Is there a plan for a portable client?

Lots of people have computers at work without administration level. It would give a big boost to the folding, specially if the portable client is discrete in the work environment (tray icon for example)

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/foldinghome/hmnbjdgjgikbkapaolimfoidihobnofo

This Chrome extension will fold using your cpu within Chrome.

9 Millions points done after a little 36h and still nothing showing to the pool, there's more than 24h delay no?

You're hitting the mining pool pretty hard....
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CureCoin is launched 5/10/2014 on: May 12, 2014, 04:55:05 AM
I've been folding for 24hrs using Cryptobullions pool and haven't gotten a single coin.  When are coins dispersed?
Me too  Huh I quit now.

Well, if you don't like the coin or are not willing to be patient, you should probably stop.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CureCoin is launched 5/10/2014 on: May 12, 2014, 12:53:36 AM
managing 20+ rigs with teamviewer is a pain in the ass, I want to be able to switch from folding to mining instantly...
How would you switch from folding to mining from within the f@h client? Im pretty sure the remote access in f@h is just to acces the client remotely.... not the whole pc... (altough could ofc be wrong =)) quote standford :
Quote
Congratulations! FAHControl should connect to the remote client in a few seconds, and allow full access to monitor progress and configure settings.

...

I'm not trying mining with f@h client, I just want to be able to pause all my folding from one client...

Well I used to use FAHControl + CGRemote. I didn't need to disable the firewall, just added an exception.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CureCoin is launched 5/10/2014 on: May 11, 2014, 03:10:11 PM
Hey Daliss! The update from f@h to the Curecoin folding pool (cryptobullionpools.com) occurs once every 24 hours. Smiley

For your rigs, those projects are very similar, and shouldn't be showing that discrepancy. Has this changed? If not, check the logs, and manually calculate the TPF by looking at the difference between timestamps on two messages from the same FS0x saying a new percent has completed, and compare that to the other rig. If those are similar, you should be fine and the PPD calculation is just off for now. If they are drastically different, then one machine is running significantly slower.

For a failed GPU, try restarting the computer, though that sounds like the driver is reporting a bad/failing GPU. Does mining work alright on that card?

The failed gpu is mining fine so I don't get it, I removed it from slots for the moment.

Two more important questions :

- Can I switch easily from folding to mining? Can I pause folding and launch mining at any time?
- Is there anyway to remotely control several folding machines?

I guess you can just pause the folding and put your gpus to mining. But you might lose out a few points for QRB? (quick return bonus) Someone more knowledgeable can advise.

Using FAHControl you can remote control your folding machines.

This should explain most questions to get you started

Windows 8.1 GPU Folding Guide
1 go to http://folding.stanford.edu/
2 Then at the top middle of page click download.
3 On the next white page click download again
4 Now go to your downloads and open Fah installer as admin.
5 Follow the easy steps, once down loaded go to step 6.
6 Now what GPU are you using? is it up to date, via Bios and catalyst update? go to your manufactures web site and update.
7 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=268556.0            <<<=======Go to this site. it has all your answers. =p
8 Once completed set up. And you have created your account on      cryptobullionpools.com
9 you are now getting paid in CureCoin, Yup its this easy. coins will appear in cryptobullionpools.com account.
10 FINAL STEP Download your CureCoin Wallet... and set your pay out limit. . . .
12 Wallet Site:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=603757.0

Well you should be able to pick up from there. Feel free to pm me if your not finding your answer already, on the forums and I'll see if I can find the answer for you.

at step 8, Do i create my account with the same user name and email when i repuest passkey?
i run FAH 3 hours ago but my account in cryptobullionpools.com have nothing : PPD : 0 - CUR/Day (est) : 0

I believe it's only calculated every 24 hours? One of the devs can clarify that.

Hello, i am a newbie, and i don't understand how to mine this coin.
May i ask how can i mine it with my gpu?
Is there a miner?
How can i fold protein?

btw, i only have graphics cards, no asic

thx Smiley

then

https://www.cryptobullionpools.com/about
And how i recieve curecoin? Thank you.

F@H is the "miner" for the gpu/cpu.

After that, same as any coin. Set up the pool to payout to your wallet.

Of course, if you have a sha256 asic you can mine on a pool using cgminer.

I'm folding at 30k ppd and 500gh on the pool.

Any exchanges or posts in exchanges for this coin?

Don't think so.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN CureCoin is launched 5/10/2014 on: May 11, 2014, 03:34:30 AM
The way I see it, to get 10WUs I would need 100 days, because the ETA on my WU is 10 days.

A 13000 on my GTX780 runs around 12 hours, under Ubuntu. A dedicated system doing nothing else.

Do you have anything else running on your system ? FAH only use unused resources on your PC. If there is BOINC in addition that would impact. Or screensaver/energy saver ? Can you share the log file ?
As I've said before, nothing else.

Any luck?

For those of you seeing exactly 1679 PPD, what is your TPF and what project were you assigned? Are you on Core_17 WUs? Smiley

Estimate TPF 2hrs 26minutes
Fahcore 0x17
Exact same stuff.

You can try erasing your current work units and download new ones and see if that makes a difference.
How?

delete the folders here C:\Users\your computer\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\work
I deleted it, restarted everything, but same thing.

Erm, then 2 last things,

1) I remember reading that if you have like 6 GPUs and only a dual core CPU system, the CPU will be the bottleneck. So try not to fold on the CPU and see what happens.

2) Leave is for 1 hour and see if the PPD goes up.
I have, left it before for over an hour, same thing. My CPU is an i5-4670k, and I am also not folding on it, so there is no bottleneck.

Sorry I don't have any more suggestions then. ):

Perhaps like the above poster said, wait for 30-40mins.

Look in the 2nd directory you installed to during the installation process. Mine's not default so I'm not sure.

Any ideas why some of us only get 1679PPD on some GPUs?

How long have you been waiting? Really took about 20-30 minutes for two of my three GPUs to start getting 90%+ utilization. Now they are running constant at about 96% average and estimated at 68,000 PPD each.
Hours? My 5850 is doing only 1679PPD and has 99% Utilization. No CPU folding.

I've been running two computers for 25 minutes  now- 6 GPU's - 7870's and 270's all showing 1679ppd Sad  I double checked and have the latest core.

Well it is a 5850.... My 2 x 6950 and 2 threads on the CPU is hitting 30k PPD only. Probably time for an upgrade anyway.

Congrats on the launch.

I just wish people would just read the OP and understand what we're folding/mining for.
