors was Kuminga, that tells us something's wrong. I don't think Warriors can go far enough even if they get a spot in play-off.

It was only JD that has been shooting consistently with the Warriors against the Memphis team. Curry and Klay just combine for 30 points and then Poole, contributed by Donte was out of the game.

I've just watched Pistons game and they were very close to win the game. The experience difference was the big factor in last minutes and Heat made a 10-0 run and won the game. Huge win for Heat though. They may pass Nets and steal the sixth spot if Nets keep losing games.

Yeah, I thought that it will be close, but then again, Butler and Herro had made their runs, 10-0 and the inexperience Pistons doesn't have any answers. Miami experience really shows and I guess perfect time for Herro so catch his shooting from, with 3's.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 20, 2023, 10:47:10 AM
Good news for fans of "No Mercy" Gesta, he won against Jojo Diaz, judges score the fight in his favor, Alejandro Rochin (99-91) and Pat Russell (98-92), while the other judges, hehehe, maybe he is watching other fight because the score is somewhat questionable, Judge Pam Hayashida (97-93).

I just wonder though if Ryan Garcia fought Gesta, maybe there could be upsets as well, hehehe.

In any case, good for Gesta, his career can move on and most likely fight for another day. While for Diaz, no longer the hype on his name, probably this weight for his is too much, maybe it's better to go down to 130 lbs.

I watched the highlight of the fight, and it seems Gesta is a bit tired on the 4th round, aside from that, I felt that Gesta movement is a bit stiff even though he is moving from side to side pretty well.  The jobs helps Gesta in securing the fight, though it would be devastating for him if he was caught when he leans his head forward without any defense.  That should be one of the flaw Gesta need to fix on his next fight.  All in all, I think the fight is pretty close every round it is that Gesta jobs more than his opponent securing each round.
Yeah, it may have been the big finish of Gesta that improved his winning chance. The jabs did help to score more and the judges may have seen something that is worth giving him the victory. Diaz may have defended some of it well but the flurry of jabs does look like Gesta landed more than blocked or avoided.
As for Diaz's career, this should not be the end of it but he needs to clear his name first and fix those legal issues that were thrown at him.

I didn't know that card had so many issues that happened.
The main event was canceled due to Ramirez missing weight so Gesta versus Diaz was moved to the main event. Then, Diaz was also at 139 lbs. but thankfully it still happened.
Boxing and weighing.
I hope Ryan Garcia will make weight and then the other weigh in before the match starts that was written in their clause.

It's just the numbers though, Gesta is the more busier fighter in this fight, the volume could be enough for the judges to score the fight for him. Diaz might have the best punch, but it was Gesta's workrate that secure the victory for him.

I don't think though that Ryan will make the same mistake, his fight with Davis is high profile, so everything must be perfect for him.

Trainings and food intake and of course the pre and during the fight weigh-in.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 19, 2023, 09:50:50 AM
It's really Jason Moloney who is available during the time WBO ordered the fight but since he backed out, Santiago received a big opportunity to fight for a world title and this would be the biggest fight of his career.
Yes this is a big fight of his career and it's not impossible for him to win, having a 3 consecutive wins last year and a much younger than Donaire, he stand a chance.

Though, it won't be easy since Donaire is an experienced boxer and already prove his worth. He might came from a loss with Inoue but it's a motivation for him to redeem himself and be a champion again. Anyway, is the date for this fight set already?

It's better to think that Santiago is going to give Donaire a good fight, as most of us here think that Donaire will win easily. You know, when Donaire's opponent is aggressive, it usually results in an entertaining fight, regardless of the outcome. So let's hope that will be the scenario come fight night. As of now, Donaire is still the favorite, but that's expected already since Donaire has a better ranking than Santiago.

Yes, that the correct mindset, not going to be easy sailing for Donaire here, this is for the belt and of course Santiago wanted to be a champion as well. And even if he like rank 6, Donaire shouldn't be underestimating him.

On the other hand, Donaire might be taking his training as hard as the last time. We all know that he was knockout by Inoue, but still though, this is another opportunity for him to remain as champion, so everything should be perfect for him come fight night.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 19, 2023, 09:20:20 AM
Memphis Grizzlies VS Golden State Warriors

The stake odds for this game are 1.90 for the Grizzlies and 1.85 for the Warriors, Vince Williams Jr., and Steven Adams, can not play for the Grizzlies Ja Morant is still suspended, while Ty Jerome, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Wiggins, and Gary Payton II can not play for the Warriors, for this game I really don't know if the Grizzlies could step up for a win because the Warriors is having a crazy loss, but I think the Warriors will manage to win this because they got bad blood Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks because of his trash talking I think my pick is the Golden State Warriors,

I think it's high time we all move past this idea of the Golden State warriors getting a win on the road, and it doesn't matter if they are playing Boston Celtics or Detroit Piston, or even as mediocre as a team from the G-League, these clowns just can't get a win on the road, I believed playing the Atlanta Hawks or a Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies' would have been an easy way to dismiss that narrative, but here we are again, the fumbled it!

I'm probably done with them until the post season, I mean that's even if they manage to secure their spot for it.

Yeah, they have already cost us a lot of money, expecting that one day they'll be back to being the old Warriors who can dominate on the road. I don't understand the line movement in this particular game. It seemed like it was signaling that the Warriors would win, but what happened was a complete massacre for the team. Good thing I was able to bet live and took the Jazz to win with 3.40 odds. It made me profitable in the end.

I skipped the Warriors game, because I want to beat on them, but there are parts of me saying that it's going to be very difficult because of their road game records. It's a different Warriors team now, although the core remain but the second unit is not that strong anymore, so to be honest, I doubt that they can defend their crown for this year, just to be realistic. They could be the crowd favorite for us, but it might cost us more money losses, just saying.
1225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 19, 2023, 08:46:42 AM
After winning 1 to break the 4 losing streak, Denver Nuggets are back to lose more.  Grin I don't even understand what is happening. The stats are okay, Murray is back to his normal shooting accuracy and attacking the paint. Maybe it's the lack of defense that they are missing. They are known to score over 120+ per game and they have a record to win it whenever it goes over 120. But vice versa to their losing record when they gave scores like 110+ they will absolutely lose. They may be safe for the playoffs but giving away games will put them in number 2 as the Kings are not stopping to win each game.

Yes, and again, one interesting numbers: Jokic didn't make a triple double, he is shy of 2 assists. And when we see this stats, it make us think that they could be in trouble if he can't make a triple double, also the scoring output though, he is to be expected to score at least 30 points.

Very though for them, maybe they are not doubting themselves again in the playoff. Last year Jamal is out and then Porter Jr has some extended injuries. But now, this season they are healthy, on top of the standings, but seems to be having problems closing out the regular season. And we might say that they are choking right now, in my opinion.
Well, they are still 4 games above the 2nd seeded Kings, so maybe these is a strategy to them. I mean kind of they will not perform 100% on their remaining games, so that they will still have the energy when playoff comes. If they know that they will retain the 1st spot with a few games remaining, for sure their key players Jokic and Murray will sit in preparation for the upcoming playoffs.

Currently, they lost 5 of their last 6 games and the only win that they got in that 6 game span was against the Pistons. They only have 11 games remaining, and it's a bit tough at least because on that 11 games, 7 of them are against teams above .500 (Warriors, Suns, Sixers, Bucks, Nets, Kings). TBH, I'm a bit worried on how the Nuggets are performing on their last games, but if they will manage to win majority of the remaining 11 games then I still think that they will retain that top spot in the West.

I think it's going to be close with Memphis as the Grizzlies are on a winning streak right now. So maybe the Nuggets will maintain the top spot, but it doesn't good to look at when they are not winning.

And this might be a similar case with the Suns a couple of season ago when they are on the top of the West but eventually lost.

So regardless, they have to win because entering the playoff they have to build the momentum.
1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1M Bitcoin Valuation until the end of this Bull Run on: March 19, 2023, 02:46:20 AM
We are not sure if $1 M could be within this bull run it might take a couple or two of bitcoin halving before we can even consider this price. Maybe in this bull run, 6 digit is within reach. And then we will be in the bear state after 2024/25.

Perhaps the best gauge is that when we reach a point that "almost all" bitcoin has been mined or at least 99% or it.

And then hard 1% might be the factor that it will be scarce, so very high demand with almost no supply then likely the price is going to go up, but not in the last bull run.
1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think that there are Dark secrets in every Successful Business on: March 18, 2023, 08:38:24 PM
I think we have heard this kind of story before, that for every success, there could be some kind of secret behind it.

But now sure how we can relate it to gambling, although in Hollywood, and if you have seen the Ocean's series, there is this part where Al Pacino character trying to double cross one of the members of Daniel Ocean's gang, Rueben to sign a document about his ownership stakes.

And who knows, this could life imitating art or the other way around.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 18, 2023, 08:21:19 PM
Injuries are really taking a toll one the NBA as we get closer to the end of the season. I should be getting excited about the Los Angeles Lakers playing the Dallas Mavericks tonight, but I’m not sure if any of the superstars are going to be on the floor. Luka maybe will put on a show but I would’ve loved to have seen Kyrie and LeBron face off again on their latest teams.

What a beauty this ending was.

Our guy Maxi Kleber with 3 clutch free throws 15sec before the end to make it a 1 point game and then after a Lakers turnover Maxi's first NBA game winner buzzer 3 pointer.

He is a force on the defensive end but his shooting from 3 is  definitely worth mentioning as well.

Thanks AD for the "great" foul on Maxi shooting a 3, amazing.

GO MAVS.

It was basically how the Lakers team has been for the last couple of years.  They just aren't that good and I hope they don't make a full series playoff because they will get smacked around and be boring.  Was funny because as I was watching that broken play and was thinking to myself the Lakers are gonna screw this up and bam.  3 at the buzzer lol.

Just the breaks of the game I guess, they know that the ball will go to Kyrie and so someone left Maxi as they triple team Irving in the dying seconds, and it's good that Kyrie didn't force that shot and instead pass to to Maxi who is very wide and boom, 3 and a good win for the Dallas team who are still struggling because Luka is still out.

Teams are not getting desperate, and it's good though, because we might see games that are very close and maybe another buzzer beating.  Or the game will be contested and won by 3 points or less.
1229  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for the increase in the price of Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2023, 08:07:22 PM
During Corona in 2020 the Federal Reserve added dollars to their economy after which we saw Bitcoin rise from less than $4000 to almost $7000.  Many believe that the US will add more dollars to its economy in the coming days, which could push the price of Bitcoin to new highs.
Wrong, during corona pandemic in 2020 the FED injected more money at March 13, 2020 [1], actually when the FED announce to inject more money Bitcoin price is dump from $8K to $5K, it's not increasing.

I think we can't compare though the Feds injecting more money that time as to today.

People panic because of the virus, there are no clear understanding as what or who causes it and obviously not just crypto or bitcoin falls that time, every traditional market collapses, stocks, oil etc.

The collapse of 2 banks and FED injected more money in this year had no relation with the sudden pump of Bitcoin price. FED prints new money will make the value of the dollars decreased, but it doesn't mean it will increase Bitcoin price.

The narrative or expectations of investors now are different though, when government injects money to save bank, so as the bank fails, investors opt to other assets to hedge their wealth and bitcoin might be the number 1 logical choice, or maybe gold or maybe stocks.

Or maybe this news as well:

1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: March 18, 2023, 12:08:42 PM
This should be a really good fight, I am expecting Canelo to win this though.

Has anybody seen any early fight odds, please post any crypto bookie odds here if and when you see them.

No odds yet for this fight from our crypto bookies, so maybe the handicappers are still trying to get the odds. But I reckon and as others speculation that Canelo will be the huge favorite here.

And it might be the first time after many fights though that Canelo opponents doesn't have any physical advantage against him. Ryder is not going to be taller than him and the reach are almost the fight. And we all know that Canelo are used to fighting tall boxers and then completely destroys them in about 10 rounds. So Ryder might not go to distance against him.

It will be another advantage for Canelo despite his previous injury. I agree that he'll be the favorite here no wonder because he always shows aggressiveness in the ring. His fast punches are also admirable despite facing taller and bigger opponents. Strength is really more important than the physical edge when it comes to the ring. Canelo only needs to make sure that his surgery will not affect the fight.

And that is the thing, we don't know if his hands are going to be fully healthy, or if he will suffer another injury as we all know that hands are very brittle and once it has history of injuries, it might come back to haunt him later in his career.

Most likely this is the same reason why they take Ryder, in paper it seems to be legit, as he is has earn his place against Canelo.

But we all know that Eddie Hearn has cherry pick another British fighter for Canelo to beat.
1231  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 17, 2023, 09:27:31 PM
Bitcoin has been pumping that begun since more than 8 hours. This might be because it appears that the department of treasury of America and the Federal Reserve are going to give Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank the funding and the cashflow that they are needing to give their depositors 100% of their money.

Does it necessarily mean that at every pump that bitcoin does there is always a fundamental behind it?
As bitcoin price drops can't it naturally go on without being influenced by any news such as US adoption, US inflation index and so on.?
Does it mean that the index of over buy and over sell does no longer imply in itcoin price fluctuations?

Well, you could be right about Op, but I have also heard news of CZ buying coins worth over a billion which could also be a factor

Yes, this could be one of the reasons though, but we all know that there are a lot of banks being saved now and being bail out by government and it's a sign that they might be printing a lot of money.

And if they are printing a lot of money then it's going to be devalued at some point. And where does people go then so that what they hold won't lost any value, then obviously it will be with crypto like bitcoin because that's how it was design by Satoshi. That's why someone has pointed out that history repeats itself. And that's how we should value BTC more than ever.

1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 17, 2023, 12:23:25 PM

^ With the fight hype like this, they would really want a rematch and Golden Boy wants its space for it. I think no matter who wins they will have a rematch. And If I would read between the lines here. They will deliberately set the fight just enough to make it fun and exciting yet also disappointing to consider a rematch.

Haha, you may have a point but i think deliberately making the fight enough to warrant for a rematch is a hard thing to do and we must not forget that Tank Davis' sentencing will be in May and he may be out for a year or more so the rematch would not happen very soon even if Ryan Garcia win the first.

Have not read thoroughly the rehydration clause but i think Tank Davis is simulating the moves of Canelo Alvarez wherein he controlled his opponent's weight when they face in the ring, not a bad move but i think a coward act hehe.

I just think that Davis doesn't want to give any advantage to Garcia simply as that, so he inserted the rehydration clause to make Garcia uncomfortable and indeed if he has problems making the 136 lbs and what more if he wants to rehydrate after the weigh in.

Not sure who is Garcia's nutritionist, but she/he has a lot of things in the plate to ensure Garcia will not have an problem during the weigh in and rehydrate himself just 10 lbs before the fight.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 17, 2023, 12:08:03 PM
Yep, just one game for the Warriors, and as we can see in their lineup, no Wiggins still, so they continue to struggle unlike during their championship run last year there are a lot of good supporting players who fulfill their role, but not this year. So Curry need to step up, scores 50 and yet it's not enough.

They are in the playoffs, just have to see where they are going to land and which opponents they are going to face.

But you can't really take them off in the equation as they are the defending champions and they have been in this situation many times.

I doubt Curry can carry the whole team with this line-up against west teams that already power up by acquiring big boys player from the East like KD on Suns and Irving on Mavs. Nuggets and Kings are the new top teams that is very hard to break even with complete line-up GSW.

I really think this year is not for GSW anymore due to a lot of factor that is much harder compared to last season. Western Conference is a one hell of a ride to be on championship while Easter Conference is an easy peasy path for Boston/Bucks. Western teams keeps leveling up their roster that makes most of Eastern team weak AF.

I hope that NBA will revamp the Division playoffs to make it more balance since there’s a big difference between West and East team.
He can't. He needs Klay Thompson to step up his game. But about GSW "not this year" thought, I won't go that far just yet. Remember, that's the same notion about them last year that is why it's too emotional for Steph Curry when they won the Finals. Because no one expected it and they are hearing bad things from different analysts about them being a bad team. And yet, they won it.
I can see Steve Kerr trying new things in their rotation. This past two games, he is inserting Moses Moody and he is having 10-15 minutes playtime. He might be on something else again.

I do agree, they have the DNA mentality so it's hard to beat that. But as far as their lineup goes, it's not that solid as last year. And the another bad news is that Iggy is injured and may not play in the playoffs.

And so they have Ty Jerome, Moody, JaMychal Green that might not be enough to make a push this year.

Curry and Klay And Draymond will have to do a lot now since their bench is not that deep anymore.
1235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From Conch Shells To Bitcoin, But What Next And When? on: March 17, 2023, 11:28:17 AM
Dollar might not be the reserved currency in the future, CBCD could be the next big thing. And obviously, we are going to be digital in the future. So yeah, as human evolves and so is the currency, and that is a good sign.

And the thing is, with bitcoin, it's like very short span, in 10 years or so, it had gain so much around the world.

So just imagine what it will be in the next coming years, maybe we will see the adoption that we all have been waiting to happen.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 16, 2023, 09:37:41 PM
Everyone deserves a second chance. If the league can accept him again, there's no reason the Grizzlies cannot accept him. He is still young and prone to make mistakes, so let's give him a second chance. Besides, without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies wouldn't be where they are now.

I think there are some negotiations going on about this between the Grizzlies and the league. I am quite sure that they are going to work something out between themselves and let him play again.

And I have to say one thing. After all he is only 23. His mistakes are not forgiven at 23, when are his mistakes going to be forgiven!!

I also believe that they are already working it out. Ja Morant is a superstar and lots of fans would want to see him play, so I think we might be surprised that he will be back soon. His offense was serious, but the league and the team could give him a warning that if it happens again, he'll be banned from the NBA for life.

When he comes back, I hope to see a new Ja - the swaggy Ja, but more for entertainment purposes only.

He already has that swag, and he do for entertainment, but the thing is that most of his team mates might have inherited that's why they are one of the most hated team right now.

For the NBA, not sure, just a slap in the wrist for him, 8 games suspension and that's it.

Maybe they don't want to lose one of their bankable star that's why he just get fewer game suspension. But he might be out for the voluntarily and get himself up first before playing.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 16, 2023, 09:21:24 PM
And for David's perspective towards Plant, it's either he is indeed underestimating the latter just because he failed on his campaign towards Canelo or David was just messing around and playing some mind games with him to distract him from his plans. But that moves may have a consequence because the way I see it, Plant is serious this time and David might be a victim.

Hard to say, maybe mind games, or personal thing for him as we have seen videos of their confrontation years ago. And it seems the Benavidez are hell bent on getting their revenge on Caleb. But the thing is that Caleb saw this as just their antics and so he will be more prepared for this fight just to make sure to shut the mouth of David and his father.

Both fighters are eager to win for a chance to have a shot for Alvarez, winning these fights will give them the hype for their career, for sure both of them are preparing and anticipating how their opponents are adjusting to bring everything once they are already inside the ring, whatever the reason from both fighters they will use it to fight in more inspiring way.

Winning is the goal to bring more opportunity in their career. Whoever will be the winner deserves the credit.

Specially David Benavidez, he wanted to fight Alvarez next so for sure he is very much in this fight and will bring his A-game. Also extra motivation for him as he hated Caleb and he wants to proved that he deserved Canelo next.

Alvarez though will have a fight against Ryder and maybe Bivol next. So it might take some time for the winner of this fight to get into Alvarez.

But the thing is that they need to win and win it badly.
1238  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26k mark finally breached on: March 16, 2023, 09:09:20 PM
My pick is that Bitcoin needs to face the fact that we're dealing with a volatile market and we must always welcome the market dump and pump in price because they present there own benefit.
Having said that, I think people should celebrate the market pump in price yet because the bear is still much alive and the best thing anyone can do is spoon up more BTC before the major rally start.

It's already given, Bitcoin is very volatile, it's up to the investors just like us on how to deal with it, whether we take advantage of it, buy buying or sold to make some quick profit.

Of course, we always want the market to pump hard and see the price getting to $26k or higher. But as we can see, since we are still in the bear market, after a quick pump we are back to $24k++. It didn't sustain that rally.
1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: March 16, 2023, 12:44:11 PM
Ethereum is second to Bitcoin because it has the second largest marketcap of all cryptocurrencies. So, since only altcoin is mentioned, we can call it the king of Altcoins. We can consider that Eth is the leader in altcoins because no one has yet caught up with his market cap. Some people compare that Bnb is the King but I don't agree with that. Even though he can surpass the market cap of Eth, he will not be the King of Altcoin.

Obviously, it's design is very much different with Bitcoin. But as far as altcoin goes, Ethereum is the king, and we have seen a lot of projects trying to challenge it, but still Ethereum remains on top and I think it will remain that way even if there are more robust altcoin in the market, more projects that are even good in every aspect, we are crypto enthusiast are going to support it. But we all love competitions, so it's better that we have other altcoins that will challenge Ethereum for supremacy. So that they will evolve and improved their project.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 15, 2023, 09:43:59 PM
Yes, this is also what I'm seeing in this fight, David, coming on a LHW or higher and then trying to imposed his physically on the much smaller Caleb Plant. And Caleb might have a good few rounds, early, but when things get rough, he might tired late in the rounds and then Caleb caught up with some good punches and then Caleb slowly getting tired and maybe goes down on his knees with a couple of body shots. Unless he improved his stamina or uses his boxing IQ to just be selective so that he will last longer.
I think Caleb Plant doesn't lack of stamina, but he's just don't know what he need to do when the opponent dominating the fight because it's always who dominate the fight since he's mostly win via KO. When he fight with Canelo, Canelo outclass him and he can't think anymore except continuously received multiple punches from Canelo.

This fight Benavidez seems more stronger and will dominating the fight, Plant need to able to control himself when he's not in a good condition.

And it just shows that Canelo is very different, I mean there are rounds that Caleb is dominating him, but he quickly switch off in the middle rounds and that's when Caleb seems confused and wasn't able to adjust to Canelo's aggressiveness.

But it seems that he has learned his lessons from his defeat against Canelo, so we will see if he has a plan B if David uses his physically against him specially if this fight goes to the distance. But then again, as we have said, it will be a tall order for Caleb to win here.
