1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 03, 2023, 03:26:33 AM
How about the game between the Bucks and the Sixers, two MVP in the game, but in the end it was all Giannis as he lead the Bucks to a huge victory against Joel Embiid and his Sixers.

They started hot in the 1st quarter, and if I'm not mistaken they like 7 out of 7 in the field to take a double digit lead. And after that, the Bucks didn't get up any, although they've close the gap in the 3td quarter until they hit back to back threes and then Giannis scoring in the last 2 minutes as he had a mismatch. Brook Lopez too was able to hold his ground against Joel. And with this win, they've solidify their top spot in the East.
1182  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: April 02, 2023, 09:03:17 PM
IMO, Elon Musk is a talented businessman and has made significant contributions to the industry and society. However, his frequent use of Twitter to make controversial news and his decision to acquire Twitter could devalue the shares of his other companies. This can make investors and the public worried about the future of those companies.

Elon Musk's failure to properly appreciate the impact of his actions and words on the public and the market. Disregard for public sentiment can lead to a loss of investor and customer confidence, damaging the reputation and value of his companies.

since the controversial purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk, the value of Twitter has slowly declined in the hands of Elon Musk. I agree with you that everyone has their own expertise, Elun Musk has been very successful with Tesla and SpaceX car technology. but doing business in cyberspace, I think it is much different from what he did at his previous company.
Also added to the musk elun policies on Twitter that make Twitter users may leave it

It decline because he had made a lot of change in the company. He had lay off a lot of its employees, and even those in the top position are not even spared ny Elon when he goes full revamp.

And investors doesn't want to see thing happening not just on Twitter or any company for that matter, because it gave them bad connotation. And with that the price plummet as a reflection of that. Anyhow, I think Elon accomplished what he wanted in the beginning, have a social platform that he can used in his favor.
1183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can do 30k$ this month? on: April 02, 2023, 08:45:31 PM
The month of March is just going to end tomorrow, and the Bitcoin price is trading at $28,600. Like I said, I am not certain about the BTC price by tomorrow, which may still not be able to hit $30k tomorrow as we are just counting hours now.

We have passed March and maybe some of the targets of some people are not fully achieved, by predicting Bitcoin Price will reach $ 30k by the end of March, and this may fail but at least last March gave us a lot of price changes even though we are still experiencing corrections in yesterday's small bull run, ending the numbers close to this target we think has been very good, because at least we had a good bullish graph in the past march.

And it just shows that some of us predicted the right now at $28k, or just missed it because we wanted round numbers in $30k. But the best thing is that we are still hanging on with that price and it's good for now.

Now that April has started we will know what the next move is going to be and so is the correction that will have to go on going to the bullshit chart, now we see the price of Bitcoin in the market is in the $28k area, probably most people would expect a higher price good for future events, and this is Bitcoin which itself has its own cycle of rising and correcting movements.

We've corrected to $26k already and again, we went as high as $28,500 but it seems buyers are exhausted and needed to take a rest. And so far this April, its's been sideways pattern still. Nevertheless we are already in some kind of bullish phase so we might as well continue with it this April and hopefully we can break that $30k barrier.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Heavyweight Boxing 1st April 2023: Joshua vs Franklin on: April 02, 2023, 08:31:14 PM
I watched the fight on my iPhone on a crappy stream. I expected more from Joshua to be honest, I know he won, he was the better fighter in most rounds but I expected a more explosive performance. He’s going to have to be much, much better if he’s even thinking about fighting Fury or even trying to get a 3rd Usyk fight.

And we can say that even if Joshua win this fight, it was a lousy performance on his side. As you have said, we expect more from him, not just taking a win, but it should be like a statement, he even admitted that he should have knockout Franklin in the post fight interview and he didn't.

Otto Wallin put in perfectly in this tweet,

Quote

@OttoWallin
Joshua is not the same guy anymore. His head is gone and the stuff after the fight shows it even more. He’s feeling too much pressure

1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: April 02, 2023, 08:17:20 PM

Upset still possible but I can be more biased here since byt stats and by capabilities Shakur do have a huge advantage.

Not unless if Yoshino will get that lucky opening and throw a KO punch that will bring Shakur in the floor.

The chances of Stevenson getting knocked out are very low because we know how careful of a boxer he is. According to his stats, he is not a KO artist and yet remains undefeated. This means that he does not take unnecessary risks by going toe to toe and instead relies on his advantage, which is his quickness. Therefore, it is possible for him to get KOed, but the chances are close to none.
Well, looking at their individual stats, obviously Yoshino has bigger number of knockout wins than Stevenson, but I don’t think he will be easily knockout by Yoshino since we know that he’s more a fighter and warrior when it comes to the ring. But we can’t underestimate too the strength of Yoshino as he would never reach this far if he’s not good enough. So let’s just hope we’ll see a good fight then, and only then we can tell who’s going to level up and bound to fight a heavier opponent.

And the skills and the opponents that Yoshino face, it's all Japanese, not saying that they are not good or tough, but Stevenson has face tougher opponents and won all of them, although his knockout percentage is not that high. But as we all know, it's better to take a win in either case, UD or knockout is still a W. For sure the camp of Stevenson has seen his record and will not underestimate the strength of the Japanese. On the contrary, with Shakur's talent, he might play with Yoshino's strength and power and beat him on his own game. So it's going to be a good fight, but in the end, Stevenson will be too much and win this fight.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 02, 2023, 01:04:57 PM
Heat vs Mavs tonight and oh , this looks very interesting because both team needs the W and I don't see either of them backing up. With this , I do think we will have a tight battle with maybe low score because I do see both defenses putting up the work.

Heat are having 3 straight loses , while Mavs have a 4 lose streak , a win and another lose in their last 6 games.

Surprisingly or not , bookies do see Mavs as favors with odds being @1.78+.  Smiley

And Bookies are wrong and most likely those who love to bet on the underdog had their money for the winner, Miami Heat. Just good to see the despite being snub by the NBA and not getting into the All Star this year or even in 1st or 2nd selection, Jimmy Butler proves everyone wrong when he had a monster game against the Dallas team which might not make it to this year because of their poor performance in the last stretch of the season.

While Lakers, Pelicans and Timberwolves and OKC are going to fight it out till the last game to see who will be in the play-off or who will be in the play-in.

So still a lot of good games ahead of us.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What makes Binance stay strong despite all FUD ? on: April 01, 2023, 09:29:55 PM
There is nothing short of FUDs in the crypto market especially for big names such as Binance.  Recently there are so many accusations about Binance and even the U.S Senator has inquired. According to Binance's response https://www.binance.com/en/blog/ecosystem/binance-shares-its-recent-response-to-us-senators-inquiry-1968152125579137703 , there are some public misconceptions about Binance and the team had already clarified. When I read the news, the first thing came to my mind was that BNB price was doomed to decrease dramatically. However, Binance US's weekly trading volume reached 41% of Coinbase's (global) trading volume last week, which is an ATH. (Source:https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1641728341962096641). At the same time, BNB price is still around $320, showing very little volatility. What makes Binance so strong faced with so many unfavorable conditions ? Please share your opinions.

It's not the first time though that Binance has been in the hot seat and has been pursued by US. Even CZ's own country, China in it's early days have been going after him and his exchange but nothing has put him down.

The thing with CZ is that he is hands on with his project and probably in total control of it and so he is going to face this head on against the US government and willing to cooperate. And you can see that he is responding in his official twitter account. With that, investors see a strong leader, unlike SBF who we haven't heard so much until the collapse and exposing of FTX.
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much return are we expecting next bull run? on: April 01, 2023, 09:03:53 PM
Good start as today price is up more than 5% and could go back from $26k to $28k, still about 2 more days to see price can reach $30k, and if tomorrow price can reach $29k then i believe march will be closed in the range of $ 30k, and of course it will be an important for stating April so that it can skyrocket again like what happened in 2021.

I think the next bull run will be the best one and beyond our imaginations. The reason is that we are now seriously seeing the drawbacks of the current financial system and the world needs to adopt bitcoin and accept it as a world global currency.
We have seen some crazy predictions recently like this one Can Bitcoin reach $1 million in 90 days? Expert analyzes Balaji’s forecast. Although you can argue that these predictions never come true but things are unfolding in such ways that we can expect bitcoin reach to $1million, not in 90 days but it is very much possible by the end of 2024/25.

Honestly, I really want that to happen because if bitcoin can hit $1 million next bull season, I will retire early and enjoy my life. But I think we should be more realistic, that's no longer an optimism but an illusion. The banking system is in serious trouble, but it's only a small fraction of the millions of banks in the world, so the banking crisis won't take a huge hit for bitcoin. The banking system will be repaired and will still be the choice of most people, bitcoin is unlikely to replace the traditional financial system in the near future.

Yes, that will be a good price for everyone, but lets not kid ourselves, $1 million is out of the picture of the next bull run, and we will have to still wait and not retire early in our lives and enjoy our profits. Although the banking system is in trouble right now, it might not be enough to push for a 7 digit price next bull run. Conservative estimates will be $100k as the entry level and as high as $150k. I think that's good enough price for everyone. Specially if we are still saving as much as we can, whether dollar cost average (DCA), or buy when we have that money in bulk, one time.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: April 01, 2023, 08:47:34 PM
The last time I see Inoue having a good fight was the time he first encountered Nonito Donaire.
I hope Fulton will also able to give Inoue a tough fight to the point that we can't even predict and speculate who will win until the final bell rangs.

I think Fulton will still have the confident because this is his division and he has fought a lot of good fighters too. Specially against Brandon Figueroa who is one good volume puncher with decent power as well. And I thought that in some moments in that fight, he will go down from the barrage of punches from Figueroa, but he withstand it and won the fight. So most likely his chin will be tested by Inoue obviously but perhaps Fulton thinks that it wont' break as he has experience fighting punchers in this division and he hasn't been knockdown. But it will be tough fight for him as he will travel to Japan, Inoue, home court.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: April 01, 2023, 08:23:54 PM
One month and 2 days left we can see casimero back in the ring fighting against ngitumbwa a and we all know that this is one of the big fights by casimero if he win this fight then he will be known back, he will be recognize and bring back his reputations from the crowd and I know he can win this match he is so aggressive now he is aiming high to claim what he want to claim in the past. And became a champion soon as possible.

That should be the goal, Casimero making an impressive win that even it's a non-title fight, he is really dominant and overpowering his opponent.

Yes, even if this is a non tittle fight, Casimero should not only impressed his fans, but everyone in the division, to at least show that he is someone to be another fighter that shouldn't be overlook as there are a lot of great boxers in this division.

Look at what happened to his fight against Akaho. That fight wasn't even special and hype before the actual day of the match. But with how Casimero performed on that fight, making Akaho a joke, he is, no doubt got the attentio of the boxing community.

If Casimero will turned this upcoming fight of him into something spectacular and 100% shows being domimant at most part of the match, I'm sure he will again be recognize and might be consider for a good deal on his next match.

He started slow in that fight, but when he got his rhythm, Akaho knows that he can't take fight and just took a dive. If he just try to be as competitive as other boxers that Casimero has fought, he could have made it a fight. But for sure, he will get KO by Casimero and in his first fight at 122 lbs could be impressive. But this is another opportunity for John Riel again and dominate his opponent and go for a KO win against Nghitumbwa.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 01, 2023, 12:49:09 PM
I have a feeling that the western conference ranked 4, 5, 6, and 7 might be more difficult to beat during the playoffs. These teams are not just capable but they are well-experienced teams with playoffs veterans that can remain composed during the toughest games and clutch times.

Poor Dallas Mavericks, I want them at least inside the top 10. This might be the most stacked year in the west. Although I did notice since I was a kid that the western conference is always with better win-loss teams than the east.
5 more games left for them. I am not in a worry yet because they can really win if they wanted to, all they need is to push harder. It seems like Doncic and Kyrie's chemistry doesn't work so Coach Kidd should find a way for flexible minutes. Luka loved handling the ball for a long time and so does Kyrie. The other player is just standing there watching while the other is doing his work. Not right, unlike other teams where the other star keeps on moving.
i.e. Warriors Steph doesn't stop running if Klay or Poole has the ball.

I love the New York Knicks somehow finding a way to steal a win against the strong Cavaliers in their home and without Julius Randle.
Jalen Brunson, 48 monster points! Is he really that small? Grin Who else can score that much at 6'1?!

Yes, I thought that the favorite Cavs are going to win this match, as the Knicks doesn't have Randle in the lineup.

But Brunson carry the team and had one of those games that he no one can stop him, probably the Mavs are kicking themselves for letting Brunson. Although they got Kyrie, it was very different when Luka and Brunson play.

Anyhow, not sure what the Mavs will do with their current roster because it's evident that they need to change something to be competitive again.
1192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is it that is bitcoin is first in thought in mind in cryptocurrency on: March 31, 2023, 08:51:23 PM
First time I heard about crypto bitcoin was what was introduced to me that was way back 2015 the news kept spreading across the global crypto market and everyone seems to believe in their stock even at the worse point if you ask them why not in pains about your coin most of my friends will be like yes I’m in pain but I have to leave the money in the wallet that it will multiply x2 I will be like why are you so comfortable that it will get back he said to me that he have invested so many times and have not experienced loss “my questions “ is this possible and I made research I found out that is other crypto coins why is it that is only bitcoin that is more recognized in the crypto world is it because of the ceos or the. First in crypto currency’s. I want to know why is only Bitcoin in the limelight I have someone that wants to invest in crypto but wants to invest in other coins he wants to know if other are same values as bitcoin and if other coins can be easily be exchanged or sell  or for purchases.

Simply because it's the prime mover, the first crypto to be released, and so it gained a lot of attention early and with that, it has grown tremendously in the last 10 years or so. And not just in crypto, I mean in all facet of business, if you are the first one to invent something unique they you will have the full advantage and although there are a lot of crypto now, no project can replicate what Satoshi did and his invention. It was so unique that no one has thought about it before although there are a lot of precedence about crypto and his Bitcoin.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 31, 2023, 08:29:26 PM
How about the games tomorrow?

It's only 2 games but 1 of them is a must see battle, it's between the Bucks and the Celtics. Holiday just had a huge game against the Pacers with 51 points, (not sure if this is his career though). I'm still not decided as to who to beat on this game.

On the other game, it's the Nuggets vs the Pelicans, I might go with the Nuggets here at handicap.

-5.5 @ 1.82 not bad for the handicap if Nuggets will play solid, but I think it can be covered unless Denver will rest their core starters or they will play soft and let NOP snatch the game from them,.

Oh well, I might follow you, but let me check it during a live game before placing my bet,
chances of resting players might happen here.

It was a trapped mate, however, I did bet early and before the game starts, I check the odds and there was a sudden shift as it become as low as 0-5 to 1.5 for the Nuggets and I was surprised by the moved.

And then I watch the game it was announcement that Jokic is not going to play.

But I'm still thinking that they can still cover the spread, but in the first quarter alone, the Nuggets shoot poorly and then I know that my bet is lost already.

That's why sometimes it's better to bet live, or at least after the kick-off so that we will see who's going to play and adjust our bets.

Just like it was a trap for the Bucks backers as well, because they see Giannis, and also Khris Middleton playing and thinking that it could have been a good beat for the Bucks -1.5 because it's their home court.

But the Celtics just took off and established a big lead and never look back and Giannis can't do anything about it.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: effect of bitcoin on institutions and global economy on: March 31, 2023, 08:05:40 PM
[a thought] i was paying my electricity bill and my bank server was down at night. this happens to me many times becuase i mostly free on night to pay bills and all .
and i thought of bitcoin, the bitcoin is never down to make payments (of course easy for who accepts bitcoin as payments)

Been paying my bills using my bitcoin, not all the time, but if I see that it is more beneficial then I used it as a form of money, although not direct p2p as the electric company will have to used a 3rd party, but still though it's good to see bitcoin being used as what it is design initially by Satoshi, as a payment scheme.

As store of value? we already have government doing it right now. And even Elon Musk and his company Tesla has put it as a reserved although they have to sell at least 75% of it and reported to have lost money. So gonna be hard for some institutions to used it a hedge unless they will have to understand the economics if it, bear and bull market and other factors.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Skill Based Slot Machines on: March 31, 2023, 07:43:14 PM
I've never tried skill-based slot machines (never even knew they existed until today), but it does sound quite interesting. It actually does add an extra layer of excitement compared to traditional slots, as you can have some control over the outcome during bonus rounds and be more active when playing slot games. However, I am pretty much sure that the house still has an edge, so the odds aren't really in your favor and there are some sort of lucks involved in those games, or else skilled player could make those casinos go bankrupt. As for which I  would prefer, I'd say it depends on how I am feeling and what I want. If I'm looking for a more interactive experience and be more involved in the game, I'd go for skill-based slots. But if I just want to relax and try my luck, traditional slots would be more appealing.

Probably that will be one reason that it will be welcome, because there is some excitement as compare to traditional based slot machines, although I must say that traditional is also very exciting but addicted as well.

Just search this skill based game,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCkl-Fhs200

It's a brick sort of games, so yeah you need some skills if you want to make money in this kind of games.
1196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Crypto Marketet Is Dumping Drastically !! on: March 30, 2023, 08:05:37 PM
I'm just looking at the date of this thread, and it seems that it was open during the bear market in 2018. So yeah we all have our speculations as to why the price is going down or why people are dumping. And it's true, it's bear market again last year and the price really plummeted hard, but it seems that this year, at the beginning, the price is on a sustainable run. We've seen the worst last year for bitcoin at $15,500 and now we are almost doubling that price at $28k. So there could be many reasons for the dumping but for this year, for me this is already a recovery year and then next year will be the bull run.
1197  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 30, 2023, 07:43:20 PM
The month of march has almost been passed and the price of bitcoin Cross 25k$ and now it is up from 28k$. So the price of bitcoin for the month of march was very profitable and we hope they in remaining one day it will be increase but there is no guarantee that it will decrease or increase because the market has no trust for a second.

But it's now on the $27,800, I don't know what's with that $28,500 because once we get to that price, it will go down immediately. Maybe the resistance for traders are too big and we are not going over that price mark at the end of the month.

The month of march shows positive results for its holders and remain very lucky and successful month for all bitcoin holders. Estimation sometimes become difficult so we can only see the present worth but cannot say anything about future and as we see that the price is still high in the end of this month so it is hoping that it will attain greater value than current value.

Yes, when we thought that it will be negative, the month turns out to be one of the best in the first 3 months. It will be January for the best month and then followed by March. And we will be very positive now this coming April and maybe, that barrier can be broken and we will go to $30k finally next month.

You're right, that $28,500 is just like $25k at the end of February or early March. There is too much of that barrier that it seems we can't get over that hump. And if I'm not mistaken, it too us like 4x attempt to break the price. So could be possible for that $28k-$30k barrier and this could only be accomplished in another month or so. Just stay calm next month, for me if there is no negative news, we are going to be very bullish again and I'm seeing like $32k could be the next significant number for the month of April. And for sure, our OP will have another thread that we can discussed and then go back to see how it goes.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 30, 2023, 07:01:48 PM

Very interesting that it will be just 2 months before this fight, maybe it was a rush for Casimero to have a dancing partner because they need to rush things right now in his career. But I do agree that he needs to get busy and that his new promoter found someone that is willing to fight one of the hardest puncher in this division. For me it's better not to get ahead of himself and talk about Inoue again. Just go and fight and win and then later maybe he will be given the rights to face the Japanese monster. I think that is the smartest thing to do right now for him. Focus one fight at a time.

His team should focus on Casimero to have another title crack and become champion again, the Akaho fight is quite disappointing although there was an overturn of the decision Casimero is a very talented boxer and he is the frontrunner of Filipino boxers, many are still following his career because he is very brave and he never back out from any fighter that includes Inoue.
This is going to be an easy fight for Casimero but however easy it may seem he should impress the boxing community, as they say, a boxer is only good in his last fight if he can win impressively like an early knockout, boxing organizations may line him up for title crack.

That Akaho fight is very disappointed for us and for Casimero, I mean if Akaho decided to continue to fight then we will see Casimero's beast unleashed again and maybe he will really win by knockout. But Akaho robbed us when he quit and although the ruling has overturn, it leave a bad taste for us fans.

I don't think ti's going to be an easy fight, Nghitumbwa has noting to lose in this fight, so most likely he will go with everything he got and test Casimero. And if Casimero bring back than brandish style of his, we might see another knockout performance as he is known when he was a 118 lbs champion.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 30, 2023, 12:42:49 PM
@LUCKMCFLY, I hope this news is not fake. It would be a huge disappointment if the fight does not happen after all the anticipation and hype surrounding it. Let's hope they ensure that the fight takes place this time. Otherwise, it would be a waste of effort and time, and many fans might lose interest in boxing altogether.
I agree, I wouldn't put too much emphasized on that news, because it's just another clickbait article from that news site although it just pertain to boxing. And I have check other boxing sites and there are no reports about the Spence vs Crawford fight, so I would refrain from posting that kind of news until either of the announced it publicly that they are going to fight. The first negotiation is messy and we are all expecting that it will happen, but it didn't as it broke down because of the financials of the fight. So it's better to wait first before we all get excited.
There have been rumors of these two boxers fighting in the past, but it has never come to fruition. Despite the constant hype, one of the fighters has been hesitant to risk his undefeated record. While they are both great boxers and among the best of their era, some fans may feel disappointed that they are not willing to take more risks.

However, we can still hope that with continued hype and interest, this potential matchup may happen in the future.

For me it's better to hear it directly from either fighter if the fight is going to happen or if there is negotiations right now. Instead of listening to some social media accounts who even have a date in this fight around June he says, but that is not a reliable source so I just laugh it out.

However, this fight is officially go, maybe some things that both camps wanted to and iron out.

Regardless, I think Spence will be too much for Thurman though and might get a ko/tko late in the rounds.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 12:00:06 PM
Lakers looking good so far as well, now with Lebron back there is a good chance of making the playins or maybe even the playoffs straight up. But there will be another 4 road games ( even though the last one is with the clippers so it's basically a home game ) before finishing the season with 2 games at home. Winning today would be a huge step towards the post season, lets see if they can hold on to the lead in the 2nd half.
They got the lead early in the first, Bulls went back to tie the game and take the lead at some point, but in the end the Lakers won on the road 121-110.

Davis and Lebron lead the team scoring 38 & 25 points while the whole starting 5 of the Lakers scored a total of 107 points while the bench only scored 14. Well they won on the road, and it's a must win for them as they are trying to at least get a play-in spot.

Anyway, did anybody saw the Reaves doing the "too small" gesture against Pat Bev? Remember on their last game, Beverley did this to Lebron on Crypto.com arena, and now the Lakers got the revenge thru Reaves doing it to Beverley. Even Davis and Russell are too happy with that action, while Beverley acted like nothing happened. Karma strikes him hard. Cheesy Here's the video anyway, it's' kind of funny that even the commentators surprised and laughed at it. Got the revenge.

Yeah, saw that one and everyone is loving it, Pat did that to Lebron and we all know that they are competitive, but I think it's disrespectful to do that with your former team mates. And now that the Lakers got their revenge win and then this gesture by AR, Lol, its classic karma.

And even Lebron appreciate it after the game and was having fun, and says that although he loves it and AR got his back, AR still loves Kobe more than Lebron, but it was all just for fun.
